5. The Council, The Quarian and a BABY?

I have to say, Turians know how to drink. Nhilus almost beat me in our little game of drinking, but he lost in the end. We talked about our war stories, well, his stories. I listened with pleasure, always thinking of what I would have done in the same situation as him.

After that we, still being drunk, started to talk about the situation with Saren, '' Hey … now that some time have passed, are you fully okay with what happened?'' I asked the turian and take a huge mouthful of alcohol.

He looked at me, '' I have never thought that Saren would have done something like that. Not only he betrayed the Council, he betrayed me, a fellow turian and Spectre. And the worse thing is that we don't even know what he is planning or if he have more help than the Geth.'' He finished speaking and took a sip from his beer.

I only looked at him, I didn't even say anything because I know he's not done talking,'' Now, we have to go appeal to the Council , who , only between us , is not that great. They are indecisive when it came to subjects like this, even more so when it involves their incompetence.''

I raised an eyebrow, '' Are you sure you could talk about this with me?''

'' I am drunk, so it doesn't matter.'' He takes another sip and continues,'' John, now listen to me. Even with my testimony, I don't believe that the Council will believe that Saren, their most loyal Specter , have betrayed them. I know that you have video on it but only to be sure , don't reveal it until the last minute and go after more proof of his betrayal , and then we can watch Saren fall more and more into his lies, then the Council will have no choice but to believe us.''

Look at that! He already predicted the future. '' Sure Nhilus, I will do it, I will look for more proofs to get Saren for good. Now , l think it is time to stop drinking and go to sleep , I believe that we are almost arriving on the Cidatel.''

After that I helped him get to his room and started to roam around the ship again. I ended up in the Engineering level.

There, I found Ashley, '' Heyy, Ash.''

She looked at me and smiled, '' Hey John, how are you doing ? ''

'' I'm doing a lot better now that I have slept for more than 10 hours, that Beacon hit me good. And you , how are you doing after what happened and Eden Prime? '' I began to get more close to her and sat down near her position.

'' To tell you the true that hit me a little more harder than I have thought, but I am managing well , considering everything.''

I put a hand on her shoulder, '' Now that you're part of this crew, just like me, '' she looked at me with her eyes wide open, '' you have someone that you can rely on.''

'' John, that's awesome. How could you enter if you are only a civilian?'' she looked excited.

'' It is because I Am awesome.'' I grinned,'' and you are the person in this ship that I have passed most of my time with, so I thought to give you the news personally.''

'' That is really incredible, John. Congratulations.'' She offered her hand.

I looked at it for a moment before lunging forward and giving her a bear hug. She appears to be shocked at the begging but just accepted at the end.

After that we began to talk about her and her family, her grandfather, her past, all that. We didn't even notice the time passing, and when we noticed, 2 hours have already gone.

'' Wow Ash, we have spent a lot of time talking. I need to tell Kaidan the news as well.'' I told her while getting up from my sit.

'' Go ahead John. This conversation … was really good. See you later.'' She told me while smiling.

After that I began to look for Kaidan and found him on the Quarters, ''Kaidan.''

The soldier looked at me,'' John. I heard that you have woken up. How are you feeling?''

'' I am good now, but I am here to talk about others things.'' I smiled and just as i was about to tell him he spoke first.

'' About you being accepted in the Crew, right? Congratulation, you know how to fight and is a nice addition to the team.'' He just talked like it was nothing and offered his hand.

I was dejected but shook his hand any way. Kaidan then noticed my face,'' Why are you looking like you just eaten something bad?''

'' It is because I wanted to tell the news personally, but someone has already told you. I wanted to see your surprised face.'' I told the guy.

'' Oh .. '' he noticed his blunder,'' well… anyway, congratulations again.''

And just like Ash we began to talk about his life and everything, and when we noticed, more 2 hours have passed.

'' Bye Kaidan, it was a pleasure talking with you.'' I waved at him while going off to explore the ship , again.

Ash is easy going and Kaidan is a bit too serious, now let's see how Joker is. Captain Anderson, Dr. Chakwas and Shepard, I will talk with them later too.

And now here I am, on the cockpit. ''Hey there.''

Joker jumped a little, surprised about the sudden person talking with him,'' Ohh , hello. You might be John, right?''

I nodded,'' And you must be our pilot, Joker. I heard about your skills in piloting spaceships are second to none.''

'' As you can see it, it is all true.'' The pilot smiled.

'' Do you mind if I sit here? '' I pointed at a vacant seat next to him and he nodded,'' Thank you. Can you tell me how much time left until we reach the Cidatel?''

''3 more hours until we arrive in the Cidatel. Do you need something from me?'' Joker asked.

He still must be a little suspicious of me, I mean, I joined the crew less than 10 hours ago and he doesn't know nothing about me. ''I wanted to know some of the crew before we arrive in the Citadel. I already talked with a lot of people and now I want to talk with you, to meet you better.''

He looked like realization just descended upon him, ''So that is why. Then my friend, I hope you like to listen, because I will not stop until yours ears are bleeding.''

'' Go ahead.'' I told him and listened for the next 3 hours, about his existing adventures. I didn't care, because it was the chance to know a lot of the character from the game. I really liked talking with them.

As we are talking, Shepard suddenly appeared, she didn't get the chance to say anything as Joker started to talk, '' Good timing, Commander. I was just about to bring us in to the Citadel. See that taxpayer money at work.''

Then we passed through the Mass Relay, and the Citadel is right in front of us. No matter how many times I see it, it is beautiful.

We then watched a huge spaceship pass right in front of us.

'' Look at the size of that ship!'' Ash said looking really excited.

Kaidan then give us more info about it, ''The Ascension. Flagship of the Cidatel fleet.''

Joker then said,'' Well, size isn't everything.''

''Why so touchy, Joker?'' Ash said jokingly.

'' I'm just saying you need firepower too.'' Joker said while passing at the said of the Ascension.

Ash, now with a better view of the ship said,'' Look at that monster! Its main gun could rip through the barriers on any ship in the Alliance fleet.''

Joker looked like he just swallowed a bitter fruit.

Kaidan added, ''Good thing it's on our side then.''

Joker then began to ask authorization to land, '' Citadel Control, this is SSV Normandy requesting permission to land.''

They give us the authorization needed, than we landed on the Dock 422.

The we began to make our way to the exit of the ship, when Anderson, who as in the front, suddenly stopped and said, '' We are going to talk with Udina regarding this incident. Ashley, Kaidan and Shepard are coming with me. John … you are free to go around or follow us. Nhilus, what are you doing next? ''

'' As I have said to John, I believe that the Council will not believe the truth and we will need more proof. Not even my word would be enough. So I will go after more evidence, in the mean time you go talk with this Udina. I will meet you guys later, before you encounter the Council.'' Nhilus said while getting out of the ship.

Anderson then looked at me,'' I believe him, the Council will not believe us. So I will go after evidence as well. See you guys later.'' I said while getting out of the ship.

I didn't go too far because the elevator hasn't arrived yet. When it arrived, everyone entered. The atmosphere was really awkward. I mean, Nhilus said that he was going to search for evidence with such determination, but he was stopped by an elevator.

After parting our ways, Nhilus going to a place and the crew going to the Citadel Embassies, I began to make my way to a person that knows what I need.

After 5 minutes of walk, I finally arrived. I am at the Financial District of the Presidium.

I found the place I was looking for, Barla Von office, an agent of the Shadow Broker. I entered it, '' Hello, is anyone here?''

A volus appeared from the inside of the office, '' Hello, how can I help you?''

I started to look around anxiously as if looking for something, '' Can we speak inside? I need something from you.'' I did my best to look like a frightened person, so that he can accept me inside his office.

I bet that if a volus had an eyebrow visible, he would be raising it, ''... Okay, you can come in.'' he guided me to a small room inside his office, '' What can I do to help you?"'

I dropped the facade as soon as he seated in front of me,'' Let's cut the crap and go to the point. I need information.''

He look taken aback, and before he began to talk, I interrupted him, '' I know that you work for the Shadow Broker , and now I need information. Of course, in return I will give you information as well.''

He stayed quiet for some time, '' What do you need to know, Earth-clan?''

'' Before that, I will give you information.'' He just nodded,'' Saren has gone rogue and he has an army of Geth at his disposal, I already know that your boss had some suspicions, but now I have proof. He is the responsible for the attack in Eden Prime. And he will soon, if not have already, betray the Shadow Broker.''

He put a hand on his chin,'' How I am supposed to believe you, a nobody? ''

I shrugged my shoulder, '' Believe me or not, I am working with the Commander Shepard to stop Sauren, and soon you will attain information just like mine, the difference is that I am just the first one to show actual evidence of it.''

'' How can you be so sure of it?'' he asked again.

'' I was there, I have seen it. I have video of it. I will show it now, but the video will stay with me. After the video is played, I will need to be paid. Is that okay with you?'' I said while tapping my omni-tool.

He looked conflicted for a moment before nodding,'' Okay, I will answer anything that you want, if the video that you have is true.''

After I showed him the video, he excused himself. I believe that he is going to pass the information to others agents that work with the Shadow Broker, or to the Shadow Broker himself.

He came back after 10 minutes,'' Earth-clan, what info do you need? '' he must have confirmed that Saren have betrayed the Shadow Broker, because now he is treating me with more respect.

'' I need more proof about Saren betraying the Council. I believe that your boss already has it or at least knows someone that has this information.'' I told him and waited for the news.

'' To tell you the truth ,we have already received the rumors of Saren betrayal , but now that you have the actual footage of it happening , we have to believe.'' He told me. '' Normally this information would cost a small fortune, but due to your own information, we believe that is a fair trade. I don't know the details, but the Shadow Broker hired a freelancer to deal with it, a krogan mercenary. Speak with him for more information, if you hurry you might catch him at the C-Sec Academy.'' The volus then asked,'' Do you need any other information?''

'' I have two more request. Do you know any Specialist in Prothean Society? I need one urgently.'' I smiled,'' and I need the contact of the Doctor Mordin Solus.''

After leaving the Volus behind, I called Shepard right away, '' Shepard , I got a clue about the evidence we need.''

'' Me too, we are in the medical center following a lead, a Turian that might know something. Call me if you discover anything.'' She turned the call off.

So she is going to encounter Garrus and now. Everything is going nicely.

Then I started going to the location of Wrex , the most badass Krogan around the Galaxy.

When I arrived there, at the C-Sec Academy, the Krogan was making a scene with the guards. I called out to him immediately, '' Hey.'' All of the guards and Wrex turned their attention to me,'' I was told that there is a krogan here with the info I needed.''

The guards then looked at each other and began to leave one by one.

Wrex then started to approach me,'' Do I know you, human? ''

He glared at me and I glared back at him,'' My name is John Parker. I am after an evidence against Saren. The volus told me that you would fill me in.''

'' Ha,'' he began to snarl at me, '' I will give you a clue. We need to kill a guy named Fist, he did something he shouldn't have. That's it.'' He said that and began to walk away.

''Right now? And does he have evidence against Saren?'' I asked.

The answer was a nod. '' How can you trust me with this information, a person you have just met? '' I asked, feeling a little curious.

'' HA! I'm starting to like you, you have guts. And I'm only following my instinct, and they say that you are good. That's it.'' Wrex is a legend.

We then entered the elevator, going to Chora's Den.

'' Are we expecting trouble?'' I asked the Krogan.

'' I am always expecting trouble.'' He said while taking out his shotgun.

I imitate him, taking out my gun, and he looked at me, ''What? '' I asked

'' How can you trust a Krogan this easily?'' he asked.

I checked me gun then looked at him, '' Call it a Human intuition. And they said that you are good.'' I told him, and for the grin on his face, he must have liked it.

Then our elevator arrived at the Lower Wards and we began to make our way to the bar.

It was supposed to be empty, but I have already seen at least 20 red dots after activating the map. I told Wrex to stop and filled him in,'' 20 people inside, all hidden and waiting an opportunity. What do you want to do?''

He simply said, '' CHARGE.'', while barging in the bar. I followed right behind.

The fight was not pretty, a lot of heads rolling and blood flying, but we managed well. Wrex is really a machine when it came to fighting.

After cleaning up the lobby, I asked,'' Where is this guy? And does he really have a evidence against Saren?''

'' He must be at the office, inside there,'' he pointed at the back of the bar,'' and he does know someone that have the evidence. After dealing with him, I will help you get that info.''

''Thank you.'' Then we started to go to the office, when I noticed 2 blue dots up ahead, hiding.

When we get to the area where they are hiding, I said,'' Hey, I know that you guys are hiding here. I'll give you 3 seconds to show up with yours arms raised, or we'll start shooting. One, two, t …'' before I finished they showed up.

'' D—on't, don't shoot!" The two began to rise from their hiding spot, trembling.

I looked at Wrex, '' Can I deal with this one?'' The answer was a nod.

''Good. Now both of you listen,'' They looked at me. '' What are you doing, working with this guy?''

'' We are Sorry! It was easy money! We didn't know that we would have being involved with something like this!'' Both said, while pleading for their lifes.

Outside, my face looked conflicted, but inside I wasn't, ''This is your last warning, get out of this life and get a nice job. Now get out of our way.''

They started to run so fast that they looked like a gust of wind.

Wrex then started to go in the direction of Fist office, '' Why did you let them go?'' he asked.

'' Almost everyone deserves a second chance. I believe that was the case for those two.'' I told him.

Then we arrived at Fist office. I know that inside have 2 turrets ready to fire upon us, so I offered to go on the front.

I motioned to Wrex take down the Door and he did. Then a lot of bullets came into my direction, but I easily stopped it with my Barrier.

Now, I will not hold back when it came to using my Biotics Powers, I am already strong enough to protect myself and the others.

After the bullets stopped, and we destroyed the turrets, we noticed someone hiding behind the desk. It was Fist himself, ''Wait! Don't kill me! I surrender.'' He threw himself on the ground.

'' I am only after information about Saren , tell me everything that you know about it.'' I said while pointing my weapon to him.

'' Okay, okay! Just don't kill me! ,'' he take a deep breath,'' A Quarian said that she have information on Sauren betrayal , but I don't know where she is.''

Wrex looked at me,'' So, he's no use to you now, kid. Let me kill him.''

'' W-ait! Wait! I don't know where the quarian is, but I know where you can find her.'' He said.'' ' The quarian isn't here. Said that she would only deal with the Shadow Broker himself.

''Face to face? Impossible! Even I was hired through an agent.'' Wrex added.

Fist then began to rise from the ground,'' Nobody meets the Shadow Broker. Ever. Even I don't know his true identity. But she didn't know that. I told her that I would set up a meeting. But when she shows up , it will be Saren's men waiting for her.''

'' Where is that meeting?'' I asked in a hurry.

''Here on the wards. On the back alley by the markets. She is supposed to meet them right now. You can make in time if you hurry.'' He said.

I nodded and suddenly Wrex takes out his shotgun and shot Fist in the chest, killing him instantly. I didn't look that surprised because I knew that he would do this. ''Let me guess, you are after him because he betrayed the Shadow Broker or something like that? ''

Wrex nodded '' Something like that,'' he said while putting his shotgun away,'' are you not angry?"'

'' As I have said before, some people deserve a second chance, he was not one of them.'' To tell you the truth, I don't remember what happened to him if you let him live , so it doesn't matter that much.

I take the opportunity and grabbed Fist stuff.

'' I am starting to like you more and more, kiddo. Now let's go save that quarian.'' Wrex said while leaving Fist office. On our way out, I noticed 4 blue dot in the entrance of the bar.

Must be Sheppard and the rest. Wrex and I exited the bar and 'suddenly' there was an ambush.

To show them that I was good addition to the crew, I simply knocked all four of them on the ground with a little bit of biotics. It helped that I already knew theirs position before the ambush.

I pointed my gun right at the nearest person and then 'noticed' that was Kaidan ,'' Kaidan ? What are you doing here? '' I asked before talking with Wrex , '' Hey , Wrex , they are with me.''

I offered my hand to Kaidan , and after he got up he said , '' We are following a lead about the evidence against Sauren.''

I looked around to Ash , Shepard and now Garrus , and talked ,'' We already have that info. By the way , this is Wrex , my new friend.'' I pointed at the Krogan who just snarled. '' Now, let's go. We are running out of time.''

The reaction from the Crew was mixed, some are impressed about my new friend and others are not.

I started to make my way to the location of the quarian while telling the squad our information, '' There is a quarian that have evidence against Sauren , but she is in danger. We will find her, secure the information and go talk with the Council.''

We arrived in the location before the ambush started, and we could see the Quarian up ahead. I suggested that we hide, until the right time ,'' Commander , how about we hide until she sees that she was betrayed? Then we save her, and she will trust us more that way.''

I will hide the fact that I wanted Tali to see me as her savior.

Shepard just nodded,'' John, you are really good in this situation. Accepting you in our crew was the right thing to do.''

I was about to introduce myself to Garrus when I noticed a Turian getting closer to the Quarian and asking, '' Did you bring it? ''

The quarian asked, '' Where is the Shadow Broker? Where is Fist?''

The turian started to pressure her, '' They will be here. Where is the evidence?''

The turian tried to touch the quarian but she brushed his hand aside, '' No way. The deal is off.''

Then the turian started to back away from her, and she noticed 2 assassins near her. She throws a grenade right in front of them, killing both.

More 6 assassins entered the alley, but before they even had a chance to do anything, I rushed towards them, using the Biotic Charge.

I managed to knock all of them to the ground, before shooting and killing all of them.

After saving Tali, and surprising the squad once again because I didn't even let them do anything, I helped the quarian get up ,'' Are you okay ? Are you hurt? ''

She accepted my hand and now is standing right in front of me, '' I know how to look after myself. Not that I don't appreciate the help. Who are you?.''

'' Beauty , my name is John Parker. 19 years old, human, single and member of the SSV Normandy,'' I said while grabbing her hand and give it a kiss, '' Those people behind me are my crew.'' I was about to introduce everyone to the quarian , but she was stunned about my kiss on her hand. Maybe the quarians didn't know about this gesture? But all people in here look surprised too. Weird.

''What is up?'' I asked the squad.

'' John, you might not know about this but .. generally, the quarians are a rather disliked species, almost all quarians are treated like crap by others.'' Shepard told me.

I looked surprised , but then began to remember the game. Yes, a lot of quarians are treated like garbage , but I will not let this affect my judgment. ''So what? You guys are surprised about the kiss on the hand? This was nothing to me , I would do it again with no problem.''

The quarian , that have finally recovered , said ,'' T-thank you. But now, can you tell me about who you guys are ? '' she said while pointing behind me.

Shepard took the lead,'' As John have said , we are also from the Normandy. Well, some of us. This is Kaidan , Ashley , Garrus , Wrex . '' Shepard pointed at each person during the introduction.

'' And my name is Shepard. I am looking for evidence to prove Saren is a traitor.'' The commander completed the introduction.

'' Then I have a chance to repay you guys for saving my life. But not here, we need to go somewhere safe.'' The quarian said.

Garrus gave us an idea ,'' We could take her to the human embassy. Your embassador will want to see this anyway.''

Shepard nodded,'' That is a good choice , let go there.'' She said while making her way to the elevator.

Now is my chance to talk with Garrus ,'' Hey.'' I started to talk with him,'' my name is John Parker. What is yours?''

'' Garrus, Garrus Vakarian.'' The turian introduced himself.

''Nice to meet you, Garrus. How did you get involved with our beloved Shepard?'' I asked the turian.

He started telling me how he met her,'' I discussed with my supervisor about the rumors that Saren have betrayed the Council. I followed a clue that led me to the clinic of . Shepard entered the clinic, just as I was battling the enemy, that have ambushed me. There we discovered about the quarian, and meet you.''

'' Wow, what a coincidence. Nice to have you with us. You will join the crew after this?'' I asked the turian.

'' I don't know, but I want to take down Saren for what he have done. '' he says.

I nodded,'' Yes , me too.''

Then I noticed Shepard and Wrex talking about something, Kaidan and Ash discussing as well , and Tali is just looking around.

We continued our little conversation until we arrived at the Embassies. Then started to going to Udina location.

We arrived at the office , and when we entered , Udina started to talk with his back turned to us,'' You're not making my life easy, Shepard. Firefights in the wards? An all-out assalt on Chora's Den?''

That was me, sorry about that.

He continued, '' Do you know how many—''

When he finally turned around to face us, he noticed Tali ,'' Who's this? A quarian? What are you up to, Shepard? ''

'' Making you day, Ambassador. She has information linking Saren to the Geth.'' Shepard said while tried to suppress her smug face.

''Really? Maybe you better start at the beginning, Miss…?'' Udina now started to look at Tali with little less suspicious.

Tali then introduced herself again,'' My name is Tali. Tali' Zorah nar Rayya.''

The Udina started asking questions,'' We don't see many quarians here. Why did you leave the flotilla?''

'' I was on my Pilgrimage, my rite of passage into adulthood.'' Tali said.

Shepard said, '' I've never heard of this before.''

'' It is a tradition among my people, when we reach maturity, we leave the ships of our parents and our people behind. Alone, we search the stars, only returning to the flotilla once we have discovered something of value. In this way, we prove ourselves worthy of adulthood.''

Shepard, that I presume doesn't know that we are in a hurry, asked again,'' What kinds of things do you look for? ''

Tali continued explaining,'' It could be resources like food or fuel. Or some type of useful technology. Or even knowledge that will make life easier on the flotilla. Through our Pilgrimage, we prove that we will contribute to the community, rather than being a burden on our limited resources.''

Shepard finally looked satisfied,'' Thank you. Now, tell us what you found.''

'' During my travel I began hearing reports of Geth. Since they drove my people into exile, the geth have never ventured beyond the Veil. I was curious. I tracked a patrol of geth to an uncharted world. I waited for one to become separated from its unit. Then I disabled it and removed its memory core.'' She said.

'' What did you find?'' Captain Anderson, who has been here since the beginning, asked.

'' Most of the core was wiped clean. But I salvaged something from its audio banks.'' She was about to show us the audio that will put a target on Sauren back.

As they are talking, I grabbed Ash and pulled her to the side ,'' Did you guys meet the Council already ?''

She nodded.

'' How was it?'' I asked, but I already knew the answer. I even warned them about it.

'' The meeting was a disaster, we should have listened to you and Nhilus. They didn't believe us, but they send us to find more proof. With your video, Nhilus testimony and , possibly , the audio from the quarian , we have everything that we need .'' she said.

'' Did you guys did anything else?'' I asked, curious if they have done the side quests.

'' Yes, do you want to know about it?.'' I nodded, '' When we get back to Normandy I will tell you.''

I thanked her and both of us got back to their positions, just in time to listen to the recording.

''Eden Prime was a major victory! The beacon has brought us one step closer to find the Conduit.''

Right after the recording stopped, Anderson said ,'' That's Saren voice. This proves he was involved in the attack!''

Shepard nodded,'' Saren won't get out of this one.''

Then Tali interrupted, '' Wait… there's more. Saren wasn't working alone.'' Then she continued the recording.

'Eden Prime was a major victory! The beacon has brought us one step closer to find the Conduit.''- Saren

'' And one step closer to the return of the Reapers.'' A female voice said.

Udina said right after the recording ended, '' I don't recognize that other voice, the one talking about Reapers.''

'' I feel like I've heard that name before.'', Shepard said while scratching her head, trying to remember something about it.

'' According to the memory core, the Reapers were a hyper-advanced machine race that existed 50.000 years ago. The Reapers hunted the Protheans to total extinction, and then they vanished. At least, that's what the geth believe.'' Tali answered.

''Sounds a little far-fetched.'' Udina said, not believing about it.

'' But it is true.'' All the eyes on the room turned to me ,'' Shepard , about the visions… it is about this, showing what happened with the Protheans, all that death , destruction … it was those Reapers.''

Shepard looked like she was in a little pain, scratching her head again,'' Yes … you're right. The vision on Eden Prime, I understand it now. We saw the Protheans being wiped out by the Reapers.''

'' The geth revere the Reapers as gods, the pinnacle of non-organic life. And they believe Sauren knows how to bring the Reapers back.'' Tali added.

'' This is trouble. A race that put the Protheans, a race that was more advanced than us, to extinction is not a good sign.'' I said and the whole room stayed in silence.

Udina then managed to say,'' The Council is just going to love this!''

'' The Reapers are a threat to every species in Cidatel space. We need to tell them.'' Shepard said while looking determined.

'' I bet 1000 credits that they will not believe us. Who is with me?'' I asked.

Before Anderson had the opportunity to talk, I already began my introduction,'' Hello Udina. My name is John Parker, 19 years old, member of the SSV Normandy. My ultimate goal in life is a har—cough , is to be stronger than anyone else. Nice to meet you.'' I almost let my dream became public, I have to be more careful.

Udina was about to curse me, but Anderson said first,'' Leave it to later, Udina. We have something going on that is far more important.''

'' No matter what they think about the rest of this recording, those audio files prove Saren's a traitor.'' Anderson completed.

'' Don't forget about my video and Nhilus testimnony.'' I added.

Udina glared at me, '' The Captain is right. We need to present this to the Council right away.''

Wrex suddenly said, '' What about her? The quarian.'' He is already caring for her, what a krogan.

'' My name is Tali!'' the quarian responded. Look at that! That's my girl.

Then she looked at Shepard, '' You saw me in the alley , Commander. You know what I can do. Let me come with you.''

Before Shepard could say anything, I charged ahead and grabbed Tali hands again ,'' Sure , we would love to see in the Crew. I already know the better place for you, near the engine. Right, Shepard?"

Shepard just sighed while the rest of the room, minus Udina , started to smirk. '' You can join us. I will take all the help that I can get.''

''Nice one, Shepard.'' I give her thumbs up. Then I heard a cough. It was Tali.

'' Can you please let go of my hand?'' she asked. If I could only see her face … maybe she is embarrassed?

'' Suuure…'' I unfortunately had to let it go.

Then she started to walk behind Shepard, '' Thanks. You won't regret this.''

Udina then said, '' Anderson and I will go ahead to get things ready with the Council. Take a few minutes to collect yourself, the meet us in the Tower.''

Then both of them got out of the office, leaving me , Shepard , Kaidan , Ash , Garrus , Wrex and Tali behind.

'' If you have things to do , then go ahead and do it. I still have to do some things, we will meet at the tower.'' Shepard said and everyone, except me, got out of the room.

'' You don't have anything to do?'' she asked.

''No, I only need to call Nhilus and inform him about everything.'' I told her.

'' So… you want to go with me to a place?'' she asked.

'' Where?''

''Consort's Chamber. I did something for an Asari there and now I will go and tell her about it.'' She told me.

'' I am in.'' maybe I could ask the Consort to meld with me, who knows.

Then we left the Embassies and started to go to the Consort. When we arrived there, the receptionist let us through without any stop.

I was left in awe, at the asari around me. I have never seen a Asari personally before this. They are beautiful.

I didn't even notice that we have arrived at our destination. Now, we are at the door of the Consort.

Shepard knocked on the door, and the it opened. There was an Asari in the middle of the room.

''Commander. I recently received a lovely note from Septimus. Thank you for speaking with him. Even the elcor diplomat has withdrawn his campaign against me.'' The Asari Consort said while looking at Shepard with gratitude.

'' It was my honor to aid you.'' Shepard said to the Asari.

'' You're too kind, Commander. But I would not expect you to help me out of the kindness of your heart. I have one more thing to give you, if you are interested.'' The Asari said.

''I'd be honored.'' Shepard said.

Then the asari started to say something that I didn't pay any attention, I was only hopping that when the talk ends, Shepard ask for something else.

After 3 minutes of talking, she finally stopped,'' Remember these words when doubt descends, Commander.''

'Now! Go Shepard, tell her that is not enough.'

'' You have quite a gift, Sha'ira.'' Shepard said.

Nooooo , I will not let this opportunity pass ,'' But that is all ?'' I asked the Consort.

The Consort turned her attention to me,'' Who are you and what more do you want?'' she said sweetly.

'' I helped Shepard take care of your 'problem'. And to tell you the truth, I want to experience a meld with an Asari. I heard it is quite nice and I thought that you can do it for me and for Shepard.'' I said, not realizing the implication of my words.

The asari looked at Shepard and asked,'' Are you okay with this , Commander ?''

Shepard, who also did not noticed the implication of the words,'' Sure, I guess?''

''Very well. Both of you, close your eyes and relax.'' I closed it and felt the Consort get right in front of me and Shepard. Then she touched us, and I felt it.

All of Shepard memories and a little of Shi'ara as well. They probably could see mine, but I didn't worry that much. Keepor is an Angel, I doubt that he would let the information of heavens to leak out.

Then I remembered that I was the most powerful Biotic in the universe, wasn't it bad if they knew about this?... Well, who cares? Let's just enjoy the situation.

I didn't know much about the Melding, I only knew that the Asari can create a link between their nervous system and that of the partner. It also let the participants share a little of their thoughts and other things that I don't remember.

So, what we are experiencing is a process of the meld , or something more? Because what I remember from the game, it does not involve anything like this. Liara and Shepard, in the first game, they only shared memories and that's it, I thought that we would do something similar. So … what the hell happened?

I mean, I am in a 'space'. I remember it from Mass Effect 3 and Andromeda. Wasn't it supposed to be extremely personal? Why I am here?

Suddenly, the feeling of Sha'ira started to get stronger and I could 'feel' her presence. Then she materialized right in front of me.

'' Hum…. Was all this supposed to happen? '' I asked feeling a little bit nervous. I mean, I just did something that I have never experienced before. I just watched all Shepard memories, and could feel a little of what she felt… This is insane.

I have touched a little of Sha'ira memories and feelings, but just a little. It seems that she blocked the access to it.

The asari Consort then said amazed,'' You—You're incredible! Your power is insane, not even the most powerful asari can be close to your power! Who are you?''

'' I didn't even introduced myself right? Sorry about that – My name is John Parker, 19 years old , single and member of SSV Normandy.'' I officially introduced myself to her.

'' Now… could you tell me what happened? Even I, who only know the basics of the Asari meld, know that something is wrong. I am naked and in a space. Care to explain?'' I asked again. I am really surprised about this situation, I have no idea of what is happening.

The asari looked apologetic,'' That was my doing.'' I simply raised my eyebrow.

She must have guessed my intention,'' After I have watched your memories, and could see the great power that you possess, I decided to do something very impulsive.… I started to 'map' your genome.''

'' Wait a second… you are telling me what I think you are telling me? '' my mind started to spin in a velocity that I didn't know it could. A baby with an Asari!

'' Yes… and I'm sorry!'' she started to apologize,'' but I couldn't let go of this opportunity. Any asari that you meld with will do the same as I did, I guarantee this to you.''

'' Aren't you too old to do this? Don't you take some kind of contraceptive? And what do you mean you already did?'' I am going crazy with this situation.

'' The asari can live way more than thousand years John, I am only 700 years old. And yes, I used to use contraceptive but I stopped more than hundred years ago, because I learned to control the process of giving life. And… the time that you spent here… it was enough for me to do what I needed to do. '' she dropped a bomb.

''Why didn't you ask me about this?'' I managed to calm down and think rationally.

'' I thought that you would have rejected. Again, I'm sorry but I couldn't resist, your mind is unlike any other that I have met, your biotics powers are the strongest that I have ever seen. I could not let this opportunity pass.'' She told me.

I let out a sigh,'' To tell you the truth … I wouldn't care that much if you asked me… '' I let out another sigh,'' but what's done is done. How are you going to do it? You will maintain contact with me or something like that? And what happened to Shepard?'' I simply accepted the situation.

'' I will pass you my contact, you can keep talking with me through it. I will keep you updated about the situation. And John, thank you for accepting this.'' She said while passing all her personal info through memories.

'' Regarding the Commander… the situation is a little …'' she appears awkward,'' it is better if I explain it to you first.''

She started to explain,'' Look, when I started the meld with both of you , my intention was only to give pleasure , so I did it. But … when I read your memories, I stopped supervising this process, and things may have gone out of my control…''

What? '' What?'' What ?

'' Our bodies did things … automatically. While I was mapping your genome and pleasuring Shepard through our mind, our body… did the same thing.''

Every time that Sha'ira talks about something, more and more shocking news come forward.

'' So, you are telling me that I just had a threesome with Shepard and you? '' she nodded.

I may have let out a scream. After calming myself down, I questioned the asari,'' She is okay?''

'' She is beyond okay, she is feeling a lot of things and none of them is a bad thing.''

'' How do we get out of this place?'' I asked.

'' I will end the meld now. John, thank you again. I will take good care of her, and keep you informed about its life.'' And just like that I was gone from that 'space'.

I woke up with a naked Shepard into my right arm and Sha'ira on my left one. I shameless started to inspect the body of both of them.

Asari really don't have any hair on their body, nice to know that. And Shepard … let's just say that she is a redhead in others places as well.

Then both of them started to wake up. Sha'ira was the first one to wake up, but she didn't look like she want to let go of my arm. I just smiled at her and let her do as she pleased.

Shepard was next. She just looked around, and noticed my face right next to her,'' Hello sweetheart, How are you? Did you like it?'' I joked about the situation but I am freaking out as well.

She started to realize the situation, but she is not a kid anymore and didn't scream, she just asked,'' What the hell happened here?''

'' Well … you know what happened. Sha'ira will explain better.'' Both of them still hasn't let go of my arms.

Shepard, still lying down, looked at the asari across her,'' I made a mistake. The gift was something like this, but not actually this. I hope you will understand.'' Commander didn't say anything, just nodded.

The asari finally let go of my hand and started to get dressed. Why I had I feeling that she didn't want to let go?

Now that one of my naked companions got dressed, I started to stare at the other.

She noticed,'' Hey! STOP starring.'' She gave me a weak punch and started to get up. She put her clothes in a hurry.

I let out a sigh and started to get up. Then I noticed both of them looking to my groin region,'' What?'' I asked and looked at it as well. Yes, it is all good.

Then the two of them stared at each other in shock and started to whisper to one another.

I couldn't hear what they are saying but I guess it is a good thing. '' Did you see my clothes?''

They pointed at the ground near me,'' Thank you. What are you guys talking?'' I asked them.

'' About your tool and technique, they are incredible.'' The asari said and looking at Shepard she is nodding, so it must be true.

''Thank you.'' I finished dressing up and was ready to go. We lost 2 hours here , Anderson and the others must have been waiting.

'' No, I have to thank you.'' The asari consort said while smiling.

Then Shepard and I started to leave the office, but before we left i stopped at the door and talked with Shi'ara, '' Hey, anything that you need, just give me a call okay? I will be here to help.'' I put a mark everywhere in her office and a little on her as well.

She nodded and waved at us,'' Commander and Parker, it was really a pleasure. If both of you want to come for another visit, I will open up my agenda for both.''

We then left the Consort Chambers and started to go to the elevator.

'' So… do you want to talk about it?'' I asked Shepard.

'' No.'' her answer was direct.

'' Okay. But let me tell this, I liked it and would do it again. If you need me, I will be there for you, anytime.'' I honestly said. I am doing all this to protect her and the galaxy.

She stared at me for a really long time before nodding.

This is a good sign, maybe she like me a little.

Then I remembered that we forgot to call Nhilus, so I started to call him, ''Nhilus, it is me, John.''

'' Oh, it is you. What do you need my friend? Did you find any evidence against Saren?'' the turian asked.

'' Yes, we are going to meet the Council now. We need your testimony.'' I told him the truth.

''On my way.'' The turian is one of the best evidence that we have.

After the call was turned off, the elevator have a strange atmosphere, so I tried to break it,'' Hey , Ash said that you guys have done a lot of things when I was out, do you mind telling me all of them?'' I need to know which side quest they got.

'' We did a lot of things … '' for what she told me, she grabbed all possible side quests available. We are going to be busy.

Finally the elevator arrived at the top floor. It is time to meet the Council.

We got out of the elevator and started going to the location of the meeting. We encountered with Ash and Kaidan along the way. They kind of noticed the strange atmosphere around us.

'' Are you guys alright?'' Ash asked.

And then, both of us answered at the same moment,'' '' Yes '' ''.

Ash and Kaidan didn't believe us. Kaidan tried talking with me,'' Did something happen?''

I looked at Shepard and she gave me a glare that said to not talk about it, '' Nothing.''

Ash and Kaidan then started to make all kind of theory about what happened, and almost all of them are right.

We also found Garrus and Wrex talking, probably about guns or something like that. They too noticed the strange atmosphere around me and Shepard. I bet that Wrex already know what happened, because he is grinning like a lunatic.

I looked at both of them,'' Don't even ask.'' Garrus pretended that he didn't hear or see anything and continued talking with Wrex.

After a long walk we finally arrived at our destination. Udina and Anderson are waiting for us.

When Udina noticed us arriving, he started to question us,'' Where have you guys been? You are late.''

'' We were exercising.'' I told the Ambassador. I think that Wrex have told everyone about it, because right after I told Udina, the squad began to laugh. Damn Krogan.

Udina looked really suspicious and wanted to continue the subject , but Anderson , noticing the squad laughing , intervene ,'' Udina, we have to talk to the Council , now. They are already waiting.''

Udina let out a sigh,'' Okay… I will drop it. Now let's go and finish the career of that Specter son of a bitch.'' He said while going up ahead of everyone.

It is a pity that he will betray us in the future. Deep down, maybe he's a nice person.

Udina has gone up ahead and started the meeting a few minutes ago. It is time for us to join in as well.

Captain Anderson said, '' Come on. Udina is presenting Tali evidence to the Council.''

We started to taking up the stairs and reached the location of the meeting.

I finally meet the Councilors and I have to say , I was not impressed. Okay, maybe the Asari councilor did leave an impression on me, but the other two…

The recording against Saren is playing.

''Eden Prime was a major victory! The beacon has brought us one step closer to find the Conduit.''- Saren

'' And one step closer to the return of the Reapers.'' A female voice said.

After the recording ended, Udina pointed a finger ate the Council, '' You wanted proof. There it is.''

'' And I could testify in their favor, Saren has indeed tried to kill me.'' Nhilus suddenly said while appearing behind us.

'' And I have video of it.'' I took this opportunity to show them the video.

After both mine and Nhilus evidence, the Turian Councilor said, '' Those evidences are irrefutable, Ambassador. Saren will be stripped of his Spectre status and all efforts will be made to bring him to answer for his crimes.''

Then the Asari Councilor said an information that Shepard will use in the future,'' I recognize the other voice, the one speaking with Saren. It is Matriarch Benezia.''

Shepard didn't let that pass,'' Who's she?''

'' Matriarchs are powerful asari who have entered the final stage of their lives. Revered for theirs wisdom and experience, they serve as guides and mentor to my people.'' The Asari Councilor, Tevos, started to give us information, ''Matriarch Benezia is a powerful biotic, and she had many followers. She will make a formidable ally for Saren.''

The Salarian Councilor intervened,'' I'm more interested in the Reapers. What do you know about them?''

Captain Anderson gave him the answer,'' Only what was extracted from the geth's memory core. The Reapers were an ancient race of machines that wiped out the Protheans. Than they vanished.''

Shepard added,'' The geth believe the Reapers are gods. And Saren is the prophet for their return.''

'' And if Saren is planning to bring a race that exterminated the Protheans to us, he have to be stopped at any cost. I doubt we would survive against those Reapers.'' I said.

All 3 Councilors looked at me but didn't say anything. The Anderson continued,'' We think the Conduit is the key to bringing them back. Saren is searching for it. That's why he attacked Eden Prime.''

The Salarian Councilor asked us,'' Do you even know what this Conduit is?''

Shepard answered him,'' Saren thinks it can bring back the Reapers. That is bad enough.''

The Turian Councilor said a little angry,'' Listen to what you're saying. Saren wants to bring back the machines that wiped out all life in the galaxy? Impossible, it has to be.'' Then he started talk nonstop,'' Where did the Reaper go? Why did they vanish? How come we've found no trace of their existence? If they are real, we'd have found something!''

'' I tried to warn you about Saren, and you refused to face the true. Don't make the same mistake again, the Reapers are real.'' Shepard said. I really wanted them to believe us, but they are too full of themselves to see the threat coming closer.

'' This is different. You proved Saren betrayed the Council. We all agree he is using the geth to search for the Conduit, but we don't really know why.'' The Asari Councilor said.

The Salarian Councilor was about to speak, but I didn't let him start, '' Councilor '' I said while looking at the asari,'' your name is Tevos, right?'' I asked her.

She nodded.

''The Reapers are real. The beacon in Eden Prime showed me and Shepard what they are capable of and the terror of their presence. If it have a slight chance of them coming back, we have to prepare. All worlds and races have to prepare.'' I told them, but I think they didn't believe.

The Salarian Councilor looked at me with disdain and started speaking,'' The Reapers are obviously just a myth, Commander and your friend. A convenient lie to cover Saren's true purpose, a legend he is using to bend the geth to his will.''

Shepard then said something that is the truth, and almost the same as I have said,'' Fifty thousand years ago, the Reapers wiped out all galactic civilization. If Saren finds the Conduit, it will happen again.''

Now, they will think that we are both crazy.

They still didn't want to accept it. The Turian Councilor then said,'' Saren is a rogue agent on the run for his life. He no longer has the rights or resources of a Spectre. The Council has stripped his of his position.''

Udina finally said something right, demanding that they do something more,'' That is not good! You know he is hiding somewhere in the Traverse. Send your fleet in!''

''A fleet cannot track down one man.'' The salarian Councilor said calmly.

Udina still didn't let it go,'' A Cidatel fleet could secure the entire region. Keep the geth from attacking any more of our colonies.''

'' Or it could trigger a war with the Terminus Systems! We won't be dragged into a galactic confrontation over a few dozen human colonies!'' the turian councilor said.

I was about to curse him when Shepard said,'' Then send me. I can take Saren down.''

The Asari Councilor agreed,'' The commander is right. There is a way to stop Saren that doesn't require fleets or armies.''

Out of the three councilors, the asari is undoubtedly the wisest.

The turiam interjected,'' No! it is too soon. Humanity is not ready for the responsibilities that come with joining the Spectres.''

'' I faced Saren on Eden Prime and exposed him for a traitor. I have proven myself.'' Shepard said with confidence.

The three councilors stayed silent and stared at each other. All of them nodded and accepted Shepard as humanity Spectre.

Then they started to do something with the console ahead of them. The asari councilors then said,'' Commander Shepard – Step forward.''

Then Shepard looked at us and at Anderson, who nodded. Then she started to walk ahead with confidence.

I am so proud of her, but we still have much more thing to do.

Then the asari started to speak,'' It is the decision of the Council that you be granted all the powers and privileges of the Special Tactics and Reconnaissance branch of the Citadel.''

They continued to talk how great they are and how much honor is to be a Spectre, all that. I honestly didn't pay attention, only at the end.

'' You are the first human Spectre, Commander. This is a great accomplishment for you and your entire species.'' I heard the asari talking.

The Shepard gave them a little bow with her head,'' I'm honored, Councilor.''

'' We are sending you into the Traverse after Saren. He's a fugitive from justice, so you are authorized to use any means necessary to apprehend or eliminate him.'' The salarian councilor said.

'' I will find him.'' Shepard said with determination.

Then the asari Councilor ended the meeting ,'' This meeting of the Council is adjourned.''

Soon after that, the 3 Councilor started to leave. They are really idiots, we have told them about the Reapers and they didn't even listen. I wanted to talk with Tevos, the asari Councilor, but it was too soon. She will not believe me and will demand proofs about the Reapers. So i need to wait until Sovereign make his official entrance , then i will go talk to her.

Then, Anderson and Udina started to approach Shepard to congratulate her. Anderson offered his hand,''Congratulations, Commander.''

Shepard shook his hand.

Udina started to talk,'' We've got a lot of work to do, Shepard. You're going to need a ship, a crew, supplies...''

Captain Anderson gave Shepard some advice,'' You will get access to special equipment and training now. You should go down to the C-Sec and speak to the Spectre requisitions officer.''

Shepard nodded. Then udina said while looking at Anderson,'' Captain, come with me. I will need your help to set all this up.''

Then both of them left this place, leaving Shepard and the rest of the crew here.

Wrex said while looking at the back of Udina, ''Hmph! Bastard didn't even thank you.''

'' What do you expect from a politician?'' I said sarcastically. Then I looked directly at Shepard, '' Congratulations, Commander. You deserve it.''

I wish I could give her a hug , but a handshake will do.

Then the rest of the crew started to congratulate her as well. Ash and Kaidan now have even more respect for Shepard, Wrex looked the same and Garrus is a little excited.

'' Thanks guys, I really mean it. Now let's go grab some spectre stuff.'' She said while smiling. She must be proud, and she deserved it.

'' You guys go ahead, I will meet you up at the Docks.'' I told the Crew.

'' Did you need any kind of weapon, or a new armor? '' Shepard asked me.

Now that she has access to the Spectre inventory, she is going to buy a lot of things. I started to think if I need something and I did not, '' I am good, thank you.''

Shepard nodded and started to go away with the squad. I believe she will go directly to the weapon store.

Now that they left, I started to call someone. After 1 minute, someone answered, '' Hello, is this the number of Doctor Mordin Solus? I need your help…''

Some time later

After talking with the Salarian doctor for quite some time, I take the elevator to the Docks. When I got there, Shepard was talking with Anderson and Udina.

I arrived just in time to hear Udina saying to Shepard, '' I've got big news for you, Shepard. Captain Anderson is stepping down as commanding officer of the Normandy. The ship is yours now.''

Shepard appears shocked and looked at direction of Anderson, who just nodded '' She's quick and quiet and you know the crew, a perfect ship for a Spectre. Treat her well, Commander.''

She finally started to look normal, '' I will take good care of her, sir."

'' I know you will, Commander.'' Anderson looked a little bit prideful. He must have a nice relationship with her.

Shepard looked conflicted, so I asked on her behalf , '' Anderson, I have not meet you for more than one week, but I don't believe you would step down so easily. Why are you stepping down, sir?''

Anderson looked at me with a little of respect, '' Shepard needed your own ship. A Spectre can't answer to anyone but the Council. And it's time for me to sped down.''

Shepard finally asked, '' Come clean with me, Captain. You owe me that much.''

Anderson looked conflicted for a moment before sighing, '' I was in your shoes twenty years ago, Shepard. They were considering me for the Spectres.''

Shepard looked a little surprise, '' What happened?''

'' I failed. I couldn't make the cut. It's not something I'm proud of.'' He looked dejected, '' Ask me later and I will tell you the whole story. For now, all you need to know is I was sent on a mission with Sauren, and he made sure the Council rejected me.''

'' I had my shot. It came and went. Now you have a chance to make up for my mistakes.'' He completed.

'' I won't let you down, sir. Do you have any news on Sauren?'' Shepard asked.

'' Sauren's gone. Don't even try to find him. But we know what he's after: the Conduit. He's got his geth scouring the Traverse looking for clues.'' Anderson said.

'' We had reports of geth in the Feros system shortly before our colony there dropped out of contact. And there have been sightings around Noveria.'' Udina complemented.

'' You need to find what Sauren was after on Feros and Noveria. Maybe you can figure out where the Conduit is before he does.'' Anderson finished.

Shepard, who is the only person that knows how to look at the big picture, told both of them, '' The Reapers are the real threat.''

'' And before you guys talk is craziness, Shepard and I received the same vision. They exist and they are coming. You have to believe us.'' I helped Shepard.

It wasn't just the Council that didn't want to see the threat, all of the people that can see the proof of their return and don't want to believe, are stupid.

Udina, to prove my point, said, '' I'm with the Council on this one, Shepard. I'm not sure they even exist.''

Anderson on other hand, at least tried to listen to us, '' If they do exist, the Conduit is the key to bringing them back. Stop Sauren from getting the Conduit and we stop the Reapers from returning.''

Shepard said, '' I will stop him.''

I thought that it was finally over, but Udina gave us more info,'' We have one more lead. Matriarch Benezia, the other voice on that recording? She has a daughter, a scientist who specializes in the Protheans. We don't know if she is involved but it might be a good idea to try and find her. See what she knows. Her name is Liara, Dr. Liara T'soni.''

He completed,'' We have reports she was exploring an archeological dig on one of the uncharted worlds in the Artemis Tau cluster.''

'' I don't know which way to go first, I will think about it.'' Shepard said.

Then we said our goodbyes to Anderson and Udina and entered the Normandy. Immediately after we entered, Shepard said, '' We need a meeting right now.''

Then we, Ash, Kaidan, Wrex, Garrus and me, gathered in the comm room. Shepard started talking, '' I need your opinion on this matter. I think we need to go to Ferros first but i am worried about Benezia daughter.''

'' I'll go grab her.'' I told Shepard the best way to do it.

'' Are you sure? Do you need anyone to go with you?'' Shepard looked a little bit relieved.

'' There is no need to send someone with me, I will handle it.'' I told them.

'' Good, now that this is out of the way, we need to think about the rest. Ferros and Noveria need attention, but I also have other things to worry about. Admiral Kahouko men's have been missing in the Voyager cluster, we will go there first and then we will focus on Ferros.'' Shepard laid out her plans for the future.
