Right guys... this is the last chapter.
So, before I go, I wanted thank you guys above and beyond, for reading, for reviewing, for criticizing, for making me better at this writing thing which I kinda don't have a grasp on. I have simply loved every single one of you guys. You guys rock. May the world give you batcaves and personal stories which everyone ELSE writes fanfiction on.
And most of all, I'd love to thank June. She's been a constant in my life. She's a beautiful little person, and she's all yellow with happiness. Sirius isn't mine to begin with, but I'd like to thank him and all his friends. This story has almost been an obsession for me.
Obviously, I have special mentions. Mrs Cinammon, I know you're reading this. We became friends through this, and FYI, she's amazing. Like, actual amazing.
Second, how can I forget the lovely character of Annie, the queen of England? The ones who have read my boring Author's Notes would know that she is based on none other than the fiery character of OmenProphecy, who's like, the funniest person in existence (seriously, read her reviews). I fear I have really offended her by not updating for ages. Anyhow. You're amazing, Annie. You have a whole character after you.
And all of you others, YUNelenna, ThetaMcBride, TylerMaria, VERA VIV, UnrulyDreamer, Mrs Theodore Nott, and seriously, just all of you. Even the random guest named Ali. You rock, Ali.
It's been a pleasure working with you people. I actually have a sequel thought out. I might post it. And then I shall add a chapter informing you guys.
The summer before seventh year was approaching, and June Leto had subsided into her sadness again. This was not her usual sadness, though. She was sad because she wouldn't be seeing any of her friends for a month and because Sirius was leaving.
Sirius had informed her that he would write to her as often as possible, and that he really was in no mood of leaving her alone after everything that had happened in the sixth year, but June had smiled and told him that he really must go with the Potters when they visited France.
In truth, shemissed his company the most. He was her sole confidant, that boy who had all the capacity to annoy her, and still she cared for him besides that. He was going for a month and a half and June was staying at Hogwarts by herself for one of the three months of vacation. After which, she planned to go to Lily's for a bit – her sister Petunia was getting married and all.
They had parted ways at the Hogsmede train station. She had given Lily a tight hug and said goodbye to her.
"Take care of yourself, June," Lily had told her once she pulled away.
June nodded in affirmative, and smiled reassuringly.
James had given her a hug too, and said with a cheeky grin, "It's almost good that you're staying at Hogwarts for sometime. It will be hilarious to see Sirius without you."
June slapped his arm in reproach and grinned at him, "He's not going to be a fish without water," she said.
"I can assure you, June, he will be worse than a fish without water," said James solemnly.
June laughed and pushed him away, and James grinned at her. He jumped up on the train, and helped Lily up.
There was a tap on her back, and she turned to find Marlene, Mary, Remus and Peter. She smiled at all of them, and gave each of them a hug.
"Go make Sirius miserable, June," said Marlene with a wink.
Mary rolled her eyes and hugged June, saying as she did so, "Don't take Marlene seriously."
June laughed and said no, there was no possibility of that ever happening.
Remus had said that he would write to her, and Peter had said nothing much to her, only saying goodbye in the most civil tone manageable.
"Ahem," came a voice from behind.
June turned, and saw Sirius, looking very annoyed.
"What?" she asked.
"Promise me you won't get into more trouble," he growled.
"What are you?" she said laughingly, "My father?"
At the mention of her father, his snarl became worse. But he said nothing on the topic, really. "I happen to be your boyfriend," he said.
"I promise," June said with a smile.
Sirius had enveloped her in a hug, and June had felt happy again, in the tall boy's arms. The other girls passed her jealous looks, but she cared little.
"Take care, okay?" he said.
June nodded.
He brushed her nose then, - just a small pat – as if to remove some dirt, and he kissed her after. This was typical of him: brushing her nose as if she was a little girl.
June kissed him back, her arms winding around his neck as his went around her waist.
There was a barrage of cat calling from the train. James was whistling unashamedly, with Lily, Marlene and Mary giggling. Remus was trying to get James to come back inside – Peter wasn't helping Remus' case – he was clapping.
June and Sirius laughed. How did it matter what those idiots thought? When they were in the same position, June would laugh without remorse.
"You remember how to kiss?" he asked her.
June stepped away from his hands, and began with a smile,
"You open the arms."
She pushed Sirius' arms away.
"You l-lean in."
She stood on tip toes, and Sirius breathed "But you can't lean, you're far too short."
June ignored that and continued, "You come closer," and she could feel his lips, so close.
"You two lovebirds better hurry!" called James. The platform was almost empty.
"And then," she kissed him.
And again, as every time it happened, Sirius was surprised by how lethal kisses could be.
"Oye! Sirius!" Remus yelled.
Sirius had to cut it short. He ran across the platform and jumped on the moving train. He waved at her from the door, and June waved back.
"Take care of yourself," he yelled, "Do it for me, if not for yourself!"
"I will!" June called back.
"And Leto!" yelled Sirius. "I love you!"
June laughed. "Took you long enough!" she called back at him. "I love you too!"
Everyone else was also yelling their goodbyes, and June kept waving. She tilted her head to the right, unhappy and happy at the same time.
And the Hogwarts express streamed through the countryside, its red coat gleaming. The words on the engine glimmered in the bright sunlight, to be seen by people miles and miles away. The weather was a brilliant combination of breezy winds with summer smell. June's hair whipped in the wind and she could make out Sirius' hair whipping as well, as he watched her quickly disappearing form.
June smiled and looked back at Hogwarts. There was a little bit of heaven all for herself right now.
That's all you guys. A little bit of heaven for all of you, from June and onwards.
There will probably be a sequel. Watch out for more, kay? Take care of yourselves for me, and be happy :)
Lots of love,
Ridiculosity, signing out.
