Mother's Day cookies

(Amu's pov)

I woke up the day before Mother's Day thinking that I would make something special for my Mom. I know that my mom loves pink and sugary stuff, so I guess I'll make her cookies. I knew how to make some really good chocolate chip cookies so, I guess that's the winning flavor.

I walked downstairs into the kitchen and started gathering all the ingredients to make the cookies. As I gathered everything, I started thinking, I'm 18, and I just finished my final year of school. Ikuto came back about 2 years ago and we have been an unofficial couple since then. He is 4 years older than me and I did not want him to get in trouble dating a 16-year-old. Suddenly, the doorbell rang bringing me out of my thoughts.

"Chottomatte! I yelled as I set my ingredients on the counter and ran to the door. When I opened the door, Ikuto was standing there smiling.

"Hi Amu, want to go to the park today? I brought lunch" he said holding up a picnic basket.

"Generally, I would say yes Ikuto" I told him looking down. "Demo, I started baking just now for Mother's Day and I can't really leave a mess. Do you want to come in and bake cookies with me? I asked him hopefully.

Ikuto smiled and said "As long as I get to spend the day with you, I'll do anything you want" then he kissed my cheek and walked into the kitchen with me, placing his picnic basket on the table.

"So, what kind are baking?" he asked. "Chocolate chips cookies" I said. "First I need to make the chips though, Mam's favorite color is pink, so I'm going to flavor them with strawberries and add them to the melted white chocolate to make them pink and form them into mini chips" I told him as I cut the strawberries into pieces and put them in a sauce pan with some sugar.

"Ikuto, would you start a pot and filled it water and put it on the stovetop?" I asked him as the strawberries finished cooking. "I'll get me the white bark and glass bowl" I said. Then when the water is perfect, I'll be able to melt everything together and finally be able to start on the cookie dough" I explained to Ikuto.

"You have sure come a long way from the fruit tart in elementary school Amu" he told me as he completed the tasks requested.

Once everything was combined, I had strawberry vanilla flavored chocolate chips cooling in the refrigerator and started the dough.

"Are you going to do something to this as well?" Ikuto asked me while staring at the sprinkles, "Or is going to be normal?"

"You my dear Ikuto should know better" I said bopping his nose with my mixing spoon. I made the dough normally but added in rainbow colored sprinkles and by the time we were done, so were the chips.

"I got the oven" Ikuto told me and preheated it to 375 degrees F. I smiled as I put 2 tester cookies on the sheet and waited for the oven to warm.

"Hey Ikuto, what did you bring for lunch?" I asked as I walked over to his basket. "I didn't get to eat this morning before I started baking" I said as I opened started to open the basket.

"Amu, please don't open it yet" Ikuto asked me softly from behind me. "I had the whole day planned, and I don't mind that said plans can change, but for me, please wait to open the basket" he said as he hugged me from behind.

"I know I am curious as to what's in there, but I'll wait Ikuto" I told him as I turned and gave him a hug then pulled him down to kiss him but the timer beeped. "Be right back" I said pulling away and started baking the cookies.

For the next 2 hours we baked sheet after sheet of cookies and until finally they were done.

"Thank you Ikuto, now can we eat food?" I asked him while starring at the basket. "There's only so much sweets you can eat before you need real food."

"We can go to your balcony and eat" he suggested. "Sure" I replied. "After we clean up the mess, my mother always tells me that she doesn't care if we make one but we better clean it up. I choose not to challenge her on Mother's Day."

After about 30 minutes, we finally made it to the balcony, and I put a blanket down so that we weren't sitting on cold wood.

Ikuto was taking thigs out of his basket and still wouldn't let me see inside it but at this point I didn't care. I was too hungry to think about it. We had baked chicken sandwiches with potato salad and cottage cheese.

"Amu, I know that you're only 18, and I know that I have been able to live on my own and be my own person since I was freed from Easter 5 years ago, but I have an important question for you" He started to ask me. "I want you to know that from the time that you were 12 years old, I was always drawn to you. I knew from when helped me in the alley, that you were meant for me. Your heart is so caring that you feel everyone else's pain as your own and then you try to fix it. I know that I don't deserve you, and I know that we aren't even officially dating, but I love you Amu" Ikuto told me.

He pulled a small box out of the basket and opened it. There was a small ring with blue, pink, and white gems in the middle of a heart. On the band, it had our name engraved around it with together forever on the inside of the band.

"Amu, will you please marry me?" Ikuto asked me. I looked at him and started crying.

"Yes Ikuto, I will marry you. I have loved you for 6 years, of course I will" I told him while kissing him. He kissed me back and he put the ring on my finger.

By the time we left the balcony, my family was back and Ikuto would have to go home. We told my parents that he had me to marry him and they supported us. I told my mom that I was tired and lead Ikuto to the door. I gave him a hug and a kiss, and he left. But I knew that he would be in my room by the time I made it back there. I was glad that Ikuto came to help me bake today, I was soon going to have all my dreams come true.

I knew that I would soon get to be called Tsukiyomi Amu I thought as I walked back to me room. When I opened the door, I saw him sitting on my bed with a smile on his face.

The End
