Part 2 - The Martez Sisters

Trace's P.O.V.

I woke up to start working on a speeder someone had brought in yesterday. It had been late at night, so the owner had agreed to pick it up later today.

After that I went to eat, then I returned to the shop.

Rafa called me ridiculous, but part of my routine now was cleaning Ahsoka's speeder bike. It definitely wasn't the best, but it was the one thing she left before going to help those mandalorians.

Rafa had agreed to keep it, as I suspect she had secretly grown fond of the, well, whatever Ahsoka is. Especially after she rescued us from the Pykes.

It had been a few months since she left, Rafa was starting to doubt her return, heck, I'm pretty sure she thinks she's dead, but she doesn't want to tell me.

But I know she's alive, I've seen her fight. And I figured it would take a while for her to come back, sure it wasn't the Clone Wars, but it she was still in a war. Or battle, I'm not sure what the difference is.

Rafa came back when I was just about done with Ahsoka's bike. She was very happy, so she probably just got a good deal with some client.

"What deal did you get this time?", I asked her.

"The Clone Wars are over!", she exclaimed happily.

Huh, I didn't think she would be so happy for something like that, but it is good news.

"They are?! How do you know?!", I asked.

"It's being announced all over the world!", she exclaimed.

"Not that I'm disappointed, but why are you so happy?", I asked, hiding my excitement. Or at least trying to. Maybe this means Ahsoka's battle will end soon too.

"This means we might be able to get better life! If the markets stabilize, we could live a level or two higher!", she said.

Hm, well it's not like I would know about that.

"Well, that's good. But won't that mean your, other businesses, will be closed down?", I asked.

"If we stop now, we won't get caught. And when everyone else gets caught, we will be the only option left, which means we'll have more profit", she said.

Not sure how that works, but Rafa's plans work, most of the time, so I trust her.

Then my world got slightly less bright.

Our client came to pick up his speeder, looking highly uncomfortable, "How can you be so happy?!", he scolded Rafa.

Rafa and I looked at him weirdly, "The war ended?", she said.

He huffed, "But at what cost? Our freedom?!", he declared.

Rafa and I looked at each other, confused. What could he possibly mean? What information am I missing?

"Look, I don't know what you're talking about, but your speeder is ready, if that's why your'e here", I said.

Well of course he's here for that, why else would he be here?

"The chancellor has turned the Republic into his own Empire! Nothing good can come out of this", he said, as he started to take out his credits.

"What? The senate nor the Jedi would allow him", Rafa said.

"He is the senate now. And the Jedi are dead, declared traitors and executed. We're all doomed!", he exclaimed as he paid me and took his speeder.

As I count the credits I realize something, "Hey, you paid me too much".

"Keep it, with your ignorance, you'll need the extra money", he said as he rode off.

Rafa and I looked at each other. An Empire? How could that happen.

I look back at Ahsoka's speeder. Could she…?

"Trace, I know you won't want to hear this but-", "I'm keeping the speeder here", I interrupted.

"She could be dead", she said.

"But she's not a Jedi anymore", I said. She shouldn't be declared a traitor!

"But she still held their ideals. Look, I'm not saying she's dead, but I don't think she'll risk coming back here", Rafa said.

I hate to admit that I was having similar thoughts, but I kept hope for my friend.

"Look, I'm going to go get some food, I'll be back later", said Rafa as she walked out of the shop. She'll be occupied for a few days while she figures out what all of this means for us.

An Empire and dead Jedi. That's something I didn't see coming.

I started to clean Ahsoka's already clean speeder and drifted off. I've seen her fight, she'll make it.

I still hold hope for my friend.

A/N: While the Martez sisters weren't a big addition to the show, I still liked them, and I just got to imagining what they would think if they found out about Order 66. I think I did a pretty decent job, I'm quite satisfied with it. The only sad part for Trace is that its unlikely that she'll ever see Ahsoka again in cannon. Anyways, thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed it.
