Draco called his mom via the floor network. Narcissisa was worried by Draco's rushed speech. He would do this as a child, he'd speak so fast when he was excited, he made little sense.

'Slow down, darling. I can't understand. What was it about this dress?'

'Hermione and I were having lunch and she spilled some wine on her dress and we can't get the stain out.' Draco decided that it was best to give pertinent details.

'Hermione Granger?' His mother asked with a raised eyebrow.

'Do you know of any other?' Draco asked.

'Impressive, even for you. So are you dating now. How did she take your confession? Quite well, I'm guessing, if you're having a date...' Narcissisa smiled indulgently at her only son.

She had realized long before Draco himself that his strong feelings towards a certain Ms. Granger didn't stem from hatred but quite the opposite. When he'd finally realized it, he had been convinced that there was no hope that he even had a chance to win her heart. He had harassed her through school, been utterly cruel, mocked her friends, heritage, become Death Eater and helped Voldemort which alone was enough to disqualify him.

Besides, he had realized that he cared about her at the most inopportune moment, while she was being tortured by his aunt in front of him. He'd used a silent tethering spell to absorb some of the pain, so that she wouldn't lose consciousness or worse. Bellatrix had just tried harder in the process, luckily she hadn't noticed Draco's interference.

He didn't expect Hermione to ever give him a chance, he had no right, not after everything he'd done. But he wanted to be a better person for her. He knew people would judge him, hate or despise him, he had earned it. It wasn't always easy, people were cruel. He was guilty of trying to buy back his reputation but he was doing it with the right intentions. He hoped there'd come a day when his shadowy past would be out shined by his present.

'It's not like that, mother. We're working on something together and decided to have lunch. She doesn't know anything.'

'Oh...I see...I'm sending Droopy over, give the dress to him. I'll see what it needs and send it back.'

'Thanks, mom' Draco smiled.

He returned to the living room to find Hermione had finished their third bottle.

'Draco, may I check out your books?' She requested.

He nodded as she moved to the nearest bookshelf, swaying a little.

'You need to take off that dress.'

She turned around and scrunched her eyebrows together.

'Has that line ever worked?' She asked with a grin.

'I've never used it on anyone. Most girls take one look at me and drop their clothes of their own accord.' He answered flirtatiously not sure how she'd take it.

Hermione shook her head in dismay and turned back to the books. 'You're a real piece of work, Malfoy. Nothing can change your high opinion of yourself.'

'I was being thoroughly serious about you needing to get out of that though. My mother is sending over one of the house elves to pick it up any moment, preferably without you attached to it.' Draco said sitting back on the couch, summoning another bottle of wine.

'Here.'

Draco turned to face her and he was left speechless when he realized that she was holding her dress in front of her.

Thankfully, the angle at which she stood, she was covered up. Rapidly undoing the buttons on his shirt, he ripped it off holding it out in front of her. Hermione dropped the dress and slipped into the shirt, struggling a little with the buttons. She waved her arms around, the sleeves a bit too long for her.

Draco laughed, she looked adorable.

'Fold the sleeves.' She ordered him.

'Yes, ma'am.'

'Pour me more wine.'

'I think you've had quite enough.'

'You're not the boss of me, Malfoy. I'm the boss and I say more wine.'

'You already sound drunk, you're going to wake up with a most delightful hangover. And you'll be a pain on Monday.'

'I will not.' She objected grabbing his glass and taking a gulp. She grinned at him before closing her eyes and laying back. Draco seemed to be convinced that she was well and truly sloshed.

Hermione could hold her drink much better than she let on. Drinking competitions were a regular deal with the Gryffindors, Truth, Dare or Drink being a very popular activity.

'Draco, we've known each other for years, we've hated each other with a passion, we've survived a war in which even though we were on opposite sides we actually chose to save each others necks when we could have chosen otherwise. Now we're working together yet we don't really know each other.' Her eyes we're shut as she spoke or she'd have seen Draco's expression of growing concern. He wasn't sure what she was trying to get at, his plan was a simple-no-strings-attached-make-out-sesh. Something that wouldn't be asking too much from her.

'Do you want to change that? I'm totally down with getting to know you better. The little I glimpsed of you yesterday tells me getting to know you will be worth it.' Draco said with his trademark smirk gracing his face but it lacked the malice it held in their school days. It was filled with mischief instead.

Hermione laughed out when she stared at him and he wiggled his eyebrows in response. 'Let's play a little game called Truth, Dare or Drink. It's super simple since it's just us we'll each take a turn. We choose between telling the truth to the question, no monosyllabic or ambiguous answers. Only one question at a time and you have to tell the truth. The dare has to take place in this house and should be doable and shouldn't be overly dangerous. If you disagree to fulfill your choice then you drink, like take a proper gulp no baby sips. Ready?' She asked as she refilled both their glasses.

'Is that your first question? Yes, let's do this. When does the game end?'

'When we know each other as well as we should.'

'Get your wand out, this is to keep us from lying.' She said fetching her wand from her purse.

They clasped their left hands together, wands ready muttering the incantation that they were bound to tell each other the truth under all circumstances, until they declared the end of the game. Breaking the pact would result in punishment.

She saw the Dark Mark on his arm as she let go, she traced the fading design.

'Truth?' She asked, Draco nodded. 'Why did you join them?'

'I wasn't really given a choice, I had admired my father and wanted to be like him. I realized what being a Death Eater meant much later. Your turn?'

Hermione pouted she'd wanted more, but he had answered her question.'Truth.'

'I'm going to repeat a question I asked earlier; How would you describe me to someone who has no idea about me?'

She thought for a moment, 'Tall, handsome, well built. Unpredictable temperament but can be gentleman. Witty and intelligent with a pretty good sense of humour. Excellent at potion making and very well read. And even though he was a Death Eater, he actually helped us win against Voldemort.'

Draco smiled and said, 'I'd like to add that I'm really glad I could be of any help. I'm sorry I didn't do much when it came to helping you. But aunt Bella despised us as much as she was threatened by you. She was a real psycho. Truth.'

'What do you wish you'd done differently?'

'Other than my entire life. I suppose, I wish I had been friends with all of you. I mean, Harry has actually been quite nice and we're planning on having a friendly quidditch game with a couple of my buddies and him and the Weasleys'. You should join us.'

Hermione frowned at Draco, he wanted to be friends with Harry and the others, but he had certainly refused to be friends with her.

'Truth? What happened between Ron and you?'

Hermione had told him only the other day but she supposed he wanted to understand, though why he cared she wasn't certain. She was beginning to consider the possibility that he was interested in her beyond a physical sense.

'Ron and I have been friends for a really long time and while Harry and I shared a sibling like bond, it wasn't the same with Ron. I suppose I developed a crush on him and he eventually reciprocated it. The stress of the war and living on the run brought us closer and we thought that there was something real. However, after the war we were busy putting the world back together and while we were still good friend's, the chemistry didn't feel right. There really was no love between us, other than the friendly kind. By the end of May we had called it quits. I suppose, there would have been something in the papers if we'd behaved differently. But the truth is we were friends who thought we were in love and just continued being friends. Since neither one of us is actively dating someone, no one has noticed.' Hermione giggled.

'Truth.' Draco said. Her answer told him what had happened and that there were no feelings on either side.

'I want you to be as detailed as possible in your answer. What are your feelings for me?' Hermione looked him straight in the eye, she didn't look the least bit tipsy, her eyes focused on his face.

Draco blinked at the sudden change in her body language.

'I love you. I have loved you for a very long time that's why I can't be friends with you. It's very inconvenient to love someone you've been trained to hate and it's easy to misread your own emotions. I don't expect you to return my feelings or anything like that.'

Hermione knocked back the rest of her wine. She had decided to torment him but it seemed like she had been doing so anyways. Maybe it was time to change it.

'Truth' She looked at him with a smile.

'Why did you kiss me back, yesterday?'

'It felt like the right thing to do. Dare.' Her grin widened.

'I dare you to physically display how attractive you find me, through your actions.'

'There's something I need to know before I do my dare. Are you seeing anyone?' Hermione just hadn't considered it until now.

'No Hermione, I'm not dating anyone. Regardless of my attempts to redeem myself in the eyes of the world. I'm not exactly a desirable life partner.'

Draco said stretching out his arms as his eyes challenged her to accept him.

Hermione stood before him, bent over and kissed him slowly and gently. She sucked on his lower lip before running her tongue over it and coaxing his mouth open. Draco sat still until she sat on his lap and whispered in a husky voice, 'I find you very desirable, Draco Malfoy. Do you dare to quench my desires?'

In the next moment Hermione found herself pressed between the couch and Draco's body while he kissed her with the full force of his desire. She was almost out of breath when he began kissing her neck. Hermione smiled as she swapped positions with Draco, so that he was pinned under her, a small giggle escaping her lips.

'I like this view. Much better angle.' Draco commented with an appraising glance. Hermione looked down to find that he had undone the buttons and had a nice view of her in her lace bra and panties.

'Oh my!' The loud gasp halted their amorous activities. Draco sat up with Hermione still on his lap trying to desperately button up the shirt.

Narcissisa Malfoy walked into the living room and took the chair besides the couch. One look at her son's dishevelled hair and the way he held the girl on his lap as well as said girl's fidgeting made it undoubtedly clear what was happening prior to her arrival. If all the moaning hadn't been a dead giveaway.

'Draco and Ms. Granger, I'm sorry to interrupt. I was hoping you'd like to join me for tea tomorrow evening.'

Hermione maneuvered herself on to the couch, her face red with embarrassment.

'Are you busy tomorrow, Hermione?' Draco asked politely. Hermione shook her head.

'We'd be delighted to join you. And thanks for bringing Hermione's dress and fixing it.' He said noticing the bag she'd set down beside her.

'My pleasure. It seems it was much to your pleasure too.' Narcissisa laughed noticing the indications of intense lovemaking that decorated the couple before her.

'I look forward to seeing you two tomorrow. We have a lot to talk about. You two should probably get back to things too.' She said disappearing with a soft pop.

Hermione stared at Draco, 'Could you please tell me why I'm having tea with your mom?'

'My mom knows how I feel about you. She knew before I did, I think, because when I finally decided to tell her she just said I know. My father wouldn't have been too happy but he's no longer here to object.'

'Draco, I'm not sure about this. I like you and you're very attractive but I'm not in love. All I can promise is giving this a shot. Is that ok with you?'

'A chance at love is more than I could ask for and more than enough for me. Let's give it a shot.' Draco smiled at her.

She smiled as sat up straighter and extended her hand to him. Draco kissed her knuckles before drawing her towards himself. He nuzzled her neck inhaling her scent. Hermione pulled back to look at his face. He looked happy and she realized that he really looked gorgeous when he smiled. Maybe she didn't love him yet, but there was hope.

The End

Hope you enjoyed it!
