(Sonic's POV)
I was at home taking a shower to dry off the nasty blood off my hands and fur. What the hell happened out there?! I just pulled out that guy's heart out! And there was this voice in my head.
"Okay Sonic keep yourself sane" I said to myself.
I turned off the water and got out of the shower, drying myself with a bath towel.
During when I got home, I called Tails and told him that going to that cemetery wasn't such a good idea and I went home. I didn't want to tell what really happened or he'll think I went crazy.
The diamond was on the table and I regretted going there. It was black when I saw it but now it's clear like a regular colored diamond.
I should eat something; it's been a long day for me and maybe these ghost hunting is filling my head with crazy things. I went in the kitchen to make myself a sandwich.
I turned the radio on and heard the news on it, "This just in, a group of criminals were found murdered by an unknown killer. We have no witnesses of the incident but the way they are killed are yet to be revealed"
I turned the radio off. Shit! Now I'm a murderer and they'll definitely find out it's me. At least no witness but I don't know about a lead. What will my friends and Amy think about it?
"Don't think too much" the voice spoke in my mind.
"Aaaahh! I'm definitely out of my mind" I grabbed my sandwich and ate it.
"You can't escape me" The voice said, then appears in a black smoke with red eyes from my shoulder
"Who are you?!" I asked in fear.
I dropped my sandwich. I can't believe what I'm seeing. What the hell is that?!
"You're not real! I'm just imagining things and you'll just go poof, disappear" I said, trying to pinch myself.
"I'm real enough, Sonic. You freed me from my imprisonment" The thing said to me.
"What the hell are you talking about and how do you know my name?" I stuttered.
"The black diamond that released the black smoke and entered your mouth. That was me, Sonic. And I killed those men in your place. Take a look on the mirror and you'll see what I am in you" the thing went back in my body.
If he's being honest then I gotta listen. I went into my bathroom to look in the mirror and surely, I see me as a hideous monster with black sclera and red glowing eyes, razor teeth like a shark but when I felt my teeth, they were still my real teeth. My reflection moved on its own.
"Now you see what I am in you. I'm EXE and I'm in your head, Sonic. I know everything about your life. You're a ghost hunter and I see you have a lot of compassion for that innocent pink girl" My reflection talking to me.
"Whoa, Whoa, Whoa! You can't invade my life and my body, that's personal space, whatever you are. You shouldn't be in my body" I said to my hideous talking reflection.
"But I am. I have been in imprisonment long enough to wait for the perfect living host to get me out" EXE said.
"Please! Spare my friends and Amy" I pleaded.
"I will spare your friends and that girl. Listen carefully, Sonic. I'm a demon entity and I hunt bad people like those psychopaths I killed earlier. I hunger for blood and hearts" EXE said.
"You're kidding right? My kind are not cannibals and if I eat my kind, I die from terrible sickness" I said.
"To you, yes. But I am in you and we both can't die" EXE said.
"Why couldn't you use other dead bodies in the catacombs instead of me?" I asked.
"Their bodies are too weak and it killed them when I hosted them. Other living hosts died but you, you have a strong purest heart that I cannot possess" EXE said.
"Heh, that's new for you to learn. But I'm not killing anyone. My body and my mind belong to me. In my world, killing is a ticket to jail like your imprisonment" I said.
"Is that so?" EXE asked.
"Of course" I replied.
"Still I'm very unpredictable. You'll have to get used to me in you" EXE said.
"Maybe but you have to get used to my world, ghost. And no killing. I don't want to have that memory stuck in my head" I said.
"Then what do you suggest?" EXE said.
"Cooperate with me and not do something to make everyone think I'm crazy. I know about ghost possessing a person and we know the cure of it" I said, walking out of the bathroom and clean the floor in my kitchen.
"We shall see" EXE said.
After cleaning I tossed it in the trash, "So what made you choose me?" I asked, not directly.
"Your body is very unusual than my other weak hosts. But those bodies you saw at the catacombs were those psychopaths trying to come down here to steal my diamond. But you, you were very curious to touch it" EXE said in my head.
"Hmm...sounds like you're beginning to like me instead of killing me" I chuckled.
"Ridiculous, mortal. I just need a living body to survive" EXE scoffed.
"Really? I think you are starting to like me as your ride" I teased.
"Because you're cocky" EXE said.
"Cocky is what makes me who I am. Now if you don't mind, we gotta sleep and don't give me nightmares if that's what you can do in my subconscious in the brain" I said, getting in bed.

The next morning, I had a good night sleep but uncomfortable that I have a ghost haunting my body. I stretched and went to make my breakfast when I heard a call from my phone.
"Sonic here" I answered.
"Sonic. Did you hear the news? A gang of wanted criminals were killed last night!" It was Amy who called.
"That's terrible" I lied.
I hate lying but that is a half lie that I had no intentions of killing them.
"Maybe a savage wild animal or a zombie killed them. It's quite a mystery" I said.
"I wish it was a zombie than a real killer. Well take care Sonic" Amy said.
"And please stay safe, Amy" I said, a little worried if she finds out it was me.
"Don't worry Sonic. I can fight you know. Good luck out there" Amy said before hanging up.
I hung up too and feel very scared of dealing with someone haunting my body.
"I won't harm her. She's too innocent" EXE said in my head.
"You better keep your word" I said and went to have my breakfast.
"And please let me eat what I eat. It's what a living body needs" I said.
"So be it" EXE said.
"And you better not eat my friends. When I'm done eating, you stay quiet when I have a mission to investigate haunted places" I said to him but technically to myself.
"Well then. Just wait and see" EXE said with a suspicious tone.

I headed back to my office, and now Knuckles and Silver was there today.
"There you are, boys. I didn't see you come yesterday" I said.
"Well Rouge wanted to see me again for a date" Knuckles said.
"Blaze and I went for the cinema" Silver said.
"Heh, you boys sure learned how to be a man" I chuckled and went to my desk to search for haunted places.
"I guess so" Silver went to do his own work with Knuckles.
I found one and it's time to have a mission to hunt for ghosts, "Well, boys. I got a mission for myself. The theater that was abandoned in the 60s and some say it's haunted"
"Okay. But don't fail like the cemetery" Knuckles said.
"Knuckles!" I exclaimed at his words.
I just headed out of the building to begin investigate.

The place is very dead like no one has been in there for years and the building looks very abandoned. It sure is cold in there and whenever I feel chills, I know there's a ghost. I opened the doors and there was cobwebs and dust everywhere.
"Is this your hobby, exploring?" EXE asked me.
"Yeah, finding restless spirits is what I do. And getting away from psychopaths that try to scare people to make them think there's a ghost in abandoned places" I said, turning my EMF to track for spirit energy. First there was like nothing until it picks up something.
"I can feel a spirit close by. This one is very strong and very demented" EXE said.
"Where?" I didn't know EXE can sense spirits.
"Above you" EXE said.
I looked up and there was a ghost hovering above me. EXE was right that this dead ghost looked completely demented and mad. I stepped back from that ghost.
"Uh...EXE? What's the best way to get away from demented ghosts? Because I haven't dealt with that one" I stuttered nervously.
"Work with me!" EXE said.
"His cold ghostly chills are too ice cold!" I ran in the theater but tripped on the stairs.
"MUAAAAAAAAAH!" The demented ghost bellowed.
"I'll take care of this myself, wuss!" EXE said.
I felt my fingernails turn into claws and my teeth into razor. The ghost approaches us but EXE made me slash at the ghost. What?! I felt a physical touch from the ghost but how?!
"You sure are restless. So many souls to eat" EXE said.
"Impossible!" The ghost exclaims.
EXE grins and attacks the ghost violently. Technically in my place that is. And he made me suck the ghost in my mouth like a vacuum. Oh my god!
I held my stomach in disgust, "Dude! You just made me eat a ghost!" I felt like I was gonna throw up.
"Calm down. You're fine. I ate the ghost so he can go to the real dead place" EXE said in my mind.
"You mean Hell because he did something bad when he was once alive?" I groaned and shivered.
"Yes, I can sense the bad deeds they have done" EXE said.
"Next time tell me what you eat before doing that. Man, that was just insane and scary" I managed to recover from the nausea, "Okay, so you eat ghosts. What else?"
"Blood and hearts. It's so desirable for both of us" EXE chuckled.
"From a living person? My god you're insane. But here are my rules. If there's a very, very, very bad person you can but never ever good people. Understand?" I said, sitting down on the old theater seat.
"Like those psychopaths I killed?" EXE guessed.
"Yes, but I'm not used to seeing murder and death. Psychopaths do that too for desire and sport" I said.
"They have no right to live" EXE said.
"And restless evil spirits? I dealt with them but not directly. The living can't see ghosts but they can use instruments to see one. Like thermal infrared cameras" I said, holding out my infrared camera.
"Evil spirits I eat but if you want me to not harm good spirits, I'll leave them be" EXE said in my head.
"Okay, but for psychopaths, be sure you can sense their good or bad deeds. But please tell me what you do before attacking. And don't get their blood on my fur" I said, getting up from the seat.
"Very well" EXE said as we got out of the theater.
"I can't keep this a secret for long. But if I tell them they're gonna see me as a psycho" I leaned against the wall.
"They won't. I'm no psycho. Wait, someone is lurking. That person is very psycho and extremely insane. That killer has a knife" EXE made me move back inside the abandoned theater.
Once inside we saw a hooded person wielding a knife. EXE made me climb the walls like a spider. I nearly freaked out but EXE made me cover my mouth.
"Shush, just trust me on this. I'm not gonna get ourselves killed" EXE said.
"Alright have your own way" I said as we sneaked on the hooded man.
Climbing the walls was kinda cool but still very freaky for me. We went to the other side of the wall so that we can get behind that person. Then once he was distracted, we appeared behind him and EXE took over. The hooded man turned around and tried to stab me when EXE took the knife away and throws him at the floor.
"What are you?" The psycho asked.
"I am EXE and I hunger for your heart" EXE said, making my grin wider to scare the victim.
"No! Stay away from me!" The psycho got terrified and tried to run by EXE made me grab him.
"You don't deserve to live. You kill innocent people and you don't feel their pain! I'll show you what real pain feels like!" EXE said.
"AAAAAAH!" The psycho screamed as EXE killed him by impaling him.
"Yeah, scream like your life is dying!" EXE stabbed into the chest to clutch the heart organ.
He pulls it out leaving the body to fall. Then in a snap EXE ate the heart.
"So good!" EXE said.
I really hate to admit but...it didn't taste awful because I have a ghost possessing everything in my body. But I can't show myself with blood all over my fur.
As we were done, I had to find a way to hide the body, "We gotta get rid of the body or I'm dead"
"I got this" EXE held out our hand to make the body disappear like it never happened nor ever found.
"Thank goodness. But now I gotta head back to the office" I said.
But the blood in my hands makes me look like I slaughtered someone. Suddenly, the blood disappeared on my hands and fur.
"There, happy now?" EXE said.
"Yes, let's go" I said.

I got back to the headquarters and to my desk to take a moment to calm down.
"What's wrong with you? Evil spirits?" Tails asked.
"A real creepy one this time at the theater" I said.
"A strong one, isn't it?" Tails asked.
"Yeah, I had to get away or that spirit would've possessed me" I said.
"Good because I'd be forced to call an exorcist" Tails joked.
"Please, I can exercise my body to get it out" I teased.
"Funny but if you really get possessed, I call the exorcist" Tails said.
"Okay buddy" I said, wanting to hide EXE from him.
"That fox child is overprotective of you" EXE said in my head.
"Stop" I said quietly while searching online for another haunted place.
"Is he always like that?" EXE wondered.
"No, not a bit" I said.
I found an article of a haunted building that was supposed to be deadly with nightshade plants that causes hallucinations or death. Hmmm this could be something right now.
"No, nightshade plants weaken my powers, Sonic. It's too dangerous for a being like me" EXE said.
"Nightshades are dead, it can't harm me" I said.
"Are you trying to get me out of you?" EXE asked.
"No, I'm saying this is the opportunity for you to sense ghosts or psychopaths and save my body from harm. I want to see what you can do" I said with bravery.
"You got a lot of spunk in you but I can't survive without a host. If there are nightshades it will kill us both" EXE said.
"Okay let's see if it's true" I said and got up from my desk and was about to head out when Shadow noticed me.
"Going somewhere again?" He asked.
"Ghost hunting, Shadow. It's my hobby of life. I'm a legend you know" I said with my cocky attitude.
"Hmmm. Of course" Shadow shrugs it off.
"None of these scary ghost stories ever scare you?" I asked, knowing how well he is to not show any fear or weakness.
"Not one bit. And you know our team don't fear ghosts" Shadow said.
"Well except Knuckles once" I said.
"That echidna is an idiot" Shadow scoffed.
"Yet our strongest friend. Catch you all later" I said and got out.
