"Anyone found anything yet?" Hank asked, not bothering to look up from the book he was reading.
"No," chorused Rosalee and Wu, to no one's surprise. The three of them had been sat in the trailer almost all day now, and still they had found nothing connecting anything Wesen related to deals with Hell.
"Hey, does anyone-" Hank started to ask but he was cut off by Wu.
"Shhh!" Wu suddenly hushed, raising his hand. All three of them were silent as Wu stared at the door, his hand still raised slightly. Just as Rosalee was about to ask what was wrong, a rustling came from outside. Hardly seconds later, the door to the trailer flew open. An animalistic growl came from the doorway as a Hundjäger burst in and lurched towards Hank, arms outstretched. But, before he could even touch him, Rosalee woged, jumped up and clawed at his back. He whipped around, his attention fixed on her. She snarled at him and swiped at his face. In retaliation, he tried to grab her arm. But, before he could move, he found his arms pinned behind him. Not a second later, cuffs were clicked onto his wrists.
"Who else knows you're here?" Wu stepped around him to stand next to Rosalee as Hank held the man in place.
"No one, I swear!" the man pleaded, his face now completely human. The previous confidence apparently replaced with fear as he glanced around the trailer, eyes wide and legs shaking.
"Why are you here?" Rosalee asked, brushing the hair from her face as her features returned to human too.
"I'm was instructed to find the Grimm, Nick Burkhardt," the man almost whispered, seemingly unable to look Rosalee in the eye.
"What do you want with him?"
"I was told he may know the location of a powerful demon by the name of Dean Winchester,"
Wu glanced over his shoulder towards Hank and they gave each other a brief nod.
"You've got a lot of questions to answer," Wu said, pointing towards the door. Together, he and Hank secured the man into the car parked outside.
"You okay?" Hank asked Rosalee once they were all outside.
"Yeah," Rosalee smiled slightly "I'll get Monroe to come pick me up. And I'll try and tidy up a little,"
The two of them glanced back to the mess of books inside the trailer. Hank nodded before getting into the car and driving towards the Precinct. They drove mostly in silence, though both Hank and Wu could tell the man sat behind them was growing more nervous by the second. He clearly hadn't been planning on getting caught. Once they reached the Precinct, Wu pulled the man inside while Hank headed straight towards Renard's office.
"Sir?" Hank called out, knocking on the open door.
"Hank? Everything alright?" Renard asked, looking up from the papers at his desk.
"Could I have a word?" Hank asked, stepping into the office and closing the door behind him.
"Sure? Everything alright?" Renard started to stand up but Hank held up his hand to stop him.
"You're probably going to want to sit down for this, sir," Hank admitted as Renard lowered himself back down into his chair.
"Does this have something to do with the phone call I got from Nick earlier?" Renard crossed his arms in front of his chest.
"Probably," Hank admitted. He took a deep breath and began to explain everything he knew, just like he had for Wu. But hardly 2 minutes in, Renard held up his hand to signal him to stop.
"I know," he said simply.
"What do you mean you know?" Hank asked, frowning.
"Heaven, Hell, demons, angels, even the infamous Winchester hunters. I know it all,"
"How do you know all of this? And why did you never tell us?" Hank questioned, more confused than angry.
"I know about a lot of things to do with this world, and the next," Renard smiled to himself "and in any case, you and Nick had enough on your minds with the world of the Grimms,"
"Well, I guess that's gonna save us a lot of time now," Hank shrugged. He updated Renard on the most recent details and explained that they had brought in the man who attacked them.
"He could have valuable information about what the Verrat is planning," Renard said, standing. Hank nodded in agreement and together they headed towards the interrigation room. Wu was standing outside waiting for them. Without needing to exchange words, Hank and Wu entered the room while Renard went behind the other side of the one-way glass.
"I'll tell you everything! I swear it! Please, just don't kill me," the man begged as soon as Hank and Wu stepped into the room.
"We're not going to hurt you, as long as you co-operate with us," Wu said, crossing his arms in front of his chest.
"First off, start with why you were looking for Dean Winchester," Hank leaned against the wall, looking over at the Hundjäger in front of them.
"My boss wants him, though I'm not entirely sure what for. But he's convinced the demon can save his life," the man explained, looking down at his hands.
"Interesting. You don't seem like the usual thug-type that end up in this room. Why did he send you after Nick and Dean?"
"Well... I'm kinda one of the few of us that are left. The boss is running a fairly brutal opperation. He gives you a week to find the demon. If you fail, you die. Then the next person takes up the search,"
"I guess that explains the Verrat bodies we've found," Wu nodded towards Hank.
"How did your boss know there was a connection between Nick and Dean?" Hank raised an eyebrow.
"He didn't," the man admitted "he's just running on wild guesses by this point. He knows that Nick is a Grimm and has had run in's with the Winchesters before. That's all he was going on,"
Hank and Wu glanced at each other briefly and, through a completely silent communication, they agreed he was telling the truth. Wu continued to question him for as much information as possible while Hank left the room to join Renard.
"What should we do now?" Hank asked as he closed the door behind him.
"We need to tell Nick," Renard stated, not looking away from the man on the other side of the glass. So, Hank pulled out his phone and dialed Nick's number. Much to Hank's surprise, Nick answered almost instantly.
"Hey Hank, how's everything going?" Nick asked.
"Interesting is probably one word for it," Hank sighed, shaking his head.
"What's happened?" Nick asked, instantly hearing the uncertainty in Hank's voice. So, Hank told him everything about the attack at the trailer and the Verrat plot to go after Dean Winchester.
"Well, thanks to Renard, I think I might know who this guy's boss is," Nick said and explained to Hank about the 'Gustavo' royal they had been researching.
"That ties everything together, I suppose," Hank said once Nick was finished.
"So, what do we do now?" Nick sighed, unsure as to where this was all going to lead.
"I think I might have an idea on that part," Hank heard the voice of Sam Winchester down the phone.
"Oh, hey Sam. What have you got in mind?"
"Crowley said he was going to collect souls in Vienna right? Well, with any luck, he might be going after our guy," Sam said to both Hank and Nick.
"I think I can see where this is going," Nick nodded, realising what Sam was planning.
"Me too. I'll go tell the rest of the guys. Call me if anything comes up,"
"Will do,"
And, with that, Hank and Nick hung up.
Crowley was really starting to hate how frequently the Winchester's summond him. Didn't they know he was in the middle of something important here? Sighing to himself, he brushed down his suit. A second later, he found himself in the Men of Letter's bunker with the Winchester brothers stood in front of him.
"What can I do for you boys now?" Crowley half-heartedly smiled.
"We need to ask you about those souls you're collecting in Vienna," Dean said, stepping forward.
"What about them? I was almost finished with that actually before you interrupted me; I've only got one soul left on my list," Crowley said and, much to his surprise, both the Winchester's started to smile.
"Then, we're gonna need to ask for a favour,"
