"I wonder why Corey's late?" Laurel heard Ian ask.
"Maybe something epic happened, you know?" Barley said.
It was a beauitful Spring day in New Mushroomington, so Laurel, Barley and Ian were curious, because Corey had said she had something she wanted to show them, which made Barley excitable in case it involved a quest making Ian unsure about this, hearijg Corey making them wonder if everything was alright hearing her call out somebody's name making them curious deciding to help.
"My niece, Kora ran off into the forest after we landed, and I need your help." she said to them, making Barley and Ian curious as they went off into the forest, hearing soft giggling echoing through the trees, making them guess it was Corey's niece, and she was playing hide and seek which was cute wondering why she had ran off from her aunt.
"Come out wherever you are, Kora!" Ian said trying not to spook her makimg Barley agree.
They then saw a manticore chick jumput from behind a bush, tackling Barley making Ian chuckle, seeing a female manticore chuck there, guessing it was Kora seeing her nod in reply, asking if her aunt was Corey seeing her nod.
"I just wanted to have some fun, like Aunt Corey, but she says I'm too little to help her, or go on adventures." she said makimg Barley understand, seeimg their mom and Corey there, relieved that Kora was okay, guessing she had been hiding. to Barley getting an idea, since maybe Barley and Ian could watch Kora for a while so she and Laurel could have some girl time making Barley and Ian surprised by the female manticore's idea.
"I think we can do it as she is just a little kid, believe with every step, right?" Ian said to Barley.
"I guess it would be okay, you know?" Barley replied makimg Corey excitable, telling Kora to stay with Barley and Ian, to not fly off in fear along with having fun hugging her before leaving with Laurent, flying off into the blue skies, making Barley's eyes widen in awe everytime their mom rode on Cprey, wanting to do it too sometime making Ian roll his eyes at his brother seeing a tiny phoenix gem around Kora's neck.
"My mommy gave it to me, before I left with Aunt Corey." she said yawning as she was following them into Gyunerve, after picking up the picnic stuff hopimg that Kora would be okay until Corey returned seeing Barley agreeing as they were driving home, plus Barley had the radio on softly, as not to wake Kora, in case she got freaked out.
Blazie was curious seeing the stranger that looked like Corey, despite Ian telling the dragon to be quiet since Kora was still sleeping, putting Kora on the couch, putting the dirty plates from the picnic into the sink, while Kora was sleeping, seeing a text from Corey asking how Kora was replying.
"She's very protective, when it comes to Kora." Ian said to Barley making him nod in reply, as he wanted to play Quests of Yore letting him be guessing Corey and their mom was having fun, and would be back soon, finding Kora cute remembering how the female manticore youngster had surprised Barley, guessing she had been imitating her aunt earlier.
Corey and Laurel were having fun at a cafe, having coffee while out, hoping that Barley and Ian were okay and that Kora was not giving them too much trouble, making Laurel understand, like when her boys had went in search of a phoenix gem to cast a certain visitation spell making Corey understand, but a little nervous about having Kora in her life because she had the tavern, plus their hanging out feeling Laurel's hand on her furry shoulder.
"It is a big change, but you are a great warrior, a good tavern-runner among other things, plus Kora seems very sweet so you can teach her many things, plus she's gonna be in school." Laurel assured her makimg Corey guess she was right, plus was enrolling Kora in kindergarten as she was that age makimg Laurel grin.
"Check this out, Corey." Laurel said handing her her cellphone, seeing a photo of Barley, Kora and Ian playing dress-up making the female manticore chuckle hysterically at that, knowing her niece was okay.
Barley and Ian were surprised seeing Corey and their mom back seeing Kora hugging her aunt's leg, makimg Laurel smile hearing Kora call her Aunt Laurel makimg Barley and Ian burst out laughing having Kora in her life." , because it was so cute, hearing them talking leaving.
"Good job you two, as Corey was a little anxious, about having Kora around, until I showed her the photo you sent me, and guess Quests of Yore inspired it?" she told them, seeing Barley nodding in reply, because after waking up from her nap, Kora had been anxious until Barley had made her laugh impressing Laurel, hoping that Corey was alright.
