Final Battle Part 2:
The Maximoff Twins, Clint and Una joined Steve and Nat attacking the legion of robots in their part of town.
"Romanoff!" Steve screamed. He threw his shield into a robot saving her life.
"Thanks!" she pulled the shield out and used a strategy like the one Una used to get close enough and take the attackers out.
As the number of robots grew smaller and smaller, Clint and the twins took more of them out whilst Nat, Steve and Una helped more civilians get to safety
Steve called through their coms to Stark, who was flying above the floating city scanning the entire mechanism, that causing it to hover upwards, for a weakness.
"The next wave is gonna hit any minute. What do you got Stark?"
"Huh? Nothing great," Tony called back nervously. "Maybe a way to blow up the city. That'll keep it from impacting the surface, if you guys can get clear,"
"I asked for a solution, not an escape plan,"
"Impact radius is getting bigger every second. We're gonna have to make a choice,"
"Cap these people are going nowhere," Nat pointed out. "If Stark finds a way to blow up this rock…"
"What about all these civilians?" Una jibbed in.
"What about all the people down there?" Nat gestured to the surface thousands of feet below. "There's no math there Una for everyone up here versus everyone down there,"
"We are not leaving any civilian behind," Cap commanded.
"I didn't say we should leave. There's worse ways to go. Where else are we going to get a view like this?"
"I'm glad you like the view Romanoff," Nick's voice unexpectantly called through. "It's about to get better,"
Una felt her eyes widen. "Was that..."
"Oh yes it was girl," Nat smirked.
The three heard the whirling of engines and saw a giant SHIELD carrier hover upwards beside the city.
"Nice, right?" Nick joked. "Pulled her out of mothballs with a couple of old friends. She's dusty, but she'll do,"
Captain America smiled in amusement. "Fury, you son of a bitch,"
"Ooh! You kiss your mother with that mouth?" Fury questioned.
Una eyed Cap with a teasing smile. "And I thought you didn't like using bad language words,"
Pietro dashed up to them and gazed at the Helicarrier with wonder. "This is SHIELD?"
"This is what SHIELD's supposed to be," Cap answered.
Pietro chuckled. "This is no so bad,"
Four carriers with dozens of seats approached the city.
"Let's load everyone on," Cap instructed his teammates.
The four dashed off, calling to everyone to board the carriers.
"Everyone aboard!" Una called. "Now!"
"You think you're saving everyone?" Ultron challenged, punching Thora a thousandth time but she would not be beaten down like a mortal man or woman would. She had enhanced endurance that kept her going.
Ultron gripped her throat with his giant things. "I turn that key and drop this rock a little early and it's still billions of dead,"
Thora twisted her head and saw a vibranium core that was spinning. She struggled to break free.
"Even you can't stop that," Ultron sneered, raising up his other fist to punch Thora, this time to death.
"I am Thora, daughter of Odin," Thora croaked as loud as she could. "And as long as there is life in my breast, I am…" she coughed. Then a smirk appeared on her face. "I am running out of things to say," she focussed on something else. "Are you ready?"
A confused Ultron turned around. He was met with a bang in the face by Mjolnir. He went flying several blocks away and he crashed into a train. Vision relaxed his arm as he held Mjolnir and handed it back to its owner.
"Good job. Thanks,"
"I have to say miss Thora, it's terribly well-balanced,"
"Well if there's too much weight, you lose power on the swing so…" Thora panted, placing a hand on her hip
"Thora!" Stark's voice called again through the come. "I got a plan!"
"We're out of time! They're coming for the core!"
Immediately the Avengers regrouped and joined Thora and Vision. Una was delighted to see her cousin safe again.
There was no Nat or Bruce yet.
"Romanoff! You and Banner better not be playing 'hide the zucchini" Una warned.
"Relax Una. I'm on my way," Nat answered. "And don't think of asking me if I did it,"
Una frowned. "Did what?"
"Never mind. Just forget,"
Una and Thora casted a teasing glance at each other. She had done it.
Nat finally arrived after a ride in a yellow lorry-digger. She joined the others. "What's the drill?"
"This is the drill," Stark pointed to the vibranium drill in the centre of the stone building. "If Ultron gets a hand on the core, we lose,"
A growling Hulk-formed Banner arrived, jumping on a group of robots and ripping them apart like dolls.
From a few yards away, they saw Ultron hovering towards them.
"Is that the best you can do?!" Thora bellowed to him. "Cause it's not enough for us! You gonna have to do better than that!"
Ultron stopped hovering. He held up his hand. An army of approaching Stark robots were heading their way.
"You had to ask," Cap complained to his friend. "And you had to goad him"
"Don't you start Cap," Una scoffed at his complaints at her cousin.
"This is the best I can do," Ultron spoke proudly. "This is exactly what I wanted. All of you against all of me. How can you possibly hope to stop me?"
"Well, like the old man said:" Stark gestured to Steve, remembering an important word that he spoke back at the tower the night this conflict started. "Together,"
Banner roared at Ultron, daring him and his army to come and face them all.
The robots charged at him. The Avengers leapt into action, using their different skills to take them out. They fought with style, with such angelic skills, as miraculous team of heroes. Tony with his rockets blasts, Wanda and Pietro with their powers, Hawkeye with his bow, Nat with her guns, Una with her sword and shield, Hulk with his strength, Cap with his shield, Thora with her lightning and her hammer, and Vision with his mind powers and android strength.
Seeing as how his army was failing, Ultron flew at them. Vision flew back at him. They butted each other in the air but Ultron punched him in the wall. Before he could ram at him again, Vision fired a beam of powerful gold energy from the Mind Stone in his forehead. He forced Ultron onto the ground outside. Ultron tired using his hands to block it.
Thora and Stark joined Vision. Thora aimed at her lightning at the robot. Stark fired his blasting energy at him too. Together the three beams of power energies forced Ultron backwards. His endurance began to weak. His head began to melt. He fell onto his knees.
The android, the iron Man and the thunder goddess stopped. They stared at the highly weakened Ultron as he groaned and tried to stand up. He struggled to stay upright on his feet.
"You know…" he spoke out in a dreary manner. "…with the benefit of hindsight…"
But the Hulk had enough. He flew a giant green fist into the robot, and he went flying far across the air out of sight.
Banner tried to kill the other robots, but they started flying away.
"They're trying to leave the city," Thora freaked out. "We can't one live,"
"Rhodey," Stark called to his friends.
"You got it," he answered. "I'm on it," Quick as a whip, the Iron Man counterpart: War Machine blasted the remaining robots, smashing them to pieces. Vision joined up with him, phasing his hands through the robot's cores and tearing them apart from their insides.
"We gotta move. The air's getting thin," Steve warned everyone. They had risen too above the Earth and it was becoming difficult to breathe. "You guys get to the boats. Girls…" he gestured to Thora and Una. "We'll sweep for stragglers,"
"What about the core?" Clint asked.
"I'll protect it," Wanda voted. "It's my job,"
Clint nodded, looking proud of her. "Nat. This way," he led Nat away and they went to finish the job.
Cap and the other two girls dashed off and assisted
It wasn't long before Stark called for Thora gain. "Thora, I'm goanna need you back in the church,"
"Okay. I'm on my way," Thora called back. But first she had to check with Steve and Una. "Is this the last of them?"
"Yeah," Cap answered. "Everyone else is on the carrier,"
"You know, this works, we maybe don't walk away,"
"Maybe not," Thora agreed.
Suddenly they heard the rapid firing of a rifle guns. They looked and saw the Quinjet with the still-surviving Ultron piloting it.
"Watch out!" Una pushed Thora to the crowd and sheltered them both with her shield, saving them from the gunshots. The Captain did too.
Una lifted her head up and saw that Clint with a child he had rescued was in the path of gun firing. He would be struck any moment. Before either her or Thora or Cap could react, a blur burr flew past behind Clint saving him from getting killed.
The blur stopped. Pietro was bloodied all over with bullets in his back and his legs and his arms. Clint looked at him with surprise.
"You did not see that coming," Pietro croaked out his familiar words before he fell to the ground, dead.
The three members were shocked. But Una knew Thora had no time to react. "Go Thora!" Una urged. "Go!"
Thora nodded. She swung her hammer and rocketed off to the church. Una and Cap sprinted to the dead Pietro and the survived Clint.
A tear fell from Una's eyes as she saw how too wounded Pietro was to heal and save; he was too gone. He had saved her life and Cap's. Then her's again from robots. And now Clint from Ultron.
As Clint carried the kid to the last carrier, Cap heaved Pietro's body onto his shoulders and carried him too.
Just as he had boarded on and Una was about to, there was a sudden vroom and rubble. Una felt her tummy flying up into her throat as the ground below her started to fall. Una leapt and Cap reacted in time and caught her hand. He pulled her on board. They watched helplessly as they saw the giant mass of land started plummeting down to the surface. If it touched the ground, it would global extinction.
It was up to Tony and Thora now.
Thora arrived back at the church where the activated vibranium drill was. She waited for Tony's voice to call.
"Thora on my mark!" he called.
Thora rose her hammer and series of lightning were summoned from the ground. She waited, and waited, and waited…
"Now!" Stark shouted.
Thora did a might jump and smashed her hammer into the core. The entire city was blown up by lightning into particles of dust and dirt. Everything including the vibranium core splashed into the sea, sinking slowly into the deep.
Thora didn't have time to fly out to safety. Before she could, a piece of rubble landed on her body and the next she knew she was in the sea, falling down, drowning….
Her sight began to turn black. She felt the last bubble of oxygen leave her gaped mouth. The last thing she was a body just above the surface. It dove down towards her.
