Chapter 14: Broken!
Groaning at the light hitting her eyes, Alexinia couldn't believe the dream she had last night. That Nik had caught her masturbating to the thought of him and taken her virginity, bringing her to climax twice after her own self brought climax. When she tried to move she found she couldn't and could feel something sliding inside her at her slight movement. Eyes popping open she only just controlled her scream of shock as her eyes locked on Nik's naked body, his dick still deep inside her. It hadn't been a dream she had really slept with Nik! After swearing to herself she would never cross that line she had. Last night she had been out of her mind in lust. Needing Nik more then she had ever needed anything in her life.
"Good morning love," Nik growled huskily his eyes warm as she felt him hardening inside of her. She knew she should stop him, tell him that last night was a mistake, but instead she found herself moaning at the pleasure shooting through her.
This time she couldn't blame it on anything other then her own desires. Raking her nails down his back she hissed as he hit a spot deep inside her that caused her womb to clench and try to milk him for all he was worth. If he hadn't been a vampire she would worry about getting pregnant, but she hadn't taken any of the necessary potions for a witch to procreate with a vampire, so she just allowed herself to enjoy the sensations he was causing in her.
Hissing she realized that her vagina was getting sore, her muscles stretched in ways they had never been before finally catching up to her through the pleasure Nik was causing her. Realizing this hiss wasn't the good kind Nik slowed down carefully withdrawing himself from her in a way that kept the pain to a minimum, regret showing on his face, but she knew it wasn't regret for what they had done rather he regretted hurting her.
Bounding off the bed without a word to her she wondered if maybe she wouldn't have to tell Nik they shouldn't cross this line again after tonight. Maybe now that they had fucked it was out of his system and they could just go back to being friends. Even if the thought of that caused her heart to clench in terror. Crossing the line seemed to be skewing her opinion on things to do with Nik, just like she had always known it would.
Alexinia was a little surprised when instead of having run off back to his own room like she had imagined, Nik came back picking her up into his arms cradling her gently as he walked her to her bathroom. A bath that smelled sweetly of healing herbs had been prepared and Nik lowered her into it. Sighing in pleasure at the perfect temperature she was again surprised when instead of leaving her to her bath Nik slipped in behind her.
"Nik..."
"Not yet, let's just enjoy our bath love," he cut her off. She wished she could see his face and know what he was thinking instead of him being behind her. Probably not wanting to let her dwell on her thoughts Nik started rubbing her shoulders, pressing away aches and pains in her arms she hadn't realized were there. Apparently being in a war had ruined her sense of pain and made it hard for her to tell when she had overworked herself.
He was sweet their entire time in the bath, he didn't try to bring her to the peak once again, instead he was gentle and methodical as he cleaned her. It was a little humbling knowing that the big bad original hybrid was so caring for her after he had taken her virginity. That she had basically begged him last night after he had given her an out, even when he had been out of his mind with lust he had still tried to respect her wishes. Something that must have been hard for him considering the scene he had walked in on.
What had she done to deserve him? Nothing! And here she wanted to hurt him again. Because she just couldn't think of how a relationship between them would work. Not when Nik didn't want to turn her and she was supposed to die in the next century. His ardor for her would eventually die when she started to get older over time. Or perhaps she would die young and there would be nothing he could do about it. Why would Nik put himself through that pain with her? She knew he felt something deep for her, he would have never risked what they had for mere lust, but just how deep did it run? Could he let her go when the time came? Could he allow her to be happy if she chose someone else in the future? She loved Nik, but was she in love with him? There was just too much between them. Too many obstacles they would need to overcome.
Jumping out of the tub she panicked, what was she doing, why was she still here with Nik? She should be giving the two of them space. Not letting Nik think she could be okay with them starting anything. Sharing a bath together was almost domestic. Alexinia just didn't have it in her to hold a normal relationship.
"Xinia love, we can work through this together, please don't run off on me again. We are consenting adults, not lust driven teenagers..."
She laughed at that last night certainly had seemed like they were lust driven teenagers, unable to regain control. "Nik I don't..."
"You don't know what to do, I know love, but neither do I. We happened, it was bloody amazing, and completely backwards. That is not how I imagined our first time would happen. I thought it would be after months of my courting you and proving to you that a relationship between us wouldn't be the end of our friendship, but rather just taking it to the next level. I love you Xinia, I would never do anything to hurt you, but last night was too much for our current relationship I know that, but that doesn't mean we can't try for something new."
Alexinia ogled at him not believing that Nik had just admitted he loved her and she knew he meant he was in love with her. Of course there had been times her mind had lapsed over the years and she had thought he acted the way she had seen Fred act towards Hermione, but she had hoped she had been wrong. She had thought Nik would be the one person to remain in her life unchanging. He was a damn immortal, he wasn't supposed to fall in love with his mortal best friend.
Yet at the same time her heart warmed knowing that he had wanted more for them. That he had thought endlessly on the topic of their relationship. Merlin it made her want to just give in. To give the two of them a chance. But she was still so frightened. She had watched the first boy she had a crush on die in front of her very eyes, witnessed the deaths of her mother and godfather, what did that say about the people who loved her? Nik's immortal though, it would take a lot of magic and curse breaking to even come up with a way to kill him. Did that mean that she could just give her heart away?
"It's too soon, I'm sorry," she sobbed not wanting to hurt him. Nik should know how broken she was if they ever started anything and she had too many secrets about the war she had kept from him. Things he should know before he committed himself to her.
What happened next had her screaming in shock, the sound echoing throughout the house, as where Nik had been standing one minute a dark wolf stood in his place. It was impossible. They had been working for ages to break the curse. No one had come close to it, it wasn't even a bloody full moon when the curse was supposed to be broken. It shouldn't just spontaneously break after a thousand years of suffering.
The door to Nik's room slammed open and two enraged originals were glaring down at the wolf in front of her. A tensing of muscles was Alexinia's only warning before she threw a shield up stopping Rebekah from trying to tear of her brother's head. Knowing that Rebekah wasn't aware the wolf was Nik and not a threat to Alexinia.
"Stop Beks it's Nik, he turned."
"So it worked," Kol said at the same time Rebekah's, "it's impossible."
"I'd think so to Beks if I didn't witness it myself, and what do you mean it worked Kol? Did you do this?"
Kol smirked at her the familiar mischief sparking in his eyes, "with a little help. I was missing an ingredient to make it work, but it would be too easy just to tell you my dear. Let's just say it's the most ancient curse breaking magic in the world."
She growled at him not believing he wasn't going to tell them how he had bloody broken the curse. Alexinia had even consulted Bill about ways to break thousand year old curses and each method had ended in failure. Kol hadn't even been awake four days and he had broken it, but what had suddenly changed since he had woken up that he hadn't had in the last thousand years? Clearly he knew helping his brother break the curse would ensure Kol's freedom forever and his brother's eternal gratitude, so what had been holding him back?
"My dear it seems my brother's rubbing off on you already. Growling and he hasn't even been a wolf for an hour, my he works quickly."
"Kol!" Nik growled his voice gravely as he turned back. The transition smooth and unlike any werewolf transition Alexinia had ever seen. Whether they were bitten or born she had never seen such a quick and painless transformation. The only thing was now Nik was naked again and she had to avert her eyes to avoid the very pleasing sight she knew his body was.
"Nik you're finally free big brother, I guess we didn't need a doppelgänger," Rebekah joked her eyes wide with understanding as they flit between Alexinia and her brother. It seemed Rebekah was much more in tune with Kol's vagary and had picked up on the subtle clues to come to the right conclusion of how the curse had been broken.
"Will one of you tell me why I suddenly find myself free?!"
"Oh big brother it's obvious if you just think on it. Just ask yourself what do you have now that you didn't over the last thousand years. The most ancient of magics."
It seemed Rebekah agreed with Kol about keeping the actual way the curse had been broken from them. It made her want to strangle one of the siblings, but at the same time she wanted to attack Kol in gratitude. Nik was finally free to fully be himself. The original Hybrid and since the curse had been broken without use of the doppelgänger the clause that they needed her blood to turn others no longer mattered. Her Nik was no longer beholden to anyone.
Jen would no longer have to secretly worry if Elena would die during the ritual. The young woman could live her life without having to give monthly blood donations to vampires. Heck if Elena wanted she could get vampires out of her live permanently now. Alexinia was certain if Jen was the one to ask Nik would give her the wish since Elena had been willing to help him break the curse. Even if she was no longer necessary he would always respect and protect Elena for her willingness to help him. Despite the fact that that willingness came from wanting to protect her loved ones.
"Don't think this means you're off the case for our discussion love, it will just be postponed until I make sure the necessary people are aware of the curse breaking."
She just sighed knowing that though their talk was postponed it was inevitable. Unavoidable even unless if she ran like a coward; and Alexinia wasn't going to leave Nik now. After everything they had been through she owed him a chance to finish fighting his case with her. Just as he owed her the same courtesy to explain why she couldn't accept.
For now she would just be happy that Nik's curse was finally broken.
AN: Yes the curse is finally broken. What do you guys think is the ancient magic that broke it? I have had this planned for a while, it just took longer to put to paper then I thought. Please tell me what you think and share your thoughts on how you want the story to go in the future. Teddy will be showing up within the next couple chapters, and the mystery of Alexinia's guardians will be revealed at the same time. This is your last chance to guess who the two men are. I guarantee no one will figure out the older of the two, and if someone does I will dedicate the entire story to them. Until next time RisaliaDragneel!
