-The History of Perseus Part 2-

Artemis POV

"Percy you need to get up." I called. It had been 9 years since Apollo and I took Percy from Delos, since then I've been raising him for the most part. Apollo helps out where he can but he's not really equipped to raise a child. Thus Percy has primarily become my responsibility not that I mind my little brother is way too adorable for his own good.

Sadly it seemed he had no skill with a bow. I assume this is due to his father's blood, however he has shown a knack for throwing knives, nothing truly exceptional though

"Sis?" Percy called, his voice strained.

"Over here." I replied walking toward his tent. Percy sounded scared and I didn't know why, had the alarm spells I cast failed. I opened the flap to Percy's tent and froze. Percy was sitting on his knees trying to get a good look at the black wings with sparse silver feathers sprouting from his back.

It took all my willpower not to squeal like Aphrodite, he just looked so adorable with those little wings and it was only amplified by the semi worried look on his face. "Am I a monster?" Percy asked.

"No no." I said pulling him into a hug. "You're not a monster Percy sometimes gods simply develop unique traits to better match their domains. I mean remember when we told you about mom's twin Lelantos his domains were hunting and the air. He had ten bronze wings. Horus the Egyptian god of the air has wings as well. All this means is that you probably have a celestial domain like Apollo and me self. You could probably even make the disappear if you want them to."

"Really?" Percy asked hopefully.

"Yes just try imagining them disappear." Percy closed his eyes, scrunched up his face , and slowly the wings dissipated into shadows. "See!" I said.

"Hey Percy!" Apollo called from outside the tent. "Get out here I brought you something."

Percy excited to see his brother rushed outside to meet Apollo. I chuckled at my brother's rapid mood swing and followed him out of the tent.

Outside Percy was hopping all over Apollo trying to see what was behind his back "Hey let me see! Let me see!" He whined.

"No I don't think I will." Apollo laughed skillfully evading Percy's attempts .to peer around his back.

"Pleeeease." Percy whined again trying to dive between Apollo's legs only to have him his brother hop away with a chuckle.

"Nice try but not good enough little brother."

"Apollo." I said letting him know it was time to end his little joke.

Apollo rolled his eyes but relented telling Percy to settle down. Slowly almost painfully so he pulled a simple Celestial bronze sword from behind his back. "Since we've thoroughly proven that you suck at archery-" Percy pouted at his brothers words "-I thought we could try swordsmanship."

Carefully handing Percy the sword Apollo backed away from his little brother far more than necessary. I almost snapped at him but after all of Percy's failed archery attempts I couldn't really blame him. Never before has an arrow come flying at me when I was behind the person firing it.

Percy gave the sword a few practice swings with little difficult before looking up at us with a level of excitement only a child can posses. "Can we start now?" He asked practically bouncing on his heels.

"Sure." Apollo laughed drawing his own blade. Much like myself Apollo was primarily an archer. His sword, like my hunting knives, was his backup weapon. He was proficient with a blade but he was far from anywhere near a true swordsman's level.

Percy and Apollo had a little sparring match, if one could even call it that, Percy was hacking at Apollo like his sword was an axe. Apollo simply blocked or redirected each strike with ease before twisting the blade out of Percy's hand. Percy looked at where his sword had landed with an adorable pout on his face. I would never call Percy a perfectionist but at the same time he hates losing.

"I gotta say that went a lot better than last time." Apollo ruffling Percy's hair.

Percy shook him off and stomped over to his sword. Picking it up he turned back to his brother looking as fierce as an eleven year old possibly could. "I want to try again."

"Okay Percy." Apollo said getting into his stance. Percy launched himself at Apollo attacking just as fiercely as before yet to my surprise his movements were far smother. Each strike flowed at least slightly to the next and he was no longer hacking at Apollo mindlessly. Before I knew it youngest brother was twist my twin brother's sword right out of his hands.

Apollo wasn't even truly trying but we both knew what had happened. Percy may never be a skilled Archer like the two of us but today he had managed to vastly improve his swordsmanship after only a single match. Percy was a sword prodigy.
