Death was a rush of emotions for me. At first I was scared of the afterlife but after a few minutes of thinking I realized that I was being selfish. I should be happy! Kirito finally could live his life and beat the game without me getting in his way. I opened my eyes and saw this blinding bright light all around me. I tried to get to my feet but something was holding me down, like the air itself was keeping me on the ground. So, I just lied there, letting the thoughts run through my head. About five boring minutes later I heard a grunting noise about a yard to my left. I said hello to the noise, hoping beyond hope that it was another human. After a minute of silence I had almost given up when Keita's voice rang out.
"Sachi?!"
In that moment my heart broke in two. "Keita, why are you dead?" It took all of my willpower to keep from crying.
There was a momentary pause before he replied. "I'm sorry." His voice was so soft I could just barely make out the words. "I'm sorry Sachi, I killed myself." The fears I had been dreading ever since I heard his voice were confirmed.
"Why." My voice was as pathetic as his but he certainly got the message.
"There wasn't a reason to anymore, you guys were dead." His voice remains somber.
"But… your fam." I started to answer but he interrupted me.
"I don't care about my family!"
From that yell I could tell he wasn't in the mood to talk about his suicide. I struggled to try to find a new topic of conversation but was saved the trouble when another voice started talking.
"As amusing as you two are I have to interrupt you."
Keita and I were stunned speechless by the seemingly bodiless voice.
"Not gonna say hello?" The voice asked us in a joking tone. "Eh, I get it. It's not everyday you hear the air talking to you, is it?" He asks us before giving us a chance to respond to his previous question.
Keita and I remained dumbfounded. Looking Back on it now, I think our faces looked pretty stupid.
The tone of the light's voice becomes a little impatient. "If you're not gonna say anything but I think I'll just get to the point. I saw how hard you fought for your lives and I thought you and your guild deserve a second chance."
Keita and I remained silent but tears started streaming down my face.
"There are a few complications though. I don't want you guys to get thrown back into that world, so I'm gonna put you to sleep and i'll wake you up when that game is destroyed."
Keita finally gained his courage to speak. "Th-th-thank you." He stammered out as tears also began to well up in his eyes as well.
"Your welcome. Now, Sleep."
When the light told us to sleep we both immediately passed out.
