Chapter 6: Shadow Of Efrafa
It has been a few weeks since the Rabbits first encountered the Efrafa and the adoption of Sorrel.
It starts in the morning and some kind of brown rabbit with a weird hairdo was running through a cornfield and was being chased by the same two rabbits who chased Bigwig and the others before unaware that Keehar was following them and fly down to see closer.
The brown rabbit then stopped running after going through a some kind of stone passage before running again before the two rabbits caught up.
The brown rabbit then stood up, sniffing while the black rabbit was sniffing the ground.
They then looked at the brown rabbit's direction and hopped off after him.
Keehar then went closer.
The brown rabbit looked behind him before stopping at a tree with a skull on it and then went behind.
The other two rabbits then stopped at the brown rabbit's location while the brown rabbit once again stood up while sniffing while the black rabbit was sniffing at the ground.
"It's no good, Blackavar." Said the brown rabbit as he hopped further.
"Might as well, give yourself up." Said the brown rabbit.
Blackavar was then shaking.
"Surrender now, and we'll let you live." Said the black rabbit hoping to get Blackavar out of hiding.
Blackavar then attempted to get around the tree before seeing a shadow and gasped.
Turned out it was only Keehar.
"Keehar, help you get away rabbit, no worries." Said Keehar.
Blackavar then moved to get away from Keehar.
"No, no, wait, wait!" Yelled Keehar as he tried to stop Blackavar.
Blackavar then went into the open despite Keehar's warnings and ran right into the black rabbit.
Blackavar then turned around to the brown rabbit and stood up to make sure he wouldn't run again.
The black rabbit then slammed into Blackavar, causing him to fall into the ground.
Blackavar then looked at the brow rabbit who was panting from all the running.
"It's over, Blackavar." Said the brown rabbit.
The brown rabbit and the black rabbit were then hopping with Blackavar who was on his sides to make sure he doesn't run again.
Keehar then looked at them from behind the tree.
"Poor little bunny, Keehar mess pretty big." Said Keehar in quilt.
Meanwhile on Watership Down everyone was inside the warren which was finally built.
"Yes, very good, solid." Said Hazel as he was testing the roots.
"That should keep the rain out." Said Bigwig as Hazel looks at him.
"And have you seen this much open space, in a warren?" Asked Blackberry.
"It's like being outside, but you know, inside." Said Dandelion.
Hazel then dropped his ears.
"And here we are, rattling around like walnuts in a well." Said Hazel as he soon left the warren.
"Now what's bothering him?" Asked Bigwig to Dandelion.
"He's thinking again." Replied Dandelion.
Hawkbit then frowned.
"He does entirely too much of that." Said Hawkbit.
Fiver, Blaze, Sorrel, Bigwig and Hawklaw then joined Hazel.
"I wonder what's keeping Keehar?" Asked Hazel as he was looking at the sky.
"You know him, always sky wondering." Replied Fiver.
"I asked him to scout the Efrafa warren." Said Hazel as he looks at Fiver.
"Frith above!, why?!" Asked/Yelled Bigwig as he was surprised.
"Unless we find more rabbits to join us, we won't last, simple as that." Replied Hazel.
"So you plan on recruiting from Efrafa?" Asked Bigwig.
"There is no where else." Replied Hazel.
"Unless you feel like going back to The Warren Of The Shining Wire Said Hazel as he remember what happened the last time.
Bigwig then rubbed his neck as he'd like to forget that place.
"Not in this lifetime." Said Bigwig.
"But Hazel, from what we know of the Efrafans they live for war." Said Fiver as he remember Bigwig's speech after his first encounter of the Efrafans.
"And the chap in charge; Woundwort, from the sound of him, he's soon as tear you to bits." Said Bigwig.
"Not everything about Efrafa Is bad, from what you told me Bigwig, they don't harm Kittens." Said Hazel as he was relived.
"Yeah that sounds about right." Said Bigwig.
"You wouldn't let them take us ,right?" Asked/Said Blaze.
"Right, you will never be taken away from us." Replied Hazel as he hugged both Blaze and Sorrel.
"Besides if you live there, wouldn't you want to get out?" Said/Asked Hazel as he smirked.
Hazel then went back into the warren with Blaze and Sorrel following him.
"Always thinking, your big brother." Said Bigwig to Fiver.
Meanwhile Keehar then followed the rabbits that took Blackavar then found some kind of a tree with a hole as an entrance with wires and sticks around in the grass field behind the tree.
Keehar then went behind a rabbit and was making sure he was quiet to avert attention and he saw what looks like a jury.
The black rabbit then cleared his throat.
"Bear wittness of Efrafa, fear the vengeance of Woundwort." Said the black rabbit as as the black rabbit known as Woundwort who has a red and white eyes and has a grey underbelly came from the top of the platform.
"The charge?, Captain Vervain?" Asked Woundwort.
Vervain then looked at Blackavar who was shaking And panting.
"Attempted escape," Replied Vervain.
Vervain then pointed at Blackavar.
"Blackavar, of the hind quater mark." Said Vervain.
Woundwort then stood up."
"The sentence is death." Said Woundwort.
"No." Gasped Keehar.
"No!" Yelled someone in the back row.
"No?" Asked Woundwort.
That someone was then revealed to be a golden doe with green eyes And behind her was a white doe with a black tail and two kittens; one doe and one buck who the buck looks mysteriously looks like Blackavar and a doe who is about the size of Fiver and has pink fur and brown eyes.
The brown buck then looked at her with sad eyes and then went to Woundwort.
"Sir, the ancient laws of Efrafa allow a defender in their condened." Said the brown rabbit to Woundwort.
"Woundwort has spoken." Said Vervain as he snapped at the brown rabbit.
But the brown rabbit ignored Vervain and continued on.
"Primrose, of the hind quater mark has requested that honour." Said the brown as he looks at Primrose.
Primrose then got up.
"Yes Sir, I will speak for Blackavar ." Said Primrose.
"If I do not like what I hear you will share his fate, agreed?" Asked/Said Woundwort.
"Primrose, you mustn't!" Yelled Blackavar hoping to change her mind.
Keehar then flapped his wings in anger.
"Stinking, no good." Said Keehar in anger as flew up into the air.
"Yes sir, thank you ." Said Primrose.
The rabbits then looked at her.
"All rabbits have a Frith given to be-" Said Primrose as she prepared her Speech But was cut off by Keehar who slammed himself at Vervain.
Vervain then shook himself and looked at Keehar.
The rabbits then soon ran away.
"Rotten cat faced bullies!" Yelled Keehar in anger as he screamed and attempted to attack Woundwort who backed away and gasped.
Soon there was no one left but the brown buck, Woundwort, Primrose and Blackavar.
They soon looked at Woundwort who was looking at Keehar.
"Sir." Said Primrose as she got Woundwort's attention.
"Blackavar wasn't trying to escape, he was trying to get away from that Gull, just like everybody else." Said Primrose.
Woundwort then looked Keehar and then at the trio.
"the sentence is... Commuted." Said Woundwort as he turned around.
"Thank you." Said Primrose.
Woundwort then went back to his burrow.
Primrose then looked at the brown buck.
"Thank you, Captain Campion." Said Primrose.
"Primrose, you watch yourself now, oh and Vilthuril, that doe is more trouble." Said Campion.
Campion then looked at Blackavar.
"And you watch yourself also, you have a family you know." Said Campion.
Campion then left without another word.
Meanwhile on Watership Down Keehar was then reporting from what he had seen in Efrafa.
"So I make em run." Said Keehar.
Keehar then ran around in circles.
"That Efrafa place is no good for rabbit or Gull." Said Keehar.
Keehar then stopped running around.
"No good, no good." Said Keehar.
Hazel then Looked at Dandelion.
"So there are rabbits there who'd join us, if we can get then out." Said Hazel.
"Easier said then done by the sound of it." Said Dandelion.
"Better not done at all if you ask me." Said Hawkbit as he joined in the conversation.
"Who needs that lot coming after us." Continued Hawkbit.
"It twits my tail, imagine living like that." Said Fiver.
"If Woundwort finds Watership Down before we're up to strength, then you won't have to imagine it." Said Bigwig.
"Then we go to Efrafa, before Efrafa comes to us." Said Hazel.
The next morning after saying goodbye the others then left with Keehar as their guid.
They continued to hop until it became nightfall and stopped at a hill.
"Are we nearly there yet, Keehar?" Asked Fiver not wanting to run any further.
Keehar then pointed to his side.
"River over there, Efrafa is on far side." Said Keehar.
Keehar then lifted his wings.
"Not far now." Said Keehar.
"Right, we'll meet you at the river, keep an eye out for Efrafan patrols." Said Hazel.
The rabbits then got down from the hill.
"Have you worked out what to do once we get there?" Asked Bigwig.
"Check the layer of the land, decide whethever we negotiate with Woundwort or whethever we trick him." Replied Hazel.
"So you haven't a clue then, have you?" Asked Bigwig.
The rabbirts then came across a strange thing to them.
Fiver then bent down and sniffed.
The rabbits then looked around.
"What are these?" Asked Fiver finally.
"Shines like a giant double slug trail, doesn't it?" Replied/Asked Bigwig.
The rabbits then hopped in the middle of it.
"I wouldn't want to meet the slug that made this." Said Hazel.
Suddenly a noise and a light came by and was really fast.
"Run!" Yelled Hazel.
Hazel and Bigwig then got off but Fiver was still standing.
"Fiver!" Yelled Bigwig.
Hazel then jumped on Fiver before the thing could hit him.
"No." Said Bigwig in a whisper as he hoped his friends were alright.
Bigwig couldn't see anything until the thing had gone away.
The bushes then started to shake, revealing that Hazel and Fiver were alive and unharmed.
"Oh, for a minute there." Said Bigwig.
Bigwig then looked at the direction were that thing left.
"What was that thing?" Asked Bigwig.
Hazel and Fiver then hopped to Bigwig.
"I don't know." Replied Hazel.
"I don't think it meant to hurt us, we were just in it's path." Said Hazel as he continued.
"Then let's stay off it from here on." Said Fiver.
Hazel, Fiver and Bigwig then continued hopping until it was sunrise and they were in a field and saw a shadow that spooked them.
Bigwig then gasped.
"Man." Said Bigwig.
"Scatter." Said Bigwig.
They then hid in the tall grass.
Hazel then gasped.
The 'man' didn't seem to move.
Keehar then landed on the 'man''s arm.
"What's got you jumping now?" Asked Keehar.
The rabbits then came out of hiding.
Hazel then poked the 'man'.
"It's not a man, not a real one anyway." Said Hazel.
"It's stuffed with straw." Said Hazel.
"It's some kind of man trick." Said Fiver.
Keehar then poked the 'man's head.
"Didn't fool me." Said Bigwig as he was trying to be brave.
Everyone then looked at him.
"Alright, a bit then." Admitted Bigwig.
"No one tell Hawklaw, ok." Said Bigwig.
Hazel and Fiver then nodded.
"Wonder what's it for?" Asked Fiver.
"Even Frith can't fiddle in the ways of man Replied Hazel.
Hazel then sniffed.
"Come on, I can smell a river." Said Hazel.
The rabbits then hopped ahead to a river with a plank.
Keehar was on the plank.
"Is only way across." Said Keehar.
Keehar then pointed to the other side.
"Bridge up that way, got Efrafa guards watching." Said Keehar.
Bigwig then looked at the small river.
"All those comfortable season at Sandleford Warren, to think of all the adventure we missed." Said Bigwig.
"Boredom's not been a problem now, has it?" Asked/Said Hazel.
Hazel then stood up fully.
"Alright, who goes first?" Asked Hazel.
Fiver then hopped on the plank.
"I'm the smallest." Said Fiver.
Fiver then waited his patience to make sure the plank didn't fall while wagging his tail.
Fiver then went all the way to the end.
"It's fine, come on." Said Fiver.
Bigwig and Hazel then hopped on the bridge to catch up to Fiver.
Everyone then saw Efrafa.
Campion and Vervain were then patroling and stopped at Primrose, Vilthuril, Blackavar and his family, to make sure there wouldn't be another attempted escape.
Campion and Vervain then left again.
The trio then came up after they left.
"Rabbits weren't meant to live like this." Said Fiver.
Bigwig then looked up.
"The sentries aren't looking out for Elile." Said Bigwig as he saw the guards at the tree.
"There making sure, no one escapes." Said Bigwig.
"Well, not everything there is bad." Said Hazel.
Fiver and Bigwig then looked at him with confusion.
Hazel then pointed his paw at a bunch of kittens playing wrestle, the brown kitten looks mysteriously like Campion with a doe with him whose fur was yellow, while a buck and a doe who looks like Vervain while the last buck and doe looks like Woundwort, only without the red and white eyes, while the doe has pure white fur with a black nose.
Promrose and Blackavar then came to the bushes.
"There Blackavar, rabbit who try escape and Primrose." Said Keehar as he nudged Hazel with his wing.
Hazel then looked at Primrose.
"Primrose." Said Hazel.
Fiver then looked at Vilthuril.
"Keehar, who is that?" Asked Fiver.
"That be Vilthuri." Replied Keehar.
Fiver then looks at Vilthuril with dreamy eyes.
Primrose then looked around to make sure no one was looking.
"When I give the word, slip into the brambles." Whispered Primrose.
Primrose and Blackavar then got closer.
"Primrose, Blackavar." Whispered Hazel.
Primrose and Blackavar then jumped in fright.
Hazel soon revealed himself.
"Dom't let on we're here." Said Hazel.
Primrose and Blackavar then lowered themselves.
"I'm Hazel, we've come to get you out, be ready when-" Said Hazel but was soon cut off.
"You two!" Yelled Vervain.
Primrose and Blackavar then gasped.
Hazel then gasped and got back into the brambles to avoid being seen.
Campion and Vervain then caught up to them.
"Your off your mark, no more silflay!" Yelled Vervain.
Fiver then accidentally snapped on twig.
Vervain then growled and ready to attack.
"Run Blackavar!" Yelled Primrose.
She and Blackavar then ran.
Vervain then looked away from the bramble and started chasing the two.
Hazel then got out of the brambles and gasped as he saw that every rabbit then captured Primrose and Blackavar and took them inside the warren.
"She saved us." Said Hazel.
"Still think we can talk to this lot?" Asked Bigwig.
"No." Replied Hazel.
"But I'm going getting Primrose and Blackavar out of there." Said Hazel.
"I don't see how." Said Bigwig.
Fiver then panted back and forth.
"The only way out is to go straight through, if two go in then out come two." Said Fiver a a he had a vision.
Fiver then held his head.
"Well that's as clear as mud." Said Bigwig.
"It means that two of us have to go down there and get Primrose and Blackavar out." Said Hazel.
"Oh be serious." Said Bigwig.
"Bad idea, I think." Said Keehar as he agreed with Bigwig.
"Bigwig, Keehar, you stay here to back us up, when we need it." Said Hazel.
Keehar then nodded.
"If thing's go wrong, if thing's go wrong, you take over Watership Down and take care of Blaze." Said Hazel.
Hazel then looked at Fiver.
"You ready, little brother?" Asked Hazel.
"At times like this, I wish I never had these vision, and I wish you didn't trust them." Replied Fiver.
"Your mad, both of you." Said Bigwig.
"Which just might get you through this, we'll be watching." Said Bigwig.
Bigwig and Keehar then went to the other side.
"Good lucks!" Yelled Keehar.
Campion and Vervain then came out of the entrance.
Vervain then sighed.
"What gets into these rabbits?, trying to run off like that?" Asked Vervain to Campion.
They later got on the field.
"My guess is, they don't like it here." Replied Campion.
"It's changed since General Woundwort arrived." Said Campion.
"Thar sounds suspiciously like disloyalty." Said Vervain.
"My loyalty lies with Efrafa, always." Said Campion.
"And with General Woundwort." Said Vervain.
"I'm Owsla, he's my chief." Said Campion.
Campion and Vervain then stopped at they saw the kittens lined up and decided to keep a low profile.
"And the weasel came at me, eyes glowing in the dark." Said the Buck that looks like Woundwort As he crawled on the grass.
"And then you ran didn't you?" Asked the Doe that looks like Campion but suspiciously looks like Blackberry.
The doe who looks like Vervain ran around.
"I would, I'd run like Eli-rah." Said doe.
"Running isn't always the answer to everything, Vervinia." Said the Buck that littlerlrey looks like Campion.
Everyone then looks at him.
"Running isn't always the answer to everything." Repeated the Buck that looks like Vervain.
"Well it isn't, Father said so, and who wants to hear a story about running away." Said the Buck.
"Look do you want me to tell The Weasel Story or not?" Asked theBuck impachientnley.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah." Said the kittens And nodded at the same time.
Campion and Vervain then came to them.
"No they don't." Said Campion in a stern tone.
The kittens then looked at them.
"If you think I'm going to let you listen to that story again, after the nightmare from last time, forget it." Said Campion.
"Cardon, Calla, come along." Said Campion.
Cardon and Calla then groaned.
"Aw Father, he was just getting to the good part." Whined Cardon as he followed Campion along with Calla.
Vervain then looked at his Kittens.
"And you know I don't allow you to listen to that story, especially since your Mother almost killed me the last time you heard that story, now come along Vervinia and Kasrahalt." Said Vervain.
Kasrahalt and Vervinia then groaned and followed Vervain.
"Shame on you Grian and Mulva." Said Campion.
Grian and Mulva then lowered their heads.
"Wait till your Father hears about this." Said Vervain.
Campion and Vervain then went to the field with the kittens behind them.
Hazel and Fiver then came up to Campion and Vervain.
"Take me to your leader." Said Hazel with Fiver behind him.
Hazel and Fiver were taken inside were there were two guards one having light more brown fur then Campion's while the other one was purple, with kittens besides them that look like them, only without the scratches on their face over a huge bolder.
The purple one then moved the bolder.
Hazel and Fiver were then inside with Primrose and Blackavar.
The bolder was then closed.
"So they caught you, anyway?" Asked Primrose.
"Actually no, we gave ourselves up." Replied Hazel.
"And you come to get us out?, odd way on going about it." Said/Asked Blackavar.
"I had to see you again, didn't I?" Asked/Said Hazel as he looked at Primrose.
Hazel then turned his head.
"Oh, where are my manners?" Asked Hazel.
"This is Fiver, my brother." Said Hazel.
"Hello Fiver, tell me is your brother is just a touch mad?" Asked Primrose.
"He has his moments." Replied Fiver.
Campion and Vervain then came to Woundwort.
"He says he's the chief of a great warren, he wouldn't say where." Said Campion.
"He doesn't look much like a chief." Said Vervain.
"And what does he want?" Asked Woundwort.
Campion and Vervain looked at each other.
"He want to ask you, what you prefer; War Or Peace, Life Or Death." Said Campion.
Meanwhile With Hazel was telling the others about Watership Down.
"You can see forever, and the wind blows clean and free." Said Hazel.
"Don't talk about your warren anymore." Said Primrose.
Primrose then shook her head.
"I don't want to hear it." Said Primrose as she closed her eyes.
"What's wrong, Primrose?" Asked Hazel.
"In Efrafa, it's better not to dream to a better place, because you always wake up to these walls." Replied Blackavar.
The bolder then started to move and Vervain was sitting next to the purple rabbit.
Hazel and Fiver then looked at Vervain.
"Good news Primrose, you and Blackavar are being freed." Said Vervain.
Primrose and Blackavar then looked at each other.
"Everyone gets to see Woundwort deal with these two." Said Vervain.
Fiver then gasped.
A blue rabbit with a scratch on his leg then appeared at the field.
"To the Gathering Place." Said the Rabbit.
The Rabbits then came inside the warren.
"Something's happening." Said Bigwig.
"Oy. Oy, bout time, it's boring watching bunnies." Said Keehar.
Primrose, Vilthuri, Blackavar and his family were surrounded by everyone in the warren.
Vervain and Campion then came out with Hazel and Fiver.
"Hazel." Said Primrose.
Hazel then looks at Primrose.
Hazel then looked at the other direction and then going to Primrose.
"Whatever happens, I'll get you out, believe that, hold on to it." Said Hazel.
"I will Hazel, I will." Said Primrose.
Primrose then placed her paw on top of Hazel's, almost like they were holding hands.
Campion then came in between the two interrupted the moment while growling and sent Hazel to Fiver.
Primrose and Blackavar got closer.
Hazel then looked at them and turned away and looked on the platform on top of them And saw Woundwort.
"You ask which I prefer; War or Peace, I answer: War, you ask which I prefer; Life or Death, i answer: Death." Said Woundwort.
Blackavar then closed his eyes.
"All your questions are answered." Said Woundwort.
Everyone then looks at Woundwort.
"Execute them on my command." Said Woundwort.
Hazel and Fiver then gasped.
Primrose then gasped as well.
Campion and Vervain then raised their paws along with two others.
The guards then got closer to Hazel and Fiver.
Bigwig then got into a fighting position.
"I'll take a few before they get me." Said Bigwig.
Keehar then raised his wing in front of Bigwig.
"No good Bigwig." Said Keehar.
"Fiver's vision say two come out." Said Keehar.
"He didn't say which two." Said Bigwig.
"Wait, trust Hazel." Said Keehar.
Bigwig and Keehar then looked again.
The guards got closer.
"Where is your warren?, outsider." Said/Asked Woundwort.
"Tell me and live." Said Woundwort.
"I can't do that, General." Said Hazel.
Woundwort then scraped his claws in anger and stood tall.
"He comes from another Warren, a great one he claims." Said Woundwort.
Woundwort then raised his paws.
"I will destroy it, his people will become mine." Said Woundwort.
Hazel then looked at Woundwort in anger before Turing his attention onto Fiver, who seems to shaking.
"They will obey me, and live through me." Said Woundwort.
Woundwort's voice seems to be in Fiver's head.
"Live through me, through me." Said Woundwort in Fiver's head.
"Those who don't will die, except for all the kittens of course." Said Woundwort.
Woundwort then started to go back to his burrow before turning his head.
"Strike!" Yelled Woundwort.
Vervain then smirked as he turned his head to face Hazel and Fiver.
Hazel then turned his head again and again to see who will go first.
Fiver then moaned.
"Darkhaven Is destroyed." Said Fiver.
Woundwort then rises his head in surprise.
Vervain was about to swipe his paw at Fiver bit was stopped.
"Hold!, he said Darkhaven." Yelled/Said Woundwort.
The rabbits then looked at him.
Fiver was still shaking.
"The fire in the fields, the man with the gun, save him Laurel." Said Fiver as he was seeing things and hearing things.
Woundwort then lowered his head.
"Laurel, my mother." Said Woundwort in a low voice that only he could hear.
Woundwort then held his head.
"Clear the gathering place, everyone underground!" Yelled Woundwort.
Soon everyone left But Woundwort, Campion, Vervain, Hazel and Fiver.
"What just happened?" Asked Bigwig.
"Don't ask,?, Keehar just simple gull." Replied Keehar.
Bigwig and Keehar then looked at the entrance again.
Woundwort then came down from the platform.
"Only the Black Rabbit of Inlè, could these things." Said Woundwort.
"Weasel coming from the bushes, getting closer and closer, smelling the blood, to tired to run." Said Fiver.
"To run, to run." Said Fiver in Woundwort's Head.
Woundwort then had a flashback with him when he was young and behind them was a fire and in front of them was a weasel who looks just Like the weasel who gave the Watership Down rabbits trouble before and was growling at them.
The weasel then got closer.
Laurel then looked at Woundwort then smiled before jumping on the weasel.
Woundwort then covered his eyes to prevent seeing this, as did the present Woundwort.
"Get out of my head." Said Woundwort.
Fiver then collapses into Hazel's arms.
"Who are you and what in Frith's name is he?" Asked Woundwort.
Hazel and Fiver then backed away with Campion and Vervain following them.
"I told you, we are from a great warren, our Owsla as many as the stars and silent as The night." Said Hazel as he was lying.
Hazel then got near the edge with Vervain and Campion following.
"And they are all around." Said Hazel.
Everyone then looked at the brambles were Bigwig and Keehar was,
"Keehar, move fast and move along the bushes., Shake them" Said Bigwig Catching on to Hazel's plan.
"Let show em, there's an army up here." Said Bigwig as he left.
"You got hopes." Said Keehar.
Keehar then flapped his wings and started shaking the bushes.
Vervain then gasped when he saw the bushes moving.
Campion then raises his paw and looks at Hazel.
"I wouldn't, Campion." Said Hazel.
Hazel and Fiver then turned to face Woundwort.
"You seen what Fiver could do, harm us and his dark spirit will torment you forever." Said Hazel.
Woundwort was shaking.
Hazel and Fiver then leaped of the edge.
Campion tried to go after them but was stopped by Vervain.
"Stay away from then you fool!" Yelled Vervain.
"There coming out." Said Bigwig.
Bigwig then turned to Keehar.
"Get ready to move fast, Keehar." Said Bigwig.
"Only way Keehar knows." Said Keehar.
Hazel and Fiver then got to bushes were Bigwig and Keehar was.
Campion and Vervain then turned around to face Woundwort.
"Your order?, sir." Asked/Said Campion
Woundwort then closed his red eye while growling.
"Track them down, destroy them, find their warren, smash it!" Yelled/Replies Woundwort.
Woundwort then clutched his paw.
"No one, nothing stops Woundwort!" Yelled Woundwort.
Later they were at the fields were Bigwig and Keehar was.
Campion then came to Woundwort.
"Sir, from the tracks there was one rabbit." Said Campion.
Woundwort then widen his eyes.
Hazel, Fiver and Bigwig were running through the cornfield were they came from.
Woundwort, Campion and Vervain then found their tracks.
Fiver then stopped to catch his breath.
Bigwig then came to him.
Fiver then turned his head to Bigwig.
"Don't wait for me." Said Fiver in raspberry voice.
"Run you half size puddle of Frog water or I'll slap your ears off." Said Bigwig as he hit Fiver to keep him running.
Fiver then ran with Bigwig behind him.
Campion, Woundwort and Vervain were hot pursuit.
Hazel then looks at Keehar who is in the sky.
"Keehar, we need a distraction, something to slow them up." Said Hazel as he and the others were heading in the fake man's direction.
"This way." Said Keehar.
Campion, Vervain and Woundwort were following the tracks.
Woundwort then gasped As did Campion and Vervain did as well.
They saw the fake man.
"Oh, get off my field, you big fat rabbits." Said Keehar in a fake voice.
Vervain then screamed as he, Woundwort and Campion went backwards.
The fake man started to wobble revealing Keehar was on top of the man's head.
"That bird is one of them!" Yelled Campion.
"I don't care if They have The Black Rabbit Of Inlè, after them!" Yelled Woundwort as he started to chase the others again with Campion behind him.
Keehar then got off the fake man's head and flew to catch to Hazel and the others.
Fiver and Bigwig then hopped faster to catch up to Hazel with Woundwort and Campion behind them.
Hazel was the fist to get on the wooden plank with Fiver and Bigwig behind.
Woundwort then got on the plank and it moved.
Campion then got on the plank but the plank fell into the water and him with it.
Woundwort then turned his head to see Campion in the water before Turing his attention to Hazel and the others.
Hazel then stopped and turned around to see that Woundwort was still on their tail.
Bigwig then got on top of the hill were that thing that nearly squashed Hazel and Fiver from before.
Bigwig then heard the sane noise from before from that thing.
Bigwig then turned around.
"Come Fiver, dig deep lad." Said Bigwig.
Hazel and Fiver then got down from a hill before going uP the hill were Bigwig was.
The thing got closer and Hazel was the last one to get across before Woundwort.
Woundwort then stopped as the thing came and closed his eye with his paws on his head.
Hazel, Fiver and Bigwig went up the hill.
When the thing was gone, Woundwort then opened his eye and put his paws down and looked around to see but no sight of Hazel or Fiver.
Woundwort then growled and looked at the sky.
"I'll find you outsider, the world isn't a big enough place to hide, I'll hunt you till Frith falls from the sky outsider, do you hear me?!" Asked/Said Woundwort.
Woundwort then left.
Hazel was watching from behind a bush before turning around.
Bigwig and Fiver were panting.
"Well this mere outing wasn't a smashing success; no requites, lucky to escape." Said Bigwig.
Fiver then turned his head at Bigwig.
"And we made an enemy that won't rest until Watership Down is destroyed." Said Fiver.
"What happened to you back there Fiver?" Asked Hazel as he was concerned for his little brother.
"I've never seen a vision take you like that before." Said Hazel.
Fiver then turned his head to face Hazel.
"I hope it never does again, Woundwort's full hate and fear and lost." Said Fiver.
"It just swept over me." Said Fiver as he turned his head.
Hazel then went Fiver.
"It saved our lives, Fiver." Said Hazel.
"If two go in, then out come two." Said Bigwig as he understand the vision now.
"And two left behind." Said Hazel with a sigh.
Hazel then looked at the sky with a flashback of Primrose.
"We'll be back." Said Hazel With confidence in his voice.
"Not today, chum." Said Bigwig as he was to tired to go back.
