Maou and Emi our both determined to give Alas Ramus a chance to have a real family, so they worked up an idea to start living together, however they did not expect things to go like this, not at all.
They are now stuck in quarantine with each other, because of the new virus that has surfaced on this planet, Cocona.
Demon or not, angel or not, sephirah or not, one must not go out under any conditions, they were all under tight restrictions, if they were seen out then police would arrest them or anyone for that matter, Ashiya tried one time when Maou informed him of the situation through the phone; "Sire! You mustn't! I must come to your rescue now" with Maou face palming himself on the on the other line, well in the end however he got caught up with police on the way and he had to pay a heavy fine so hes staying home, stuck with Lucifer, he only goes put to do groceries and sometimes they order it online now.
However at Emis place, things in quarantine started to become almost impossible as Maou and Emi got into constant arguments, like once, Maou messed the whole living room while playing with Alas Ramus, and they got into an argument;
"Maou, please would it kill you to clean up the mess after you play with Alas! Its driving me nuts! You never clean it, why do I have to be the one to clean your mess up!?"
"Emi please, why do you have to be pissed off all the time?!"
"Its because of you! You get on my last nerve sometimes! Of all the people why do I have to be stuck with you?"
"So wait sometimes? That means I don't get on your nerves all the time right? That's progress right?"
"Grr!" Emi just groaned and went off to the kitchen to cook a meal for them.
Well there some these moments like this and some are heart warming like; "wow look at the stars tonight!" Emi said looking at the sky, as both her and Maou were looking our of the window as Alas is asleep on Emis lap.
"Those stars look like a Mg Ronald grilled cheese burger" Maou said observing the stars.
Emi just laughed at him,
"You're such an idiot, Where did that even come from?! Are you for real right now?!"
"It does, look-" he was actually going to explain how he saw that burger until Emi interrupted him, laughing softly at him, "stop, i think you're just hungry!"
Emi doesn't mind having him around for a bit, at-least when hes like this, bearable, its almost cute. She blushed at that thought.
"Emi are you okay?! You look a bit red"
He put his hands on her forehead to check, she fidgeted, "I am fine!"
"You know what a fever really means in a time like this?"
"I know what it means! Its not what you think it is"
"Alright just looking after my family"
Right they were family after all.
Then there were moments like these;
"Why aren't you sleeping yet?" Maou facing Emi's side as She was looking up the ceiling awake. "You look weird like that you know?!"
As they are sleeping next to each-other, but with the obvious gap between them and they gave the bed to Alas Ramus since she moves around a lot.
"What? Its not like I have work tomorrow,I don't need to sleep early!"
"What are you even thinking about?! Its 2 am in the morning"
"Just sleep, it doesn't concern you!" Emi said her pride got better of her.
"Ok well, good night!" he turned other way to sleep, really hes not asleep hes just counting down till shes going to wake him up to tell her whats on her mind, he knows her way too well, he thought and snickered.
Maou was right, after about 10 minutes, he heard a soft "Maou.."
He pretended not to listen and sleep testing Emi's patience.
"I know you're awake you jerk!"
"Haha, ya sorry! Was just teasing you, whats up?"
"I am just feeling really sad, thinking about Alas Ramus leaving us, I cant really leave her, I will miss her a lot"
"Funny.. I was thinking the same way as well Alas=Ramus was really a gift to us both"
"Yea..." Emi agreed with Maou but then muttered below her breath "I like being a family as well" she mused with herself and blushed
"Huh Emi did you say something?" Maou questioned Emi
"Uh nothing! you can go back to sleep now thank you for your hard work" Emi swiftly with speed turned on her side and buried her face with the blanket to avoid Maou seeing her face.
Maou chuckled thinking her antics were cute and turned into his side as well smiling in his sleep thinking about moments he would get to spend with his family.
"This quarantine is troublesome itself but at least I can enjoy it with them" shocking his own self when he included Emi, he'd never admit it but hanging out with her was something he looked forward to everyday, with that thought lingering in his mind, he fell asleep.
Then there were other moments where others would feel jealous of them;
Currently, Maou is on the phone with Chiho Sakaki, who happens to have a huge crush on him;
"Maou, how are you? Hows every one? This quarantine sucks! I heard you were stuck in Emi's place for the time being" she said the last part between her teeth, she does not like it, him being with Emi, living like a couple, its not fair, lifes not fair.
"MAOU! Put a freakin shirt on! Why are you roaming around shirtless for?!" Emi's voice was heard loudly across the whole place, and well unfortunate for Chiho, she heard it, she tightened her grip ok the phone as if it'll break, she was feeling so much jealousy, she thought, just how far are they in their relationship!
"What do you mean Emi?! Its bloody hot outside! What do you want me to do women?", Maou shouted.
"I don't know, you're gonna scare Alas Ramus, shes in my room playing right now so hurry up and put a damn shirt on!" Emi said, with the face beet red, trying to find an excuse to hide how uncomfortable she is seeing him like this, her heart was beating faster. Then Emi noticed a phone in his hands;
"Who are you on phone with?" She asked curious.
Maou totally forgot that he was speaking to Chiho, "Oh its Chi! Hey Chi! Sorry about that!"
Chiho who has been listening to their whole conversation, just zoned out, just on the verge of giving up on Maou, she thought, id hate to admit it but they sound like a married couple, fight like a freaking married couple.
"Oh no problem! I can call some other time if it's a bad time?'
"Ya! Speak to you later Chi!"
"Ok! Say hi to Emi and Alas for me!"
"Okay bye!" Said Maou, hanging up the phone.
Then Maou focused his attention to Emi,
"Alright Emi, chill out alright? You okay? Whats up?"
Emi who was standing there a whole time, just stuttered and blushed, "Please, I am fine, just go on put on the shirt!'
With that Emi ran off, leaving a very confused Maou scratching his head.
Then we have moments where they should care for each-other.
"Papa is back!" Alas ran towards Maou as he came back from the grocery shopping.
"Hey there Alas! Papa bought you some sweets"
Before he can make contact with her though, Emi came and frantically said,
" WASH YOUR HANDS MAOU BEFORE YOU TOUCH ANYTHING!"
Before going to the grocery store, Emi gave him specific instructions to not touch anything, to stay away from people 2m apart, to not touch your face and stuff like that, to avoid getting a virus, now that hes back home, he hasn't washed his hands yet apparently.
"Relax Emi! Demons don't get some viruses!"
"Maou please, just wash your hands! I wont hear none of this, your stubbornness wont work here!"
Maou just rolled his eyes, "Fine!" He stomped off to the sink when he heard Emi say, "for exactly 20 seconds! Not a second less got it?!"
"Ya ya ya" Maou did as he was told, he smiled and thought, "that's just how she cares"
"What are you so smiley about?" Emi questioned him.
"Oh nothing…" Maou answered knowingly and then he continued, "come on its almost time for Alas Ramus favorite cartoons, lets watch with her"
So they settled on the couch, Alas Ramus in between and Emi and Maou on either side of her, watching cartoons with her while she held both of their hands together, all of them having content smiles on their faces, just like a perfect family.
