Sorry for the hiatus. I've been having a bout of what I call "Downitis" for a while now, so writing comedy has been a challenge. I'm really going to try to update sooner next time. Happy reading!

Two Weeks Later

Ross was on pins and needles just waiting for Jill to come home one day and shout out that she knew he had cheated on Rachel (even though it wasn't true), but Paul obviously hadn't told her. They were still dating, which Ross found hard to believe. How desperate was Paul to keep dating Jill? Ross didn't see the attraction.

"Honey, stop," Rachel said, seeing him pace. "Obviously Paul isn't telling her."

"And why not? What's his motive?"

"I'm sure there is none."

"There has to be," Ross argued. "He's just biding his time."

"Do you want me to tell Jill first?" Rachel asked.

"No, no, no!" Ross exclaimed. "Your sister will tell your father, and then I will have to prove to him I didn't, which will make him even more suspicious, and it will just get more complicated."

"Okay, okay," Rachel said, holding up her hands. "I won't say anything."

"Oh my God, Paul is the sweetest man alive," Jill said, coming into the apartment then. Ross and Rachel both watched her carefully. She still didn't seem to know.

"Oh yea? What did he do?" Rachel asked. She was a bit curious after all.

"He's taking me to his cabin! For the weekend!" Jill squealed.

"Oh?"

"He said you two could come too if you want, but please don't," Jill ordered. "I want him all to myself."

"He invited us?" Rachel asked. "As in...me and Ross?"

"Yea."

Ross gave Rachel a look that conveyed he was right and that Paul was up to something, but Rachel ignored him.

"Well, maybe we want to go," Rachel said.

"Oh, Rach, please. Noooo," Jill begged.

"I want to know the guy who is dating my sister. We won't stay the night. We'll just go up for the day," Rachel said. Jill perked a little at this.

"You won't stay overnight?"

"No way. You think I wanna hear my little sister going at it with some guy? No thanks," Rachel snorted.

"You're the best," Jill beamed.

"What are you doing?" Ross asked Rachel after Jill skipped happily off to her room.

"I'm gonna put it straight to Paul that you're in a very loving marriage," Rachel said.

"He's a wack job. He won't care. He didn't believe me when I told him."

"He'll believe me," Rachel promised. "Trust me."

Phoebe & Monica

"How did you get these tickets again?" Monica asked. She and Phoebe were at the Morgan Chase museum.

"A massage client gave them to me. Yea, I know," Phoebe said upon seeing Monica's expression. "Who would just give these up? It's too bad Rachel missed it."

"She's going away with Ross for the day," Monica said. Rachel had filled her in on Paul and what was going on. Monica hoped things would work out for them. Rachel was 30 weeks pregnant after all. Stress wasn't good for her. Phoebe was watching a couple walk around with a woman, who was talking about their wedding.

"They do weddings here?" Phoebe asked, perking a little. Monica noticed, and she felt warm inside. Phoebe had no idea that Joey was going to propose to her. Then she got an idea.

"Excuse me," Monica called. The woman stopped and looked at them.

"Yes?"

"You do weddings here?"

"Oh yes, but we are very booked up. It's a two year waiting list."

"Two years?!" Monica exclaimed. She thought hard. Well, Joey might take a bit with the proposal. They might take two years to plan their wedding. No offense to either of them, but they weren't the best at making plans. Monica was, though.

"Wow, that's a huge waiting list," Phoebe said.

"You should put your name down," Monica said.

"What? Why?"

"I don't know. It'd be fun!"

"You think?"

"Yea! Why not? If they call you and you're nowhere near getting married, then just say no," Monica shrugged.

"Ooohh this is a little bit exciting," Phoebe said. "All right! I'll do it."

Monica grinned as she watched Phoebe talk to the woman and get her name added to the list. Now she just had to tell Joey.

Chandler & Joey

"Remind me why this is so important again?" Chandler asked, looking at all the other photos on the wall. He and Joey were in a dry cleaning place, and Joey was trying to get his photograph back on the wall.

"It's the Wall of Fame, Chandler. I belong up there with all the others," Joey explained. "I was up there once. Then I got booted off of Days, and my photo got taken down. I'm here to get it back up."

"Yes, but...a dry cleaner's place?" Chandler asked, wincing. "I mean, aren't there other, better places for your photo to go?"

"Huh," Joey said, thinking. "I never thought of it that way."

"Yes?" the owner asked, coming out.

"Oh! Joey Tribbiani. I used to be on Days of Our Lives," Joey said, showing his photo. "I have a new show, and I'd like to be put back on the Wall."

"What show?"

"Erm, it's not on TV yet."

"If it's not on TV, photo doesn't get put up," the owner said, shaking his head.

"What if I brought in a tape of it?" Joey asked. The owner just stared at him.

"Let's go, Joe," Chandler said.

"I'll be back!" Joey called over his shoulder as he left with Chandler.

"Sorry, man," Chandler said once they were on the street.

"It just sucks, you know? I work so hard, and he won't even put my picture up."

Chandler listened to his friend vent for a bit. He did feel bad for Joey. He was finally getting his career back up and running, and some dry cleaner guy couldn't even be bothered to put one picture on his wall? It was frustrating. Then, Chandler had an idea. It was a long shot, but it was worth a try. He'd do anything for his best friend.

Rachel & Ross

"Oof," Rachel said, grabbing her belly. Ross gave her a concerned look.

"You okay?" he asked.

"Yea. Baby's just giving me a good kick," Rachel answered. She was 30 weeks pregnant now, and the doctor had promised her things were looking great with the baby. She was scared of miscarrying, but since she had made it this far, she was feeling more confident. She was also assured by her doctor that the risks were lower the farther along she got.

"I wish we had asked the gender," Ross lamented.

"I thought you wanted to be surprised?" Rachel asked.

"I did, but now that our baby is getting closer to coming, I kinda want to know," Ross said, smiling apologetically.

"Well, I don't. I want to be surprised, so if you ask and find out, don't tell me," Rachel ordered.

"Okay," Ross agreed. He would wait for their next appointment to ask. They pulled up to Paul's cabin and parked.

"You sure you want to do this?" Ross asked, feeling afraid. "I still don't understand why Paul would invite us."

"We won't know until we go in, will we?" she countered. She pulled herself out of the car carefully. Ross went around to help her. It was hard to miss that she was pregnant now. They walked towards the cabin together. Before Ross could knock, the door was opened. He stared.

"Hey, Da-...Professor Geller?" Elizabeth asked, shocked. She looked at him and Rachel. "What...what are you doing here?"

"Your father invited us," Ross answered.

"He's not here..." Elizabeth said, confused. "Not yet anyway."

"See, this is his motive," Ross told Rachel. "If I'm here with his daughter, then he's got proof."

"What?" Elizabeth asked. "I don't understand."

"Neither do we, but can I come in and sit down? I'm carrying a baby, and it's getting heavier the longer I stand here," Rachel said.

"Oh, gosh! Yes, come in," Elizabeth said, moving aside. Ross was very careful not to accidentally touch her in any way. Elizabeth showed them to the couch, and they sat. She remained standing.

"So, your Dad is coming, right?" Rachel asked.

"Yea. With his girlfriend. That's who I thought you were," Elizabeth said. "I was here studying."

"Okay, well here's the thing," Rachel said. "Your father seems to think that you and my husband slept together."

"What?! No!" Elizabeth cried, outraged. "That never happened!"

"That's what I said!" Ross exclaimed.

"Simmer down, honey," Rachel said, patting his leg. "We know."

"Why would my father say that?" Elizabeth asked.

"He saw your doodling of my name in one of your books," Ross told her.

"And that means we slept together? I don't understand the connection," Elizabeth said.

"We don't either, but we are hoping to clear this up today," Rachel sighed. "Before my sister finds out and spreads it like it's the truth."

They heard another car approach and stop, car doors slamming after a moment.

"Well, I guess we'll get to figure this out right now," Elizabeth said, standing to go to the door. Ross was almost hyperventilating beside Rachel.

It was the moment of truth.

Monica & Joey

Joey went into Monica's apartment to look for something good to eat. She came out of her room once she heard him in there.

"Joey!" she said. He banged his head off the fridge, startled.

"Ow!" he yelped. He pulled his head all the way out then, looking at Monica. "A warning next time would be good."

"I found the perfect place for your wedding!" Monica cried, oblivious to his pain.

"You did? Where?!"

"The Morgan Chase museum!"

"Oh yea? Phoebe went there today. That's such a weird coincidence," Joey said.

"It's because we went there that we found it," Monica said impatiently. "I told her to put her name down on the waiting list."

"You did? And she did it?"

"Yea! I convinced her that because it was a two year wait, nothing might come out of it, so she put her name down."

"Wait, two years?" Joey asked, clarifying. "That's a long time. I was...I was hoping to be married before then."

"Well, when are you going to propose?" Monica asked.

"Soon."

"Okay, so then you have to take time to enjoy the engagement and plan the wedding. That could take two years," Monica said.

"I'm not following," Joey replied.

"It takes time to plan a wedding. You don't just slap one together and hope for the best," Monica said, annoyed.

"Really? What all do you plan for? You get a minister and say 'I do,'" Joey said.

"Oh my God you're hopeless," Monica moaned.

"What? What am I missing?"

"The food, the flowers, guests, the photographer, where you're having the wedding, where you're having the reception, a minister, the vows, a maid of honor, a best man, your honeymoon location..." Monica rhymed off.

"Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa!" Joey said, holding out his hands. "We gotta plan all that stuff?!"

"Yes!"

"That could take forever!"

"Two years isn't looking so bad now, is it?" Monica asked, smug.

"Okay, okay. Yea, it's looking good," Joey said, sweating a little. He had no idea how much work went into a wedding.

"When are we gonna go get the ring?" Monica asked.

"Soon," Joey promised.

"Joey!"

"I know! I'm nervous."

"Don't be nervous."

"Easy for you to say," Joey sighed.

"Let's plan to go next week," Monica said. "Okay?"

"Okay."

"Hey, Joe?" Chandler said, poking his head into the apartment.

"Yea?"

"I wanna show you something," he said. Joey looked between Monica and Chandler.

"Look, if it's about you guys, I don't want to see it. Mon, I'm sorry, but I know about you and Chandler."

"It's okay. Chandler told me you know," Monica admitted.

"So I've been pretending to not know for nothing?!" Joey said, outraged. "Thanks a lot, man."

"It showed me I could trust you," Monica said encouragingly. Joey's face changed to happy at this.

"Really?"

"Yea."

"Awww. That's so sweet," Joey smiled.

"Come on," Chandler urged. "I still have something to show you."

"We'll talk later," Joey said to Monica, who nodded. He followed Chandler out the door.

Ross & Rachel

Paul and Jill stopped in front of Ross and Rachel after they came inside the cabin. Elizabeth was standing with her arms crossed, looking at her father.

"Ah..." Paul said, looking at Jill. "You knew I was kidding when I said they were invited, right?"

"You were kidding?!" Jill asked. "Oh..."

"I knew this was weird," Ross chimed in.

"You think I slept with Professor Geller?" Elizabeth dove in.

"What? No..." Paul tried.

"He told me!"

"Ross..." Paul said, giving Ross a dirty look.

"It was actually me," Rachel said, getting to her feet. Paul took in her pregnant belly, and his eyes widened a little. Rachel was getting used to these looks. She had preferred it when she could wear baggy clothes and hide her baby bump and avoid people touching her or asking questions. If Jill had come into their lives now, she couldn't have hidden it as well as she had ten weeks earlier.

"Y-You?" Paul asked.

"Yea, me. Look, mister," Rachel said, getting a bit mad now. "You can't just accuse my husband of sleeping with your daughter. We are very, very happily married, you hear me? And we're having a baby! Ross has loved me since high school, and the idea of him straying with a...a child..."

"Hey!" Elizabeth cried.

"Sorry, sweetie, but you're what, 19?"

"Older than that," Elizabeth said, crossing her arms.

"Whatever. My point is, Ross is not interested in your daughter. I think it's safe to say that your daughter had what they call a crush, and you took it way too far from there. Maybe you should have asked her yourself about it before making wild accusations about my husband," Rachel finished. She was out of breath then, and her chest hurt a little. She exhaled sharply, rubbing her chest.

"Rach?" Ross asked, seeing her. "You okay?"

"I'm sorry," Paul said. "You're right. I did overreact. I...I didn't mean to cause any problems for you."

"Good," Rachel said.

"You thought Ross slept with Lizzie?" Jill asked Paul. She started to laugh. "Seriously?! Ross couldn't maintain two women."

"Rachel?" Ross asked, ignoring all of them. His wife was looking distressed suddenly.

"Hey, you all right?" Paul asked Rachel, seeing it too.

"I just...I need to sit down," Rachel said. She felt panic then. What was happening to her? Was it the baby? No, there was no pain in that area. Ross guided her to the couch, and Rachel struggled to breathe.

"Call an ambulance," Ross ordered. Paul hurried to do so. Elizabeth and Jill both stood looking afraid.

"Rach?" Jill asked. "Sis? You okay?"

Rachel didn't respond. She wasn't sure what was happening. She gripped Ross's hand tightly, and she prayed that nothing was going to happen to their baby.

Chandler & Joey

"Tada," Chandler said, gesturing. Joey stared at his face on the wall. They were in one of the fanciest restaurants in New York, and his head shot was on the wall along with other famous actors.

"What is this?" Joey asked, shocked.

"It's better than a dry cleaner's place, right?" Chandler grinned.

"How did you pull this off?" Joey asked, looking around.

"One of Monica's friends works here," Chandler answered. "She did me a favor."

"This is...this is amazing, Chandler," Joey said. He almost teared up. "You did this for me?"

"Of course! Like you said, you worked really hard, and you should be up on a wall. I just think this wall is better," Chandler finished. Joey threw his arms around Chandler then, giving him a tight hug.

"I love you, man," he said.

"Love you too," Chandler replied. Joey stood back and looked at his photo again, feeling so proud. Then, a woman came out to find Chandler.

"Hey! This is Monica's friend, Grace," Chandler said.

"Grace! Thank you for doing this for me," Joey said.

"You're welcome. Chandler, Monica is on the phone looking for you."

"Oh, okay."

Chandler had told Monica earlier that he was taking Joey there. He wondered why she was calling him.

"Hey," he said. "He loved it."

"Chandler," Monica interrupted, her voice tense and afraid. "Rachel's in the hospital."

"What?!"

"Come now. We...we're all here," Monica said.

"Okay. We're coming," Chandler said. "Is she all right?"

"We don't know."

"Okay. We'll be right there."

Chandler felt panicked as he went to get Joey. This couldn't be happening to Rachel again. His heart hurt for her. If she lost another baby, he didn't know if she'd recover.

"What's wrong?" Joey asked, seeing his face.

"Rachel is in the hospital. We gotta go," Chandler said.

"Oh my God. What happened?" Joey asked as they ran out of the restaurant.

"Don't know."

They hailed a cab, and Joey felt fear tighten his chest as they raced through traffic. He hoped Rachel was going to be all right.

At the Hospital

Rachel sat there in the hospital bed and wondered what they were going to tell her. Ross was holding her hand tightly, and she was trying to take even, deep breaths. She knew the others were out in the waiting room. Ross had called Monica, who had called the others.

"Okay," her doctor said, coming in then. "So you had some high blood pressure."

"That...that's it?" Ross asked.

"Yes. It caused the chest pain and difficulty breathing," the doctor explained. "Have you been under any stress lately?"

"I...I got upset with someone today over a misunderstanding," Rachel said. "Would that do it?"

"Any other stress?"

"Well...my sister came to live with us, and we had some ups and downs, but we're okay now. This misunderstanding has caused a bit of stress too. I also have been stressing about losing the baby."

"Okay, well, I'm going to need you to come back for another blood pressure test tomorrow to see if you have gestational hypertension. This could just be a one time incident, but if it's not, it could become a more serious issue because gestational hypertension can lead to preeclampsia. I'm going to need you to have some bed rest and lower your stress levels for now," the doctor went on.

"Okay," Rachel said, feeling like everything was muffled. High blood pressure? Preeclampsia? It all sounded so scary.

"You're good to go home," the doctor told her. "Get some rest, okay?"

When they were alone, Rachel looked at Ross.

"I hate Paul," Ross said.

"I shouldn't have got so worked up over it," Rachel told him. "It's okay. I can do bed rest. I will lower my blood pressure."

"I'm sorry. I got you worked up about it."

"It's okay, Ross. It's not your fault. I just want to go home now."

She let Ross help her up and get dressed. When they walked out, the others rushed towards them.

"Are you okay, Rach?" Monica asked, worried. She hugged her. Phoebe hugged her next.

"It was a case of high blood pressure. I'm to lie down for a bit," Rachel told them.

"So the baby is okay?" Joey asked.

"The baby is fine," Ross answered, nodding.

"Oh, thank God," Chandler said, grabbing at his chest.

"I can play you some relaxing music," Phoebe offered.

"Oh, thanks, sweetie, but I'm okay," Rachel said.

"We'll make sure you're stress free from now on," Joey promised. Rachel smiled at her friends. She was lucky they loved her and cared about her so much. They were all so relieved that the baby was okay.

"Thanks, you guys," she smiled. "I'm ready to go home now, Ross."

"Okay," Ross said. They all walked out together and got two cabs to stop. Ross and Rachel got into one while the others got into the other one.

"I was really scared," Rachel said as they drove away. Ross squeezed her hand.

"I know, but at least we know the baby is okay."

"Yea."

They got home, and they found Jill pacing in the apartment.

"Are you okay?!" she cried, rushing over. "I didn't come to the hospital because I can't do hospitals."

"It's okay. I'm okay. I've been ordered to have bed rest," Rachel said.

"The baby's okay?" Jill asked.

"Yes," Rachel nodded. Her sister hugged her tightly then.

"We are to keep Rachel as stress free as possible," Ross said, giving Jill a meaningful look.

"I'm not stressful," Jill objected.

"Right now you're not, but you can be sometimes," Ross pointed out. Jill stuck her tongue out at him.

"I'm going to bed now," Rachel announced before Ross and Jill could get into it further.

"Okay. I'm going to go back to Paul's cabin now that I know you're okay," Jill said.

"That's fine," Rachel nodded. It was better for her sister to be gone anyway. She was thinking that it might be time for Jill to leave soon, but Rachel dreaded having that conversation with her. She didn't want to hurt Jill's feelings. She climbed into bed, and Ross brought her magazines and books to read. When he went to make dinner, Rachel sat there thinking about what the best way was to tell Jill she had to leave.

Joey & Phoebe

"If you're still interested in the Buffay/Tribbiani wedding, a cancellation has come up..."

Joey stared at the answering machine as the message finished. Phoebe was horrified. She had her hands over her mouth.

"What was that?" Joey asked, playing a part. He didn't want Phoebe to guess he was going to propose to her. It was best to pretend to be freaked out.

"Nothing! It was stupid! Monica coached me into putting my name down for a wedding location, but I mean, we haven't even talked about our future. It was so stupid! Please don't freak out..." Phoebe said.

"Freaked out? Why would I be freaked out? My girlfriend is planning our wedding and not even telling me she's got a wedding location!" Joey yelped. He could tell his acting was working. Phoebe was getting upset.

"Joey..."

"I'm just...I'm not ready, Phoebs. I'm sorry."

"I know! It's okay. It was just a dumb thing I did," Phoebe said.

"I mean, one day we can talk about it, but not yet. I like what's going on here."

"Me too," Phoebe nodded eagerly. She went to hug him, and he accepted. "Let's just forget about it."

"Okay," Joey agreed. He smiled as he hugged her because he knew that she was going to be very surprised when he asked her to marry him.
