Gohan spent the rest of the night outdoors, in Satan City since he has to meet Videl there anyway.

Waiting in front of the gates at the time Videl told him Gohan, was able to find the high school, after asking around.

The half saiyan sees the teen, running towards him, and with her , two blondes behind her, one with long hair, and one with short hair.

"Gohan. Glad you came, you ready?" Videl asks.

"Hold on Videl, this guy can't be the one you said, look at him he looks so weak."

"Oh lay off Sharpener." said the blonde girl. "Besides, he's kinda cute, right Videl?"

"Quit it, we're only training."

"Whatever you say."

"Videl, you can't be serious. Come on, leave this dork and come train with me instead."

"Give it up Sharpener. You say you're strong but last time I checked I can easily take you down in seconds. Let's go already Gohan, I'll see ya Erasa."

As they both walked together, Gohan asks Videl.

"That guy… is he…"

"No, not even."

"Oh good, I was starting to feel guilty." Gohan sighs.

"Sharpener, he's… Well… I don't know if nice guy is his term. He's not nice or bad either. He's more-"

"Arrogant, a show off." Gohan puts the words.

"He's only hitting on me because I'm Hercule Satan's daughter. Basically every guy who wants to inherit my dad's empire."

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that."

"Anyway I don't know why they even bother, it's not like I'm the only rich girl in the world, I mean why don't they hit on the Briefs? Last time I checked, Capsule Corp makes more money than we do."

Gohan snickers as the thought of Vegeta scaring away the competition to protect Bulma.

"What's so funny?"

"Oh nothing it just sounds like you have your hands full."

"I do. What about you?"

"Me?"

"Tell me about your family."

"My family… Well my dad's not here with us anymore."

"Oh right, that was during..."

"Yeah, with Cell."

"I'm sorry Gohan, I didn't mean to bring it up."

"No, don't worry. Trust me, my dad's in a better place now."

"But Gohan you don't get it. After that whole Cell thing I felt guilty having my dad take all the glory from you."

"It's fine Videl. I already said I'm not in it for the glory. "

"Anyway, what about the rest of your family? Your mom and your sister?"

"Oh… about that, I have to tell you..." Gohan had to confess, but the words Chichi said yesterday still got to him, and now she's kicked him out of the house like he did with his father. She won't even let him see his children.

"What do you have to tell me Gohan?" Videl waited for his answer.

"I… My little sister wanted to thank you for choosing her present the other day. She really loved it, I think we got her into a new hobby."

"Oh, well in that case tell her it's my pleasure."

Gohan, still pissed at his mother thought this would be the perfect way to get even. If Chichi is going to treat him like shit, he might as well take this time to enjoy the company of another woman.

"Anyway Videl, let's start your first lesson."

.

Back at the Son residence, Chichi kept looking back at the clock seeing that it was starting to get late and Gohan hasn't come back yet.

"Where is he?" She asks herself. "He should be back right now. There's no way he could survive out there on his own."

"Chichi then remembered the first time Gohan had been gone. Piccolo kidnapped him, and she recalled how she felt so worried that she'd never see him again.

"Mother… Where did father go?' Karo interrupts his mother's thoughts.

Chichi scowls, "Your father decided to go out for a while Karo."

"When will he come back?"

"He'll come back when he realizes he's nothing without us."

"Oh…"

Hana walks into the room. "Karo, would you like to play with my toys?"

Chichi takes Karo's hand.

"It's time for bed." The woman takes her youngest child to his room.

"But Mommy it's still early."

"I said it's time for bed, Hana!" Chichi repeats herself.

"Okay…" Hana surrenders.

"And for crying out loud, put that toy away, it's annoying."

Hana looked at her windup toy and wondered where his father could've gone. Goten walks by,

"Hana, are you okay?"

"Goten…" Hana tears up.

The oldest one hugs his little sister, "It's okay, Dad will come back, just don't make Mom angry."

"I'm trying.. I really am…"

"You two! What did I just say?!"

" Mom..."

"Why is she crying?!"

"I miss Daddy…" Hana squeaked.

"Oh you miss Daddy huh?! Daddy's not here to protect you now is he?!"

"Mom, she's sad." Goten defends her.

"And how do you think I feel Goten!"

"Uh…"

"Uuugh! Goten… What a dumb name. It fits him alright, along with that stupid hair." Chichi mumbled to herself. "You know what, if you both are not going to listen then I'll just have to drag you both by the ears!" Chichi pinches both lobes and pulls them to their rooms.

"Ouch!" Goten screamed.

Hana couldn't get a word out account from her sobbing.

"C'mere you little brats!" Chichi throws Goten into his room and pulls the door behind him. As she pulls Hana to her room, she leaned forwards to be face to face with her,

"Listen you little… Your father left because of you, and when he comes back you better stay away from him. Got it!"

Hana suppresses her screams.

"Do you understand?!" Chichi shakes her.

The small girl nods her head.

"Good, now get inside!" she pushes her.

Looking through through his door, Kai watched everything that happened. He then closes the door before his mother realized he had been eavesdropping again.

Meanwhile...

"Not bad for your first time." Gohan tells Videl.

"Are you kidding I didn't even get off the ground."

"It takes time don't worry. You did manage to harness your Ki."

"I did feel something swirling inside me."

"Great, let's try again."

"Actually Gohan, I have to get going, my dad's probably wondering where I am."

"Oh, right, it is getting late huh."

"Besides, won't your mom get worried, you are far from home."

"AH, you're right I better go. Before I head off, let me just walk you home first."

"No, it's alright. I don't want to make you even more late."

"Okay then, I'll see you tomorrow?"

"It's a date."

"Date?"

Videl laughs, "It's just a saying."

"Oh… right, silly me… heh…"

As Videl left Gohan had to find another place to sleep for the night.

.

Chichi's eyes fluttered open. She smiled as she stretches her hand to wrap around her lover, but as she did, there was no trace of the half saiyan whatsoever.

"Gohan?" She calls out. He should've been back by now, she thought. The woman turns to see that he wasn't there, and by the coldness of his spot on the bed, he either got up very early or he didn't even come back at all.

"It can't be…" she says. "He can't be gone that long!"

Ripping the sheets off, she storms out of her room to check Hana's bedroom.

"That little flirt, if I catch him in her bed I swear I'll-" Chichi abruptly opens the door but no Gohan in sight, just Hana sleeping under the covers halfway up her face.

"Hmph!"

Closing it shut, she goes over to what used to be Gohan's room. Opening the door, she sees Goten who is also still sleeping. Hoping he could find him in the twin's room Chichi almost runs to the last door. With no warning she opens the door, and sees the twins already awake.

"Mom?" Rai noticed how his mother looks strange. "Are you okay?"

"Where is your dad?!"

"You said he was gone." Rai tells her.

Chichi started to tremble, "It can't be!" she kept repeating herself.

.

Meanwhile, Gohan wandered around Satan City as he waits for Videl to get out of school today.

"Now that I have all this free time what do I do?" He ponders.

Hearing loud sirens blasting through the neighborhood, Gohan follows the police to see what occurred. Flying with the patrol cars, the saiyan got closer, he caught a whiff of smoke.

"Something's on fire!" He panics.

Coming to a full view of smoke Gohan sees a large tall building being engulfed by flames.

"Holy…" he mutters to himself. "I have to do something!"

Gohan tries to look for any source of water he can use, but all the hydrants are all being used, and the flames weren't getting smaller. There were a lot of screaming in the crowd, and some were pointing upwards at the burning building.

"Help! Help me!"

Gohan looked up and saw children about the same age as Goten or Hana crying for help.

"No… I have to save them." As Gohan flew, everyone was awed by the half saiyan's flight. When Gohan reached the floor where he saw the two children, he looked down to see he's about over twenty stories high.

"Please… help us, '' said one of the children.

"I will, Just hang in there."

"Please hurry!"

'I can only carry one… how do I-"

At that moment, A door was knocked down and Videl appeared.

"Videl?! What are you doing here?"

"I'm trying to save these kids! What are you waiting for? Grab one of them and I'll take the other!"

"No, wait! If I leave you here there's a chance you won't survive!"

"Then what do we do?1 I don't think you can carry all three of us!" Videl panicked. Gohan had to think quickly. He then spotted a blanket that hasn't been touched by the flames yet.

"Videl, grab that blanket! We'll put the kids in there and I can hold them."

"What about me?! I won't be able to fit!"

"You'll climb on my back, now let's go before the fire gets out of control!"

After tying some parts of the blanket to resemble a sort of hammock, Gohan and Videl help the kids settle in. Gohan lowered his back so he can carry Videl with no problem.

"Okay, here we go!" Gohan launches off as he flew away from the crumbling apartment. He had to do this carefully so he won't harm the children.

"It's alright, we're heading down. Videl how are you doing?"

"I'm doing great!"

Seeing the fire from the bottom is already put out, they finally reached the bottom, the children's mother runs towards them.

"Oh my goodness thank you!" She hugged her children.

"Don't thank me yet, there's still the fire we need to put out." Gohan looks up.

"But how? The firefighters can't reach that high?" Videl tries to think.

"Wait a minute, I read some things about architecture. There's a water tank above all tall buildings right?"

"You're right, if we puncture the tank then-"

"It'll put out most of the fire at the top. I'll take care of it." Gohan aims for the top of the apartment building.

"Good luck Gohan!" She yells.

It was hard maneuvering through the black smoke, it was burning the half saiyan's eyes. He had to keep moving, all he had to do was keep flying up and he should be in the clear. Smelling less smoke, he sees the water tank of the building.

"There you are!" he blasts his Ki against the metal tank, blowing a hole on both sides. The water shot out of the tank and started running down the building.

"That should do it."

Everyone cheered as the water engulfed all of the flames.

"He did it!" some yelled,

"He saved us!"

"Who is he?!"

"He's a hero, just like Mr. Satan!"

.

After wiping off the ash and soot from his clothes, Gohan noticed there have been some holes that the fire burned through.

"That was crazy Gohan!" Videl couldn't contain herself.

"I know… Say what were you doing in that building, didn't you have school?"

"I am the town's hero. It's my job to save lives."

"I didn't actually."

"Oh right, I forgot you don't live here. Well I can skip out on a class if there's trouble. Hey wait a minute, what were you doing here? You came a little too early for my training didn't you?"

"Oh uhh…" Gohan didn't have an excuse to give her."

Videl inspects him closer, "Yeah, you even have the same clothes from yesterday. There's some stains from our training. Did you even go home last night?"

"I love these clothes." Gohan tells her."

"Gohan, what's going on? Your mom's probably worried sick."

"I… I was kicked out of the house actually…" Gohan confessed.

"Your mom kicked you out, but why?"

"Because of what happened at Hana's birthday. I came too late and…"

"That wasn't your fault Gohan, things just happened, how were you supposed to know there would be a robbery?"

"She doesn't understand."

"Where have you been spending the last two nights?"

Sleeping on rooftops, camping out in the wild, wherever I can find."

"You don't have any friends family?"

"I do, but I hadn't seen them in a long time." Gohan could have done that, but then he would have to explain what happened the last seven years.

Videl sighs, "I wish you would've told me last night. You can stay over at my place for a while."

"There's no need."

"Not another word, you're living with me."

"Videl."

"What is it?"

"Your hair."

"My hair?" Videl runs her fingers through one of her pigtails. A clump of hair flew away. "Oh no… That fire..."

"I'm very sorry."

"It's fine, it'll grow back."

"If it helps, I think you look great with short hair too."

"Well... thank you…"
