The Hex Series Five Part Two.

Down the Australian highway a caravan of cars and vans drove along the interstate led by a red muscle car.

Their final destination Vampire Rock.

Two hours later the convoy made it to the Vampire Rock music festival.

A blonde woman got out of the lead car, throwing her aviator sunglasses onto the driver's seat.

"Sisters!" the blonde woman called. "You know what to do."

Various woman of all shapes and sizes got out of their vehicles and immediately pulled their signs out the trunk.

"Whoa, you people can't park there!" Russel shouted when he saw them.

"We can." The blonde woman corrected.

"I'm Jenn Summers, President of MAR." the blonde woman said introducing herself.

Russel raised an eyebrow. "MAR?"

"Mothers Against Rock." Jenn said clarifying.

"And your business at our festival?" a dark skinned man asked.

"I'm Malcom, I'm Russel's business partner." Malcom said.

"Nice to meet you, we are here to protests this devil's music and satanic gathering."

"And once we learned that The Hex Girls would be playing, we knew at once that we had to stop their music from corrupting our children, especially after we learned that it would be broadcasted onto the internet."

Malcom raised his hands, "ladies, I assure you it's just music they aren't really witches or devil worshippers."

"We can speak for ourselves." Thorn said coming up behind them and crossing her arms.

"Yeah, and we don't need your approval." Dusk said getting inches from Jenn.

"And were Eco goths kind of like wiccans not witches." Luna said clarifying.

"Sorry, we're just trying to help." Russel said.

Visibly uncomfortable Jenn stepped back a few inches from Dusk.

Dusk smirked as her plan worked.

"Come on sisters, we need to get back to rehearsal." Thorn said as she started walking back towards the stage.

Dusk gave Jenn a final smirk before following Thorn, Luna gave them the devil horns before turning on her heel walking towards the stage.

Shaggys brow twinkled with sweat, his breathing hitched and his eyes went wide. Before he laid his cards down on the table in triumph. Shaggy had gotten twenty one.

The man opposite of him grumbled before folding his cards and leaving the table in defeat.

"Lookee here Scoob." Shaggy said as he put the pile of money into his pocket.

Scooby gave Shaggy a thumbs up, before returning to sniffing the ground, it was here he could feel it in his bones.

Velma feeling glad with her purchases, held them tight to her chest. Velma walked behind Fred and Daphne as they held hands.

The group made their way to the Hex Girls tent.

"Should we knock?" Fred asked Daphne.

Daphne put her hands on her hips, "on a tent?"

"Thorn! Dusk! Luna!" Velma shouted outside their tent, they got a cough in response before the zipper came down and Quinn poked his head out.

"What? My sisters aren't here." Quinn said.

"We actually came to see you." Daphne informed him.

"Why?" Quinn asked bewilderment in his voice.

"Back in the old days, I was a nurse in training before I realized it wasn't something I wanted to do for the rest of my life." Daphne began.

"Hurry up." Quinn said crossing his arms and interrupting Daphne.

"Anyway." Daphne continued looking annoyed. "I bought you these." She pulled out a few leaves and stems.

"One's a fever reducer and cough suppressant, the other two are supposed to help you sleep." Daphne explained before putting the herbs into Quinn's hand.

"Thanks." Quinn said giving her a genuine smile.

"What are you guys doing here?" Luna asked from behind them.

"Well, I was a nurse in training before joining mystery Inc. so I thought I might check up on Quinn here and give him something for his illness." Daphne explained when she turned and faced Luna.

"What are you doing here, Lun?" Quinn asked her.

"I forgot my lucky pick." Luna explained as she went into the tent and grabbed what she was seeking.

"And uh thanks." Luna murmured.

"No problem." Daphne said smiling with mirth.

"Come on Freddie, my show's getting ready to come on, and we've got a few hours to kill before The Hex Girls perform." Daphne said before grabbing Fred by the hand and leading him back to the Mystery Machine.

That night as the Hex Girls were putting the finishing touches on their makeup and costumes and getting ready to go on, when Thorn knelt down to examine Quinn.

"If your fever doesn't break soon, we might actually have to bring you to a doctor." Thorn said as she felt Quinn's forehead.

"No! You know how much I hate doctors and especially their needles." Quinn yelled.

"That's irrelevant if you die." Thorn pointed out.

"Well how is my fever supposed to break if it's like a hundred degrees' outside?" Quinn asked.

Dusk snorted, "Its currently sixty degrees outside with some heavy wind."

"Yeah, it's pretty windy, hopefully it calms down enough we can use our explosions." Luna said poking her head outside.

"Just drink the tea, have some water and try to sleep. Okay? Thorn said. As she got up from where she knelt and headed outside and towards the stage.

Dusk ruffled Quinn's hair before leaving as well.

"Luna, can you hold on a second?" Quinn asked.

"Sure, what's up?" Luna asked.

"Just uh good luck out there." Quinn said.

"Thanks." Luna said as she gave him a smile.

The trio made the short walk to the massive stage and a humongous crowd stood waiting. Their anticipation barely contained. Thorn could feel an electricity in the air, the crowd's excitement coming in waves and crashing into her.

"Ready sisters?" Thorn asked.

Luna gave a nod and Dusk flashed her fangs.

Smoke machines pumped out thick grey smoke from under Dusk's drum stand and the stage lighting went wild with a multicolored attack of lights as each member of the Hex Girls faces shown on the jumbotron.

Two orbs of explosions went boom as The Hex Girls started who do voodoo.

"Who do voodoo?" Thorn sang.

"We do." Luna and Dusk sang in unison.

"It's time to celebrate, come feel our magic." Thorn continued singing.

"With this here little voodoo doll, you'll be controlled to our dark desires."

Dusk slowed down her drums mimicking a steady heartbeat, and Thorn pulled out a little makeshift voodoo doll. A dark clothed man appeared on stage seeming being controlled by Thorn's voodoo doll. Thorn poked its midsection and the man writhed in pain and fell to the stage floor, Thorn held the doll upright and the man sprung to his feet, mimicking the motions Thorn did to the doll.

After Thorn had her way with the doll, she threw it into the air and the black clothed man shot into the air disappearing into the black night.

MAR protesters shouted their protests about how rock music corrupted their youth, how this satanic gathering wouldn't go unnoticed, and how god was on their side.

"This ones' for all you lovebirds out there." Thorn said into the microphone.

Pillars of fire ignited on stage instantly drying Thorn from her sweat as she began to play the notes. Laser orbs began to spin and spit greens reds and blues, the jumbotron turned into a giant lava lamp.

"Your unfeeling heart, imprisons me." Thorn sang.

"Carless eyes too blind to see." Thorn continued walking around the stage slapping a few fans hands.

Luna went stage left, her bass becoming a dragon shooting hot flames out of its neck, Dusk's drum platform rose high into the air, its bass covered in red neon.

Explosions of pyrotechnics shattered the audience out of their trance as high above the stage a monstrous form of a vampire appeared its tendrils of smoke reaching down onto the stage and curling tight around the band members, Thorn swung her guitar but the vampire minion caught it with one hand and crushed it with ease and threw the splinters aside.

White hot smoke forced its way into each of the Hex Girls mouths, they couldn't breathe! Black spots appeared at the end of their vision. The last thing Thorn saw before she passed out was the shiny chrome of the vampire's fangs as his mouth snarled into a smile.

"OH MY GOD!" Velma shouted. Velma shook Fred and Daphne out of their trance at making kissy faces at each other.

"Velma, don't ruin the mood!" Daphne said as she shot daggers at the other woman.

"Sorry, Daphne but The Hex Girls just got bandnapped!" Velma said pointing to the now empty stage.

Fred rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "You sure it wasn't part of the show?"

"Let's go backstage and see for ourselves then." Velma said starting forwards not bothering to see if her friends were behind her.

With their black back stage passes the group was able to get pass security. The whole place was a buzz of activity as personnel and security was rushing about, when Mystery Inc. saw The Hex Girls manager, yelling into his cellphone. "Just find them!" before snapping it shut.

"Do you remember us? Mr. Boggs?" Daphne asked as they approached him.

The fortyish English man took of his rim colored glasses, "Crystal Cove, right?"

"That's us." Fred agreed.

"Was it real? The Hex Girls getting kidnapped? Or was it part of the show?" Velma asked cutting straight to the point.

Their manager let out a heavy sigh. "Unfortunately, they were bandnapped."

"Don't worry Mr. Boggs, we'll find them!" Daphne said.

With that Mystery Inc. left the backstage area and began to look for clues.

Fred, Daphne and Velma made their way to The Hex Girls tent.

"Quinn! Wake up." Velma shouted.

Daphne unzipped the tent and shown her phone light in the dark tent. "Thorn? Is that you?" Quinn asked groggily.

"No sweetie. It's Daphne." Daphne answered.

Quinn shot up from the sleeping bag. "Where's Thorn?"

"Well, were going to talk about, you see while the girls were on stage. They were kidnapped by some sort of monster vampire." Daphne explained.

Quinn shook his head no and stood up in the big tent and started pacing back and forth, "I should've said something before they got on stage."

"Quinn what are you talking about?" Velma asked.

Quinn sighed. "Before my sisters went on stage I had this very bad feeling something horrible was gonna happen and it did."

Quinn put his arms around Daphne and cried into her shoulder. Daphne awkwardly patted his shoulder.

"Quinn we'll find them, we promise. But you need to help us, can you think of anyone who would want to hurt your sisters?" Velma asked.

Quinn huffed and wiped his tears. "Besides the Phantom? You could try talking to MAR. Thorn was telling me that they had gotten into an argument earlier today."

"Mar?" Fred asked.

"It stands for moms against rock or something. They think rock music will turn their youth into devil worshippers and sadists. They got a camp on the other side of the festival."

"Alright, we'll go talk to them." Daphne said.

"I'll stay here." Quinn said and sat back down.

The mystery Inc. left the tent and went to the MAR encampment.

Since the vampire attack left the festival in such chaos all the restaurants and shops had closed for the rest of the night. On the way to the Mar encampment Mystery Inc. ran into a blonde haired man.

"Who are you?" Velma asked the man.

"Russel Davis." The man answered. "My business partner and I after seeing what happened to The Hex Girls, decided we would lend a hand and help with the search."

"Speak of the devil, here comes my business partner Malcom." Russel said.

After shaking each member of Mystery Inc. hands. "What do you know of Mar?" Fred asked Malcom.

"Not much I'm afraid, they arrived earlier in the day, had an argument with The Hex Girls and they've been taking up prime real estate ever since." Malcom answered.

"I feel terrible about all this, maybe we should've postponed the festival until all of this was sorted out." Malcom said.

"Wait this happened before?" Fred asked.

Malcom nodded, "we just thought, the pressure was too much for them and they put on a show of being kidnapped and used it as an excuse so they could save face and quit."

Following the conversation with Malcom and Russel Mystery Inc. made their way to the mar encampment.

As they got closer they could hear religious hymns and singing in Latin, posters with anti-rock and pseudo-science were scrawled onto the makeshift signs.

Velma rolled her eyes at the false science propaganda.

Trailers and tents lined up neatly into a straight row. Fred knocked fiercely onto the first trailer a few seconds later and the door swung inward revealing a petite blonde woman. "Can I help you?" she said expectantly.

"Yes, we are looking for the leader of Mar." Fred said.

"You found her." The woman said. "I'm Jenn Summers." The woman said extending her hand.

"We had some questions about the kidnapping of The Hex Girls." Velma said.

"Fire away." Jenn said.

"Did you kidnap them?" Fred asked.

Jenn scoffed. "Why would I waste my time kidnapping a pair devil worshippers?"

"That's why we're asking." Daphne said.

"Tell you what? Why don't you search Vampire Rock for clues instead harassing us, about a pair of sluts?" Jenn yelled before slamming the door in their faces.

"That was rude." Daphne shouted at the wooden door.

"Well gang, looks like were going rock climbing." Fred said

"With all the commotion I just now noticed, but where is Shaggy and Scooby?" Daphne asked the group.

Fred shrugged his shoulders, "probably stuffing their faces, full of funnel cake."

Several hours later

Inside the dark monstrous mountain hidden behind thick layers of stone and dirt bound and gagged on the stone floor laid The Hex Girls.

The lead minion with his dark costume and skull like face paced around the small earthen room. His compadre hung upside down from the celling asleep.

"Mmmmmhmm" Thorn said trying to talk from behind her gag.

"What?" the vampire hissed.

Thorn tried again, this time the lead minion tore off her gag, Thorn coughed and spit. "I said, why did you freaks kidnap us?"

The vampire shrugged. "We need your blood. We want to turn human again and die."

"Let me explain, you can call me Dark Skull. Two hundred years ago, my brothers and I were cursed to become vampires by a witch, a very powerful witch." Dark Skull began.

"Hold on." Thorn said interrupting Dark Skull. "I would've thought it would be awesome to be vampires. Sleep all day, party all night. Never grow old and never die."

"Don't interrupt again!" Dark Skull shouted as he smacked Thorn across her cheeks.

"Your right, it was fun for the first two centuries but my brothers and I have lived several lifetimes and were bored of it, we earn for death and we want to see what's next." Dark Skull said.

"Then why don't you just go outside and burn?" Thorn asked.

Dark Skull shrugged his shoulders, "if there is a god, I don't want to add more sins. I hear he frowns on suicide."

"Then why kidnap us?" Thorn asked.

"Because we need your blood, we need a wiccan, who's vanquished an evil witch." Dark Skull said as he pointed to Thorn.

"A descendent of a genuine voodoo priestess." Dark Skull pointed to Luna.

"And finally we need a descendent of royal vampire blood." Dark Skull pointed to Dusk.

"Who's her ancestor?" Thorn asked when Dark Skull pointed to Dusk.

"After all these centuries I can still smell the stench of Tepes running through her veins."

Thorn furrowed her eyebrows, trying to piece together where she heard that name from, a lightbulb clicked on in her head. "You mean to say Dusk is descended from Vlad Dracula?"

Dark Skull nodded yes.

"So for this spell, you need our blood and what else?" Thorn asked.

"A unicorn's horn and a gold coin from a leprechaun, so we could pay for the knowledge on how we can reverse this and die." Dark Skull answered.

By this time the rest of The Hex Girls started to rouse from their slumber.

"Ugh, my head." Dusk said as she sat up. Or she would've said if she hadn't been gagged.

Luna sat up next, her eyebrows furrowed in fear.

"Take off Luna's gag, I want to talk to her." Thorn demanded of Dark Skull.

"You're in no position to be making demands!" Dark Skull shouted.

"If you want us to help you then you need to do what I ask." Thorn said.

Dark Skull hissed, before taking off Luna's gag. Luna coughed and sucked in a breath.

"Luna are you okay?" Thorn asked her sister.

Luna shook her head no. "Well, considering we've been kidnapped by freaks, it's a little understandable if I'm freaking out a little bit."

"I understand but didn't your parents have a poster of these guys?" Thorn asked.

This time Luna took a hard long look at Dark Skull and the vampire sleeping upside down.

"Yeah, I suppose they look a little bit like Wild Wind, though the vampire version." Luna explained.

"What'd you do to with Wild Wind?" Luna demanded.

Dark Skull smiled, revealing a set of pointed teeth somehow that was worse than when he smacked Thorn. "Last year, some humans came up here and were stupid enough to come inside and explore, so my brothers and I ripped them apart, figuring we could take their identities and costumes."

"When he found who they were, well that was just icing on the cake." A new voice said. It was Lighting Strikes! Thorn realized.

Thorn and Luna watched the brothers embrace. "Oi, Stormy wake up!" Dark Skull shouted and Shook the sleeping vampire awake.

Stormy Weathers woke with a start, crashing to the ground.

"Now that were all here, it time to begin the ritual." Dark Skull said bringing a cup and a knife from a nearby alter he went to Dusk first and made a small cut on her arm, Dark Skull put the bronze cup near her bleeding arm.

Next Dark Skull went to Luna who struggled in vain to get away from Dark Skull's knife, Dark Skull slashed her skin and put the cup near her wound and caught her lifeblood.

"Don't worry young one once our ritual is complete, you'll be free to go." Lightning Strikes said.

Dark Skull came near Thorn next and cut her skin with his stained knife and captured droplets of her lifeblood. Thorn whimpered in pain.

Now that they had all the ingredients, Dark Skull mixed their blood with herbs and they started chanting in Latin while they stood on a pentagram. "Mortem, mortem." They chanted over and over again.

After they stopped chanting for the first few seconds nothing happened, than a blinding white light came up from the pentagram and the trio of vampires screamed in pain, as all the years came crashing back into them, Thorn could see their faces turning from a man in his youthful twenty's to a man in his forties to finally an old man, after that they died, turning into nothing but bones and then finally dust.

Thorn let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding. Thorn struggled against her binds but without a knife it was useless.

For what seemed like hours, The Hex Girls sat in the dim light before they could hear noises, first it was faint voices followed by footsteps, after shouting for what seemed like hours a group came into view, after their vision cleared from the blinding light of the flashlight. Thorn realized it was Mystery Inc.! They were rescued.

"Are you guys okay"? Daphne asked as she examined the cuts from the knife. "Freddie let me see your spare ascots." Daphne demanded.

Fred obliged and dug out his spare ascots and gave them to Daphne. Daphne tied the ascots around the cuts and Fred worked on cutting The Hex Girls free.

"Can you guys walk?" Fred asked as he helped them to their feet.

"I think so." Thorn said.

Luna nodded. And Dusk got to her feet without Fred's help.

After following Mystery Inc. out of Vampire Rock, they helped them to the medical tent so the doctors could check them out for any internal injuries.

Daphne went to The Hex Girls tent and shouted for Quinn. "Quinn? You in there?"

The musical tent opened up and Quinn crawled out of it. "Did you find my sisters?" Quinn asked expectantly.

"Yep! We sure did." Daphne yelled in excitement.

"Where are they?" Quinn asked as he peered behind Daphne.

"In the medical tent. Follow me." Daphne answered as turned around and led Quinn to the medical tent.

It was a large white tent with a Red Cross sign out on front, Quinn went through the white flaps, and Quinn looked around the white bright room, he saw his sisters in the last three rows with a doctor present examining them.

"Thorn Dusk, Luna!" Quinn shouted as he raced towards them and crashed into Thorn, Thorn went oomph.

"I'm glad you're okay." Quinn said as he hugged Thorn fiercely.

"I'm fine." Thorn said as she hugged him just as hard.

"Are you okay?" Quinn asked Luna when hugged her.

"A little thirsty and tired, but nothing rest won't fix." Luna replied.

"What about you?" Quinn asked Dusk as he hugged her.

"I'm just peachy." Dusk replied returning Quinn's hug.

"And look Thorn, my fever's gone." Quinn said proudly.

Thorn smiled at him. "That's good."

"Come on sweetie, let's give the girls some time to rest." Daphne said as she steered Quinn away and back outside.

"If you like, you can hang out in the Mystery Machine and watch some TV while your sisters rest." Daphne offered.

"Really?" Quinn asked. "Do you have access to satellite so I can watch some cartoons?"

"Yep, we sure do." Daphne said.

When the duo returned to the Mystery Machine their inside was Shaggy and Scooby Doo.

"Where have you guys been?" Daphne asked them.

"Scooby doo, met some dingo's and they were kind enough to let us commune with nature." Shaggy said.

"What did you want to watch?" Daphne asked Quinn.

"Jimmy neutron." Quinn replied.

"Okay." Daphne said as she turned on the TV.

A day later when his sisters were well enough they packed up their camp and Russel drove them back to the airport. "Have a safe trip guys and sorry about getting kidnapped, hopefully that doesn't ruin Australia for you." Russel said as he helped them put their luggage on the ground.

Without further delay, The Hex Girls and with Quinn in tow they made it through customs without incident and got onto the airplane.

To be continued.
