Prologue

Up in the realm of the gods, the deities of the Japanese and Norse pantheons are all looking with disapproval at what they were seeing developing in an alternative timeline to the prime timelines. The particular timeline that's branching off is one having to do with a young viking named Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third, who managed to peacefully end the war between man and dragons. But there's a problem.

In the original timeline, Hiccup creates a device known as the Mangler. A type of portable contraption that's a mix of a catapult and a crossbow that he designed to launch bolas which are much too heavy for his small frame. He uses it to shoot down the most elusive species of dragon known to viking kind: the Night Fury. But instead of being mortal enemies out to gut each other like most Vikings and dragons would become, Hiccup and the Night Fury, Toothless, become friends. The young viking learns much about the dragons from Toothless, even discovering that everything the Vikings think they know about dragons is wrong. Eventually, the two would fight together against a demon in dragon skin known as the Red Death, freeing the dragons from her control and bringing about peace between man and dragons.

But that's not meant to be in the timeline the gods are currently viewing.

In the timeline that's branching off from the main timeline, Hiccup has been born far weaker than he was in the original timeline. As a result, he's as good as dead. And what's worse is that his mother, Valka Haddock, has died in childbirth due to the stresses of premature labor, leaving no one to stop them from sending Hiccup on a floating funeral raft to either die of starvation, exposure to the elements, or even drowning. Which in turn leaves the future a very dark one.

Now, thanks to the foolish and shortsightedness of Berk's Vikings, the gate of the world is in jeopardy! The Red Death will continue to enslave more and more dragons until all of Berk has been destroyed, only to eventually be stopped by the White Bewilderbeast who will free the enslaved dragons and welcome them to his nest. But then, Drago Bludvist will come along and enslave them all over again by having his own Bewilderbeast, the Muddy King, kill the White King before moving on to enslave the entire archipelago with his army of dragons. But it won't end there. Disaster after disaster will occur until Odin is forced to bring about Ragnarok.

Armageddon…

Judgment Day…

The end of the world…!

And it angers the Gods and Goddesses that something like this could possibly have happened.

"We must do something to stop this horrible future from coming about!" exclaimed Thor, the Norse God of Thunderstorms.

"I know, but what can we do?" asked Susanoo, the Japanese God of Storms.

"I don't know." Thor said honestly. "But it'd be great if we could simply pluck Hiccup from this timeline and place him in another universe as a Child of Prophecy."

There was a pause for a moment before every single God and Goddess facepalmed. Though, technically, Thor hit himself in the face with his own hammer by accident. How could they be so stupid as to think something like this couldn't be done? There have been many heroes of prophecy in the past, so why can't there be one now?

Kami, the Japanese Goddess of Life and Light was quick to recover from her lapse in judgement and quickly got to work on a plan. First things first, they need to find a new world to send this version of Hiccup to. A world where there is no child of prophecy. After about a minute of searching, she found one that will suit their needs perfectly. A version of the Shinobi universe where their own child of prophecy's opponents are actually far stronger than they're supposed to be. Briefly looking into this child of prophecy's future, she and the other Gods took notice that the child's growth as a warrior will be stunted by the very village they have sworn to protect. All because they contain the strongest of the nine Biju.

They will only get the bare minimum of training and will thus be forced to rely on the youki of the Kyuubi, while at the same time being only able to spam Shadow Clones rather than use any real strategy and elemental technique. And a certain perverted, freeloading toad sage will only use the child as a means to an end, hoping to further his own prestige instead of acting in the best interests of peace.

But she knows that if Hiccup is to help this child of prophecy, he can't do it alone. He needs the help of the greatest enemy of the vikings. One that would later become their greatest friends and allies.

The aid of the dragons.

"Thor, Loki, go down and retrieve Hiccup. Prepare to have him sent to his new home." Kami ordered.

The two Gods went to do this without question or complaint as Kami started scouting out the dragons. Not only does she need to find an exceptionally powerful dragon to act as Hiccup's ally and spirit guide, but she also needs plenty of dragons for a brand new Summoning Contract.

Poll Question: Between these two, which of these dragons should I use for a Biju in my new How To Train Your Dragon/Naruto crossover?

European Dragon

Asian Dragon

Short chapter, I know. In fact, I know that it's pathetically short. But it's meant to show that this version of Hiccup is not from the original How To Train Your Dragon timeline. Also meant to just introduce the story. Please don't forget to cast your votes on the poll mentioned above (votes in reviews do not count), and have a blessed day.
