DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN ANSATSU KYOUSHITSU IN ANY WAY. IT BELONGS TO THE AWESOME MATSUI YUUSEI.
The Ryokan
It was obvious that the school favours those who are not of the E-Class.
It was so obvious.
First the difference on the train. Those in the other classes were allocated seats in the First Class cars while those in the E-Class were given seats in the normal car. Now it was shoving the rejects of the system into a ryokan while the rest of the year group got to stay in a luxurious hotel.
The difference in treatment, one that is worlds apart, has been caused, set and installed by the society that surrounds them. The social expectations dictates the actions of their lives, dreams and even family relations. Look at the fucked up relationship between Class A's Asano Gakushu and his father Asano Gakuho, the school principal. If one is still not convinced, look at the relationship between Nagisa and his late mother.
Forcing your son to dress up as a girl just because you have the power to make him do so when he was a child is just screwed up. Just because a mother has authority over her child does not mean that she can abuse her power. Sometimes, it may be too much for their child and one day, they might just snap.
And sometimes that snap might just end in a death.
Sometimes.
Just as the group was approaching the road that lead to the ryokan, Nagisa smoothly changed his pace to perfectly match Karasuma's and tilted his head to the side slightly before smiling sweetly at his father.
"The assassin from the tram ride is following us," Nagisa's eyes took on a dead gaze as he looked up at Karasuma, " Some of the kids are starting to be aware of someone staring at them even though they don't know who it is." Then, in a lowered and colder tone, "Do you want me remove him?"
Karasuma turned his head slightly to catch the sight of Red Eye standing in the midst of a tour group around 300 metres behind before he looked down at Nagisa with a complentating look in his eyes. "He's not a threat. Besides, this would actually be a good experience for your classmates to train up their senses and awareness to their surroundings."
The parent-child duo turned to look at the group, fully expecting to see the class to be doing normal things like taking pictures with the beautiful background scenery or to be reading the information pamphlets that are accessible to the public. Instead, they were greeted with the sight of chaos.
Okajima, the resident pervert was crouched behind a tree and taking picture of busty tourists. Okano had climbed up a tree with Takebayashi's glasses in one hand. Said blind person was attempting to climb up the tree that Okano was in, but kept on losing his footing due to his impaired sight. The idiot trio were being asked to show their ID by the security guards because they were glaring at everything in their line of sight. Karma was busing haggling with a store owner over a golden coloured key chain that costs 1000 yen.
The rest were busy playing a game that they had come up by themselves. They still haven't come up with a name for the game yet but it was pretty much tossing a rubber knife between a group. The only thing was that no one is to call out who they were going to pass the knife to, or even when. Oh, and by tossing the knife, it was actually more like aiming and hurling the knife at a vital part of another's body. It is essentially an elimination game. Once your hit, your out. The winner gets a pudding from the first loser.
Sometime Karasuma wondered if they were all screwed up and already had a tendency towards violence even before the mission from the government came in. But now what needed to be done was to get everyone together again so that they could continue making their way back to the ryokan. But even before he could say anything, Karma, who was watching the duo after he had managed to bring down the price of the key chain to 500 yen, straightened up and called out in a clear voice, "Everyone, fall in." Silently, the rest of the class gathered quickly without a fuss.
It's not that the class had chosen Karma to be their leader. It's just that when Karma actually speaks to them with that tone that he had used instead of his usual teasing tone, they know that they should just shut up and listen.
Nagisa and Karasuma stood at the back of the class who were now silently following Koro-sensei down the street towards the ryokan. No one knows when it started but everytime the class is on the move to a new location, the father-son combo always watched the group's six while the best fighters of the class, such as Karma, Chiba, Terasaka, Hayami, were scattered evenly throughout the crowd and always positioned themselves at the sides. The front was always spearheaded by Koro-sensei himself. Unconsciously, the hierarchy of the class had formed.
However, even with that class structure present and obvious to even the stupid, there were some people who still tried to approach and man handle some of the E class students. There was one incident where a few punks from a local school decided to try and pick on Kanzaki and Kayano.
The key word is try.
What those delinquents didn't know is that recently the students of the End class has not been only training with BB guns and rubber knives but also with real military issued knives such as the Strider SMF after school has ended. The idea was proposed around two months back by Karma which was then backed up by Nagisa. Something about real-life self defense. But admit it, anything proposed by Karma must have some devious reasoning behind it.
There was one person who had protested against teaching the students how to handle real knives and that person was Bitch-sensei herself. However her protests were shut down when Karasuma kindly, not really, to "shut up and go practice with the kids. Other than a pistol, you're even more pathetic than them." and that was the end of the protests.
So now all the students carry a knife on their body at all times. Some students such as Isogai, Yoshida, Maehara and the sniper duo carries two knives with them. Of course there are the exceptions such as Karma and Nagisa, whom everyone doesn't dare to ask how many knives they carry with them.
Simply put, those local fools didn't know what they were getting themselves into because 5 minutes after they cornered Kanzaki and Kayano in an abandoned warehouse, they ran away screaming and crying with red marks on their necks that suspiciously looked like knife marks.
Now looking at the students, Karasuma could see that at least half the class especially those particularly good at fighting all had one hand slightly closer to their secondary weapon as compared to before. Chiba and Hayami were discreetly looking around, trying to pick out their stalker. They knew that their stalkers general location but they were still unable to distinguish exactly who it is. So despite looking carefree, most of students already had their guards up and the rest of the class was catching on quick.
Quickly ushering the class in, Nagisa took a moment to look at the rokyan again. Now that he was looking at it for a second and longer time, the ryokan actually didn't look that bad. Sure the garden was overgrown with weeds but at least the place wasn't run down. He's stayed in worse places than this.
After dinner, Karasuma and Koro-sensei both gathered all the students in the teachers' room for a class debrief.
"What do you think it's about? We've never had a debrief before."
"Maybe it's because this is a school trip?"
"Probably to discuss about today's events."
Once everyone settled into the room, some sitting and some leaning against the walls, Karasuma started the debrief.
"I'm sure that by the end of today's trip everyone knew that they were being followed right?" At this questions, heads were nodding, realizing that they were finally going to get answers. Karasuma took a deep breath before continuing. "The person who was following you today is actually a hitman who had tried to assassinate the target back when we were on the tram ride. He goes by the name Red Eye." But before Karasuma could continue he was interrupted by Fuwa shoving her hand in his face.
"Sensei, what's his specialty?"
Pushing Fuwa's hand away from his face, he announced, "Sniping."
After he had not-so-gently flicked away her hand, Karasuma looked at Koro-sensei who flickered away for a split second before he came back with a struggling bound and gagged man.
After Koro-sensei unceremoniously dumped Red Eye on the tatami floor, not bothering to be gentle, he proudly waved all his tentacles at the assassin and announced, "THIS IS GOING TO BE YOUR NEW TRAINING TEACHER!"
Silence
Koro-sensei was posing, as if he had just done the world a favour while the entire of Class E was just staring bug-eyed at Koro-sensei before looking at Red Eye for a few seconds then looking back at Koro-sensei. Finally, they decided to just stare at Karasuma-sensei, hoping that he will be the voice of reason behind all this madness.
Karasuma-sensei heaved a large sigh before launching into the original explanation that he and Koro-sensei had originally agreed on. Obviously the target decided to abandon it for a more flashy one last second. Dramatic octopus.
"This here," Karasuma rudely pointed at Red Eye who was still lying on the floor, "is Red Eye. After the tram ride the other day, the target and I approached him about a job is to teach this class how to snipe, or for some of you, to polish your sniping skill." At that both Chiba and Hayami both straightened up slightly, but notably. Even Yoshida, who was trying to break open all the mechanisms on Red Eye's gun case stopped and looked at said assassin in a different light.
Though of course it's easy to look at someone in a different light if your first impression of them is them being tied up, gagged and wriggling pathetically on the floor.
Some students wanted to question his capabilities as an assassin because, "If he's a trained assassin who's been in the field for a few years now, shouldn't he have some back-up plan to cut himself loose?". Koro-sensei answered that query in the form of parading all of the knives and tools that he had confiscated from the assassin. Red Eye managed to have a surprising amount of knives hidden away seeing how today he was wearing just t-shirt and sweatpants. There was even an icepick hidden away. Not sure what he needed that for…
After watching Koro-sensei juggling all the tools for a few minutes, Nakamura finally took pity on the soon-to-be-teacher and started to undo the ropes and the gag. After the gag was ripped off the assassin's face, it was like a dam exploding.
"WHY THE FUCK DID YOU TIE ME UP AND GAG ME? I ALREADY TOLD YOU THAT I WOULD COME PEACEFULLY!" Everyone for a moment saw Red Eye with shark teeth and surrounded by a crimson flame as he screamed at Koro-sensei and Karasuma-sensei. Once he finished screaming at the two teachers, he hunched over and took a few deep breaths as if to steady himself. After the fifth breath, he stood straight up and spun around to the students quickly enough to give someone watching whiplash.
"Nice to meet you all. Code name is Red Eye but from today on, call me Asahi-sensei you brats."
