The reason why i'm going fast is because DeviantArt is going to change the layout on May 20th, permanently. If that happens, I will be confused with the new version like everyone else. Its called Eclipse version and is has a lot of flaws that all of us can't handle.
(Sonic's POV)
I'm on my way to the headquarters. I did bring the diamond but I hid it with me in plain sight. I told EXE to stay quiet so that I can find haunted places at my laptop desk.
"Morning guys. Yesterday Amy is doing okay. She's still trying to forget Dexter" I said, sitting at my desk and turned on my laptop.
"Good. I never trusted that guy" Tails said while having his coffee.
"But how long do you think he'll take a hint? He thinks I left her first but I never broke her heart by cheating on her. There's a difference. God that guy doesn't know anything about being faithful" I said while searching for haunted places that have any criminal history or evil spirit history.
"Who knows. But right now I got a call to take" Tails said and leaves me to do my research.
I looked at the searches of ones I checked off from my previous missions and looked for ones that were not crossed off. There's one that says a psycho person died in the 1970s by committing suicide. His history involves with rape attempts, illegal drugs, and murdering. Rumors say that he's haunting an abandoned factory where he killed himself.
"Hmmm worth to investigate" I said, rubbing my chin.
"You really don't fear of letting them possess you?" Silver asked.
"No but I'm never letting any evil spirit take over my mind. You see, finding innocent spirits is very tough because some can be shy or scared. But evil spirits, they are very easy to find when they don't like intruders invading their haunted places" I explained.
"You really are like a ghostbuster" Silver joked.
"Yes, but in a funny way I am. Anyways, I got ghost hunting to do. And make sure I get paid today. Every two weeks" I reminded him.
"Ok then. Good luck" Silver said.

Soon I found the abandoned factory place. This place really has cold chills in the air. Okay, I just hope EXE is right about this diamond thing to collect evil spirit energy.
"You sure you know what you're doing, EXE?" I asked.
"Absolutely" EXE said.
"Because we're going there" I said.
"We only got one shot at this" EXE took over my body and walks inside the factory.
We looked around for the killer ghost but saw none yet. My infrared camera is not picking up cold signatures of a ghost.
"He must be somewhere" I said looking up.
"He's anywhere and I can sense him. Somewhere through the walls or the machines" EXE said.
"He's trying to confuse us by scaring me" I said.
"YAAAAAGH!" The ghost appeared and tackled me.
"Agh! Get off me!" I said but I can't even physically touch this ghost but he can physically touch me.
"Soon you'll be one of my latest victims!" The ghost said maliciously.
EXE made my teeth razor sharp, "I don't think so. You'll be fully dead in hell!" He held out the diamond to suck the evil ghost in.
"NO! NOOOOOOOO!" The ghost screaming as he was sucked in.
"Oh, thank god! How did he? Ghosts can't touch physically. They just go right through things" I panted from the ice-cold chills from that ghost.
"This diamond is their weakness" EXE said.
"Oh man. At least I capture a pic from the infrared camera. Okay, that's one down, how many do we need?" I asked.
"Depending on how much energy the diamond needs" EXE said.
"Okay, at least the homeless people can find abandoned places to live without evil spirits hunting them" I said.
"Now it needs more evil souls" EXE said.
"Okay, but don't get hungry by sucking them in your mouth. My mouth. If you want to get back home, your cursed diamond needs their energy" I said, getting out of the factory.
"Okay, what's next on the list?" EXE asked.
"There's a cave somewhere at the beach. History says that angry mobs drowned a man at the beach in 1940s for dumping toxic barrels at the beach to cause pollution to kill fish in the ocean" I said, checking off my list of missions on my iPhone.
"Pollution?" EXE asked like he never heard of that word.
"Well it's using garbage and other filthy things to poison the waters" I said.
"And that kills anything living in the water?" EXE asked.
"Exactly" I confirmed to him.

We found the beach and I see everyone having a good time there. Getting suntan or playing with their kids in the water. I wish that was me and Amy having a good there, even though she knows I can't swim.
Now to find the cave somewhere on the rocks at the shore. I simply passed by the people to the cliffs.
"Okay we're out of public sight. And there's the cave" I noticed the cave.
"Let's check it out" EXE said.
I climbed down the cave, it was very moisty and cold climbing down, "Eww...man, I just hope there's no water down there" I said.
"We'll see" EXE said.
As we got down, we found skeletal remains at the bottom, yep here is evidence someone has died here.
"See anything, EXE?" I asked, pulling out my infrared camera to spot ghosts.
"Hmmmm. I sense it's here. But deeper into the cave" EXE said.
I nodded and as we got deeper there was more bones on the ground, nobody has been here for a while.
"I got a reading here" I looked at the camera.
I can see something moving and it's moving towards us, "EXE it's coming!"
"OOOOOOOOOAAAAAAH!" The ghost howled and went through me.
"Aahhh!" I fell down from the scary looking thing.
"Oh that ghost is so gonna get a punishment!" EXE took over and floated above to catch that ghost.
But that ghost is moving around too much and hard for EXE to grab him, "Stay still you dead bastard!"
"YAHAHAHAHAHA! YOU NEVER CATCH ME!" The ghost taunted us.
"Shut up!" EXE yelled and finally stretched my arm to grab the ghost and slam him in the diamond, "You can talk when you're in hell"
"AAAAH! NOT THIS!" The ghost screamed and EXE absorbed him.
"Yeah, a ticket for you to Hell!" EXE grinned widely.
The screams from that ghost were silenced once he was devoured. Well, devoured in the diamond until that ghost is completely dead and the energy is contained in the diamond.
"All done again, Sonic" EXE said.
"Yeah, now let's get the hell out of here" I said but EXE did the ability to go through the cave like a ghost, "What the hell?! Did you just..." I paused from the shock.
"Surprised?" EXE chuckled.
"You never told me you could do that" I said.
"I didn't want to freak you out" EXE said.
"It was really cool actually" I said, looking at myself again.
"There's more than meets the eye for you" EXE said.
"Next time tell what you're gonna do" I said, looking at my missions on my phone.
Rumors say that twin brothers died of a terrible death in an abandoned farm field. Some say they were murderers to stalk victims getting lost in the corn field.
"Well, lucky for us we got two ghosts to capture" I said.
"Then let's go over there" EXE said.

We came to an abandoned farm field; the corn field looked dead and very...tall like no one has cleared the field to start a new growth of corn field.
"Hello?!" I called out but no answer out there.
"It's abandoned but I know there out there" EXE said.
I picked out my infrared camera to find any signs of ghosts. The cornfield gives me the creeps when no one can't find a way out.
"Okay I got two readings here" I said and I turned the camera up seeing the ghosts in the barn, "They're in the barn. How are we gonna catch two of them?" I asked.
"Follow my lead" EXE said and morphed my body once again to his image.
He moved me by sneaking and blending in the shadows. I can see two ghosts watching from the window. But EXE made us go through the barn and quietly sneaked up to them.
"What the hell?!" They saw us.
"Found you boys! And now you're mine!" EXE held out the diamond to suck them in.
"AAAAAH! NOOOO NOT THAT!" The twins tried to flee but no use.
"Struggle all you want but there's no escape!" EXE made me grin widely again.
The twin ghosts were then fully absorbed into the diamond. The diamond was half black but not enough to get it full. But I also caught a pic with my infrared camera.
"Okay, I think that's enough for today. But I know it won't be easy to find every single evil spirit around" I said.
"No, but I can suck souls out from the living. It's too risky and dangerous to lurk after psychopaths and criminals in the open" EXE said.
"Yeah, at night is very risky. Without you in me I be dead" I said.
"Exactly. Right now, we got only half energy filled. We should head back now before your friends start worrying about you" EXE said.
"Okay" I put the diamond into the backpack.

I made it back to headquarters to print out the pics which takes a few minutes to be printed out. Everyone knows how great I am with ghost hunting and capturing pics on camera. This could be a fortune and a great history than those fake videos on YouTube.
"Ahh! Goddamn it! Stop it, Shadow!" I panted hard from how I didn't see him lurking out of nowhere.
"Got you now Sonic" Shadow smirked.
"Please that almost gave me a heart attack" I said to him.
"And it works all the time" Shadow chuckled.
"If my heart attack gives me death, I hope I haunt your ass for revenge" I glared.
"Just try me" Shadow said.
"Why do you like lurking? Just because your name is Shadow you blend in the shadows?" I asked while waiting for the printouts.
"Pretty much. Just as our Knucklehead uses his knuckles in combat" Shadow said.
"Yeah, whatever. But this is a serious thing between life and death, Shadow. I may be fearless but sometimes there's a life struggle to survive. I struggle by surviving and getting the hell out of haunted places before they could possess me and possibly kill you" I said and the printer finished printing photos.
"Alright. I've searched haunted places as well you know" Shadow said.
"And I hope you didn't disturb them" I said.
"I actually frightened them" Shadow replied.
"Ghosts don't get easily frightened by the living" I said.
"Hmmm, I don't even show fear" Shadow stated.
"Whatever man. But sometimes you gotta be careful what you wish for. Wishes can have a dark side" I said and went to the office to show the pictures to Tails. He takes them and had a look at them.
"Wow, these pictures are great Sonic. I dunno how you are able to get them so easily" Tails said while looking at them.
"Like I said, innocent spirits are too shy and they're not easy to capture. So I go with evil spirits that like to scare the living" I said.
"I'd be damned if I saw them" Tails said.
"You know I'll be at your side if it happened" I smiled at him.
