Bill could not have been happier. It was only one month into the school year and he had met the love of his life. He had to admit they had a rocky start, but they were in love. They had spent every night for the past two weeks in his room together. One evening while bill was laying on his bed staring at the canopy and his love was sitting brushing her hair at his desk.
"Emily?" Bill asked hesitantly.
"Yes, Billy Willy?"
"I love you"
He said it so matter of factly but he was so scared that she wouldn't say it back.
"Oh um that's great sweetie" she replied nervously.
"Do you love me?" He knew he shouldn't have pushed it, but after spending a month together and every single night in the same bed, he just wanted to know what was holding her back.
"Um, you know what? You look so hot tonight I think I'm ready for another round." Emily got up and unbuttoned Bill's shirt that she was wearing and let it drop to the floor while walking over to him. She climbed on top of him and began to kiss him. Being a teenage boy, Bill almost forgot being upset when he heard something.
"What's that?" He asked turning his head to stop her kisses.
"I didn't hear anything, Willy baby." She began to moan loudly while kissing him even harder.
Bill knew he heard something. He pushed her off and slipped on a shirt. Was it coming from across the hall? The only thing there was Emily's room.
"I think there's someone in your room!" Bill tried to sound manly and protective but was wildly confused.
"Bill come on don't be so stupid come back here." she started to sound annoyed.
"I'm gonna go check it out." He stated
"I'M NAKED, BILL!" She screeched. Bill turned around to see that she was indeed naked.
"Why don't you want me to go into your room?" Bill asked beginning to feel suspicious.
"I don't care if you go into my room. I just want you so badly right now!" She teased. Bill very much wanted to go over to the bed and forget the increasingly loud noises coming from Emily's room, but he knew something was wrong.
"Tell me what's going on, now." Bill was beginning to get angry.
"Fucking fine." The lust/love in her eyes disappeared instantly and was replaced by pure annoyance and hatred. "I can't believe I've been fucking you for this long and you haven't figured it out anyway." She spat. She began to put her clothes on, smirk never leaving her face.
"What are you talking about?" Bill asked close to tears.
"You really think I went from being a bitch to you to loving you in a week? No. I saw an opportunity and I took it. The sounds in my room are Tonks and Brennon Doyle. They rented the room for the night." She was nearly dressed now and said this with no sensitivity whatsoever.
"You've been renting out your room?" Bill still did not understand.
"Yes, Bill. Why else would I spend every night in here? Trust me it's not because I enjoy your company." She said this so bluntly and with an eye roll. "They are supposed to use muffliato so that you wouldn't hear, but they must've forgotten. Idiots."
"How could you do this, Em? I love you." Bill could pass out.
"My name is Emily and no you don't. We have been together for a month and the only reason you think you do is because I've been spouting what you want to hear." She looked at him like he was the biggest idiot. "So now that you know I don't want to see you anymore. I've had more than enough contact with you, Weasley. Now if you could move out of my way, I have a refund to give."
Bill could not believe this. He was dumbstruck. Not ten minutes ago he had been the happiest he'd ever been, and now that all turned out to be a lie. He'd been played.
"Move."
Bill snapped out of it and realized he was blocking the door. He looked up at Emily.
"You'll pay for this. You have no idea what I can do." Bill was pissed now.
"Oh sure little Willy is so scary. Just move out of the way to save yourself your dignity. Actually that's impossible since everyone who won't report it already knows about my little business and what makes it possible. So good luck getting anyone to take you seriously ever again, Weasley. Now move before I hex you."
Bill moved. Emily opened the door and slammed it shut. He heard her bang on her door and yell that their time is up. Bill heard the scuttle of Tonks and Doyle running out into the hallway sneaking back to the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw common rooms hoping not to get caught together. How had no one told him? Bill laid down in his bed and thought of what to do. The hurt he was feeling was disintegrating and slowly but surely being replaced by stone cold hatred. All his six years at Hogwarts had been amazing, he never thought the school would let him down.
The next morning Bill entered the Gryffindor common room and everyone turned to look at him. How had he not figured it out? It's not like people were being subtle. He supposed he was blinded by his affection for Emily. He saw who he was looking for after a minute. He was curled up in a cozy chair by the fire reading a book about Romanian Longhorns.
"Charlie?" Bill said walking up.
"Oh hey Bill? How's head boy life treatin' ya?" Bill was trying to find out whether charlie knew about his situation or not.
"Pretty good, Emily and I broke up though." He wanted to see what Charlie would say.
"Oh no I'm sorry man. What happened? I thought you guys were tight?" It seemed Charlie did not know, and Bill was relieved. If his own brother was keeping secrets, who could he trust? Bill filled Charlie in on what happened and even as he was saying it, became angrier.
"Oh Merlin. That is so messed up. How many people do you think knew about it?" Charlie looked around the room suspiciously.
"I don't know, but I don't particularly care. I have a plan. Can you help me?"
"What kinda plan are you talkin'?" Charlie asked eyeing Bill with curiosity.
"One that will restore my reputation and prove Emily Tyler isn't the only one here who can be bad."
