No...no, Neji's too strong, dammit! He promised! How could he have died? Tenten watched, grief stricken as Lee sobbed while holding Neji to his chest. Neji's curse mark had faded. Blood covered his body. Everyone was in shock. Neji Hyuga? Dead?
*Flashback*
Neji started to walk out of the tent, but someone grabbed his arm. "Neji!" Tenten said, tears threatening to fall. The Hyuga's eye softened and he pulled her into an embrace. "Tenten…" She looked up at him. "Promise me you'll come back! Promise!" Neji hesitated, and then leaned down to kiss her. Tenten's eyes widened in shock. He let go, caressing her cheek lightly. "I promise." he whispered, and then they both walked out of the tent toward war.
*End of flashback*
A few years later, couples had formed. Ino and Sai, Shikamaru and Temari, Sasuke and Sakura, Choji and Karui, Naruto and Hinata. Tenten was so happy for all of them, but inside, her heart was broken. But everyday, she would fake a smile, pretend to be happy, and go on with her life. She never got over Neji, but she forced herself to hide the pain.
