Barry ran over to S.T.A.R Labs as soon as he finished up at the station. Rubbing his eyes, he skidded to a stop, casually leaning against a doorframe in the Cortex.
"Hey Barry," Caitlin greeted him distractedly from her work bench in the med lab. She was mixing some white powder into a plastic cup.
"What's up?" He returned, walking over and looking curiously into the cup.
It looked like water mixed with flour.
"Cisco just wanted to run a test and I'm helping him check the numbers."
"Since when has Cisco needed help with numbers?" Barry wasn't too worried about the test – Caitlin did them all the time to test his super speed and how it worked. But he was curious that Cisco was involved. Barry got the feeling Cisco wasn't too keen on group work when it came to his projects.
"Since he needed a biochemist. He's pretty smart when it comes to engineering and programming, but when it comes to the effects on the human body, he doesn't know much." Caitlin said with a smile that didn't hide the smug undertones.
"I didn't need you," Cisco protested, "I had already run the numbers, I just wanted you to double check them."
Caitlin didn't dignify that with a response, her smile stretching a little wider.
"Now, I don't really want to go all Walter White on you, but I figured if you can't get drunk, you'll probably be fine." Cisco said, grabbing a raspberry twizzler, seemingly building up to something. Cisco was nothing if not a drama queen.
"You're not giving me meth! I work at a Police station!' Barry exclaimed, thinking about the lectures all the rookies got on their first week about substance abuse. And the fact that drugs could be detected in your system up to five days after use.
"Nuh-uh-ah!" Cisco said, waving his red lolly around like a magic wand, "This isn't an illicit substance, and as long as we get the quantities right, it shouldn't affect you at all."
Barry looked at him suspiciously, and then turned a questioning look on Caitlin. She shrugged and then nodded, reassuring him that Cisco wasn't wrong, per se, although maybe a little too cavalier.
"Okay, fine." Barry sighed, it had been a long day, better to just satisfy Cisco's curiosity and be done with it. It was either that, or probably some boring running on the treadmill.
Cisco walked over to the med bay and swiped the cup of the bench.
"Drink this."
Barry shrugged, took the cup and drank it.
Author's Note:
Remind me to never be a part of Cisco's experiments unless the world is at stake, especially in the early seasons! I get the feeling he isn't worried enough about what happens to Barry when you mix super speed with a stimulant...
Oh, and I think I forgot the disclaimer last chapter so here it is: I don't own the Flash, maybe I should get a t-shirt so I don't forget, hehehe.
Anyway, don't forget to review and have a great week!
