(8)-2nd Road Trip.

The Next Day...

Clare was coming out of her house with three duffle-bags filled with her clothes and carried them to the back of the open trunk of her station wagon where she placed them inside, closed the trunk and got inside the driver's seat of the vehicle.

Clare couldn't aford to stay in Chicago any longer due to Tommy's father being back home-as he would and had most likely alerted the authorities of her being back in town-so she decided to get out of the state of Illinois and go on a road trip to find out more about this Heaven's thing.

Clare had stayed at a motel to rest up for the night. She knew she needed to get out of Chicago, but she had been constantly awake and on the go since the disappearances two nights prior. And she knew she wouldn't be able to find out what happened to Tommy and the other missing people if she didn't get any rest.

She then started her car and began driving off, but then a vehicle drove onto Clare's house property and out of it came Rayford Steele and his 20-year old daughter, Chloe.

Clare stopped her car and Rayford and Chloe went up to it and she rolled down her window.

"Clare, where have you been?" Rayford asked.

"Why didn't you call?" Chloe asked.

"I thought you had left the state again." Said Rayford.

"Why didn't you call us?" Chloe asked.

"I'm sorry, Chloe." Said Clare.

"Clare did we do something?" Chloe asked.

"You might think that this is silly, Chloe...but i had a terrible dream. I dreamed that Jesus Christ came to Earth and took Tommy and millions of people to Heaven and left the rest of us behind." Said Clare.

"Well, what were you doing in Los Angeles?" Chloe asked.

"Hiding out with Tommy and protecting him from his abusive father. That's where i've been with Tommy for the past year. Then one night after i put Tommy to bed...i dreamed that the Rapture had taken place." Said Clare.

"The Rapture?" Chloe asked, confused.

"You remember, the Rapture. Your Mom told us about-"

"Yeah." Said Chloe, cutting Rayford off.

"At the end of my dream, Tommy and the millions of missing people were in Heaven and went into it's golden city." Said Clare.

"But Clare, it was only a stupid dream. This is funny. You getting upset over a dream?" Said Chloe.

"Yeah, well, that stupid dream came true." Said Rayford.

"I know, but the part where Jesus came to Earth and took all of the missing people to Heaven didn't happen. I mean...can you imagine a dead guy coming to Earth and taking all of the missing people to Heaven and leaving the rest of us behind? That's rediculous." Said Chloe.

"I know, but i dreamt that Tommy and millions of other people were taken off the face of the Earth. And when i woke up in the middle of the night, everything that i had dreamt had come true." Said Clare.

"Clare...are you telling us that Tommy-"

"Yes." Clare answered, cutting Chloe off. "Tommy's gone, like Raymie and all the rest of the children under teenhood.

"Gee, i'm sorry, Clare. But i want you to know that...if you ever need us...give us a call." Said Chloe.

"Please, i have to go." Said Clare.

"But Clare, where are you going?" Rayford asked.

"I don't know where." Clare answered.

"Will you at least call?" Rayford asked.

"Yes, i promise i'll call." Said Clare.

"Is there anything we can do?" Chloe asked.

"No, thank you." Said Clare before rolling up her window.

Rayford and Chloe got back in his car, closed their doors, and drove off.

Clare then drove off her house property, beginning her second road trip.
