Chapter One
"Harriet!" Sela cupped her hands around her mouth, screaming my name. I hid behind a bush not far from her, giggling. I watched as her head whipped in my direction. She ran towards me, causing me to shriek in laughter as she picked me up and brought me back inside, bridal style. I looked at her and noticed the proud smirk on her face.
The Tal Shair around us smiled and watched. They knew how much I meant to their Empress, and it made them smile she was now happy. Well, not everyone was happy, which was the statement of the day.
Once we reached Sela's private quarters, she gently put me down. Putting my hands around her neck, I leaned forward. The Human-Romulan Hybrid leaned her head forward too and we shared a passionate kiss. It was rudely interrupted by a cold Colonel; Hakeev.
"Empress. You are needed" His eyes lingered on me, but said nothing more. He knew what happened the last time a Tal Shair threatened me in front of Sela. It didn't end well.
Resting her forehead on mine, we stayed like that for what seemed like forever. Finally, with a heavy sigh, she stood back. She kissed the back of my hand and gave me an almost unnoticeable wink. Blushing, I watched as she left the room, her hands behind her back, as Colonel Hakeev followed her. I knew what that was implying. And gods help me, I was even going to stand upright the following morning.
"So, hide-and-seek, eh?" My best friend wiggled her eyebrows. I choked on my drink, causing Roma to snort. The surrounding Tal Shair stared at us with confusion.
I looked around, causing them to continue to their own conversations. If anyone was caught eavesdropping on us, would face Sela's wrath. Simply thanks to the rumors. You didn't want to piss her off based on off-timely rumors.
"Oh my god! It wasn't like that" I whispered. Rame' just snorted in disbelief and shook her head.
"Please. Even the dumbest Tal Shair like Jakobe could figure that one out" She pointed behind her. The Tactical Romulan whipped around and was about to snap a comeback.
He growled and turned around, seeing the Empress walking towards us.
"Hello, my love" She smiled and sat down beside me. She then placed her hand tenderly on my back.
"Hello, honey. I'm just about finished up here" I replied, smiling at her. Sela only smiled back and watched as I returned to my conversation with Roma. She knew how important she and Jakobe were as my best friends. She practically allowed them to get away with murder.
"So, what were you and Roma discussing?" Sela asked. I was getting ready for bed when she walked in, arms behind her back. I sighed and gently shook my head with a smile.
"We were just gossiping like best friends always do" I replied softly. I got up from the chair and walked over to her. Wrapping my arms around her neck, I gently ran my hands through her soft blonde hair. The motion caused her to purr. Giggling, I stepped on my tippy toes and kissed her on her nose.
"I love you, my Warrior Queen" I whispered.
She gently pushed me back against the counter and started to passionately kiss me. Moaning and smiling into the kiss, I started gently rubbing her cheeks. As she started gently kissing and sucking on my neck, I thought back to how I met her, and why I chose to stay with the Romulans.
