CH. 1
It was a busy day in Jump City, California. The Titans had broken up three bank robberies, four hostage situations, fifteen cats in a tree, three CPR situations, seven car accidents; five HIVE Five instances, and one Slade robbery. Exhaustion made everyone cranky and tired, so the Titans were relaxing. Robin and Starfire were cuddling on one end of the couch, while Raven read a book on the other. Cyborg was in the kitchen making an extra large sandwich while Beast Boy was busy making a vegan soup for his lunch. As they settled into their relaxation time, thoughts strayed to personal matters. Robin and Starfire were both whispering sweet nothings and giggling. Beast Boy was thinking about the newest game that would be coming out the next month and Cyborg was wondering how much more meat he could add to his sandwich before it lost its structural integrity. Raven was thinking about the latest trouble she was having with her emotions.
At seventeen years old, her thoughts and feelings were being fueled by hormones now more than ever. She was almost a legal adult by Earth's standards and whether she liked it or not, her thoughts were going to her future. She had a better hold on her emotions and powers, allowing her to indulge in what she wanted. The current target of her indulgence were feelings of attraction and desire. She peeked over the rim of her book ever so slightly to stare at Beast Boy. She couldn't understand why it was him; why she had to have feelings about the clown of the team. Sure he was handsome… and rugged now that he had also grown up a bit. She blushed at her fantasies of being wrapped in his muscular arms and held tightly but gently. Raven raised the book to hide her blushing face and the smile of contentment at the idea. As the hypothetical hearts popped over her head, Cyborg's wrist began to beep gently.
"Raven," he called through a mouthful of food, "Can you check the door?" Raven dogeared her book and phased through the floor without a word. She arrived at the door and pressed the button that would open the gigantic double doors that kept the outside world out. A loud hiss filled the air as the pneumatic doors slowly opened revealing an almost mirror image of herself. The mirror image had her pale skin, tidy haircut, deep violet eyes, and lean figure. The differences were vast enough to show this wasn't her. Her eyes were bright instead of indifferent, her mouth curved upward into a happy smirk, and her clothes were normal. Raven was horrified to see that they were form fitting and showed too much skin. Her black boots went all the way to her knees, covering her pants.
"What do you want?" Raven growled, attempting to let this scantily clad individual know she wasn't welcome. The mirror image smiled mischievously and put one hand on her hip before cocking it to the side.
"Come on Rae, is that any way to greet your twin sister?" she teased. Though her sister gave off a friendly and fun vibe, Raven knew how dangerous she was. Her sister was a high functioning sociopath and to let her in with her teammates was beyond dangerous.
"Crow, you don't belong here. I am going to tell you only once, leave or I will make you," Raven said snapped. Crow only continued to smile, though her eyes were no longer bright.
"Now Raven, I am your older sister," she started as she slowly drew nearer.
"By two measly seconds," Raven replied nastily.
"I have searched far and wide to find you again," Crow continued. She was in the foyer and standing in front of Raven with a blank face and emotionless eyes. She continued quietly, her voice barely above a whisper, "You slipped away and thought you had gotten away. We belong together Raven… we are sisters. I can smell your friends coming to see what is taking you so long. Introduce me nicely and things wont have to get… ugly." She took a large step back and her face transformed back into a smiling, fun sister. Robin came around the corner with the others close in tow.
"Raven, are you okay?" he asked with concern. His eyes met Crow's and he halted. They stared at one another for a few seconds before Robin's face broke into a smile.
"Raven," he said happily and continued forward, "You never told us you had a sister." When Raven remained silent, Crow extended her arm to shake hands.
"Crow," she said with a toothy smile, "I'm Raven's twin sister. And I am not surprised that she hasn't spoken of me. She is always so secretive." She laughed lightly, drawing chuckles from Cyborg and Beast Boy.
"Raven, why have you not spoken of your wonderful sister before?" Starfire gushed as she flew forward to shake Crow's hand. She clasped Crow's in both of hers and shook heartily, jostling the young half demon. Crow brought her hand back and massaged it gently with an unsure smile.
"Quite a grip you got there," she said politely. Starfire beamed happily as Robin continued his conversation with her.
"What brings you to Jump City?" he asked kindly. Crow smiled once more and wrapped her arms around Raven. Raven looked less than thrilled to be touched by her sister.
"Why, to check up on my little sis of course!" she chirped happily and planted a huge kiss on Raven's cheek, "I haven't seen her in years! She is hard to find, this one."
"Apparently not hard enough," she growled as she tried to get her sister off of her. Robin spread his arms and offered the one thing Raven had been dreading.
"Do you have a place to stay? We have plenty of rooms if you want to stay here." Raven tried to amend the situation but her sister spoke up before she could.
"I would absolutely love to stay here with you guys!" she shouted happily. She turned to Raven and hugged her again, "Isn't that great Rae? We can be together again!" Raven's blood ran cold as she was released.
"Yippee," she said with as much venom as she could muster.
"Raven will show me to my room, thanks so much for letting me stay here," Crow said as she wrapped an arm around Raven. The others left the two sisters to themselves as they began their walk to the elevator. After the doors closed behind them and it began to ascend, Crow turned her scowling face to her sister.
"If you had done as I said earlier, I wouldn't have had to earn their trust myself," she snapped. Raven showed no emotion to her sister's anger, but instead gazed at the elevator doors with a blank face.
"Doesn't matter," Crow continued with a self satisfied smile, "I will have them eating out of the palm of my hand in no time." Raven once again said nothing; her sister was trying to prod for information and get her riled up.
"That Beast Boy is kind of a hunk, isn't he?" she asked. Raven's poker face slipped as her lip twitched, showing anger on her face for no more than a nanosecond. Crow caught it and her face split into a vicious smile.
"Oh, this is rich," she goaded with mad glee, "You love him, don't you?!"
Raven knew that denying would only make things worse, but she also didn't want to admit it. Admitting her affection for Beast Boy would be like handing her very soul to her sister, so she remained quiet. Her sister snickered and slapped her on the back playfully before possessively holding the back of Raven's neck.
"This is going to be fun," she sighed happily, "It's been a long time since I could play with you." Raven swatted her hand away and rounded on her sister just as the door opened to the floor with all the bedrooms.
"I am not the weak and helpless child I once was," she snarled quietly, "I have more control on my powers and emotions than I ever have and I refuse to let you use me like a toy. If you do anything to me or my teammates, I will come down on you harder than a meteorite crashing into a planet." She left the elevator, leaving her sister to fume in silence. Crow followed once she had regained some composure and caught up to Raven just as she stopped in front of a pair of automatic doors. They hissed open as the two approached, showing an empty room with only a bed, dresser, and private bathroom.
"You will be residing in this room for the remainder of your stay," Raven said with her usual monotone as she gestured to the door, "If there is anything you need, please, I beg you to hesitate in asking." Crow looked into her sister's eyes and smiled, though there was no happiness in it.
"You sadden me Raven," she said in a matching monotone, "All I want is your love and affection."
"Whatever," Raven said and left Crow to herself, walking to her own room two doors down. Crow entered her own room and manually closed and locked the doors. She breathed deep and long, taking in the scents that were faint but still there from years past. Much had happened in this room, but it appeared as if it was never occupied. Thick carpets of dust resided in the bathroom, on the dresser, and on the bed. With a wave of her hand, the dust all collected to a single point an inch above her pointer finger. It didn't take long for it all to accumulate; when it did she simply waved her hand once and it was all gone. Crow walked to the window and levitated in the same meditation stance as Raven and closed her eyes. This was always her favorite part of infiltration: scheming.
Raven had disobeyed her and seemed to be self sufficient with her teammates. Crow knew that without them, she would crumble; Beast Boy was the key to all of this. A genuine smile broke across her face, showing her white teeth. Raven would soon be back in the palm of her hand and doing her bidding like she used to, because together, they could take this world for Crow.
Raven flopped down on her bed and rubbed her temples with a groan of exasperation. She had to talk to Robin and tell him what he had just done. She sent a mental call for him to come to her room immediately and waited. Not long after she sent it, the knock came as expected. Raven got to her feet, crossed the room, and opened the door to see the very person she had been waiting for.
"May I come in?" Robin asked politely. Raven gestured for him to enter and he did. Once the door was secure, she turned to speak to him.
"Robin, there is something you must know about my sister," She started. Robin raised a hand to silence her and smiled.
"I know," he said, "I could see it in her eyes. I played dumb and invited her in so that we could keep an eye on her." Raven wasn't convinced.
"Robin, even that is extremely dangerous. You think Slade is bad? Crow is worse… much worse. Her intellect is higher than yours, mine, or even Slade's. She is a high functioning Sociopath, and that is not an insult, it's the truth," Raven was deeply worried, "You know how I feel about Beast Boy I am sure." Robin nodded.
"Naturally," he said, "It isn't hard to miss, though I think I am the only one who has noticed."
"She will go after him to hurt me and to bring me under her thumb. She wants my power so she can use it for her own desires. We have to make her leave. It is too dangerous for her to be anywhere near here," Raven sat on her bed and put her head in her hands. Robin approached and laid a hand on her shoulder.
"I informed everyone while you were showing her to her room. They all know to be wary of her and to report to me if she does anything out of the ordinary. We can handle this Raven," Robin said, trying to put as much confidence in his voice as he could muster. Raven looked up at her leader and sighed lightly.
"I hope so Robin… I really do."
I know it is a little short, but I hope you enjoyed it. Crow is not cannon to the Teen Titans. She is my OC that I created simply for this story. I will try to keep some buffer to the story so that I can post at regular times. I am hoping for once a week or once every two weeks. I am trying to make Crow as close to an actual Sociopath as possible. I am not perfect so I may mess up here and there. So far I think I have it. Let me know your thought and opinions, and please, constructive criticism only.
