Alright, I'm done this collection and the challenge. I've never written Luna/Harry before this and I think I did pretty good. The challenge was so much fun and I had a blast. I hope you all have a great day.
Harry hummed quietly to himself while flipping another pancake on the stove. Sure, he could've used magic to make then but the muggle way was comforting. They tasted better too.
"Morning, Harry," came a sleepy voice.
Harry turned to see Luna, his girlfriend, standing in the doorway of the kitchen. She was in pajamas and her hair was sticking up in every direction. She looked beautiful.
"Good morning, Luna," he planted a kiss on her cheek.
She smiled. "Pancakes. What's the special occasion?"
"Nothing," he said, trying to sound normal. He secretly patted his right pant pocket. The one with his surprise in it.
Luna bit her lip in thought. "You're definitely hiding something. You have that look in your eyes."
Harry frowned, Luna was very good at reading expressions. He flipped a pancake onto her plate and grinned. "Don't you trust me?"
She laughed. "Of course, I trust you, silly."
"Good. Now eat your pancakes."
"Okay, thanks."
He waited until she was happily munching one of them before grabbing the whipped cream and spraying a dollop on her nose.
"Hey!" she cried out in shock as he scooped her up in her arms. Her feet dangled from the air and she squealed.
"You're adorable," he whispered. "Did you know that?"
He could feel her grinning against his shirt. "You tell me that everyday. I think I can trust your judgement."
He spun her around and she leaned into him softly. Harry couldn't help but love Luna. This beacon of light in his life. She had wriggled her way into his heart and he would never let her go. It was time.
"Do you trust me?" he murmured against her hair.
"I'll always trust you." The answer came so easily to her.
He took a deep breath, set her down, then dropped down to one knee. Luna gasped as she saw the velvet box in his hand. With trembling fingers, he opened the box to reveal the ring inside.
The ring was a golden band with two heart shaped jewels. The first was a pearl, for Luna and her beautiful innocence. The second was an emerald, for him. Green had always been his favourite colour and Luna had grown to like it as well.
She was looking at Harry with a closed expression on her face. His heart sank. Was this a mistake? What if she didn't want to get married. His stomach was twisting. What if—
He toppled over as she came crashing into him. The tiles were cool against his skin. She was hugging him so tight he could barely breathe. But it was worth it. A million times worth it as she whispered yes into his ear. Over and over.
When they had stopped hugging, he placed the ring on her finger. She smiled at the twinkling jewels and he smiled too. He would spend the rest of his life with the amazing woman next to him.
Forever.
