"You know you are going to get sick out here in the rain...And I do not wish you to be sick." Sera heard Magni's voice, causing a small smile to come on her face. The rain was pouring heavily, drenching the princess. She has been sitting out here for hours, angry with everything. She sat on a lonely bench in the forest, no one usually visited this forest. Hal has been trying to contact her and then he figured out that she found out. He decided to let her be, until later on. She felt incredibly bad for her friend. He cares so deeply and she was being selfish towards him. Hal deserved to have a friend that would rush to him in times like this, not ignore anyone- but she couldn't be that friend.
"That's sweet of you, considering we are not related." She replied simply, then sneezing. It made her feel better that they weren't related anymore.
"That does not change my feelings for you."
"Feelings for me?"
"I care about you, Serphi. You're a good person." Magni nicknamed, making Seraphina feel unsure.
"We are not family."
"So? You care for your friends, do you not?"
"Yes, but I barely have any friends." She stated, making Magni laugh and sit next to her. He took off his coat, placing it on her. She was colder than she should have been, possibly because of her powers?
"Do you not care about me?"
"Of course I care about you."
"So why is it so different that I care about you?"
"Because you knew all along that we were not family. You practically hated me the first day you met me! So why the sudden change of heart, Magni?" The princess questioned.
"The heart wants what it wants."
"Hmm.." She whispered, staring at her feet. The rain felt as if it was coming down harder, and lightning began to strike. Even with the weather like this, Asgard still looked beautiful.
"You are still mad at him?" Magni asked, referring to Loki.
"Of course."
"He tried so hard for yo-"
"Don't you even finish that sentence." She warned.
"You are just angry right now. Anger clouds judgment."
"I have every right to be." She snapped and sighed, fighting to keep her eyes open. Her head dropped slightly but she quickly snapped back up.
"You look tired, have you been sleeping?"
"No." Seraphim yawned, struggling to keep her eyes open. "I'm not even tired." This made the son of Thor chuckle and shake his head. Sera looked at him, trying to hide her smile. His blonde locks were wet and up to his shoulders, his clothes were now drenched because he gave her his coat and he had this large twinkle in his eyes. He sure is handsome.
"Oh come on, let me take you to bed."
"No" Sera tried to whine, but her head dropped down. Magna chuckled and helped her up
"After you have a long rest, I shall take you out to a proper meal. We will eat as we have never eaten before, my dear!" Magni said. Magni loved this feeling, this feeling of her and he did not know why. "We should dance if you wish to. We should sing if you like to sing." The son of Thor tried to make Seraphina smile, it was working.
"I hate being related to a monster." She revealed
"You may be your father's daughter but you are not your father."
As he walked down the halls, servants starred at him and guards did too. They walked past the open throne room, hearing the shouts. Loki was getting scolded because Seraphina had found out the truth. Odin believed it was his son's fault. Loki turned his head and spotted Magni walking with his daughter. She was soaked. She looked limp and drained. Loki stared at her, how lifeless she looked and it broke his heart. His anger was growing, making sure Odin will not have the last say.
Magni took her to her room, but not coming in. "Goodnight, Sera." He whispered.
"You have failed to keep your promise!" Odin yelled, his shouts heard throughout the palace. It was as if Odin's booming and angry voice was bouncing off the golden walls and pillars. Odin was sitting on his throne, with Frigga on his right. Thor stood beside his little brother, Loki, below the tiny golden steps. You could see the hate and anger in both the King's and the second son's eyes. Both of their fists were clenched, looking like they were about to break out in war.
"I did not tell her! She has found out amongst other things." Loki snapped.
"What does that mean?"
"That damn book! You wanted her dead, didn't you?" Loki snapped, staring at his adoptive father's unreadable eyes. He saw the shameful twinkle that Odin gets, making the adoptive son's eyes widened. "You did..."
"Odin?" Fridge spoke, looking at her husband.
"I did not wish her death. I thought it was better if she would be dead, so did a lot of others-"
"FATHER!" Thor shouted, his blood boiling. Thor loves Seraphina like a daughter and to imagine his own father doing that destroys him.
"Her powers are too strong! She lives a life of-"
"You have no right to speak!" Loki shouted, "How could you? You deserve to wither in pain! To be tortured! She was just a baby! You took her away from me! You h-"
"I never tried to kill her, you buffoon!" Odin shouted, "That was her mother, your whore of a wife. She was the one who went against you! She was the one who took your daughter away! I told you to never marry her! Do not blame me for the mistakes of that wretched woman!"
"You stopped the searches..." Thor trailed off, unable to look at his father.
"Because I thought it would be better if she was not found."
"Odin, how could you! She is our family!" Fridge sobbed. Loki shook his head and stormed out of the room, not willing to hear anymore that man had to say. Loki headed down to Seraphina's chamber. He walked in quietly, seeing her fast sleep. She was soaked and shivering. The room's temperature was extremely cold, possibly below zero. Loki placed his finger on her cheek, using a heat spell to dry her. Slowly her hair dried and fell into its usual waves. Her body, her clothes, and her bed dried, making it much easier for Sera to sleep. Loki sighed, about to leave. 'Why did I even come her-'
"Loki?" Her voice was weak but still loud enough for him to hear her.
"Seraphina, I-"
"Save it." She said sternly, "You warmed me, right?"
"Yes, I do not wish for you to catch any illness." He answered, trying to sound emotionless. He noticed a glimpse in her eyes, such a mixture of unreadable feelings. 'She must've gotten that quality from me.'
"I heard the mighty Odin yell at you." She said, mocking the king. Her mock made Loki smirk, she sure was his child.
"You need not worry. You want nothing to do with me or Thor or anyone else, so why does it matter?" He said, sounding harsh. "Thor knows you are highly angered with him, he has been looking for you. I guess I shall tell him that you are here?"
"No." She answered without hesitation, "I don't want to see him."
"You are going to face him sometime." Sera noticed how hard he was trying to not get attached. It was obviously too late for that. Loki loved her with all his heart, he wanted to protect her, he wanted her to be his little girl again.
"Was she always like that?" Sera asked him in a low voice, making the god of tricks confused.
"Who?"
"My mother. Was my mother always so cruel to me?"
"I am not quite certain how long she treated you ba-"
"Is she dead?"
"Yes."
"Why did she leave me there?" She asked, looking into his eyes, "Do you know why?"
"I am not sure why she has done the things she did. I loved her and I had trusted her. It was the biggest mistake I ever made, I am sorry."
"What was your biggest mistake?"
"Loving her and trusting her the way I did."
"Well, if you didn't love her then you would have never gotten me." She replied and laughed coldly to herself, "Actually, I now understand why she was your mistake."
"I did not mean it in that sense."
"You left me there. You left me all alone."
"Seraphina, do you think I would ever want anything to happen to you?" He asked her, making her look up at him. Her dad. She remembered how much of a hero he was to her as a child, how much she loved him. She remembered all the things he had done for her when she was a child. How much he struggled for her, all the things he taught her, and how he stayed up late with her. He was a real father and she knew that. She knew it all but she was angry, so so angry. He was not the same man anymore and she was not his innocent child.
"No." She answered, "Yo-You were a great dad. Past tense."
"You are a great daughter."
"I'm not your daughter. " She replied, looking away. Loki watched Sera pulled her feet to her chest, something her mother used to do when she was upset. He noticed the similarities between her and her mother and he wasn't quite certain if that was a good thing. She was beautiful, like her mother, but she was better than that traitor. She will always be. "Odin wanted me dead, right?"
"He did not want you dead, my love. He is your grandfather and he does care for you."
"Don't try to make this seem lighter and better than what it really is." She snapped, then sighed. She ran her fingers through her hair, looking much like her father at that moment. "He wanted me dead."
"What would make you pick him?"
"Well Thor loves me, you love me, Frigga loved me like a mother, but Odin didn't. I mean, I guess he cares but it's not as strong. He looked so shocked when he saw me. It wasn't a happy shock or the sad shock, it was just pure shock. He's the only one that made the most sense to me."
"The king is a confusing man, I have no doubt that he cares about yo-"
"I don't care."
"You are angry."
"And so are you! " She said, making Loki sigh. Odin has affected Loki to the point that he ruined his life, and he does not want Odin to ruin his daughter's life. He refuses to let Odin take over his daughter's mind and heart.
"Whatever that man says or does do not believe any bit of it. You are my daughter and the most precious thing in my life, Seraphina. He has left you for dead and has forgotten about you but I have not. I never will. Thor has not forgotten you, Frigga has not forgotten you. No matter who you become, I will love you. Fridge and Thor will still love you as well." Loki said. Seraphina kept silent for a bit, making Loki question if he should just leave.
"You do not love me where a father should. You gave up just like Odin and you turned into a horrid man. I almost died in New York. How would that have been? Died by the hands of my father? Well if that happened you would have never known." She said, making Loki's heartbreak.
"I did not know you were there."
"I doesn't change the lives you took or the pain you caused." She snapped " I always wanted my father to be you. You had the same smell, which makes sense now. You felt so familiar to me and so warm! I wanted you to be my dad and when I found out, I was enraged! I never knew you were the one who attacked New York. If I did I would never come running to you."
"Sera-"
"You don't get it! I always had dreams of my so-called father! I always felt like he abandoned me! My mother was cruel and cruel memories are all I have from her, but I do not have a single cruel memory of you! Not a single one! That made it so much harder! "
"I will be making every day, as long as I live, up to you. I have messed up, yes, but I will make sure to never let you go. Never again."
"I need time away from you Odinson." She replied coldly motioning for him to leave.
