"Banzai!" Shenzi shouted as she and Ed ran over to him. The hyenas followed them. Banzai winced in pain as he struggled to look up at his worried clan.
"Huh, Shenzi?...Ed?" he managed to ask.
"Banzai, what happened to you?" one of the hyenas asked. The wounded hyena winced again.
"Z~... Zira... did this to me. I don't think I can keep up with you." he whispered.
"No." Shenzi said, feeling close to tears. The hyenas began to feel saddened. They encircled the hyena trio.
"Shenzi... you and Ed have been my very best pals in the world. I'll never forget you. I'll love you all."
"Banzai, no! Don't die from us!" Shenzi sobbed.
"Goodbye, Shenzi... Goodbye... I love you..." Banzai said, and he lost his life. His eyes are closed and his head fell to the side. He gave his final sigh of death. Shenzi felt her tears flowing down her face.
"Banzai?! Banzai!" Shenzi cried. Her heart shattered. She broke down and sobbed into Banzai's face. "I love you..."
Ed sniffled and walked over to the crying matriarch. Ed whined as he sobbed and sat beside Shenzi and Banzai. As tears ran from Ed's eyes, he howled ghostly; a howl used for the death of the matriarch's mate.
The sad hyenas were close to tears, and then they howled. They heard the hyena queen's fainting, mumbling sobs, as if Shenzi was lulling Banzai to sleep... in peace.
