3. Paradise on Fire (2)

Thank you guys for stopying by and reading my history. I hope you like it.

I started running towards the most populated area, in order to stop the carnage that is about to happen. Unfortunately, i can't be everywhere, so we're going to lose a lot of good people. I will try to end this area as fast as I could and move to another one, in order to minimize the loss.

When I arrived in that area , the Geth are on the ground already , so I grabbed the Tsunami X with Disruptor bullets, from my inventory , and started to fire on them.

I managed to kill 3 of them before they noticed me, and when the rest finally realized, I launched a single singularity and began to shot again, killing the rest.

When I finished killing them, I looked up and noticed that there were many ships approaching. I activated the Map and could see that all of them are red dot. A lot of red dots, at least 400 Geth are on those ships.

3 of those said ships are coming to this area, with around 30 Geth, and I am alone here. I know that Ashley is close, but she and the other soldiers are with their hand full.

I looked around to see if I can find any civilians, but all of them already ran away the moment the Reaper showed up or they are hidden. Good thing that I have the Map.

As I have guessed, the moment I looked around I could see around 20 blue dots hidden in various places.

So I screamed, '' HEY, IS ANYONE AROUND HERE? I AM A ALLIANCE SOLDIER, AND I WILL HOLD MY GROUND HERE FOR A WHILE. THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO GO TO A SAFE PLACE, BEFORE THINGS GET UGLIER.''

And just like magic, those 20 colonist started to get out of their hidden spot and started to run past me, as I watched 3 of those ships coming in my direction.

I casually check my remaining bullets and watched those 30 Geth coming closer to me.

And I started to tremble like a leaf in the wind. Not from fear no, but from excitement.

' Ahhh , It is good to be back.' I said while running in the direction of the Geth ….

With Shepard

Just as I watched Nihlus go past me, I heard Joker saying,'' I hate that guy.''

''Nilhlus gave you a compliment … so you hate him?'' Kaidan said to Joker.

''You remember to zip up your jumpsuit on the way out of the bathroom? That's good. I just jumped us halfway across the galaxy and hit a target the size of pinhead. So that's ncredible.'' Joker said while looking smug and irritated at the same time.

'' Besides, Spectres are trouble. I don't like having him on board. Call me paranoid.''

'' You're paranoid. The Council helped fund this project. They have a right to send someone to keep an eye on their investment.'' Kaidan tried to smooth things between the Specter and the pilot. It's not working that well.

'' Yes, that is the official story. But only an idiot believes the official story.'' Joker said and I agree with him a little.

'' As they say every time,' Expect the best and prepare for the worst' , so I kind of understand what Joker is talking. Besides, they don't send Specters on shakedown runs.'' I stay with Joker on this one.

'' Exactly. So there's more going on here than the captain's letting on.'' Joker said.

Kaidan doesn't look like he agree and just as I was about to talk again, Captain Anderson voice come through ,'' Joker! Status report.''

Our pilot then talked, '' Just cleared the mass relay , Captain. Stealth systems engaged. Everything looks solid.''

'' Good. Find a comm buoy and link us into the network. I want mission reports relayed back to Alliance brass before we reach Eden Prime.'' Capitan Anderson said.

'' Aye, aye, Captain. Better brace yourself, sir. I think Nihlus is headed your way.'' Joker tried to warn the captain about the incoming Specter.

'' He's already here.'' Both me and Kaidan tried to hold our laughs as Joker simple shake his head in disbelief .

'' Lieutenant , tell Commander Shepard to meet me in the comm room for a debriefing.'' Anderson said that and stop talking.

''You get that , Commander? ''

'' He sounds angry. I place all the blame on Joker .'' Just as I finished saying the joke , Kaidan was already laughing.

'' Hey! It's not my fault ,'' I simply glared at him,'' ok , it may have been my fault , but in my defense , the captain always sound like that when he's talking with me.''

'' I can't possibly imagine why.'' Kaidan said.

I laughed and said, '' Being real now , I think something must have gone wrong with the mission. See you guys later.''

As I was walking in the direction on comm room , I started to imagine what could be possibly go wrong , and all the alternative don't look good for me nor the rest.

As entered the room , I noticed Nihlus, the turian Specter. He was watching some kind of footage.

He must have noticed my presence , because he stopped watching the footage and turned his attention to me , ''Commander Shepard. I was hoping you'd get here first. It will give us a chance to talk.''

'' Talk ? Are you hitting on me or something like that? Besides , the captain said he was meeting me here , so where is he? '' I tried to joke a little to see if I can change the mood , but it didn't work that well.

'' No commander, I am not hitting on you, I just wanted to talk , and your captain is coming.'' He paused for a second and then continued, '' I am interested in this world we're going to, I believe it is called Eden Prime? I've heard it's quite beautiful.''

'' They say it is just like a Paradise.'' I honestly told him what the others and I think.

'' Yes... a paradise. Serene. Tranquil. Safe. Eden Prime has become something of a symbol for your people, hasn't it? Proof that humanity can not only establish colonies across the galaxy, but also protect them. But how safe is it, really?'' he said that in a tone that I can't comprehend.

I tried to comprehend why he is talking about this and it suddenly clicked, '' Do you know something?''

'' Your people are still newcomers, Shepard. The galaxy can be a very dangerous place. Is the Alliance truly ready for this?'' he appears genuine worried while talking this.

Just as I was about to ask what is this about , Captain Anderson entered the room and said , '' I think it's about time we told the commander what's really going on.''

Nihlus nodded then started to speak , '' This mission is far more than a simple shakedown run.''

My face must already give him an answer, but I will speak anyway, '' I figured that you guys aren't disclosing all there is. That you were hiding something.'' Me and all of the crew , but I will omit that.

Anderson then added ,'' We're making a covert pick-up on Eden Prime. That's why we needed the stealth systems operational.''

'' I believe in you captain. There must be some reason on why you didn't tell anyone about this.'' While I believe in him, I think it's better if he talked more with me about things like this.

Anderson looked appreciated , '' This come down from the top, Commander. Information strictly on a need-to-know basis. A research team on Eden Prime unearthed some kind of beacon during an excavation. It was Prothean.''

'' I thought the Protheans vanished 50.000 years ago.'' I really did.

Nihlus nodded , '' I thought too , but their legacy still remains. The mass relays, the Cidatel, our ship drives, it's all based on Prothean technology.''

''This is big, Shepard. The last time humanity made a discovery like this, it jumped our technology forward two hundred years. But Eden Prime doesn't have the facilities to handle something like this. We need to bring the Beacon back to the Citadel for proper study.'' Anderson said in a grave tone.

'' Obviously, this goes beyond mere human interests, Commander. This discovery could affect every species in Council space.'' Nihlus added.

'' Are we expecting trouble?'' I asked.

'' We always have to expect trouble Commander. And I am not here only because of the beacon.'' Nihlus said while looking smug.

''He is here to evaluate you Commander.'' Anderson said.

I simple looked at him while being stunned. I really wasn't expecting this.

'' The Alliance has been pushing for this for a long time. Humanity wants a larger role in shaping interstellar policy. We want more say with the Citadel Council. The Spectres represent the Council's power and authority. If they accept a human into their ranks, it shows how far the Alliance has come.'' Anderson said proudly. I guess he really want this to happen.

As I was processing everything that they just said , Nihlus added ,'' You are a nice example of what humanity can do. You single handedly saved a colony on Elysium from the Batarian slavers, a rare talent even from within the asari or turian. That's why I put your name forward as a candidate for the Specter.''

He stopped speaking just I finished my thinking , and I asked,'' Just tell me what to do.''

'' I know what they talk about you, Commander. But I need to see your skills for myself , Eden Prime will be the first of several missions together.'' He looked quite proud when he said that.

'' You'll be in charge of the ground team. Secure the beacon and get it onto the ship ASAP. Nihlus will accompany you to observe the mission.'' Anderson added.

I nodded , '' Just give the word , Captain.''

'' Good. We should be getting close to Eden…'' before he could finish what he was saying , Joker voice come through in a hurry.

'' Captain! We've got a problem.'' He appear really nervous.

'' What's wrong , Joker ? '' Anderson said while appearing nervous.

'' Transmission from Eden Prime , sir. You better see this!''

'' Bring it up on the screen.'' Anderson said that , and all of us turned towards the direction of said screen.

What appears on the screen is a war zone , bullets flying from every place. On the video , alliance members are under attack , and a soldier get close to the screen.

'' Get down.''

This soldier then pushed the guy that was filming on the ground. The camera now focus on the soldier from before, shooting on a unseen enemy. The camera now started to look around , showing more of the war that is happening around him.

A officer then approaches the camera and said, '' We are under attack! Taking heavy casualties. I repeat: heavy casualties! We can't…argh! -eed evac! They came out of nowhere. We need —''

Before the officer could finish , he was shot by a unseen enemy. The camera guy now focused on the other soldiers, and all of them are looking to the sky in horror.

The camera guy then looked up as well and what appears on the screen is an enormous Spaceship. The air itself looked like it was afraid of that ship.

Just as the screen was turning grey , they could see a man going into the direction of the unseen enemy and saying , '' Get away , I will assume from here.''

'' Everything cuts out after that. No comm traffic at all. Just goes dead. There's nothing.'' Just from the voice of the pilot , we can feel his fear.

Captain Anderson tried to sound calm as possible , but it was not working , '' Reverse and hold at 38.5.''

'' On it sir.'' The screen reversed and then paused on the huge ship. We all are really worried just from seeing it.

'' Status report.'' Captain Anderson said with a grave tone.

'' Seventeen minutes out, Captain. No other Alliance ships in the area.'' Joker said.

'' We could see that guy coming and try to help. We can only hope that they manage to hold as long as they could.'' I added.

Captain Anderson sighed, '' Take us in, Joker. Fast and quiet. This mission just got a lot more complicated.''

Nhilus then added , '' A small strike team can move in quickly and without drawing attention. It's out best chance to secure the beacon.''

I nodded and looked back at the screen. We can't beat that ship without a huge amount of firepower.

Then captain Anderson told Nhilus , '' Grab your gear and meet us in the cargo hold.''

Nhilus nodded and stepped out of the romm.

After Nhilus left , Anderson turned to me and said , ''Tell Alenko and Jenkins to suit up , Commander. You're going in.''

'' OK sir . '' I said going in the direction of the door. I paused and looked back to the screen on more time.

If we face that thing now , we have less than 0% of chance of winning.

I throw away those negative thoughts and started to suit up.

It is going to be a long day.

With John

After a hard battle , I managed to destroy all 30 Geth , didn't lose my shield and now I am going to the area that have the most red dot, killing more Geth along the way. They are more easy to fight than humans.

As I activated the map, I noticed that the area with most blue dot is also the area with the most red dots. Ashley must be there.

The area is a little further away than 500 meters , and on my way there is at least 10 Geth. Need to clean them up before going there.

I am running out of time , so I just called them , '' Hey,'' all 10 of them looked at me and raised their weapon, '' eat this.'' I launched a huge singularity, engulfing them all. I calmly take out my Katana X and killed them. Easy.

I once again activated the map and noticed that a lot of the blue dot are gone. Only 3 remain.

I started to run with all my might and manage to get there in 1 minute, but the damage are already done. Only one blue dot remain and about 6 red dot are around it.

I jumped high and landed almost in front of the Geth , '' Get away . I will assume from here.''

And just I have planned , all of the Geths around here fixated their attention on me, and they forgot about Ashley.

I have 2 Geth Recon Drone above me and 4 normal geth on the front. I got behind a cover quickly, and watched the map to see the position of the enemy. The 4 Geth started to surround me, and I quickly created a plan.

I run out of cover , firing in the direction of the Drones , managing to destroy one of them. The other escaped and began to shoot on me, just like the Geth on the ground.

'I am out of cover so they are easily going to kill me', that's is what they would thought if they could do it. But no. The reason why I trained Barrier to the limit is from situation like this.

I am now on the open and when a rain of bullets came on my direction , I simply smirked.

If the Geth could feel anything, they would be shocked. Because the bullets are stopping right in front of me , as if there was another kind of shield blocking it. And they would be right, because I trained the barrier to the limit, I now can maintain this situation for 5 minutes. Meaning that I was partially invincible for 5 minutes.

Of course it have limitations, I have to be watching the bullets coming into my direction, so if someone shot me from behind I am fucked. And if it was explosives , I could maintain only for 2 minutes. I need to train the Barrier past its limits.

Now, right in front of me there is about 400 bullets , paused in the air. So I did what I should do and send it back to its owners, killing all of them.

I smiled, watching this is really good. Seeing your training bear fruits can make you feel really proud.

I began to walk in the direction of the blue dot , and sure enough , it's Ashley Williams.

I now am right in front of her, and can say with conviction , she is very beautiful. I give me hand to help her get up and she grabbed it.

'' Thanks for your help, Sir. I didn't think I was going to make it. Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams of the 212. Who are you?'' she introduced herself.

'' That's not important right now , are you wounded, Williams?'' I asked her and tried to find a wound or something like that.

'' Only a few scrapes and bruises. Nothing serious. The others weren't so lucky.'' She paused then continued,'' We were patrolling the perimeter when the attack hit. We tried to get off a distress call, but they cut off our communications. I've been fighting for my life ever since.'' She sounded tired.

'' it's okay now, I think that your message come through , they might arrive any moment now.'' I told her the truth.''

'' Well , I doubt I would have been alive for that long. Thank you for saving my life.'' She appears really emotional about this.

'' You're welcome. Now let's get out of here and see if we can safe anymore people.'' I said while passing her a new weapon that I picked up from a dead body.

'' Let's go.''

With Commander Shepard

Jenkins asked as soon as he sees the burned bodies , '' Oh my God. What happened here ? ''

I simply stared at what are the remains of at least 2 people and answered the soldier, '' I don't know … let's focus on find the Beacon and save people along the way.''

I said that and continued going through the path ahead of me. Nhilus is already in another place , and I am here with Alenko and Jenkins.

I signal to Jenkins go around the corner , and when he did I noticed 3 Drones right in front of him and screamed , '' Jenkins! Get down.''

I tried to warm him but it was too late. I could only watch as the body of a fellow soldier get on the ground.

Alenko and I started to fire on those drones , destroying them after hitting them around 10 times.

We are now looking at the corpse of Jenkins.

'' He was too young. He didn't deserve this.'' Alenko said.

'' We will give him a proper burial when we finish the mission.'' I patted Alenko on the shoulder and started to move , '' come on , maybe we can still save someone else.''

Surprisingly ,we passed through a forest without any enemies around.

'' Weird , I tough that we would encounter way more enemies here.'' I said and Alenko nodded.

''Me too.'' We just continued walking , and after a few minutes we finally find signs of life.

It's a man and a woman , and around them are at least 50 of those robots. All destroyed.

I put down my weapon and began to approach them.

With John

I really tough that an angel have descended. I mean , this person that is coming on me direction is beautiful. Red Hair and an intimidating air around her. I think I am in love already.

'' Hello. I am Commander Shepard, from the SSV Normandy. We received a distress signal and came here as fast as we could.'' She saluted me and Ash.

Ash returned the salute and said,'' Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams of the 212. Thank you for coming , we really could use your help.''

Then this angel turned her attention to me, waiting some answer of who I am. '' John Parker , civilian.''

All of them have a dumbfounded face, even Ash. Then she asked , '' What ?''

I simply shrugged my shoulder and told her the true, '' I was taking a vacation when this shit happened. I had a weapon and a armor so I did what I could and saved a lot of people. Just look at this place , it was full of those robots , now they are all death. Besides , you know what I am capable of.''

Shepard then began to look around the Prothean Dig Site in order to find the Beacon but it was not here, so I told her , '' If you are looking for something , someone took it from here right before me and Ash got here. Maybe it was the humans or those things.''

'' Ok … so Parker , you already did enough to help , now leave things to the professionals and go to safety.'' Alenko said.

I snorted, '' No offense but I alone must have killed 60 of those things. Besides , I doubt that this planet have any kind of safe place right now. I am going with you guys , to help.''

Shepard looked conflicted but then Ash come to help , '' Commander , I have seen him in action. He is probably strong than your average Alliance soldier. We could use a helping hand against those things.''

Shepard finally agreed and said ,'' Okay. Now tell me what the hell happened here.''

Ash then began talking, '' We are doing a perimeter check when those Geth attacked, then we tried to send a distress signal, but the signal got cut . We are lucky that something got through it and reached you guys.''

'' Then we got overwhelmed by their numbers and tried to double back to the Beacon, but we walked in to an ambush. I think I am the only survivor , and if not from Parker help , I would be dead too.''

'' Don't blame yourself , there was nothing you could do.'' Shepard tried to comfort her.

'' Beacon? Geth? What you guys are talking about?'' I feign ignorance in order to blend in as a clueless guy.

'' Sorry , it's classified.'' Shepard said.

'' But what are the Geth doing here? I thought that they haven't been outside the Veil in 200 years. Why here and why now ?'' Kaidan added to the conversation.

Ash then said looking defeated , ''They must be here from that Beacon, and now that Beacon is missing. We can only hope that it was the humans that took it.

'' Tell me everything you know about this Beacon.'' Shepard said.

Ash nodded and said, '' They were doing some digging out here to extend the monorail and expand the colony. A few weeks ago they unearthed some Prothean ruins...and the beacon. Suddenly, every scientific expert in the colony was interested. That's when they brought us in to secure the site. I don't know much about the beacon itself. But I heard one of the researchers say this could be the biggest scientific discovery of the century.''

I looked at them in shock , '' Hey , are you supposed to tell me that? It was a secret right ? Why did you guys talked about it right in front of me ? ''

They finally noticed my presence again. Shepard then said , '' You can keep a secret right ? '' I nodded ,'' Good, no problem then.''

'' You know what happened to the scientists at the dig site?''

'' I don't know. They are supposed to be here , at the dig site , with the 221. Now both of them are missing, and this is not a good sign.'' Ash said.

Shepard then said , '' You said that the Beacon is missing , right? Do you guys have any idea where is it?''

Ash nodded , '' I think if we go to the camp up ahead , we can find some clue about it.''

'' Then show me.''

We began to walk towards the research camp. I began to prepare myself, I didn't pass in this area before , it must have a lot of enemies.

I activated the Map and see that are no red dot. Weird , I am sure that this area was supposed to be where the husk are being made. Maybe because they are nothing attacking yet , so they are not recognized as enemies ?

Just as I was debating over this , I heard a voice from the helmet of Shepard , '' Change of plans, Shepard. There's a small spaceport up ahead. I want to check it out. I'll wait for you there.''

Shepard wanted to say something about the beacon but the Turian turned off the comm.

' I need to find a way to safe him, let's get over this quickly and go there.'

We reach the camp and Ash said , '' Looks like they hit the camp hard.''

And she was right , it looks like a massacre. They didn't even have a weapon to defend themselves.

Kaidan suddenly said ,'' This is a good place for an ambush. Keep your guard up.''

We are slowly going to the mid of the camp , when suddenly we see the spikes around the camp being lowered , and the humans turned husk began to come into our direction.

'' Oh God! They are still alive!'' Kaidan said while looking really disturbed.

'' What did the Geth do to them!?'' Ash said while shooting.

There is about 7 of them and the squad appears to have this handled. I only shot one time , killing one of those husks.

After we finished killed them , Ash looked around and reached a conclusion , '' It must take a few hours for the spikes to turn people into husks.''

Just as she said that, I grabbed my gun and shot one of those spikes down.

The trio looked at me.

''What?'' I asked , '' They might use it again if we leave it here .'' I told a half truth , I don't want Cerberus or any organization like that get ahold of things like this.

Kaidan shook his head and said , '' Now we know what those spikes are for: turning our own dead against us.''

The trio is looking quite disturbed about this situation.

'' All we have to do is kill those Geth guys you are talking about , right ? Avenge the people who lost their life is the least we can do.'' When I told them that , it appears to have lifted theirs spirits a bit.

'' You are right, now let's move on.'' Shepard said while looking at me with a different light .

We began to walk toward a shack that have 2 blue dot on it.

' It is time to leave for a while , save Nihlus and grab the Beacon'

'' Guys.'' They all turned to me , '' I have something sentimental that I forgot on my home. I will grab it and find you where the guy that talked with Shepard is waiting.''

Shepard nodded , '' Go on then. Be careful out there , we don't know how many of those Geth are really here.''

I simply waved at them and started to run towards the small spaceport.

Time to change destiny.

With Shepard

I watched as Parker started his way to his home.

'' Commander , what are you looking ? '' Ash asked.

''Nothing.'' I began to remember what she said about him and asked her , '' Ash , how strong is that guy?''

I asked with curiosity , because when we are fighting those husks he appears unperturbed , as if he is used to things like that.

Ash began to think and answered right after , '' At least he's more strong than me. I watched he taking care of those Geth like they are made of paper. If we had him from the beginning , i would not have lost the 212.''

'' That strong….'' I have decided, I will try and recruit him, we can't miss good soldiers like that.

As I was thinking how to recruit him , we reached a shack. Kaidan then knock on the door , '' Hello , is anyone there? We are alliance soldiers and have already take care of the danger nearby. It's safe now.''

The door opens and inside are two people, one of them that have a card in her chest , Dr. Warren said , '' Humans! Thank the Maker!''

The other one appears really afraid , almost maniac , '' Hurry! Close the door! Before they come back!''

Kaidan then said to them , '' Don't worry , we will protect you.''

Dr. Warren looked really reinvigorated , '' Thank you. I think we'll be okay now.'' Then she looked outside of the shack and see the not so good scene, '' It looks like everyone's gone.''

Ash then remembered who she was , '' You're Dr. Warren, the one in charge of the excavation. Do you know what happened to the Beacon?''

Dr. Warren nodded , '' It was moved to the spaceport this morning. Manuel and I stayed behind to help pack up the camp. When the attack came, the marines held them off long enough for us to hide. They gave their lives to save us.

'Damn, things aren't looking too good.' As I was about to ask another thing , the other person on the shack talked again , ''No one is saved. The age of humanity is ended. Soon, only ruin and corpses will remain.''

I ignored that from the time being and asked the Doctor, '' Did you see a Turian in the area ? ''

Just as she was starting to talk , the maniac interrupted again , '' I saw him. The prophet. Leader of the enemy. He was here, before the attack.''

Kaidan didn't let that pass and said, '' That's impossible. Nihlus was with us on the Normandy before the attack. He couldn't have been here.''

Dr. Warren said while looking at the assistant with pity , '' 'm sorry. Manuel's still a bit...unsettled. We haven't seen your turian. We've been hiding in here since the attack.''

I nodded but saved this information in the back of my mind, who knows , maybe it might come in handy in the future.

'' What about the Beacon? What can you tell me about it ? '' I asked.

For the first time since we entered the shack , Dr. Warren appears to talk with vigor and happiness , '' It's some type of data module from a galaxy-wide communications network. Remarkably well-preserved. It could be the greatest scientific discovery of our lifetime! Miraculous new technologies. Groundbreaking medical advances. Who knows what secrets are locked inside?''

But then Manuel , the crazy guy talked , '' We have unearthed the heart of evil. Awakened the beast. Unleashed the Darkness.''

'' Manuel! Please! This isn't the time.'' Dr. Warren said while looking defeated.

I raised an eyebrow. This is getting weird , he talks with a conviction that you don't see in a lunatic person.'' Ashley.'' I called .

'' Yes , commander. What do you need?"'

'' Your helmet have a camera on it ? '' I asked.

Ash looked surprised but answered , '' Yes sir , but I turned it off hours ago. Do you need me to turn it on again ? ''

'' Yes , please do it. And start to copy what this guy is saying. It might be nothing but it also could be something.'' I told her.

'' Aye aye , Commander . ''

I returned my attention to Dr. Warren and asked , '' What's wrong with your assistant?''

Dr. Warren said, '' Manuel has a brilliant mind, but he's always been a bit...unstable. Genius and madness are two sides of the same coin.''

Then Manuel said, '' Is it madness to see the future? To see the destruction rushing towards us? To understand there is no escape? No hope? No, I am not mad. I'm the only sane one left!''

I looked at Ash and she nodded , affirming to me that she is filming this.

Dr. Warren tried to justify his behavior , '' I gave him an extra dose of his meds after the attack.''

I already lost a lot of time , now we have to go to where Nhilus is.

'' Williams. Take us to the spaceport.'' I said to Ash. Then I looked at Dr. Warren and said, '' I think it's better if you guys stay inside here until more reinforcements come.''

She nodded and said , '' Good lucky out there , Commander.''

Just as we are leaving the door , Miguel said , '' You can't stop it. Nobody can stop it. Night is falling. The darkness of eternity.''

Dr. Warren tried to help the man , '' Hush, Manuel. Go lie down. You'll feel better once the medication kicks in.''

We then started to run towards the spaceport.

' I hope that nothing goes wrong.'

I am on the spaceport already. I could see Nihlus. And I also could see Saren in the distance, hiding. It's time to do it.

This will start a chain of reaction in which I cannot predict the outcome. I can only hope that what I am about to do is the right thing.

I turned on the camera on my helmet , just in case I need more evidence.

Nhilus now goes to cover and seconds later emerges from it with a weapon pointed at another Turian, Saren himself.

''Saren?'' Nhilus seemed really surprise in the presence of another Specter.

'' Nhilus.'' Saren just nodded.

'' This isn't your mission, Saren.'' Nhilus said that while lowering his weapon. '' What are you doing here?''

Saren then walked closer to Nhilus and put a hand on his shoulder, '' The Council thought you could use some help on this one.''

Nhilus then nodded, believing his fellow Turian. Then I watched Saren going behind him. It's time for me to move.

'' I wasn't expecting to find the geth here. The situation's bad.'' Nhilus added, not noticing that Sauren has a gun appointed to his head.

'' Don't worry. I got this under control.'' Just as he was about to pull the trigger, I spring into action.

'' No, you don't.'' I said while shooting the weapon out of his hand. He seemed shocked. Nhilus still don't get what is going on.

I was hidden on the left side, behind some crates. After revealing my position , I didn't run away , I ran in the direction of Saren.

Saren , now finally recovered , said to Nhilus , '' Shot him , he is with the enemy.'' And Nhilus believed. Now is 2 Specter against me. I like this.

I easily disarmed Nhilus with another accurate shot on a gun, and give him a kick that have sent him tumbling on the ground, and reached Sauren. We then began hand to hand combat.

The Turian Specter is more stronger than me but I am more faster , and have more experience. He tried to punch me , I avoided it be ducking and tried to punch his stomach , only to my hand be stopped by his.

' He is strong.' I reached this conclusion. Even in my older universe, I have never fight against someone this powerful. This is exciting.

He tried to throw me on the ground using the hand that he grabbed, but I manage to give a kick into his arms , freeing my hand and distancing myself from him. We stared at each other from distance. Just as I was about to go at him again, I feel a presence coming from my side, and it was Nhilus.

I have to retreat in order to defend the punch. I deflected it and give him a low kick, making him fall onto the ground. Then I said to him, '' You idiot , he was trying to shoot you. I saved your life.''

When I returned my attention to Sauren , he was not here anymore. He escaped when I was busy with Nhilus.

'' Goddamnit! '' I have to feign my anger. I did what I came to do , save Nhilus. Now , I wonder how much this will change..

I offered my help to Nhilus, but he's just glaring at me. '' You don't believe me ? '' I asked.

'' I don't even know who you are , and now you are telling me that my fellow Turian and a Specter was trying to kill me. Sorry , but it is hard to believe.'' He finally accepted my help and got up.

''If I wanted to kill both of you , I could have shot from behind that cover and you would never know what happened. '' I said some harsh true to him. '' I am here because Shepard told me to do so , he also said that a Turian was helping him , and I deduced it's you , so I rush in here and I come across that scene, the other Turian with a gun pointed to your head and ready to shot. I even have a video on it.''

Deciding to not giving him any moment to process this information, I continued , '' You have to face it , you fellow turian was ready to kill you. He betrayed you and possibly the Council. I am 90% sure that he is involved in this invasion on Eden Prime.''

I finally stopped talking, giving time to the Turian Specter to digest all those information. And from his face , I could see that he is thinking the same thing as me.

'Good. I managed to save him and now he will be another witness about Saren. This give us a lot of time to do things the right way.'

I also finally relaxed. I have changed destiny, now I have to wait and see what changes does this bring to the game. The game of wits between me and the Reapers. And i did the first move, let's see how they react.
