Our Earth

A few months before Morgan comes back for Iron Man 2

Morgan had- to her annoyance- three brothers. Lucky for her that she was the eldest of them. She didn't know how she'd handle being an ageless Jumper, and have an older brother talk down to her.

The eldest of her brothers was Derek. He was a year and a half human years younger than Morgan. They looked enough alike. His eyes were a dark blue, nothing like Morgan's bright amber. His hair-while black- didn't have any outrageous curls. He still had his baby fat in his cheeks.

The next brother was Terence. Now this boy was tiny. Imagine Steve Rogers pre-serum and you had her brother. Except, well, he wasn't allergic to everything with asthma. Terence had the mind of Tony Stark. Terence was three grades ahead in his math and sciences, getting awards for his superb math skills.

The third brother was a baby, so he didn't get to go see Captain America in theatres.

"What did you think of Captain America?" Their dad asked them once they made it back to the car.

He'd taken them to the movie at the insistence of his eldest kids. With a promise that once they watched the movie, they would do their summer workbooks. Such was the summer of a teacher's kid.

Morgan already did her's. As per usual, she forgot to hand it in. Seeing Captain America was just a reward to her.

Morgan had loved it. Not only was the movie nice, with the right amount of angst and add-ons for Howard's A+ Parenting, it gave her an excuse to think about her own Marvel-Universe. She was looking forward to bringing Darcy along. Morgan knew that her sister would only make the superhero universe all the more exciting.

They climbed inside the car before answering.

"It was great!" Morgan cheered. She was snacking on the popcorn they had left. "I liked the part where- where Peggy shot Steve with the shield. He looked funny when he hid behind it."

Derek stepped in with his opinion. "It was alright. You know it wasn't the best movie, compared to the others. I get why they had to do it though. They need to set up for Avengers."

"And the Infinity Stone." Terence added.

Derek clicked his fingers, pointing at Terence. "That's right! They did a good job with that."

Their conversation got Morgan's attention. She'd done her own research on the Marvel-verse, of course. Unfortunately at the time it had been focused on Tony Stark. She hadn't updated her knowledge since the Iron Man 2. With Captain America, she'd look it all up once she had the chance.

The internet was great. It had nothing on her nerd dictionary (nerdtionary) brothers.

"Infinity Stone?" Morgan asked, trying to sound like an inept person rather than her normal self.

Derek nodded. "The Tesseract, that blue glowing cube? In the comics, it was the Cosmic Cube. Guess they had to change it or something. It's the Space Stone."

"Which is...important?" Morgan prompted. She made a mental note about the Cosmic Cube.

"Really important." Terence remarked. "It's one of the six Infinity Stones."

"You said that." Morgan pointed out. "But it's a cube, not a stone."

Her two brothers let out a sigh. A 'she's an idiot for not getting this why is she the older sibling' sigh.

"The Space Stone is inside the Tesseract." Derek explained, long suffering. "They built the Cube to contain the power of the Space Stone. If anyone held it they'd end up like Red Skull."

"The Stones are super powerful, right?" Terence jumped in. Morgan was writing this all down, mentally. "I wonder where they're putting the other ones."

"Others?"

"There are six stones." Terence began. "The Power, Reality, Mind, Time, and Soul Stones. They each have different powers, and colors."

"In the comics, anyway." Derek added.

Morgan was soaking it all in like a sponge.

Mr Spencer was wondering what he did to be blessed with such clever sons.

"What if you got all six?" Morgan asked.

Derek and Terence winced.

"That's not good, I'm guessing?" Morgan winced herself.

"In the comics, somebody managed to collect all six in the Infinity Gauntlet." Derek explained. "He wanted to kill everybody because he's in love with Death- the actual Death."

"It's funny because Deadpool loves Death too, so Thanos cursed him to be immortal."

"Thanos." Morgan breathed out. Her eyes were blown out as if she'd been given her greatest wish. "He wants to kill everyone?"

"Yeah. He's doing it to make Death love him." Derek explained. "He can only do that with all of the Infinity Stones, which he does in the Infinity War comic. According to Marvel, that's the final movie in Phase 3."

"What phase are we in?"

"One. The next movie is Avengers- it comes out next year." Derek looked over to his dad.

The human laughed. "We'll see about seeing it, Derek."

"Tell me more about Thanos." Morgan asked. She had to fight to keep her eagerness out of her voice. She knew about the Avengers. Nick Fury had asked her to join, of course she knew about it. "He loves Death? Sounds weird."

"Well he's a Titan." Terence answered. "They're weird."

"He's the biggest villain in the Marvel Comics." Derek added. "That I've seen, anyway."

Morgan breathed out. She reached into the popcorn bucket, eating another handful. "Did the Avengers stop him?"

Derek winced.

That was when Morgan decided, at age thirteen, that it was her destiny to kill Thanos.

Later that day, Morgan was talking to her sister.

It had been a challenge to keep Darcy out of sight this summer. Her brothers were always home, they were on vacation more often this year, and Darcy was going through puberty. Somehow Morgan had managed it.

Morgan had turned on a radio channel on her TV, turning it up loud enough to cover the sounds of her conversation.

Darcy was lounging on Morgan's bed, having been watching TV. Morgan's mother had been working downstairs so she didn't notice the sound from Morgan's room.

"How was the movie?" Darcy asked.

Morgan offered her the popcorn bucket. Darcy took the offering while her sister took place beside her on the bed.

"Good." Morgan answered. "Awesome sarcasm, and jokes. You'd like Howard. And the joke about fondue."

"Why?"

"It was a euphemism."

"Now I have to be in it." Darcy stated. She smirked, chuckling at her innuendo.

"Not without time travel." Morgan remarked dryly.

"You're a tech genius. Build me one." Darcy ordered. She crunched down on another handful of popcorn.

"Oh gee, sis, I'll get right on that." Morgan snarked. "I'll just go pop off and get a Delorean."

Darcy waited a moment.

"I'm being sarcastic you little shit." Morgan scolded.

Darcy pouted. Morgan snorted at her sister.

"Anything I need to know?" Darcy asked. "A fun post credit scene at least?"

Morgan's mind ran. She could tell Darcy about the Infinity Stones, the Infinity War, Thanos and his courtship with Death.

She knew what her sister would do.

Her assassin little sister.

So she decided on the best course for her task.

"I called dibs on someone." Morgan replied.

Darcy choked on popcorn.

"A boy."

Darcy coughed, louder.

Morgan-rolling her eyes- punched her back.

Darcy coughed out the popcorn. "What?!" She yelped in a hoarse voice. "You can't just drop that on me! Who was it? Tell me who it was. You've never shown any interest in any boy ever. Who was he? Was it Loki? You watch him a lot."

"Shut up." Morgan demanded, fighting to keep a blush off her face. She was supposed to be angry, dammit, not fighting a blush because her sister was teasing her.

"You were totally watching him." Darcy reminded her sister, nodding her head solemnly. "Holy fuck- the two of you in a room together? I'm legit afraid for the universe."

"Shut up! It's not-that's not it!" Morgan's blush won. "Shut up!"

"You like Loki!" Darcy teased, sing-songy at Morgan. "You like Loki!"

"I'm gonna kill you!" Morgan replied in the same tune. She punched her sister's arm.

Darcy giggled- choking on a kernel for a minute from laughing and also pain. "You're not denying it."

"I don't need to- let me finish." Morgan sat back up against the headboard. "It's not like that." Darcy waggled her eyebrows. "It's a kill." Morgan spared her sister anymore trouble.

It didn't spare her, apparently. Darcy choked again.

"Was the post-credit scene of Loki dying?!" Darcy asked.

Morgan glared at her sister. She didn't appreciate the joke. Loki was too precious to die. "No. My brothers told me about the guy after the movie. They said he's gonna show up in a few human years, called Infinity War."

"And you get to kill him because...? Killing's my thing. I wanna hear why I can't-"

"Because I. Called. Dibs."

Darcy tensed.

Whatever it was the Spencer boys had told Morgan, whatever 'Dibs-Kill' had done to deserve this, Darcy pitied him.

Well almost.

AN: Well...it's done now. Hope everyone enjoyed the ride! NM2 ended around 52k words over the course of fourteen months. It's meant so much to see so many of you sticking around with Morgan/Becky in her adventures in the MCU! There will be a lot more to come, especially since I have so many days at home with nothing better to do.

Stay safe, and stay home.

Thanks to Bluegirl-334 for favoriting/following!

To be continued in...Loki. (Due to River Song being in it, and the weird rules of the site, if I want her to be a listed character I have to make the fic a crossover. It'll be under Thor/DoctorWho Crossover)
