Carl Fallston looked around at the scattered shards of shattered glass that blanketed the floor like a layer of sparkling diamonds. He grinned, his ruddy, scarred, and red-beared face lighting up like a streetlamp as he observed the cowering figures of bank tellers and customers hiding beneath desks and had swaggered into the bank a little over fifteen minutes ago, and it hadn't taken him more than ten to reduce the employees to a bunch of frightened rabbits.
"Open the vault!" He called out to the bank director. A hovering piece of glass was floating next to the bald man's neck, a trickle of blood staining it's razor sharp edge. The man walked towards the keypad, typing in the sequence.
What a pay day! He thought to himself, why did I spend so much time trying to get worker's compensation when I could've just forced them to pay up?
Suddenly, a burst of red lightning rocketed into the room and the Flash appeared before him.
"Stay back! Or I'll kill'im!" Carl yelled, more glass coming from all parts of the room until it circled the poor bank director.
"Whoa, just- just don't do anything stupid." The scarlet speedster warned taking a shaky step towards the man.
The glass moved a little closer and the Flash stopped moving. Now that he looked closely, it seemed like the Flash was breathing hard. Like running actually took it out of him.
"Out of breath, Flash?" the soon to be named Smasher mocked, "Need a glass of water before I cut you up?" He shifted some of his glass to point towards the figure in red. "From the way you're stumbling around, I'd say you need glasses!" Carl was slowly warming to his theme, feeling a lot more confident about fighting the Flash with every passing moment.
The Flash mumbled something under his breath, but Smasher couldn't hear him. If someone were to stand right next to him they might've heard, "I can't take this anymore, you're worse than Cisco."
On the other end of the line, Cisco said "Hey! I have class, sophistication and flair unlike him – " With a crackle of lightning, the bank director disappeared before Smasher could blink. Roaring in rage, his floating glass shards erupted again, expanding violently like an i.e.d and filling the room with dangerous splinters.
After a minute or so, he looked around, and seeing no returning vigilante, hurried to the vault to take the cash. He might've been new at this, but he wasn't completely stupid.
Where did he go? Carl thought nervously as he filled a bag full of gold bars, He'll come back any second, I need to be gone before that happens.
When he tried to leave the vault, he staggered under the weight of the bags.
Who knew gold was so heavy?
Confused yet triumphant, Smasher exited the bank, and staggered into a nearby alley, almost toppling over as he changed direction.
Author's Note:
Has the Flash let the bad guy escape? Or will Carl be apprehended? Who knows? (Just kidding - I know)
Anyway, I thought a change of perspective was in order and you guys'll have to tell me what you think of Carl a.k.a Smasher. I didn't intend for him to be some sort of criminal mastermind, just a slightly humorous morally questionable dude who, quite predictably, wanted to rob a bank.
I put the backstory below (if you want to read it) since it's not relevant to the rest of the story. Don't forget to review!

The Short and Somewhat Disappointing Backstory of Carl Fullston (aka Smasher)
Carl was a high school drop out who got an apprenticeship at a glass works. One night he was delivering some glass panes to the yard during overtime when the particle accelerator exploded. He was seriously injured in the blast, receiving serious lacerations and a permanent scar across his hansom visage.
He attempted to get worker's compensation or any type of compensation so his work would cover the hospital bills etc, but they refused, saying they didn't insure against "acts of God" and a scar wasn't serious damage. He argued that Harrison Wells "doesn't count as God", but they refused and fired him. A civil court case was not pursued due to money complications.
Discovering he had powers, and inspired by Captain Cold and many other successful villains he decided to take matters into his own hands and rob a bank to pay his debts.
And know you know the Short and Somewhat Disappointing backstory of Carl Fullston.
Have a great weekend and avoid broken glass!
