Sorry for the late updates guys. My tendinitis flared up in my wrist and I wrote in pain.

Chapter 19
I think this monkey likes me
If there was one way to make a dog demon angry, this was it. Tie a wild dog to a leash one, shame on them, tie a wild dog to a leash twice, it was goodbye life. However, this wild dog didn't seem on content of killing me. At least, not yet. But I really did hope he wouldn't kill me. He wouldn't, right? Right?
Oh what did I just put myself into? Rin, you stupid idiot! But remember the plan, remember why. The baby…that's why. He deserves it after everything I went through.
For the next two minutes, yes two minutes, all I could hear was low growling. From the corner of my eyes, I could see a slight tint of red in his eyes. I frowned, facing him fully. My expression straightened, showing no signs of fear, no signs of letting him free.
He was still looking at Ayame like she was the mastermind in this. Time to set things right. I cleared my throat. "Why are you looking at her? I'm the one who did all of this. Ayame just gave me the handcuffs."
"And helped you with the flyers. By the way, you still owe me printer money."
I waved her off, looking back at Sesshomaru who had now stopped growling and fell into some hard breathing. You know, the one where you try to stop yourself from doing something, but it doesn't really work? Yeah, that one. And he only did this when he was passed the furious stage. He was in a stage of no return.
I didn't even know what happened next. All I heard was a quick Ayame gasp then I was pinned against a metal pole under the football bleachers, my eyes inches away from glowing red ones. My breathing hitched as he grew even closer until his warm breath was evenly on me. Now I was a bit afraid. But not afraid to stand down.
"Do you want to die, Rin?" he calmly, but darkly said. "Because I can rip your body in half in less than a second if I wanted to."
I swallowed, recovering. "But you won't. Because I know, and you know…" Crap, I was stuck! "…that…you are still in love with me."
He chuckled lightly, backing away slightly. "You are being ridiculous."
"Am I?" I raised an eyebrow.
"You silly girl, I was never in love with you to begin with."
I frowned, narrowing my eyes at him. "Really." This wasn't a question. I was testing him, making sure. Was I hurt? Yes. But I wasn't going to show it at the least. "Because it seems from what you are doing right now…" I closed the distance between us, and whispered, "…you are."
"You're wrong. It was just a game to me, or didn't you know that already? You were just someone to have fun with, besides we were stuck together, I didn't have many options."
I nodded, biting my lips, trying to stop the tears from coming. I kept my expression plain, nothing shown. "Then you are stuck. Because now, I'm not letting you go. This is for everything you've done to me. Get used to it."
He sighed in exasperation. "What the hell do you want?"
"I already told you, Takahashi. I thought dog demons were supposed to have good hearing."
"I mean what is your purpose to this thing again? This was your friend's idea the first time, now it's yours. I want to know fully why."
"I've told you!" I snapped. "It's called retribution, revenge, vengeance! Look it up in a dictionary if you like, but the answer is always going to be the same. I'm going to show you what it's like to be me. You've hurt me too many times and I'm not going to let you slide without a little bit of pay back. You know the saying fight fire with fire and you get a bigger fire? Well, I'll fight it either way. As long as you learn in the end what you've done to me, how much you've hurt me; I'll unlock you and set you free."
"Or I can cut off your arm."
"Then do it! If you hate me so much and want to get away from me then kill me right here, right now."
He scrunched his nose up and breathed heavily. All I could do was stare at him and wait, hoping he wouldn't do it and get cold bones. Then he breathed out, relaxing, and so did I. "I don't want blood on my hands."
"Then we agree to disagree." I lowered my voice.
It was all quiet between us for at least thirty seconds. And when those thirty seconds were up, the person I really didn't want to see at the moment showed up with her voice and her high heels and that hair. Gods, that hair was the worst! All volume-y and curly. She probably spent thousands of dollars on it. Damn rich people. She probably used the wind too! Tsk tsk to her. The wind was free for everyone's use and she spent so much money on it just for her hair. What an environment hating demon!
"What is this?" Her voice shrieked.
"Kagura, what a pleasant surprise," I said in a not-so-proper tone. "What do you want?"
"What do I want? What the hell are you doing with my boyfriend…" she gasped, pointing to the handcuffs. "…with those?"
"It's called payback. Takahashi deserves it from everything he's done to me, and now he's doing the time."
She stepped closer. "And who gave you permission on doing that to my boyfriend…wait…were you the one who put those stupid pictures of him all over the school?"
"Awe, I thought he looked cute! You don't like your boyfriend in pink?" I heard him growl quietly, and ignored him, continuing. "You know, Kagura, you should've kept a better eye on your BF if you didn't want him to get stuck again."
"You want a punch in the face?" she threatened.
"Bring it!"
"Enough!" Sesshomaru said, his voice deeply threatening than Kagura's words. "I'm getting a headache hearing both of your voices."
"Sesshy, tell her to unlock you," Kagura whined.
I rolled my eyes as he answered. "Not happening."
She backed up, her face turning into the devil. "What?"
"I can't be with you while I'm stuck to her."
"Then do something about it!"
"No."
"No?"
"I don't need to repeat myself. You should leave before things get worse."
She narrowed her eyes, dark red irises getting brighter and brighter. "Oh it already has, Sesshomaru. It already has." She then looked at me. "Better sleep with your eyes open, bitch."
I watched her walk away then thinking, what a cliché to end with.
Then I went back to Sesshomaru…knowing quite well why he wouldn't hurt me. And it wasn't because he loved me. No, he could smell…he could smell. Why was he being so close to me in the first place? Come on people! Open your eyes! It was super obvious why he was inches away. If I wasn't going to tell him, his nose would.
And I didn't even have to say a word about it. Nor anyone else.
"You know, don't you? It's the reason why you aren't hurting me. Or you would've at least broken my arm to get the cuffs off." I spoke, my tone softened to the point where you had to be Sesshomaru to hear.
He remained quiet at the time, but his face has softened a tad, telling me he did know. So I waited for his response.
And waited.
And waited some more.
Okay, this was getting a little ridiculous.
"Say something!" I demanded. "Anything!"
"I have nothing to say," he answered, looking away from me.
"Yes, you do! You know! I know you do! You know quite well why you aren't doing what you want to do with me. Even after I masked my scent, you can still smell it." I paused. "When did you find out? Before I did?"
"I only found out yesterday when we spoke in the halls. I have no recalling when you found out."
He had found out before me! He was good. But super awkward and embarrassing. The wind blew passed us, but that was the only thing going. All we could do was stand there, myself now unable to speak. I guess I was speechless since I thought he would've known after I did.
"So now you know why now I did this?" I spoke quietly, lifting my hand. "You will not be abandoning me throughout this. If I go down, you'll be going down with me. This was the one thing I didn't want in high school and now that I do, there is no way in hell I'm going to blame myself for this mess. This isn't my fault. It's yours and you are going to have to pay for it."
"It's my fault you wound up pregnant? Funny, I never remembered you resisting me."
"It was your damn idea in the first place! I can't help your sexual needs!"
He signed. "This is foolish. You're being foolish."
"I'm being foolish!?" I snapped.
"Silence your tongue!" he shot back, and I froze. "I'll stay, but be silent. I'm sick of hearing of your voice."
"Wait...you'll stay?" I wasn't surprised, but….
"I said be silent," he hissed.
I blinked, feeling him tugging on my arm as he started to walk away. I stumbled forward, catching my footing as we returned to the school building. But he suddenly stopped hundred feet from the entrance, making me walk into him.
"Walk. Stop. Make up your damn mind, Takahashi!" I complained.
He turned to me then, and I stopped talking, looking into his golden eyes. He was planning something.
"What?" I asked.
"We need to hide this for a while. If I can smell it, then others probably will."
"Okay…well…Ayame's mom has this perfume—"
"No. We aren't using that disgusting stuff. If I'm stuck with you, I will be hiding the scent myself."
"How? It's not like you can rub your saliva or blood on me. Besides…that would be gross."
He smirked then, and I frowned, eyeing him carefully. Then in a flash, he had brought his face into the right side of my collar bone and bit into the skin. I shot back when I felt the pain, and he pulled away, whipping the blood from his mouth. I placed my hand onto the wound, mouth gapped open.
"What the hell was that?" I shouted.
"I fixed the problem."
"By biting me? Are you stupid? That fucking hurt!"
He remained silent as he started dragging me again, and I kept my hand on the bite mark, wondering why this would help our situation.
The bell rang when we got inside, saving us from numbers of stares from our peers. But that didn't save us from the peers in our biology class. Still, we sat down, ignoring everyone, and I ignored the throbbing pain on my shoulder.
When class started, the teacher announced a new student was joining us. Rare. We never had student in the middle of the semester. But then he walked in, a kid with long black, shimmering hair, red eyes, and a menacing face that reminded me a bit of Kagura's. He introduced us as Naraku, a part of the Yoki family, meaning he was related to Kagura somehow. Should've guessed that. But I still couldn't shake off the feeling I've met him before.
He came and sat down beside me, giving me a kind, soft smile.
"I'm Naraku, nice to meet you."
"Rin," I smiled.
We went to shake hands, but I paused when our hands touched. I blinked, releasing it quickly, giving him a quick smile then focusing back onto the lesson. Or at least tried.
During this, I could hear a low rumble from Sesshomaru and Naraku's eyes on me.
xXx
Sesshomaru had calmed down when the bell rang and we got out of the classroom. We met up with Ayame and Koga, and from Sesshomaru's calm demeanor, it told me he was passed the kill stage. Or I hoped he was.
When we met up, Ayame and Koga frowned at us, and Ayame especially looked…well…she looked like she was about to crack.
"What did you do!?" She burst out at Sesshomaru.
Yup, she cracked. But why? I couldn't tell.
"What?" I asked.
"What did you do? Why did you do that to her, Sesshomaru!? She's too young and not committed. Why did you just throw her whole life away?"
I opened my mouth to speak, but I didn't know what to say. I didn't even know what Ayame was talking about. Then Sesshomaru spoke…and his words…well…it shocked me.
"It was to mask her scent. And since she is pregnant with my child, it's the law to mark her as mine."
"But you…she…did you even ask her?"
"No."
"Yours?" I muttered to myself. Then I faced him. "What do you mean yours?
"I mean what I say, Mutant. I marked you as mine. If you're caring my pup, you carry my mark. Understand?"
"No, no I don't understand….wait…so this mark…Oh my god."
"Dude, congrats!" Koga commented.
"No, not congrats! I'm going to kill him!" Ayame snapped.
I turned to her before she pounced. "Ayame, it's fine."
"What?"
"I'm okay with it. He's agreed to stay and I guess this will prevent any other demon to smell the baby."
"Baby?" Koga joined in.
Ayame placed her hand to his mouth. "I'll tell you later, only if you don't speak to anyone else about it." She spoke to me again. "Are you sure about this, Rin? You are literally throwing your life, your future away from being with him."
"My future was gone when the stick showed positive. I can't change what has happened and I have to face it, but not by myself."
"If you're sure. But if he does anything…" she looked at him. "…if I hear on the news she was hurt or worse, you're dead meat."
"I think I'll be okay, Ayame. By the way, have you met the new student here? Naraku Yoki?"
"Oh yeah, he came up to us before you guys came over. I had no idea who he was and he just started talking to us about you," Ayame answered. "It was strange."
"He sits right beside me in class. What was he talking about?"
"He just thought you had pretty eyes and asked if we knew you. I told him no just so he could move along. Darn monkey demons."
I breathed out. "He's a monkey demon? Doesn't look like one."
"He sure smells like one."
I shrugged. "I think this monkey likes me."
"You think?"
I shivered. "I really hope not. I already have too much on my plate as it is."
Either way, I had a feeling this monkey fellow would be building a brick wall sooner or later in my life and it would be one I wouldn't be able to break easily.
Good think I had a dog demon beside me.
