Chapter 31

Another one of those dreams is happening again. That's right… a murder dream is going on. I hate these things so much, I wish they'd just go away.

The same things happen in the beginning like the previous dreams. I walk down a seemingly never ending street for god knows how long.

After a little bit of walking, I hear my name being called over and over again by a disembodied voice that mimics someone I know slightly. Once I run a little bit more I get paralyzed and blinded by an unknown person.

This time however I'm drug to the area where I don't even know.

My eyes are able to receive the images before me now. To say I feel sick would be an understatement. What I see before me are the friends I hold dear. And to even more surprise, this time they're not dead. Instead… they're on their hands and knees by some otherworldly power forcing them to do so.

It's sick and appalling to look at. The overall aura of the place makes me almost want to vomit in my sleep. Whoever would do such a thing to the people I care about has a special place in hell just for them.

"Come on Jacky boy! You should know better than to steal someone else's property!"

"What… the hell… do you mean?"

It's too early to tell if this guy is another Jack like in the previous dreams. The cloak he's wearing covers his whole face. And what does he mean by property?

The cloaked man begins to laugh furiously at something. Whatever it is I don't want to know. I'm scared to death as it is.

*Swoosh!*

His cloak falls off of him completely. Underneath the cloak the whole time was… Andrew. What's he got to do with this?

"You see, I wanna keep these powers I have. In order to do that, I've gotta take care of something for someone." Even in dreams his grammar is repulsive…

"So… let's start with this!"

Waving his hand up, a purple aura comes out of it. Suddenly my body is covered in a glow that's the same as his hand. My arms push myself up without me telling them too. Oh god… he's treating me like a marionette minus the strings.

"Let's have some fun!"

With another wave of his hand my right palm opens up. Materializing out of nowhere, a metal stake appears in my hand. No… this is one of the stakes used in the first dream.

"No…"

Nepgear rises up from the ground and is being animated like I am. My right foot takes one steps forward. After that my left foot takes another slow step. My feet continue moving on their own volition.

All Nepgear does is stand there with eyes too shocked in horror to notice what I'm about to be forced to do.

"No…"

The gap between us closes enough to where she's in striking distance. This power… it's not of this world. Whatever it is… it's demonic in nature.

I don't want this anymore, I just want to wake up and have this dream end! Whatever I try to do I can't get myself to wake up.

"Oh don't worry Jacky-poo… she'll forgive you when her soul is in hell!" This isn't the Andrew I know either. Andrew in the real world is a complete idiot and couldn't bring himself to do something like this no matter how much he says he would.

*Snap!* His fingers snap loudly.

"No…"

My right hand raises to the sky, and in one fell swoop it goes down with the stake still in it.

*Squish!* The stake goes right through her neck. This… this is horrifying! I don't want to stay here any longer. I want to wake up now!

My controlled hand pulls the stake out, and Nepgear's corpse falls to the ground. I'm forced to turn to a new target. This time it's Martin who will get stabbed to death.

"NO!"

"Ah! Haa… haa… haa…" I shoot up from my slumber and sit straight up from my pillow.

Phew… it was only a dream. The scary part though was how realistic it felt when I was in the dreamscape. Luckily I'm out of there now, and probably won't be going back to sleep for the rest of the night.

Plopping back down to my pillow, I feel dampness to my pillow case and my forehead. This is the first time I've ever sweat while I slept. I'm starting to not like sleep anymore if it means I could have that dream again.

Nepgear's face pops into my mind. Not the dead Nepgear that dream Jack killed, the one who's happy, healthy, and most of all, my girlfriend.

Just thinking about her starts to relax me a little bit. A cooling sensation comes over my whole body as if I just drank a glass of really cold milk. I can even feel myself smiling slightly.

Thinking back now, it's just a dream. The mind will make new dreams out of the blue to scare us sometime. If it wants to try to scare me, then my mind obviously forgot that I have the greatest remedy on earth.

"I'll see you soon Nepgear…"

With that, my eyes close and I drift back to sleep for an attempt to get some actual rest tonight.

To my surprise I actually got a good amount of sleep after that crazy dream. I'm still tired though, just as I am ever morning when I'm about to go to school.

I slip on my shoes and grab my Magic deck as I leave my room from atop my dresser. Walking down the short hallway and into the living room, Maurice is waiting for me. Again, he's got that grin on his face.

"The dog comes out of his kennel."

Again calling me a dog? I kissed one girl and he happens to see it. Hell, even Neptune saw it. I know from the amount of death threat texts I received from her when I woke up this morning.

And there's no doubt that she's going to spill the beans to our little circle of friends. This is going to be a very, very fun day.

Groaning at Maurice a little, we start heading out the door to his car. Outside, Neptune and Nepgear are waiting for us already since they ride to school with me.

As soon as I look at Nepgear I immediately begin to blush. She blushes just shortly after mine becomes present. It's clear now that neither of us are still fully over the moment we shared yesterday evening.

"Well if it isn't my favorite friend Jack."

Why did I get a really bad feeling when Neptune said that? It's also clear that she isn't over it as well. After all, I could "defile" her kid sister.

"Um, sis… could we… maybe leave for school already?"

Neptune nods as cheerfully as she would've any other day. It's just today she has a "I'm going to kill you Jack look about her."

"Alright kiddies, let's go."

Maurice beckons us to come to his car. As I walk past him, he gives me a small wink. Not caring anymore, I take the backseat with Nepgear right next to me.

"Good Morning… Nepgear."

"Yes… Good morning as well…"

Both our cheeks are still flustered red, the sensation that goes along with that isn't something I'll ever get used to either.

"I'm glad to see you again." Nepgear smiles at me and says that completely random sentence.

"I'm… glad to see you too." Smiling back at her, I see it in her eyes that she's wanted to see me since last night. She's more brave than I'm being right now, I'll have to change that eventually.

The three of us exit my brothers car once we reach school. The ride today didn't take very long today. Being in Nepgear's company and enjoying it with minimal awkward feelings today made the ride go a whole lot faster.

Holding out my right hand to Nepgear earns me a confusing look.

"Shall we…?" If she can be nervously brave then so can I.

She nods and smiles back with the smile I adore more than any material possession. Our hands meet and naturally our fingers interlock together. Blush comes to both our faces as it always does, but I'm sure it'll go away eventually.

Looking a little ways down the courtyard I can make out the rest of our circle. Martin's even returned for a double dose of the chaos.

We take smaller steps than we usually would to get to our friends. This time we don't want things to fly by too fast. I want to savor the moments we have together. She's the one who taught me how to truly smile after all.

Finally reaching the rest of the group, we're greeted by all their smiling faces. Minus Blanc because she is reading a book quietly to herself.

"Good morning, I hope both of you have slept well." Vert is the first to greet us today. And me plus sleeping well don't go together today.

"I had someone special to think of last night." Nepgear blushes even more but looks at me while doing it to emphasize how good she feels about me.

I'm powerless to know that she views me as special actually. Again, something I'm going to have to get used to.

Everyone bursts out into laughter just thinking about it. But I don't mind at all. I'm holding the hand of the only non-related person to love me in that way. I can take the heat from the rest of them.

"Having someone special is overrated. I don't… feel lonely at night… and I don't have someone like that."

"Sure ya do. And the sky is red!" Ram yells out a t Noire's attempt to look tough and hide her true feelings.

"Pardon me, but shouldn't we be getting to class?"

Martin speaks up from the remaining laughter. He's right, there's not a lot of time left before class starts.

Nepgear and I separate due to the schools PDA rule. Don't want to get suspended now do I?

Searching my laptop during fourth hour has its advantages. One being that since fourth hour is longer, once you get done with all the class work you're free to do what you want. As well as none of my other friends except Vert and Martin are completed for the day.

"Greeting Jack, might I ask what you are doing?" Martin is extremely well mannered for some reason. He needs to loosen up a bit if you ask me.

"Just playing a game called Four Goddesses Online. Vert had me play it one night and ever since then I've been hooked."

The game itself is really addicting when you have friends to explore dungeons with. People make the experience all the more fun to enjoy.

"I've brought my laptop today. Perhaps I could join you?"

"I would like to join you as well." Vert pops up out of nowhere. People really need to stop doing that to me. It's become very frequent as of late.

"I have no objections. The more the merrier they say."

Martin reaches into his backpack and pulls out his laptop. It's a pretty nice piece of machinery on the outside. I can only imagine how it performs.

Vert does the same and pulls out a laptop of her own. Again, it looks very well made from the outside and probably runs very smoothly when it's turned on.

All of us sit in a corner of the room now with our computers turned on and logging in to our accounts for some good old fashion RPG time. Well first Martin has to create an account, but that should be over soon.

I can't wait to see what adventure comes this time.

A/N: I was able to get a chapter done early this time. If the Murder dreams don't suit you yet, they are a key essential to the story once momentum picks up.

Though I may sound weird again, I feel as if I don't describe things in enough detail or I just rush things. If you think so too, leave a review or PM me. If you think I'm doing fine, then you know what to do.

Until then, see you in the next update.
