It was midday and Sera had taken a break from the festivities of the day. The morning training with Sif and Loki was as usual but odd. Both Sif and Loki seemed on edge and unsteady without reason. She tried to question them, especially her father, but received no answer. Sera pulled her hair down from its braid, letting it just fall. Her hair has seriously grown in this time, reaching now her lower back. The princess made a mental note to ask Frigga where she can cut her hair. Sera hasn't seen a salon in so long it would be wonderous. She was nervous for what the day will bring. Hal sent word that he would like to see her around this time, so Sera decided to wait in her room. She hopes it will not end in another fight and that they could be friends. The princess walked to her balcony to take in the air. Asgard had such clear and refreshing air. Sera had grown to love the view and the palace. There came a point where she wouldn't change being the princess of Asgard for the world, but it never lives through. Something about the mortal world- Midgard- holds high in her mind and heart. Would she go back and stay there? Maybe. But for now, she will enjoy Asgard.

The sky was a deep, this early afternoon. Shades of red and brown filled the sky, unlike any sky Sera has ever seen. Sera stared at the black clouds in confusion. The smell was odd and strong. She walked to the edge, trying to smell better. It smelled almost like gasoline, and something was burning.

Sera hurried out of her room, trying to find a member of the court, a guard, or just her family however she did not see an individual insight. The palace was eerily empty. She walked down the stairs, the smell getting stronger. Her head turned at the sound 'tick, tick, tick,' "How strange?" She murmured, walking closer. The noise quickened and got louder as she walked closer. Her eyes landed on a small metal material, with a flashing red light. Getting up close she sees that it is a count down. 0:09, 0:08, Realization hit, causing her eyes to widen. 0:07, 0;06, She started to run.

She could not run fast enough as she heard the blows. The loud explosions caused her ears to ring. Pillars and walls started to come down, the force thrusting Sera's body. Her hands over her head protecting her, shielding her with her own magic. As she ran, another blow struck to the pillar across from her. The force sent her body falling out of the open corridor. She was falling out of the palace. The air was caught in her lungs, and her eyes burned from the pressure of the fall. She tried to keep her concentration, hoping the fall doesn't kill her. Sera's last sight was the ground.

The sound of shrieks and screams filled her ears, but her eyes could not open. Debris filled her lungs, causing an uncontrollable cough. Her body ached with every move. After several moments, she could open her eyes, red filling her vision. There was blood everywhere, flames, and smoke. She pushed herself up clutching to her head. 'Sif trained you for this moment. Sif trained you for this moment. Sif trained you for this moment.' She repeated in her head trying to get a better understanding of the scene unfolding itself in front of her. There were bodies everywhere- men, women, and children. Her heart pained to see a child's lifeless body on the floor. When she turned, her eyes made contact with him- or it. Its body was red, with flames piercing through- the eyes were as flames. An evil smirk rising on his face. "I found the girl." The voice was deep and terrifying. 'Fight or Run? Fight or Run? Fight or Run?' Sera kept asking herself. The pit of her stomach was turning and the air was caught in her throat. Flames started to pour out of the fire demon, making her eyes wide. 'Run it is then.' She turned and ran quickly, unsure of where she is going. She tried to focus on calling her father but her magic was too scattered- she was too scattered. Flames poured in front of her and her sides, trapping her. Sera turned facing the demon. "Come freely, child." Sera almost couldn't get herself to speak, in fear that she would just burst in flames. She shook her head quickly, holding her stance to fight. The Fire giant did not look pleased with her response. For some reason, he did not burn her but he charged her. Fear jumped into her as she ducked his charge. He started to swing his fists, the muscles on his arms had veins practically popping. She successfully dodged every swing, but she was fearful to hit back. To touch the fire beast. Through every kick, punch, or smack she dodged but surely she was tiring herself out while the demon seemed unphased by her attempts. She was starting to misstep, now only missing swings from luck and chance. She was weary and her knees were starting to buckle.

He truly looked like a warrior, he looked prized- unlike her wimpy body. He was covered in muscle, his body's stature had to be a few feet taller than her own and his face could traumatize the strongest of foes. "Enough!" he boomed, hitting her down and then grabbing her wrist. His touch was burning her skin, causing her to cry out in pain. Tears filled her eyes at the feeling of her skin ripping. Another hand grabbed her waist, burning through her dress to her skin. Suddenly, the beast started to scream in agony. Sera opened her eyes realizing what was happening- what she was doing. Her skin was light blue, her eyes light red. She was freezing him. The cold ice against him felt like he was suffocating. The ice and cold are his worst enemy. Sera felt the temperature around her drop, and she only prayed that this stayed. That she could hold her powers this long while conscious. Once his body froze, her blue skin changed back and she could no longer hold the cold she bestowed upon Asgard. Sera looked down at herself. Her once dress was now sectioned off at the waist revealing her burnt stomach. The third-degree burns made it almost unbearable to move.

After a few moments, she felt it again however it wasn't her. Asgard was so cold that snow fell from the skies. She heard screeching and deafening shrieks. The cold temperature soothing and the snow almost calmed her. Sera slowly made her way to the origin of ice, using ruins to help hold up her aching body. Her eyes caught her father- blue and red-eyed putting Asgard under the ice. She saw Heimdall in the fight, his back against Thor's. Warriors were giving their lives to defend Asgard. A flash of red caught her eye. A fire demon was charging at her father, however, Loki was focused on the ice storm. The close proximity of the blade to her father gave her fear. She should want him to suffer and die for the damages he caused but the guilt ate her. She would never live with herself knowing she made him die, deep down she cared for him. "Father!" She screamed, her hands stretched out. A blue blast came from her finger stretching the distance. An ice pike went through the heart of the monster. The energy rushing through her body made her dizzy. As her eyes drooped she got in focus of the house. Her mother's house. Unscathed in all of the ruins.

The bright light of the healer's room filled the young girl's vision, making her blink uncontrollably. As Sera got a look of the room, she realized no one was there not even a healer. A groan escaped her lips as her body's wrath took over her. The aches of the battle washed over her and the memories flooded her mind. 'I found the girl', rang through her head. They were looking for her. This whole war was over her- one person. "Princess! You have awoken." She heard a light voice call. She turned her head to see an apprentice healer, her brown skin covered in sweat and stress was written in her eyes. The apprentice looked so small standing there in the doorway. The shakiness of her hands and the panting of her breath made Sera worry deeply. "How are you fairing?"

"I am fine," Sera assured, positioning herself upward. "What has happened? How are the people of Asgard?"

"Not well. There are so many-There are-"

"It's alright." Sera stopped her, not wanting the apprentice to relive the memory that will forever haunt both of them. Sera could not handle knowing how many people died for her. "You do not need to explain."

"The queen is in very serious condition." The apprentice spoke, walking closer to check on Sera's wound. Fear rose in the princess. Sera's palms started to sweat at the thought of anything happening to Frigga. "We have gotten your burns down to the first degree. Hopefully, within some time it shall go away-"

"What happened to the queen?" Sera's voice was strong, it was almost was impossible to not answer her. "Tell me."

"She was injured badly during battle. We are short-staffed, there have been many deaths in Asgard." The apprentice noticed the worry and fear. "The queen is expected to make a full recovery. I shall leave you be, princess, I am needed elsewhere."

"Thank you for your help," Sera called, watching her go. Guilt was felt throughout her body, knowing that those deaths are on her hands. 'I found the girl.' Repeated once more, causing shivers up and down her spine. She looked across the room given to her and back at her hands. The bodies she saw- the children. A tear sheds down the princess's face, knowing she will forever carry the weight of Asgardian lives on her hands.

The second time Sera woke, she saw Loki sitting by the bed. The bags under his eyes were noticeable and his hair looked like a tangled mess. He looked as if he had suffered a great deal from this battle. Loki saw her body fall, and her screaming 'father'. It pained him that the battle made her call him father, not a natural moment. Loki had gotten to her room about an hour ago, after seeing Frigga. Before visiting either Odin, Thor, Loki, and a few members of the council spoke of this war, and how they would torture and interrogate the prisoners. It almost humored the prince that now faced with war he is an 'Asgardian.' This war was one of the hardest ones he has seen, so much Asgardian blood was lost. Anger overcame the fallen prince thinking that if one small thing was different Sera or Frigga could have died.

Sera has never seen him so distressed, but it was understandable. Frigga's life was hanging by a thread and it was her fault. She wanted to tell him it was all her fault. That this was for her but she couldn't get herself too. She wanted to tell Loki everything but fear of him hating her, of everyone hating her in Asgard was too much to bear. What would Thor think of her? Frigga? "You are awake." Loki noticed, making her lock eyes with him. "The healers told me your body will recover quickly. The burns may scar."

"I do not care for a scar." She spoke, her voice was raspy. She felt like a disgusting traitor, but she could not get herself to tell him. "How is Frigga?"

"Alive. She is resting. She is expected to make a recovery." He spoke, leaning his back against the chair. It was the first time she saw Loki like this. She was used to him holding himself tall in his chair. Never a misstep in posture. 'I caused this,' was screaming in her head. "I am sorry I could not protect you more in battle." He spoke, making Sera want to slam her body through a wall. Here he was apologizing for not protecting her enough but she was the one who caused all of this. She deserved to die by the hands of a flame.

"Loki, I am the reason-"

"There is some disturbing news I must tell you, Sera." He over spoke, ignoring whatever he thought was nonsense. He could no longer withhold the information from her. Sera looked at him, her heart quickening. Was it Thor? Magni? Sif? "Hal's body was found under the rumble. He is no longer with us." She stared for a moment. 'Hal', she thought. " We do not know why he was on the other side of the palace for he was not supposed to be there today. He was supposed to be working." He added, trying to make her feel better about the situation. Perhaps if Sera thought that he was somewhere he should not have been it could've been easier. But Sera knew why. Hal was going to see her, to talk to her, to mend things with her. Even at this moment, the only reason was her. She felt the anxiety start to rise. She murdered her best friend, her first friend in Asgard. She murdered the boy in love with her.

"We can use the painite gem. We can-"

"Those gems cannot be used in such a way, it is far too dangerous. He is gone, I am sorry Sera." Loki pitied his daughter, the loss she had to feel at such a young age. He would have changed every decision he made if it meant she did not lose a soul she cared for. He saw the tears form in her eyes and her breath quicken. "Would you like me to spend some time with you tonight?" He questioned, wanting to help her.

"No." She whispered.

"it is not healthy to mourn alone. How about-"

"Please leave me." She spoke, but he did not move. "Loki, leave. I need to be alone." Loki. She called him, no longer father. Loki stood up bidding her goodnight, telling her he will be close by. Sera spent the night crying, promising herself she will find the truth of all of this, even if she dies. No one will be harmed for her, in the name of Hal.
