Chapter 5: Hazel's New Daughter
A/N: this the first time I have written an OC chapter in this story, so don't blame me if it's too short or too long, along with the OC Chapters in the future and I got the idea for Lion King 2 And prepare to meet Hazel's new child: Sorrel.
A few days has past since the rabbits has encountered the Efrafa rabbits and so they had to be on their best guard.
A black with white sides doe who seems to have cuts nearly all over her body, then came through the bushes not to far from the down and seems to a have a little doe in her mouth who mysteriously looks like Hazel.
The doe then later laid down in exhaustion and panting.
The doe then lowered the little doe into the ground and onto her stomach.
"Don't worry little one, we'll be safe soon." Said the doe.
Meanwhile in Watership Down Bigwig then came up to Hazel who was digging.
"Hazel?" Asked Bigwig as he wondered where he was.
"Yes Bigwig?" Replied/Asked Hazel as he came out of the hole.
"There seems to be a doe at the down." Said Bigwig.
"And she seems to be hurt." Said Bigwig as he continued.
Hazel then sighed.
"All right, I'll get Blackberry and we'll be on our way." Said Hazel as he hopped to get Blackberry.
Hazel soon got Blackberry and soon got down from the hill, followed by Bigwig.
"Can I come along?" Asked Blaze as he came down with them.
"Sure." Replied Hazel with a smile.
They later got to the doe.
The doe then squeaked and backed away.
"No, no, it's alright, we're not gonna hurt you." Said Hazel as he tried to calm the doe down.
The doe then calmed down.
"Please, help my daughter, she needs a Father." Begged the doe as she pushed the little doe to Hazel's paw.
Hazel then took the doe in his arms and looks at the little doe and smiled at her cuteness.
Hazel then looks at the older doe but her eyes were closed.
Blackberry then touch the does paw and shook her head.
"She's dead." Said Blackberry as she closed her eyes.
Hazel then frowned and looked at the doe.
"What are you gonna do with the doe?" Asked Bigwig to Hazel.
Hazel then looked at the doe again as it started whimper but soon calmed down as Hazel touches her face with his paw.
"I'll raise her as my own daughter." Said Hazel with a smile as he was finally getting a daughter.
Blaze then came to Hazel.
"Does this mean I finally get a little sister!" Said Blaze with a excitement in his voice.
Hazel then smiled at Blaze.
"Yes, yes it does." Said Hazel.
Blaze then jumped and yelled with excitement.
The baby doe then whimpered and squirmed in Hazel's arms.
Hazel then shushed Blaze.
"Sorry." Said Blaze as whispered.
"So what are you gonna name her?" Asked Blackberry as she admired the baby.
"I think I'll name her; Sorrel." Said Hazel.
"Aw, what a pretty name." Said Blackberry.
"Blackberry, could I ask you something?" Asked Hazel.
"Sure, what is it?" Asked Blackberry.
"Do you think you can feed Sorrel until she is weaned?" Asked Hazel.
"Of course." Said Blackberry.
"Thank you." Replied Hazel.
Hazel then saw Blaze's ears drop.
"What's wrong, Blaze?" Asked Hazel.
"I just thought of something." Said Blaze in a whisper voice.
"Oh, and what's that?" Asked Hazel.
"Well with the baby getting all the attention , what if you forget all about all about me?" Said/Asked Blaze in sadness.
Hazel then hugged Blaze with his other paw.
"That'll never happen Blaze, Your my son and you will always be." Replied Hazel.
Blaze then hugged his father back.
The others soon went back to the hill and Hazel carried Sorrel back up the hill with his mouth.
In a few weeks later Sorrel later became weaned and now lived with Hazel, Fiver and Blaze and Like all siblings they often squabbling and fight.
Sorrel then left the tree and went down the hill to join Blaze and the others.
"Whoa!" Said Hazel as he grabbed her neck with his mouth and took her back up the hill.
Sorrel then tried to go back down the hill again but was stopped by Hazel again as put his paw in front of her.
"Where do you think your going, young doe?" Asked Hazel as he lifted Sorrel and put her down.
"Father, let go." Whined Sorrel as she also laughed.
"Now you know I just want you to be safe." Said Hazel as he was overprotected of his children.
"Father, I know a the rules, please let me play with the others." Said Sorrel as she was anxious to play with her brother and friends.
Hazel then sighed.
"Alright, just don't go to far from your brother." Said Hazel.
Sorrel then squealed as she was happy.
Sorrel then hugged Hazel and nuzzled him in his stomach.
"Bye father." Said Sorrel.
Hazel then returned the hug.
"Bye Sorrel." Said Hazel.
They soon let go and Sorrel soon left to catch with her brother.
Bigwig then came up to Hazel as he understand of keeping a child safe.
They later saw the kittens playing wrestling and smiled at the scene.
Hazel then saw Blaze and Sorrel squabbling and rolled his eyes.
"Your just a scared doe, not a brave buck." Said Blaze.
"Well at least I'm not a joke." Sorrel shot back.
Hazel then sign.
"Right, that's enough." Said Hazel in a stern tone.
"Sorry father." Said both Blaze and Sorrel.
"Now come on inside, it's time for your nap." Said Hazel as he pointed to the tree.
Both Blaze and Sorrel groaned and hopped to the tree with Hazel following them.
