I do not own Danny Phantom (Butch Hartman) or Darling in The Franxx (CloverWorks?), they are owned and created by their respective people. (The names in the brackets if you hadn't realized.)
No Phantom Planet.
Danny has developed some new powers. You can check out my Danny Phantom Theories work for more detailed info if you want.
I apologize if Danny is a bit OOC, this isn't intentional so much as my writing style sometimes. I'll try to stay in character but you've been warned there may be times where he's out of character.
Danny had a massive headache.
The first thing he realizes once his headache clears away a bit is the sound of water next to him.
He starts to stir a bit, as his headache calms down a little.
Danny's hand falls into the water as he slightly rolls over. Cold.
Danny a bit more awake and less groggy although still with a constant minor headache, sits up. Rapidly. Bad idea as his head started pounding again before subsiding.
The water ices over where his hand is due to the panic. Danny unfreezes it.
He looks around noticing that he looks to be in a forest meadow.
"Ugh, did somebody get the plate number of the freight train that hit me?" Not caring about whether or not trains even have license plates.
He just sits still for awhile longer trying to clear his head so that he can begin recollecting his thoughts as to how he got to wherever he is.
After a few more moments Danny goes to stand now that his headache has subsided for the most part. Danny notices a metallic surface next to where he woke up.
Upon inspection reveals that it is the Fenton Ecto-Skeleton; or rather what's left of it. It seems the skeleton didn't have the durability to stay together anymore as most of the heap looked like scrap metals.
Danny sighs and uses one of his new abilities he's trained with as he grew. The pile of metals that used to be the Ecto-Skeleton disappeared from sight as it was absorbed in Danny's own personal subspace. Danny learned he had this ability when he thought more about his morphing ability and was wondering what happened to his clothes every-time he transformed.
Clockwork has also mentioned that he would continue to grow and gain abilities for as long as his immortal life was around. Oh yeah, that was another bombshell the master of time decided to drop on him, he's an eternal youth now apparently. Apparently being half-ghost means he's still fully dead and thus aging will no longer kill him, also that he was the only stable "halfa" that would live forever as lonely as that is. Now Danny would complain a lot more if he was stuck at his 14 year old appearance forever but Clockwork had told him that later on in life he'd be able to control what age he looks to be, but for now he finishes his ghostly puberty and looks like a 16 year old. Luckily that is his natural age as of the moment as well.
He's been a "halfa" for a full 2 and a half years now. He would only have one more year of school left if it weren't for some complications that has made be held back a grade. He took the obvious science and math courses in grade 10 the first time around as he doesn't want to give up being an astronaut, and the second time around he figured he'd try to make life easier on himself by selecting some courses he assumed would be easier from the electives roster. The first being philosophy which made him think things through a lot more; he would've never guessed how much insight the class gave him as a hero, he just wishes the course was as easy as it seemed when he first picked it. His second elective was psychology in both respect to Jazz and so that he could get her help with the course whenever he was behind due to ghostly troubles. His last two electives for the semester were hospitality and tourism which taught him how to be a better cook and a care-taking/parenting course; at least the cooking class was a bit enjoyable (and tasty) but he somewhat regrets taking the care-taking course. He had thought it would be an easy to pass course that wouldn't interfere with his ghost hunting activities too much as he couldn't imagine much homework coming from the class, oh how he was wrong. Well something did come out of taking the course, whether it was good or bad is debatable but he supposed it was better to find out sooner rather than later.
During one of the partner assignments to take care of a doll baby Danny found out some of Sam's less enjoyable qualities due to how petty and jealous she was of his partner who was trying to be friendly with him. After seeing how controlling and possessive Sam was being just because a girl wanted to be his friend he started to see some of her other flaws that sort of just ignored before. She tried to change the cafeteria menu to mud and grass now that he thinks more about it! He might've not blamed the Lunch Lady ghost had that gone on for much longer. So he confronted her about some of the issues he did actually have with her and she went and told his parents about his ghost half to try and prove a point that she knew what was best for him and "that his parents would never try to hurt him if he told them the truth!" Like he wouldn't know his own flesh and blood.
Well things backfired and his parents turned on him, Jazz packed his things and told him to run while she held back their parents. He grabbed the damaged Fenton Ecto-Skeleton just in case he would need the extra fire power and jumped through the ghost portal and freezing the portal permanently shut with un-melting and un-breaking ghost ice. Well it could melt and break but only with some seriously extreme amounts of heat and/or force.
Now that he's got most of his memories in order besides how he got to wherever he was exactly. He started looking around again, Danny notices the duffel bag his sister packed for him and checks inside to see if anything was damaged in his travels. All looks good, and he can even see all of his textbooks for each of his classes from all semesters he's been in school packed for him as well. He chuckled, "thanks Jazz, still caring about my education even in moments like these." He wiped the tears coming from his eyes and zipped the bag before placing it in his personal sub-dimension like with the Fenton Ecto-Skeleton.
"Now let's find where I am. And if Clockwork's got anything to do with this, why as well."
Since this is a prologue and not yet the actual story I've a question to determine which way this story will go. I need you all to vote/suggests starting points for this, as in which point in the show/timeline am I going to drop Danny in. It has to be an early part though. ?
So in this Danny has been a "halfa" for about 2 and a half years and as you may have read already is developing some new powers still. Admittedly I paused watching the rest of Darling In The FranXX about 3 quarters through. I wanna read the manga first before continuing to the end of the anime so that I avoid spoilers and get both experiences to their fullest. Since I'll likely be reading the manga I apologize if (when) this takes a while to update, I do this for fun and typically on a whim so I don't really have a schedule. I may continue writing on my other 20-ish works in progress.
In any case I hope you enjoy what I write even if it is mostly for myself. Feel free to leave any comments or suggestions. I'll try to make future chapters longer, this one was just more of a prologue than anything and that seemed like a good place to end off.
In case you haven't noticed, I don't like Sam and I have made sure to make it so that Danny has no reason to try to get home and that no other cast members from Danny Phantom will be following him to this new world.
