Domination: Volume Four
Episode One: No More Games
Featuring the Ninth Doctor, Rose Tyler and Lauren Dunbar
Earth, 1974.
Dennis Walsh slowly climbed down the ladder and into the cave. He had always enjoyed caves and what was inside them. He had read stories of archaeologists exploring caves and finding hidden treasure. That was what interested him. Buried treasure, secrets of the long past that had been covered up so long ago. His father had taken him exploring within his local caves when Dennis had been a small child.
Dennis heard a harsh screeching sound and then a wail, like the death cry of an animal in pain. He turned towards where he had heard the sound and hurried down the small passageway, eventually noticing the corpse of the large green dinosaur. Both of its eyes were still open, showing that it was still partially alive. He stroked its head as it died in front of him.
Once he was certain that the creature was dead, he headed back to the ladder, only to see three humanoid creatures, holding silver cannisters of some sort. They had purple skin and scuttled about on four pincer-like legs. They still had a human-like upper torso and head: it was only their lower body that was vastly different.
"Capture the human!" their leader cried, in a voice that sounded harsh and hissing, like a reptile. Once the leader had spoken, they hurled the cannisters at Dennis. Every cannister attached to his skin and made him feel drowsy and tired. He eventually collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
The Doctor, Rose and Lauren sat on a bench, overlooking a small village from the top of a large cliff. They had decided to rest after what had happened recently and the Doctor had found a charming village to stop off at. He had parked the TARDIS in the forest nearby and he, Rose and Lauren had sat down on the bench.
"This is nice." Lauren remarked, "Very calm after the alternate universe where the Black Guardian ruled reality."
"Still haven't checked to see if Mum's alive in this new universe." Rose said, thinking, "I hope she is."
"She probably is." the Doctor said, placing a hand on her shoulder, "But I didn't actually bring us here to have a rest."
Rose and Lauren both shared a look of disappointment and fear.
"Then why did you bring us here?" Lauren asked him.
"Because a part of the fallout from the timeline change has come to Earth."
He looked at his friends grimly.
"Our work isn't done yet."
Dennis had woken up. He was tied to some sort of experimental table and one of the three creatures that had captured him watched over him, holding a syringe of a transparent liquid in its hand.
"Wh-where am I?" he asked weakly, trying to break free of his bonds.
"The creature can speak." the creature watching him, presumably a scientist, commented, "But what other properties does it have?"
That was when Dennis realised the reason why he was strapped to a table.
The Doctor, Rose and Lauren had entered the village and the Doctor had explained, more specifically, why he had brought them here: an entire species had been captured by the Black Guardian and that species had fallen to Earth.
"So we're saving an entire species?" Rose asked him, as they walked around the village.
"Yeah. Hopefully that'll be all the fallout I need to clear up." the Doctor replied, taking out his sonic screwdriver and using it as a tracer to try and locate the aliens that had fallen to Earth.
In a matter of moments, the sonic screwdriver had led the Doctor, Rose and Lauren to a cave opening. Strangely, the sonic screwdriver was leading them into the cave and the Doctor frowned.
"Why do aliens love caves?" the Doctor muttered to himself, "Silurians, Yeti and goodness knows what else."
"Into the lion's den we go then." Lauren said, heading into the cave.
The Tarlakian scientist had finished dissecting Dennis's body and had disposed of it in the usual way: the litter furnace. It had found out many interesting things about humans from the strange human he had been given, including their weaknesses and strengths. They only had one heart, for instance, which meant that any weapon could kill them. It had told the Tarlakian General about this and black fire missiles were being primed as it thought of what to do next.
"Hello." came the Doctor's cheery northern voice from the entrance to the lab.
"Intruders? How did you access this lab?!" the Tarlakian scientist roared.
"We came in through the front door." Lauren said with a smile, "Terribly unguarded though."
"You shall be destroyed!"
Suddenly, there was a loud bang and everything went white.
The Doctor, Rose and Lauren woke up and found that they were on an alien planet. The soil was blackened and there was no life on it whatsoever. Except for a smart young man with black hair, black eyes and who was dressed in a black suit with black shoes.
"Morning." the stranger called to them, waving.
"Who are you? Where are we?" the Doctor asked.
"So, Doctor, you're the Time Lord. By that reasoning, I must be the Dark Lord." the Dark Lord said, "And I wish to set my universe free."
The Doctor, Rose and Lauren stared in shock as the Dark Lord clapped his hands and a tall black portal opened up, with ash-coloured demons soaring out of it.
