Kyber Crystals
Ahsoka toyed with one of her head tails. I don't get it. She thought, they should be to my waist by now. But they haven't grown since I was 16.
Beep, beep, beep.
"Hello?" Ahsoka said as she answered her Omni-tool.
"I just sent that upgrade you ordered." Said a shrouded figure.
"Thanks."
"Also, I found what you looking for."
"Send me the coordinates, your fee will be arriving shortly."
"Shepard…I need a favor." Ahsoka said.
"What do you need?" Shepard asked.
"Perhaps you've heard about me tinkering in my spare time?"
"Kelly mentioned it. What's up?"
"I'm trying to recreate my old weapon. It's called a lightsaber."
"Lightsaber?"
"Remember when I said I was part of the Jedi Order. The lightsaber was Jedi's weapon. It was a 3 foot blade of superheated plasma that could cut through anything."
"Do you need materials?"
"Actually I just finished building it, except for the most critical piece."
"And that is?"
"A Kyber Crystal."
"A Kyber Crystal?"
"No just any old crystal will work. Kyber Crystals are special."
"Alright, what's the catch?"
"I spoke to an information broker. She said she located a crystal cave…on Kor."
"Kor?"
"A small planet made mostly of forests and plains in the Annois Basin."
"The Annois Basin? Is it colonized?"
"No. STG has sent teams to the planet but most never came back. Those that did where traumatized. I won't lie to you, there's something down there Shepard."
"I suppose we can make time."
"I owe you Shepard."
Orbiting Kor…
"Hm… no power signatures or technology. A lot of life signs readings though." Joker said.
"Let's see," Ahsoka said from the co-pilots seat. "She said it was…there!"
"What the? That's strange energy reading." Joker said when Ahsoka's readings showed up on his screen to.
"I know. There must be a lot of crystals in that cave."
"Ahsoka, Grunt, meet me in the shuttle." Shepard said as he put on his helmet.
Shepard and Grunt wore their helmets while Ahsoka wore a visor. They didn't have much problem as they walked through the plains until they reached the cave.
"Shepard,"
"Yeah EDI?"
"The life sign readings are strongest in cave like the one you are about to enter. I advise caution."
"Noted." Ahsoka said as she led them inside. "She wasn't joking. There's something in here, but further in."
"And this crystal you need?" Shepard asked.
"Most likely past them."
"So we get to fight, good." Grunt said coking his M-300 Claymore.
"You hear that?" Ahsoka asked, "Shh… hiya!" she shouted, stabbed something with her new Omni-blade (the upgrade mentioned earlier) and Grunt shot it for good measure.
"What the hell is that!?" shepard demanded looking at the spider like creature.
"My God, I think it's a Kinrath." Ahsoka said.
"A what?"
"A Kinrath. Non-sentient arachnoids found mainly in caves in forests. They shouldn't be here."
"Why not?"
"Cause they're from my galaxy." She said and drew one of her twin SMGs and her sword. "There's a large number up ahead. This little gift from Zaeed should help." She said and pulled out a grenade.
When they reached the next cavern which was filled with Kinrath she threw it, "Burn!" she said as her inferno grenade exploded clearing some of them out.
"I'm starting to like this girl." Grunt said shooting some of the other Kinrath with Shepard.
They entered another tunnel taking down a few more Kinrath until they reached another cavern. "Whoa, hold on." Ahsoka whispered and crouched.
Shepard didn't see it at first, but it didn't take long to notice. In the center of the cavern was a massive Kinrath.
"Allow me." Ahsoka said and slowly walked forward.
"What is she doing?" Grunt whispered.
The Queen Kinrath suddenly noticed and got ready to strike. Then Ahsoka held out her hand and it calmed down and then it lied down.
"Come on, she'll be asleep for a few hours." She said as led them in to another tunnel. "The crystals should be right…whoa." She said softly as they entered a cavern filled with crystlas clusters of blue, green, yellow, orange, purple, white, silver, and even gold. She collected several of each. "Let's get back."
Normandy briefing room…
Shepard's squardmates plus Kelly had gathered in the comm. room.
"Why exactly are we here?" Miranda asked.
"Watch." Ahsoka said as laid several pieces of metal and a single green crystal in front of her and sat down. Suddenly the pieces began floating in front of her and coming together. Soon it was mostly complete4d with the crystal chamber showing. The crystal floating into the camber and it was covered and the completed lightsaber fell into Ahsoka's hand.
"That was actually kind cool." Jack said.
"And oddly therapeutic." Kelly added.
"Here's the best part." Ahsoka said and activated it.
Everyone stared in awe at the 3 foot long bright green blade that appeared.
I finally feel comfortable here.
