Tamaki stared dreamily off into space. It played well into his princely persona. He had started to drift off into his imaginary world as Hikaru and Karou were unveiling a whole array of ballroom costumes that they were suggesting for the next event. As always they had several feminine costumes for Haruhi as options along with the usual masculine disguise she would wear.

And as always this spurred Tamaki's imagination. He envisioned Haruhi surrounded by sparkles and dressed in an elegant blue gown. Her hands gripped the full skirt and she glanced up at him before looking away demurely. "Will you teach me how to dance?" She said softly.

"Of course I will, Haruhi!" He shouted out loud, hand over his heart and tears in his eyes.

The discussion ground to a halt. Haruhi closed her eyes and massages her temples. "Tamaki-senpai, I don't even want to know what you were thinking," she said through gritted teeth. "But there's no way I'm wearing any of those outfits." The gowns the twins had chosen were all very elaborate, with ruffles and full skirts that would hamper the most skilled dancer at least a little. Haruhi had little patience for impracticability.

The girl grabbed the suit that was tailored to her size instead, ignoring Tamaki's sulking.

Kyoya chose this moment to interrupt. "As fascinating as all of this is," he said, idly making notes in the compact pad of paper he usually carried on his person, "We really should finish setting up before our guests begin to arrive."

The host club worked quickly to set up the last finishing touches on their tables. It was a practiced routine. Soon the boys were all relaxing once again while Haruhi started preparing tea. She would have done so anyway, but Kyoya had asked her to do so in that disturbing and deceptively lighthearted way. She had't needed him to remind her of all her debt that she was paying off through work at the club.

Minako Kitasaki was lost.

Her first day was finally over. So far no one had batted an eye about a student transferring in the middle of the year.

The first half of the day had been spent finalizing paperwork, so there would still be more introductions and classroom searching tomorrow.

The school was beautiful, she had to admit as she admiring the pillars and windows that lined the hallway. She pulled herself away from the view outside the window of a fountain surrounded by purple flowers.

She had been looking for the music room. Her advisor was going to tell her more about the clubs tomorrow, but ever since Minako learned the Ouran had many different clubs she had been itching to check them out. She hadn't wanted to be rude in her impatience, so she was looking for herself.

She smiled as she rounded the corner to see the music room. What kinds of rich sounding instruments did they have here at this school, she wondered eagerly. She pushed open the door softly.

The room had no instruments. It certainly wasn't empty, it was tastefully decorated and there were groups of tables and chairs all around the room. She saw several boys in the room and turned to leave quickly, worried she may have stumbled upon an event of some sort.

Minako came to a halt as she ran into someone in her attempt to turn. He was tall, blond, and he was gazing at her in adoration with the most beautiful violet eyes she had ever seen.

"I see we have a new visitor," he said softly. "No matter what you are looking for, we are here to fulfill your desires."

Minako's eyes widened and she paused, trying to think of the most diplomatic way of getting out of…whatever this situation was.

Her moment of silence seemed to be taken as encouragement. "Perhaps you are interested in the Cool Type," he continued, gesturing towards a dark hair boy with glinting eyeglasses.

Minako still didn't respond. She had glimpsed a familiar looking figure out of the corner of her eye. She craned her head, letting the boy guide her further into the room. There was something about that silhouette… She blocked out the other chatter as she concentrated, a dim hope growing within her. When the figure turned, revealing those large brown eyes Minako knew for certain.

The King of the host club always delighted in every moment he was able to spend with the lovely laddies that visited them. So when a new dark haired beauty graced their doorway he was in his element.

"Or perhaps," Tamaki continued, tilting up the girl's chin with the lightest of caresses, "you prefer…". The girl deftly stepped outside his reach, moving swiftly across the room. Tamaki was left with his fingers dangling in empty air. It was quickly apparent that the girl was heading straight to Haruhi.

The girl flew into Haruhi, hugging the newest member of the host club tightly. "Haruhi-chan!"

Thank you for reading! This is my idea for a Drabble series that introduces a close female friend to Haruhi. ( in my research I've seen that it happened in the manga, but I've only seen the anime...) The first 2 chapters will get us started, and then it will be more prompt based individual scenes.

Please let me know your thoughts, reviews brighten my day!
