Sera woke up a little later this morning getting ready for the feast tonight- Her feast. She showered before the hair artists and makeup artists came in to work on her. The artists that work for the palace are typically older more skilled women, which almost confused the Princess. 'If everyone lives for hundreds of years I am sure everyone is perfectly skilled.' She asked if they can lightly apply her makeup, not wanting to look too dramatic. They used neutral browns on her skin and a bright red on her lips. They straightened her hair today, making her hair look much longer and voluminous. They carefully and slowly placed her small crown on her head, pinning and wrapping her hair to secure it doesn't fall off. Once they left Sera sat there waiting for Lady Eira to come with her dress. "Princess?" Lady Eira called, perfectly on time. Sera wonders if Lady Eira is ever late or has a flaw. The older woman holds her head so high that Sera wished to know her secret.
"Come in !" Sera called walking closer to the door. Lady Eira came in with a prideful smile. "Lady Eira, can you help me put it on?"
"Of course Princess, I have to tighten your straps anyways." Lady Eira spoke. Sera knew that the seamstress wanted to see her final product on the Princess first. Sera stared at her reflection in the mirror, noticing her changes. The feeling of her mother's spell over her body- her aging- has been losing its power, making her feel alive. The Asgardian strength was rising in her body. Her skin was practically glowing. She had grown since her time here, however only two inches, it felt like she was a giant. "Does it fit your desire?" Lady Eira spoke, her accent showing. You can tell the Lady was proud of her work. Sera stared at the dress in awe but with a pang of guilt.
The dress was not a big ballgown, but flowy, meant to outline her new proud figure. The red was a deep red- Thor's red. It was an Asgardian custom to wear your family's colors until of age therefore Sera has no choice but to wear a family's color. She refused to wear Loki's. The dress's waistline had a greyish black that matched the color of her straps which is to represent Thor's armor. The halter had a deep V slightly emphasizing her chest and tightened slightly around her hips emphasizing her curve. There is a slit on her right leg expressing her womanhood. Her leg shaped looked gorgeous and her skin color against the dress seemed to match perfectly.
"I-I love it. Do you think it is too much?"
"It is not very Asgardian style, but you are not exactly of Asgard." She smiled, "This is the age that young ladies of Asgard start to dress as women. You are now almost to adulthood, you look beautiful. Embrace yourself. Do not fret on other's opinions. You are the princess not them."
"Will you be there? " Sera questioned
"Yes, my princess."
"I look forward to seeing you," Sera spoke, but couldn't help but be so grateful. She wrapped her arms around the lady. "Thank you so much!" Lady Eira gave a warm smile and a small but quick hug back.
"Of course. You feast shall be starting soon. I shall see you then. Have the kindest of birth dates." Lady Eira spoke leaving Sera alone to her thoughts. She knew she was going to hurt her father by doing this but a part of her didn't care. She wanted him to suffer. Sera looked into her own eyes seeing that maybe her heart is black after all. She has forgiven and wanted love for the longest of times but now she will not settle for it ever again. If she is meant to be a monster then so be it.
"Your highness?" A guard called, catching her attention. "It is time." Sera nodded fixing herself quickly and heading towards the feast. Her heart beating loudly in her chest and her palms sweating for her entrance. Royals from different realms will be here awaiting her, looking at her and judging her. She stopped in front of two large brown doors, waiting for them to open. She heard Odin giving a speech about her birthday, and the applause around the room hearing the great King talk. The minute he called her name, the doors opened revealing Seraphina. She walked slowly, trying to keep her head held high. Her eyes met Magni's and they stayed there. The applause was all around her, congratulating her womanhood and her life now here. Sera sat in her seat as others started to feast and dance, feeling her nerves calm. She looked up realizing Loki staring at her. That pang of guilt came back, knowing she is praising her uncle over her father. Sera did not know but Loki's blood was boiling. The anger and rage he felt were so strong he could murder everyone in that room. She chose him. His whole life everyone chose him, and now his own daughter. His own blood. She had so much pride in Thor's colors. I wonder if she wished he was her father. Loki thought knowing the answer, she would rather the hero than the villain.
"Interesting dress choice," Magni spoke, making Sera turn to face him
"Well, I am an interesting person you know." She smiled. She took in his smell and it made her heart skip a little. He gestured his hand for a dance in which she gladly took. He felt her sweaty palms, realizing how nervous she was. "Do all the men always wear their armor?" Sera questioned quickly, not wanting him to comment on her hands.
"Yes, it is tradition. A tradition that you are breaking with such a scandalous dress. The people will talk." He murmured, slowly swirling her.
"I am not from Asgard. Everyone knows it. I should not conform to any way that is not my own." Every time she touched his skin if felt so warm against her forever cold self.
"You made my father proud wearing his colors. "
"He is the only male that I am proud of."
"Oh, how you offend me so."
"Magni, please, you are so annoying." She laughed. She laughed so effortlessly with the son of Thor. Her pearly whites showing as she got lost in the moment with him. That moment was short-lived once Gustavo interrupted.
"May I have a dance with the Princess?" He asked looking at her. Sera felt torn between him, she could not give up on the years they shared together even if her heart wanted someone else. Magni glared at Gus, wanting to make a scene. Sera tightened her grip in Magni's head and gave a nod.
"One dance." She said, taking Gus's hand. He did not have that exciting warmth that Magni had or that sweet smell she grew to love. "What do you want Gus?"
"To apologize." He said. "I am deeply sorry for the things I have caused. I came here like you, unsure of my path. I was trying to fit in. Please my sweet Sera will you take me back?"
"W-What?"
"I was cruel. I followed whatever I thought could help me and I am sorry. I love you." Sera's stomach turned as she abruptly let go of his hands, backing away from him. "I know I have not picked the right time but I cannot handle a moment without you."
"I need a minute," Sera spoke, rushing to the balcony. The cold sweet air felt good against her and calmed her nerves.
"Did Gus upset you?" Hal spoke, and Sera's eyes went on him. He was not like other Asgardians for one his 'armor' was barely armor. Just fancy wear he wore to these things. It made his skinny arms look thinner. "I do wish that man to disappear." Sera did not answer, the previous minutes playing in her head, making her nervous. Memories of her childhood spent with him, the amount of fun they had. Sera remembers love between them but her heart was leaning elsewhere. "You do not need him," Hal whispered, leaning closer to her. Sera realized his actions as he kept leaning. She quickly pushed him away, anger in her eyes.
"What were you doing?" She demanded
"I-I thought that you and were...I thought you had feelings for me."
"Feelings?" Sera breathed, shaking her head. "You are my friend. I do not wish for more Hal." A flash of hurt was in his eyes and then a flash of anger.
"You wish for someone else then."
"Why must I wish for someone? Why can't I just be me? Be alone?"
"Because I see the way you look at him. When he talks to you, when you dance with him. I know you love Magni." He angrily spoke. This was the first time Sera ever seen him so angry. "I thought there was a chance you could love me. I wouldn't have minded sharing your heart. Is there a chance Sera?"
"I am so sorry Hal." She whispered, a tear in her eye. What hurt Hal the most wasn't that she didn't believe there was a chance for them, but that she did not deny her feelings towards Magni. The heir. A stupid selfish prince. He looked at her with disgust and anger.
"I hope your day is everything you wish it to be." He stormed away, leaving Sera there.
Sera must have sat outside for maybe an hour of her feast, which is not that long of a time. Asgardian feasts last to the early hours of the morning. She sighed, getting up and entering the feast hall. The sight of everyone laughing and dancing made her feel distraught and confused. 'Was I that wrong? That bad of a person?' she asked herself, remembering her fun moments with Hal. She saw him as her friend, not a lover. She was disgusted with herself. She wished she loved Hal, but she couldn't. She did not have it in her to love him and she had no idea as to why. "You asked Frigga to not have father-daughter dances?" She heard Loki speak behind her. She turned to face him not bothering to hide her saddened face.
"I thought it wouldn't be appropriate." She spoke lowly, sitting down. Loki was so enraged by her. She is publically embarrassing him by not wearing his colors, and then no parent dances. However, seeing her so upset made him forget all of that. He sat next to her watching her stare at the table.
"Are you alright?" He asked, watching her nod. "You can tell me. I do not have many friends here, no one to tell." She gave a chuckle at him, but then fell silent. "I know you feel-"
"Do not tell me what I feel." She snapped, so much built up angry being thrown at her father. "Do not tell me how or what I feel. You think you know me but you do not. I am sorry but we can never have father-daughter dances like I was a child, I cannot come running to you screaming daddy. I am an adult now. The things you want from me are dead and for someone I no longer am. You all want me to be some person I am not. I was weak when I came here, I was weak trying to seek love when there shouldn't be and I am weak now speaking to you as if you hold something over me. I am not an Asgardian. I am a Midgardian- no matter what my blood may say. I remember Earth. I would protect the people of Earth before I would protect the people here. You hurt my people- you are a murderer. Worst of all I almost died by your hands, whether you knew I was there or not." Loki kept her stare, trying to feel emotionless at her angry words. He kept trying to remind himself that she is just hurting. "You cannot expect me to come to you when my life is like this because of you and my mother. Your heart is black and Thor's is gold. Hence you see why I wear his colors and not yours." The words felt as if it blew a bullet through his heart. Loki stood up and just left. Not saying one word or giving one look to his daughter.
Once he reached his chambers he let his rage show, breaking and throwing every item he can find. He let his screams out, knowing he will not be heard. However, as angry and as hateful she becomes towards him, he couldn't help but agree with her. His heart is soured and his perfect brother's heart is pure.
The day after the feast, Sera got up early, trying to find Loki to apologize. She doesn't know whether she means her apology or not, but she felt that she cannot be so cruel. She fears that she will turn into him if she does, however every time she is near him she can't help but hate. She checked the dining hall, the arena, the library, and even his chambers and he was nowhere to be found. She sighed feeling guilty for who she is becoming. Sera walked back to her room deciding to further her research on her mother. She scrummaged her way through multiple books, finding a powerful spell. A spell needing one of the painite gems. She looked at the handful of gems in her hand. She was fearful to waste such a precious gift. She looked at the spell, tracing the words with her fingers. If she uses the stone she can see glimpses of her mother's memories- whatever the stone shows her. Sera could not help but feel this strong pull towards the mystery woman as she analyzed the stone. 'Here goes nothing' She thought rather impulsively. Picking up a single stone, she repeated the of the spell, her mind concentrated on her birth mother. Once Sera finished the words, the wind got knocked out of her lungs and her whole body tensed, not allowing her to move. Her head fell back and her eyes widened and were now white.
A beautiful tall woman in a beautiful gown marrying the prince of lies. The crowd stretched for miles, cheering the young lovers. Their smiles were true and honest. Flowers everywhere. Sera saw a proud Frigga, Odin, and Thor. It was perfect. It was so happy. The love shone in both of their eyes. Sera could feel like this is the happiest day of her mother's life. There was only purity.
The visions changed to the same woman smiling brightly hearing she will have a baby girl. "Oh Loki! She will be the best in all of the land." Her heart racing from the news. "She will rule! I just know it!" She exclaimed kissing her husband. The joy she felt was pulsing through Sera's brain.
The vision changed now to a room that was black and empty. There stood her mother, now more obviously pregnant and standing tall. "You will do as I say!" A booming voice screamed. Sera tried hard but she could see the voice or recognize the home. It was older brick, a small house on the outskirts of Asgard.
"I will not!" She yelled back. "I will never hurt my child or Loki."
"Oh yes, you will." A deep voice called, appearing out of nowhere but it was too late. He had injected her with this black liquid. Her piercing screams echoed. Sera tried her hardest to see him but she couldn't.
This last vision was different. She was inside her head- inside her mother's head. She watched her mother as she tried to fight hurting her own daughter. She watched glimpses of her mother going to that Midgardian man with a purpose. He knew something- he was not a lover. Sera felt it all. Her mother never wanted to go to him. She watched her mother try to distance herself with little Sera, afraid to hurt her. "Please do not hurt my child. Please." She heard her mother's pleas to herself.
The skies were black as her mother was in a different land. Tears covered her face and Sera knew what day this was. This was the day her mother left her on Midgard. She saw that this was the last action of her own- the only action she could have controlled- she murdered herself.
Sera dropped to the ground gasping for air. She struggled to keep her breath straight and to open her eyes. Her coughing became louder, until she finally calmed down. She opened her eyes at the realization that her mother was trying to save her all along.
Hey guys so I am getting (and remembering) a lot of ideas that I had for this story but I don't know what I want to use first. Since this story is much older there are going to be older stuff happening like I don't think I am going to address infinity war or anything like that and if I do it'll probably really deep in this. I might keep this going for a while. Especially with everything going on we need outlets. I'm definitely going to write that love story. This love story I had planned for sooo long and I just never wrote it and now it's itching at me to write it. Idk how much I want to my new character to be affected but I think I am going to go completely bat shit nuts and give this new character bitch a whole run for interesting character things! In my original idea she was going to have a certain I guess connection (don't want to spill the beans) with the tesseract but I don't know if that is still a good idea with the whole Thanos snap thing. I'd love to hear some of your advice! Love you guys! Thanks for reading guys I really appreciate you!
