Chapter 2

(3 years since the twins were born)

Atlanta POV

"Okay so we have 80 arrows in perfect shape not counting what the individual hunters have." I scribbling some notes down on my note pad.

"How's inventory going." Lady Artemis said walking over to me.

"It's going alright, and how's your little helper doing?" I said looking at Sam who was holding his mother's hand "I swear that kid is strapped to your hip."

"That may be true but he doesn't mind, do you Sam." Artemis said, Sam just smiled in response.

I shook my head "Well the throwing knives...we just need to get more. Cara still hasn't sharpened the hunting knives and we need to remake the targets. The arrows will probably be fine for another week or two but we should probably start fixing the old ones".

"Sounds good" Artemis said "I need to go check on Phoebe and the food stores". I nodded

"Um could we maybe talk later….in private?" I asked.

"Sure, we'll talk after I get back from visiting my brother." she said.

Nico POV

"Jace you need to stay closer" I said carrying him back to where me and Percy were sitting.

"Daddy!" he whined.

"Don't daddy me, it's rude to leave your date behind." I said setting him next to Luna.

"Don't let Arty hear you say that" Percy said "She already decided Luna's going to be a maiden for 3000 years just like her".

"Hey where is Artemis by the way?" I asked.

"She took Sam to Apollo again." He said.

"Really?" I laughed.

"It's really bugging her that Sam isn't talking yet. Apparently she read somewhere that it's known to be caused by bad parenting." He said "To be honest I think Sam isn't talking because he doesn't need to. He points randomly across the room and Artemis knows exactly what he wants, it's like she can read his mind."

"So she is a good mother?" I asked.

"Absolutely, from the day Luna and Sam were born she just knew what was safe for them to have or play with and she spends as much time with them as possible, I think it's because of her domain over childbirth helping her. Now that the kids our older she's a little insecure. Between Luna's first word being Daddy and Sam not saying anything she's getting really antsy. If Sam wasn't so attached to her she'd probably think she was the worst mother ever".

"Hey!" Jace whined, I looked back down at the kids to see Luna had apparently splashed Jace with some water and he was now sitting in mud.

"Guess playtime's over" I said picking Jace up "your mother's going to want you bathed before dinner anyway".

"See ya dead breath." Percy said as I shadow traveled back to my palace.

My palace wasn't all that different from Percy's to be honest, the walls were made of a grey and black marble and the bottom of the pool was lined with dark red tiles so the water looked like lava. Percy said my palace was like the twilight zone version of his which wasn't that far off. "Now time for your bath." I said holding Jace in front of me. Jace just giggled then touched my face and hair with his muddy hands "And my bath apparently."

Artemis POV

I was sitting in my tent going over reports and hunting forms when Atlanta walked in "Milady can I talk to you?" She asked.

"Sure" I said putting my papers aside.

Atlanta blushed deeply "You remember 3 years ago when you said we would be allowed to date if we wanted."

"Ya wh.." I trailed off as I realized why she was asking. "So who is he?".

"His name's Jess from the Ares' cabin." Atlanta said shyly. "He's really nice and we got to talk over medical treatments for demigods. Normally I wouldn't think to pursue it but now with things changing well.." She said.

I nodded and took a deep breath "I've heard quite a bit about him from Percy and I will allow a relationship between you but just give me some time to figure out how it's gonna work with our current circumstances."

"I understand, you need to think about Samuel and Luna ." She said sadly.

"Hey I'm not saying no, I'm just saying wait a few days. Were not going back to camp half blood for a week and I'll have a solution for you before then. Now I've got to go for the council meeting please keep an eye on things, you know the drill." I said.

Atlanta POV

As soon as lady Artemis flashed out Samuel shot by my leg for where his mother was standing.

He looked around for a couple seconds then looked at me with teary eyes and pointed where his mother used to be. "Oh it's okay Sam your mommy's going to be back in the morning." I said picking him up. I carried him back to his bed and set him down. The second I let go he got up and ran back to where he was before. I looked at Samuel wondering what I was going to do, thankfully Sam's older sister Melissa came to my rescue.

Ever since Melissa become an older sister she takes her job very seriously staying up for Luna when she had a nightmare and now it seems she's going to do the same for her little brother. I smiled seeing the sibling love, and walked out to finish my duties. Outside Perseus was preparing to leave for camp half-blood, he did this every year during the council meeting to make sure the campers didn't get to crazy like the had when Dionysus left.

While he's gone Thalia and Nico usually looked after all the illegal born children so they could spend time together and they would switch with Frank and Hazel during the Winter Solstice. This was mostly due to the safety granted by Ogygia. I quickly told them what was going on then headed to bed.

Third person POV

After seeing Sam, Percy agreed to let him stay where he was as long as he listened to his sister. All night Sam and Melissa stayed there, Sam never once fell asleep but Melissa did around 1 AM.

Just after the sun rose that morning Lady Artemis flashed to just outside the camp wanting nothing more then to check on her three kids then get some sleep.

Percy flashed in right behind her. Artemis too tired to speak embraced her husband giving him a peck on the lips. The two separated and walked silently into camp. The hunters standing guard waved in greeting as the couple passed by.

Inches from their tent a red and black haired blur came flying from in between the flaps of the tent straight into Artemis before she could even react with a shout of "Mommy!" .
