I saw Onward tonight and it was pretty awesome, so I wanted to write some fanfiction for it, especially involving Corey, the manticore because she's awesome plus I loved the aid she gave her new best friend.
This is going to be a series of stories reolving around Corey's friendship with Barley and Ian's mom, Laurel and the adventures that ensue.
"Woah the tavern is slammed tonight, I hope I can close up in time to hang out with Laurel and those boys of hers." Corey said.
It was just a typical night at the Manticore's Tavern, which was a famous eating spit, just outside New Mushriingtoom, making it's female manticore owner and former warrior was tending to her many customers, happy that her tavern was full of customers after the curse had been lifted by the Lightfoot brothers which was a good thing helping clean up spilled beverages until her phone buzzed.
Closed soon, so we can hang out, plus Barley is helping Ian so what do you want for takeout?
Corey grinned, pausing to reply to the text from her new best friend, Laurel Lightfoot since that crazy adventure involving Laurel's sons, Barley and Ian when they had tried to find the Phoenix Gem which made the manticore female happy, to have a friend who was just as mighty a warrior like her seeing that things were calming down seeing customers leaving, relieving Corey.
Alright, that means I can get out of here and fly over to Laurel's house
After closing up the tavern for the night, Corey took off into the night sky, feeling the night breeze beneath her feathery wings which felt great, after being in the tavern all day arriving at the Lightfoot house, scaring the trash unicorns besides knocking over trash cans, making Corey chuckle despite being embarrassed hoping Barley or Ian would not have to clean it up, noticing Colt was on duty.
She rang the doorbell gently, so she didn't break it with her strength, grinning seeing Ian opening the door, with wizard staff in hand.
"Come in, as our mom was excited about you coming over to hang out, what happened to our trash cans?" he said.
"I accidentally knocked them over landing here, I hope I didn't cause trouble for you, or Barley." she replied, seeing Ian shake his head, because he could use magic to clean it up, before Colt gets back, how's the tavern?" he said to her while she followed him inside the house..
"Oh there you are, I was getting worried, and guess you were able to close up early?" Laurel said after hugging her.
"I did and made a lot of tips, plus not alot of action tonight?" Corey replied looking at Barley and Ian making both boys grin, plus Ian knew that Barley wanted to ask Corey about the many quests she had went on, knowing from the last time the manticore female had gotten really angry, so Barley would wait until another time.
"Pizza Realm ot is, I'll just call and put in an order." Laurel said after they had made up their minds, about what they were going to eat making Corey wonder, who Ian was texting so much, makimg Barley chuckle at her question.
"A friend of his that's a girl, who he invited to his party, remember?" he told the manticore female making Ian roll his eyes at them, seeing Blazie asleep on the couch.
"I guess she's tired after being her, you know?" Corey said to them, makimg Laurel impressed that Blazie was calm, especially being on her new friend's lap which was sweet, hearing the doorbell ring, guessing it was the pizza guessing the delivery guys were incoropating magic into their deliveries, making Laurel go answer.
She saw the Pizza Realm delivery guy there with the pizzas, making Laurel grin, paying him, closing the door of their house
They were sitting at the table, eating pizza talking about their day, impressing Corey hearing things like school and work, intrested that Laurent was an accountant remembering her skills fighting against the guardian curse, makimg Laurel chuckle.
