Jinx in particular was squirming with unbridled anticipation after a fulfilling sleep. Kyd Wykkyd was accustomed to irresponsibly late nights, but Jinx cherished her sleep. Therefore, she had forced herself to take a long nap, and set a raucous timer to jolt her awake at eleven oclock to prepare themselves for the most extreme, disorientating rescue from Jump City Prison that the Teen Titans would ever seen- at least, they hoped. If it all went to plan, then it was desired that the HIVE FIVE would be reunited yet again and get back to their daily antics after the impeding ordeal before.

Kyd was studying the powerful explosions intently, tracing his fingers over the intricate lines and fine details curiously and seemingly mesmerised by the flashing lights. Jinx was lost in her thoughts, perfecting their plan fastidiously, and frowned.

"Kyd? We have a problem,"she admitted sheepishly.

He looked up calmly, while carefully depositing the sufficient bombs. When she was satisfied she had his undivided attention, she began to go into further depth.

"We have to make sure we aren't near the team,"she explained authoritatively.

Kyd merely looked thoughtful and nodded slowly. Suddenly, he pointed at himself and waited for the sparkle of recognition on Jinx's face. It didn't come. He sighed, comparing her nonplussed face to Seemore's miraculous knack of translating his wild indications with ridiculous ease. He reached disappointedly for his notebook and scribbled non-committedly on the paper. He passed it briskly and it read:

I'll do it. Trust me.

She nodded and reluctantly extracted that nagging issue from her busy mind. She tried to eject the pressing doubts that the whole plan could collapse from an infinitesimal mistake or vacuous accident, both unintended yet surely inevitable. She swiftly shook it off and turned to face Kyd who was biting his lip, finally showing some nerves. He stood up nimbly and cautiously picked up the advanced explosives. He forebearingly passed Jinx a few too and soon they were all prepared, having (much to Kyd's immense pique) gone over the plan several times. Hesitantly, he lightly placed a hand on her shoulder. In a split second, they had vanished and miraculously appeared on the prison roof.

A ferocious wind howled, as cold rain splattered irritably on their faces. Jinx wiped rain from her eyes and frowned at the dreary weather. The intimidating structure towered over the two villains and was increasingly harder to decipher as the unrelenting rain crashed down with more force.

"Kyd, check it out and tell me where to plant them,"she ordered firmly, raising her voice over the loud rain.

He nodded dutifully, and left Jinx shielding her face against the vicious onslaught of the vicious shower.

While Jinx brooded nervously, Kyd Wykkyd was creeping stealthily through the prison. He saw strange and murderous faces watch his every move, some with flashes of recognition, others just uncaring. In fact, a dodgy-looking man with a crazed snarl beckoned for him to come closer but he merely pelted past his cell warily. He thought that some people did deserve the heavy burdens of imprisonment more than others. The room held a constant demeanour of trepidation and he thought each time he turned to scour the next rows of cells, a guard would come darting for Kyd. He had been struck by their lethal laser guns before and wasn't ever going to be ready for another round. He was beginning to become suspicious- surely they would have spotted the others by now. After all, empty cells were starting to become more common and the number of engaged ones were falling rapidly. Intense paranoia fuelled his tiptoes to jittery and drowned him in immense trepidation until he was at the last aisle of cells. Cautiously, he peeked across the wall and had to smother a gasp. The Teen Titan's were positioned in front of their friend's cell, clearly guarding them. Billy was cursing fervently, with insolent words that weren't necessarily appropriate. Gizmo was ranting bumptiously to Seemore, who had flopped miserably on the uncomfortable bed on the bottom of the bunk. Mammoth was scowling vexedly at the Titans, but they merely ignored him. Usually, the team were scattered in separate cells but this was evidently a devious trap to lure Kyd and Jinx in dull confinement too. Raven and Robin were tensed, acting as seriously and determinedly as they would be in battle, a striking comparison to the others. Cyborg was dreamily drooling about a new burger restaurant in town to Beast Boy, who was glowering increasingly as the long list of slaughtered animals expanded. Starfire was staring absentmindedly at Robin, but he was too focused to notice.

Kyd stepped back involuntarily and his foot caught on his long cape. He slipped to the floor, yelping and the Titan's head snapped to him. He faintly heard Seemore gasp in horror. With that, they raced to capture him. Scrambling clumsily to his feet, Kyd ran urgently, only to hear the sound of Starfire whizzing incredibly swiftly to him. He had gathered enough focus to teleport and to report frantically about the unfortunate problem, when suddenly a powerful fist connected with his shoulder and he was sent flying against the metal bars of an unoccupied cell. He flinched at the sharp pains, and with all the concentration he could muster, he vanished. The precise birdarang intended to trip him up, hit the bars with a firm clank and the superheroes complained bitterly before splitting up to look for the intruders.

Jinx had begun to become slightly concerned. Surely, Kyd Wykkyd would be finished by now. She jolted as a sudden presence appeared abruptly besides her, panting and wincing painfully.

"Kyd! What happened?,"she cried urgently, shoving her HIVE FIVE communicator in his hands. He typed frantically before handing it to her in a frenzied sort of hurry. She read:

Titans with hives. Coming now.

She stiffened and leapt to her feet panickedly. Hastening brusquely, she wrenched Kyd behind her, collecting the powerful bombs wildly. She raced to the main entrance to the prison and activated a fierce explosive, before tossing it urgently. Kyd realized what was happening and his eyes widened fearfully. Jinx roughly yanked him away and they scarcely covered enough ground when it detonated. An eruption of sweltering flames exploded, throwing incinerated rubble ablaze into the air. Heavy plumes of thick smoke rose and they coughed profusely. They pelted to the other side of the dull ceiling, fighting against the vicious weather until they neared the vast prison caught yard. Kyd grabbed a bomb out of Jinx's hand and triggered it, hurling it on the spacious yard masterfully. It exploded with a ferocious roar. Jinx reached to actuate another but Kyd shook his head firmly and pointed to the sweltering fires born from their mighty explosives. Raven was using her dark magic to spray voluminous water in a dire attempt to quench the blazing fire building in the courtyard. Beast Boy and Cyborg were firing water too, at the crippled entrance but it was unsettling to be unable to visibly see Starfire and Robin. They heard the familiar sound of Starfire flying determinedly to spot the two villains from the air. Kyd swiftly laid a hand on Jinx's arm and they disappeared the moment Starfire would have witnessed the retreating pair.

Jinx and Kyd Wykkyd snook fearfully down the aisles. Prisoner chatted excitedly about fierce explosions and a supposed villain here to free them all. They exchanged anxious frowns before gazing over the corner warily. Robin was patrolling the corridor tensely, clutching the metallic staff in one hand and sharp birdarangs in the other.

Kyd looked at her expectantly and she groaned- she was the distraction. She glowered harshly at him as she slid into the open, plastering a malicious grin on her face. Robin's grimace deepened and he prepared himself to leap.

"Jinx! I hope you are ready to join your friends,"he spat aggressively.

Her malevolent smile widened.

"Oh, I don't intend to do that,"she retorted slyly.

She eluded a well-aimed birdarang with a graceful somersault and bounded towards him with an elegant kick. He blocked it agilely and Jinx began to hex wildly. She could see from the corner of her eyes Kyd urgently grabbed Seemore's hand and Gizmo's shoulder. In a flash, they had gone. Jinx pivoted to the left and aimed a fervent punch to his stomach, but he evaded it easily and struck hers instead. She reeled over and her legs were swiped from beneath her. She tumbled to the hard floor and Robin dragged her up roughly by the shoulders. He smirked unpleasantly and turned her to the cell, to discover a shocking revelation. He gasped in horror as he found the dreary cell void of any prisoners and spun to face Jinx, who was grinning maliciously. Robin pressed his staff against her neck.

"What have you done with the prisoners?,"he enquired menacingly.

Her wicked smile broadened as she caught a flicker of an eerie shadow. Suddenly, he seemed to gawk, stunned as a vicious blow to the head rendered him unconscious. His hard gadgets clattered to the floor and he sank to his back, sprawled motionlessly on the uncomfortable floor as well. Jinx accepted Kyd's hand gratefully and soon they disappeared from the dreary prison.
