In My Veins
Chapter 3
Shrill ringing sounded in Elena's eyes as her eyes flew open and she felt around until she located the source of the noise. Her phone was signaling an incoming call and who was calling had shocked her to her core. What did they want?
"Hello?"
"Hey. Long time no talk."
"Who's this?"
"Am I really that forgettable?" the guy asked on the other end seeming disappointed.
"Damon?"
"I knew you wouldn't forget me. After last night I don't think you ever could."
"Cocky much?"
"I kind of have to be currently. Wouldn't you agree?"
"Not necessarily, but statistically I see your point. For future reference though, I don't like cocky assholes."
"Noted. Now that that's out of the way. I have a question to ask you."
"And what would that be?"
"Would you like to meet up for coffee?"
"Sure. What do I have to lose? Time and place?"
"Meet me at Pat's before we go to school. I'll tell you more about what you want to know."
"Sounds good."
Hanging up, Elena sighed putting her head in her hands wondering what the hell she had just gotten herself into.
"Hey there." Elena said as she sat in the booth Damon had now occupied.
"Hey. How are you doing?"
"Better than expected, how are you?"
"Pretty good despite the super-hot girl from last night not remembering me, but hey shit happens right?"
"That's for sure."
"Do you even remember what happened between us last night?"
"Last night is all a blur. I remember nothing from it, but like I said, maybe you could help me remember."
"I'd be more than happy to."
"Why did I let you convince me to go to this party?" Damon asked Stefan as the group of men they were with cheered as they let Stefan down from the keg and gave them some high fives. Of course, Stefan would be doing a keg stand when he was supposed to be entertaining Damon during his first real party.
"Because you need to get out occasionally. I know Rebekah dumped you, but it's not the end of the world."
"Thanks for letting everyone know Stef. I really appreciate it."
"It's not like it wasn't public knowledge by this point little bro. Stop worrying about it. No one really gives a shit that you got dumped."
"I do."
"That's because you're being a pussy and you need to get over it. Do yourself a favor and get over her by getting under someone new."
"I don't think it works that way Stefan."
"That's because you're not letting it. There's tons of hot snatch here, go find you some and leave me the fuck alone with your intensive bitching."
"Maybe I will."
"That's the spirit. Go out there and get him tiger."
Shaking his head, Damon left Stefan to his business as he swiped a beer from the keg and sat down on the couch to wait out the rest of the party. He was just relaxing as a girl he didn't know sat down next to him looking exasperated as mascara flowed down her face. She was obviously heartbroken like he was.
"Are you okay?"
"No. Not really."
"What happened?"
"My boyfriend just broke up with me."
"I'm sorry. I know exactly how this feels."
"Your boyfriend broke up with you too?"
A laugh escaped his throat making him feel better than he had in days. Maybe Stefan had a point with another person helping him get over Rebekah, but maybe he should get to know this girl a little better before he jumped into that.
"No, but my girlfriend did. She dumped me a week ago, but it still hurts like a bitch."
"That sucks. I'm sorry."
"It's not your fault."
"Well. I'm still sorry. A toast to your newfound freedom."
"I'll drink to that." He toasted clicking his glass to hers as they continued talking having no idea what would happen next.
Their lips smashed together as their clothes fell away, Damon shit his foot on something clumsily as Elena fell to the bed laughing her ass off. This wasn't the way he imagined getting laid that night, but right now he would take it.
Kissing her naked body, Elena moaned as Damon slipped his fingers inside her making her eyes roll in the back of her head. God, he loved the look on her face.
"Do you want to? Is this okay?"
"Yes. I want to. So, are you going to fuck me or not?"
"Yes, of course." He said unbuckling his pants as his erection sprang free.
"Damn boy, I don't see why your ex dumped you. You're definitely packing."
"Just wait until you see what I can do with it." He smiled kissing her as he showed her just exactly what he meant.
"Did you see me after that?" she asked feeling a blush settle on her face. She wasn't that spontaneous. What the hell was wrong with her?
"No. You got dressed and left really quickly after that. I thought I did something wrong. Did I?"
"You did nothing wrong. I was just upset about something and took it out on you. I'm sorry."
"I accept your apology. Now can we stop acting weird around each other because I would really like to get to know you." He said talking her hand and stroking it.
"I would like that. " she answered squeezing his hand and thinking that her life was finally turning around.
