"Honey is for bees, silly bear." Luffy quietly sang out when he remembered one of his grandfather's visits to the mountain.

-Garp visit after Ace and Dadan were found after the fire and Sabo was thought dead-

Garp walked up the mountain slope, saddened by the loss of Sabo.

Knock knock knock

Garp's knocks lacked enthusiasm as he slowly rapped on the door. When the door opened Garp was met with a slightly puffy eyed Dadan and the sound of a young strawhat trying his best to stifle his cries to no avail.

Garp made his way over to Ace and Luffy, not with his usual Marine nonsense just as they didn't say anything about being pirates.

Garp leaned against a wall and brought the two boys close to his chest, both boys too caught up in Sabo's death to have the faintest thought of fighting back. Garp had one boy under each arm, both still having waterfalls flow from their eyes.

"Honey is for bees, silly bear." Garp began, stroking the bridge of the boy's noses. "Besides there's jelly beans everywhere. It's not what it seems in the land of dreams. Don't worry your head just go to sleep." Garp sang while Luffy drifted to a silent sleep and Ace sat and listened till the song ended.

-Present Day-

"What was that Luffy?" Usopp asked curiously while he sat on the railing of the Sunny holding out a fishing pole.

"Nothing! Just want some yummy fish!!" Luffy lied, it's not like the song was a secret or anything, he just held it close to his heart, and frankly he didn't want to tell Usopp he had been thinking of singing a lullaby... In the middle of the day!

Luffy sat there, thinking, wondering, missing. It had been a year ago today that Ace died, the large 'X' shaped scar on his chest was a reminder of that day, both a painful and humbling experience.

An hour or so crept by, Usopp, Luffy and Chopper hadn't caught a thing in the whole 3 hours they'd been sitting on the railing. So Luffy, being Luffy, decided he didn't want to fish anymore and he would rather just eat some of the food Sanji was busy cooking.

"Eh? You're leaving Luffy?" The tiny doctor questioned.

"Yeah! I'm hungry now!" Luffy replied, he didn't want to cause his crew trouble so he tried to play the day off coolly, just like himself. Yup! Nothing was wrong. He was the captain afterall, his nakama shouldn't have to worry about him.

"Luffy?" Sanji asked, not acting as he usually would. Not kicking him out of the kitchen, in fact Sanji barely fought with Zoro today and, to top that off, Sanji had only made heart eyes at Nami and Robin 10 times today, while his normal number would have been over 200 times.

You see the crew knew about the anniversary, and they tried their damn best to act normal, but the worry for their captain was stronger than they had all anticipated. Each crew member was acting rather odd, Nami hadn't hit Luffy at all, Sanji didn't yell at him to get out of the kitchen, Usopp and Chopper tried to spend more time with him, Brook barely sang and when he did the song turned more melancholy than uplifting, Franky hadn't said 'SUPER' at all, Robin had been more observant of her captain and her voice was less blunt when talking to him, and Zoro didn't take a nap instead he kept his one working eye on Luffy. So them trying to act normal turned into them spying on Luffy, not wanting to leave him alone for one second.

"MEAT!" Luffy shouted it, but it didn't come out as enthusiastically as he would have liked.

Sanji nodded with a small smile and began to cook his captain a large feast. Luffy, oddly enough, sat at the table. He sat silently and patiently, if the crew didn't know today was the anniversary then they would've thought Luffy was about to die or the world was gonna end.

"Here you go, captain." Saji held out two large plates of meat for Luffy to dig into.

The rest of the crew peeked in the room from outside the door.

"Do you think he's gonna be ok?" Chopper whispered as he backed away from the door for everyone else to look inside.

"Yeah! I mean he's Luffy after all!" Usopp whisper yelled from his spot.

"Yes, maybe, but the captain isn't eating like his normal self." Robin pointed to Luffy's oddly normal speed of eating.

The rest of the crew looked in only to see Luffy, not only eating slowly, but also not being able to finish even one plate of his food, barely half of the meat was gone on one plate and the other wasn't even touched.

"Phew, Sanji I'm done! I had a big lunch after all!" Luffy smiled, but Sanji saw how dim it shined compared to the other times he flashed that signature smile.

"Yeah, sure." Sanji said. Sanji was the cook on the ship and he knew for a fact that Luffy barely even touched his lunch and he didn't even eat breakfast, plus Luffys a terrible liar.

Luffy began to walk toward the door making the crew members outside the door quickly scurry to their original positions.

"Hey!" Luffy yelled out with a fake grin on his face. "I'm going to go to bed right now! I mean the sun is already down and I don't feel like staying up late!"

"Yeah sure! Goodnight Luffy." Usopp and Chopper said in unison.

"Night guys!" Luffy then made his way down to the captains quarters. He opened the door, walked in, then closed the door and plopped himself on his bed.

"I think I'll go to bed too. All this worrying has gotten me quite tired." Robin said as she made her way to the women's quarters.

"Yeah, me too. I'm exhausted." Nami agreed and followed her down.

The rest of the crew quickly followed suit, all except Zoro who had watch.

But soon after the crew was comfortable none of them seemed to be able to sleep, not even Zoro.

"Honey is for bees, silly bear. Besides there's jelly beans everywhere," Luffy sang. He sang it loud enough for the whole crew to hear, (of course on a silent ship that was pretty easy.)

"Was that Luffy?" Nami looked at Robin who also had a surprised expression. As the two made their way down to Luffy's room they ran into Usopp and Sanji who looked at them with furrowed eyebrows.

"It's not what it seems in the land of dreams. Don't worry your head just go to sleep." Luffy continued to sing.

By the time Nami, Robin, Sanji, and Usopp got there, the others had already been peeking in through a crack in the door and the little window on his door.

"It doesn't matter how you feel. Life is just a ferris wheel. It's always up and down, don't make a sound. When you wake up the world will come around."

When the four of them got into position, they saw their captain sitting on his bed criss cross applesauce, singing his song to 2 sake glasses, one with an A on it and the other with an S. There was also another one, discarded on his desk, empty, and with an L painted on it.

"When you wake up the world will come around. It's just the sweet weather and the peacock feathers. In the morning it will all be better." Luffy continued as tears slowly welled up in his eyes.

Luffy sat on his bed silently for a few seconds before lifting his gaze to the roof over his head.

"Haa, I miss you guys." He began as a silent tear slipped down his face. "I wish you guys were here... but you don't have to worry, I have my crew." He brought his face back down staring at the two glasses on his mini table. "They take care of me, even though I annoy them... It's funny actually, today they must've remembered what happened a year ago, and I guess they tried to play the day off as normal, but they all acted weird." Luffy chuckled a bit just as another tear slid out of his eye and onto the bed. "Sanji didn't even kick me out of the kitchen, and Zoro didn't take a nap, Chopper and Usopp tried playing with me alot today, Brook didn't sing, Franky was above deck all day, Nami didn't hit me once. Not even when I spilt some ink on the edge of one of her maps. And Robin didn't read any books. They even tried to spy on me when I was trying to eat, not that I had much of an appetite today anyway..." Several more tears started to erupt from his eyes. "I really do miss you though, just one more hug, one more word, one more fight, just o-one more moment would be enough." Luffy's voice cracked and his face was drenched in tears, the silent room soon filled with hics and quiet sobs.

Meanwhile outside Luffy's room, the crew had heard it all and seen it all. Choppers, Usopps, Frankys, and Brooks' eyes (not that he had any) began to send a waterfall of tears down their faces. Nami let a few small tears slide down her face. Robin smiled as a few tears fell from her eyes as well. Sanji scoffed as one small tear escaped his eye. Zoro went into protective boyfriend mode and rushed into the room causing the crew to swiftly back away from the door they had all been leaning on.

"Z-zoro?" Luffy said in between sobs.

"Idiot." Zoro mumbled as he slid onto the bed and pulled his captain into a warm embrace.

"Ok guys, lets go." Sanji said upon seeing the captain and the swordsman embrace each other. And with that the crew went back to their rooms, that is everyone except Nami and Robin who slightly peered through the circular window.

Zoro had his arms wrapped tightly around Luffy's small body.

"Zoro? What're you doing?" Luffy queried with tears still falling from his bloodshot eyes.

"I'm hugging you, what does it look like I'm doing?" Zoro answered with a squeeze.

"But, why?" Luffy asked not embracing Zoro in his arms yet.

"Because... I felt like it." Zoro mumbled the last part hoping Luffy didn't hear him, especially considering Zoro wasn't one to show such obvious affection.

"Di-did you hear me just now?" Luffy asked as a pink dust fluttered over his face.

"Yeah."

"Did everyone else hear too?" The pink on Luffy's face became more abundant.

"Yeah."

Luffy buried his burning face in Zoro's shirt.

"Are you... Embarrassed?" Zoro asked with obvious shock in his voice.

Robin and Nami still looked through the window and were also in shock that, yes, their captain, Strawhat Luffy, a boy who seemed impenetrable to anything embarrassing, was currently blushing from his Nakama hearing him sing a song, which he not only has done before, but has also done it terribly (unlike this time, when his voice was actually beautifully hitting every note.)

"Wow, I never thought that Luffy could be embarrassed..." Nami said, her eyes slightly widened.

"Yes, I never thought Captain could ever be embarrassed either." Robin agreed.

"Hey, Zoro?" Luffy brought his head off of Zoro's chest and Zoro loosened his grip slightly.

"What?"

"Can we stay like this for a little while?" Luffy asked with red puffy eyes and a tiny frown on his face.

"Sure..." Zoro said with a pink flush creeping onto his face.

"Aww, that's so cute." Nami said with her hands clasped together.

"Yes I must agree with you." Robin said with a smile on her face.

And of course Nami being the money hungry woman that she is, brought out a small digital camera that was gifted to her before she left her island after Arlong had been defeated. She only used it 2 other times, one was with Usopp, Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji. The other was with everyone on sabaody right after the 2 year gap.

Robin looked over to see Nami focusing on the two boys curled up on the bed together.

"What are you doing?" Robin asked in her regular monotone voice.

"Well, there are a lot of yaoi fangirls out there that would love to see Strawhat Luffy and his first mate cuddling and being coupley. I can't believe I hadn't thought of this before!"

Robin simply smiled and watched as Nami clicked the button on her camera several times.

Zoro and Luffy had moved and were now leaning against the wall with a pillow behind Zoro's back. Luffy's head was resting on Zoro's chest, and Zoro had one arm over Luffy wrapped around his waist while the other was under Luffy with and clasped with his other.

"Zoro?" Luffy asked, nudging the sleepy swordsman with his head.

"Yeah?"

"I love you."

Zoro chuckled a little before kissing the top of Luffy's head. "Yeah, I love you too."

Robin and Nami smiled before leaving the door and heading back to the girls area.
