Rose POV:
"So, your going on a date with Andrew tonight?" Lissa asked, sitting on my bed, looking at the cloths scattered all around the room.
"It's not a date liss, we are just hanging out." I said defensively. She scoffed.
I narrowed my graze at her and said, "We are just friends."
"Friends my ass. Rose I met him once and I can tell you, you could cut the sexual tension with a knife. Heck, I seriously wanted to try it."
I looked down, trying to hide my blush. I felt Lissa lift my chin up with her index finger. She smiled.
"You like him, don't you?"
I immediately started disagreeing, "Liss, it's not like th-.."
"It's because of Jesse, isn't it?" She said, looking at me knowingly.
Jesse was my first boyfriend. We dated for two years and I really thought he was the one. Until one day I reached home early and found him in bed with my former friend, Avery. It seems he was cheating on me for months. Because I was not ready to give away my virginity. He lied to me. One of the major reasons I don't trust guys. The other major reason is my dad. Of course.
I sighed, playing with my fingers. It's not easy to hide anything from Lissa. She can read me like an open book.
When I didn't say anything, she continued. "Rose, not everyone is like Jesse. Andrew seems like a nice guy. A complete gentleman. Maybe you should give him a chance."
I looked at her, "I don't know Liss, what if he hurts me like Jesse did? What if he starts lying to me?" I asked her, my voice barely above a whisper.
She pulled me into a hug. "Aw sweetie, you can never be sure about that. But sometimes love overcomes the hurt."
I didn't say anything for sometime. Then asked, "Will you help me with my outfit?"
Lissa gave me a kind-hearted smile and nodded, getting excited. I chuckled.
I sat down in the bed as she started trying to match the dresses.
"Oh, you should wear this." She said throwing it to me, I looked at it.
It was a simple one side of shoulder red top with a bow at the end. It was pretty yet simple. I smiled and gave her a thumbs up. She threw me dark blue jeans, black lacy bra and panties and pointed to the bathroom.
Immediately after I changed, she pulled me infront of the mirror and started doing my hair and makeup. After she finished, I looked in the mirror and I must say I'm impressed. Lissa had done an awesome job once again. She had put my hair into a messy bun and put on light makeup. All in all, I looked good. I smiled and thanked her.
Okay, I'm ready for a 'not date' with Andrew. I thought, taking a deep breath.
Dimitri POV:
I was standing in front of my mirror with two shirts in my hands. Trying to decide which looked more good on me. Since when did I care about my appearance?
I am very glad Ivan was not there, or else I would never hear the end of it.
I sighed and finally chose a shirt, it was dark blue and it matched with my black jeans. I hope Rose likes it. Shaking me head, I quickly got ready.
Reaching her home, I knocked on the door a few times. Lissa opened the door. She smiled and gestured me inside.
Rose came out of the room and smiled at me, my breathing hitched when I saw her and I looked at her awestruck.
"Hey comrade!" She said, waving at my face, when I didn't say anything.
"Yeah, I .. You look beautiful Roza." I said, my accent lacing heavily in each word. She blushed. Oh god no. Why?
"Let's go?" I asked, flustered, trying to control myself.
She nodded, grabbing her handbag she waved goodbye to Lissa who was also leaving to meet her boyfriend. She told me we can take her car and I agreed. I didn't bring my car because she would get suspicious.
She told me I could drive and I happily obliged. Changing the radio station, I felt Rose staring at me incredulously.
"What?" I asked cautiously.
"Just how old are you comrade?"
"I'm .. 28. Why?"
"Nothing. Just that your choice of music makes it seem like your a 60 year old." She said cheekily.
I turned away from the road briefly to glare at her and I heard her chuckle.
My eyes widened as she changed the station. Ignoring my protests she said, "Comrade, not to worry. I'll change your taste in music. You'll thank me later"
I rolled my eyes, but I couldn't stop the smile threatening to fall out of my face.
We reached pizza hut, as she told me she loves pizza. I hope she likes it. To my delight, her face brightened when she saw where we were and she hugged me before getting out of the car.
I sat for a few minutes trying to compose myself and followed her. We chatted briefly over dinner but the silence was comforting. As I expected, she ate almost double of how much I ate. I watched her eat, taking in how mesmerizing she looked. The way her lips moved when she spoke. As I stated at her, I didn't open my mouth. The look on her face was enough to make my breath uneven and I didn't exactly know why.
Rose POV:
After dinner, we decided to take a walk in the park nearby. Andrew clasped my hand in his. When I dared to sneak a glance at him, I saw a hint of smile on his face, when I didn't pull away. We walked hand in hand. he told me about his family in Russia. About his mom's and his three sisters, and his bestfriend Ivan. I smiled at the fondness he had when he spoke about his family and his bestfriend. You could see the love in his eyes when he spoke about them.
I told him about my mom, dad, Lissa and her family. He listened intently, like he was very curious to know more about me. It made me feel special. There was something about him that made me feel like I was worth it. That I deserved the happiness I'm getting. Maybe it's the way he looks at me, like he has never seen something/someone like me before.
When we were almost through, it started raining. By the time we reached the car, we were drenched and I was laughing hysterically.
"Gosh, are you allergic to rain or something? I mean, the way you ran.." I said, laughing hysterically.
He rolled his eyes and said as a matter of fact, "I just catch cold easily."
I just shook my head, still laughing.
"We've reached." He said, looking at me. I didn't even realise when the car started. I was too busy trying to dry myself and sneaking glances at him to notice anything else.
Man, this day got over real quick, I thought as Andrew came and opened the door for me. Then followed me to the door step. My mind went back to Lissa, when she said he was a gentleman.
Maybe she was right? Maybe I should give him a chance?
I was searching for the keys inside my bag facing him when he suddenly came very close. I looked up startled and saw that he was looking at the craving I and Lissa had made at the top corner of the door. It was a heart with R and L craved and an arrow across it. He smiled softly when he saw it. It made me smile too.
He looked down and seemed to realise how close we were standing. But didn't make any move to move away from his position. We stared at each other for what felt like forever, unconsciously moving closing to each other until our noses almost brushed. I looked at his lips. I don't know who made the first move but the next minute we were kissing.
It was soft and sensational, but at the same time i could feel electric sparks all over my body and it shivers down my spine. His lips slowly moved against mine, I moaned as I felt his hands around my waist. My hands got tangled in his hair. The kiss started getting more heated. He bit my lower lip asking for permission which I immediately granted. Our tongues were fighting for dominance as our hands kept moving across each other's bodies. I pulled away first, breathless and leaned on his forehead. He started trailing soft kisses to my neck. I let out a soft moan and felt his smile on my skin.
Then we heard a whistle, His head immediately shot up and he looked around cautiously. There were a few college boys passing by, who whistled and gave us a thumbs up. I chuckled and comrade smiled.
Giving me another soft kiss, he said, "I should go. I'll see you tomorrow?"
I nodded, still dazed by the kiss. He smiled, and giving me two more kisses, booked a cab.
I offered him to take my car but he politely refused, saying that I would have difficulties to go to work tomorrow and that it was no big deal.
We waited until the cab reached, and he kissed me goodbye. Going inside my house, I closed the door and leaned against it. Still thinking about the kiss. I unconsciously touched my lips, and felt it break into a wide grin. He is an amazing kisser. I thought dreamily.
~the next morning~
Dimitri POV:
I walked into the office like I had conquered the whole world. Ivan looked at me questioningly. I ignored him and walked into my cabin. He, of course, followed me.
"So, I take it the date with Rose went well." He said smirking.
"It was not a date." I said, but couldn't stop the smile threatening to spread across my face.
His grin widened, "So, what did you guys do?" He asked.
"Shhh, a gentleman doesn't kiss and tell." I said, giving him a smug smile.
"You kissed." He said, astonished but happy.
"Maybe. Maybe not." I said, enjoying the irritated look on Ivan's face.
I noticed a envelope on my table. "What's this?" I asked, lifting it up.
"It was in the office's mailbox, it was addressed to you. So I brought it here." He said.
I opened the envelope as he continued talking, "Don't change the topic Dimka, now tell me clearly how the date with Rose went or-.. Dimka? Dimka? Dimitri? What's wrong?" He asked concerned, looking at my expression.
I felt my face pale and few shades as I looked at the contents in the envelope. No, this can't be happening. My heart started beating furiously as I faintly heard Ivan trying to get my attention.
No way! This .. this is.. no! God please no!
