A story that I thought in the middle of insomnia.
Endnotes.
A lucky magician
~Dining room~ late
"and that is the reason why I am known as the ultimate illusionist instead of a magician" Himiko said with her slow and lazy voice.
"..." Naegi had nothing better to listen to with an awkward smile on his face.
The two had found in the school dining room, and as usual for Naegi, he started a conversation with the 79th class student Himiko Yumeno.
Of course, that he had only asked how she was about being a first-time at this academy, but in the same way as when they were first presented, Himiko had complained again about how people do not believe in magic, to which led to another explanation about a secret cult that seeks to keep hidden everything related to magic.
And as always Makoto responded with the same incredulous face ... at least he knew he was not the only one, something he was glad about.
"nhaa, what a tired" said the small girl holding back a yawn.
'The fact that Himiko is always sleepy reminds me so much of her' Naegi thought as he thought about her friend from class 77.
Wanting to continue the conversation, Makoto started to speak.
"Still, about your talent... have you been improving?" It was a strange question, but at least he hoped to have some answer from the girl.
"... well, I've been practicing my spells better... now I adivine cards in record time" Himiko stated in her lazy voice.
'It's normal for me to feel tired just listening to her' Makoto wondered, he had a suspicion that Himiko's laziness was contagious.
"but, even so..." the girl started to fade.
"Something happens?" Brushing away the tiredness that suddenly appeared in him, Makoto adopted a worried voice to what the girl was trying to say.
"..."
"what happens is not many want to see my magic, they say it's boring" Himiko's characteristic lazy voice was replaced by one of disappointment.
"Umm, well I know there are people like that... but that does not mean that people do not want to see your talent in action, I'm sure there is someone who really would love to witness a trick from you" said Makoto with a smile and voice full of energy.
"... do you believe?" Himiko said raising her gaze and focusing on her older student.
"Completely" the ahoge boy said with a nod.
"but who would like to see a magic trick now?"
"Well, have you asked your classmates yet?"
Himiko's head returned to the ground with a defeated look.
"How about my class?"
Himiko's head leaned against the table.
"Or to class 77?"
The girl's gaze was now sad.
"I've already asked them, but ... nothing"
"Seriously everyone?" Makoto said surprised.
"I made sure to ask them in their spare time, when I knew it was the best time"
'Wow, how bad is it?'
"B-but I think I believe it, even the 77th class, but if they like almost everything..." 'and more if it's Nagito' Makoto made sure to think that last.
"well... the people I asked were... Togami, Hiyoko... and Iruma"
"..." Makoto didn't reply quickly.
'You went to ask the worst of them directly' Makoto thought with a grimace.
"Listen to me Himiko, you may think that people think that what you do is boring 'and especially if it is those three', but I am sure that everyone else will love your tricks, after all they are your friends and I know they will be willing to help you if you ask them" Makoto's smile returned to where it belongs.
"do you think I have to ask them again?" she said with a smile and her own lazy voice.
"I've got to go with you ... after all wizards need an assistant... right?" He said with a slightly uncomfortable smile for offering himself as an assistant like that, but he hoped that Himiko was able to fix herself.
"would you do that for me" Himiko's voice now had more energy.
"Sure, if it's not a nuisance" one thing Makoto knew now is that the emotion that came out of Himiko's voice was completely contagious.
"..."
"..."
"..." Makoto felt uncomfortable again at the girl's sudden silence.
"Deal" Himiko said with a red tint on her cheeks, one that was overlooked by the lucky student of 78th class.
~Bell~
"..."
"Well that's my bell" Naegi scratched his cheek.
"Is that okay with you, if later we get ready and start?"
"yep" said Himiko with a nod.
"See later" Makoto said as he left the dining room and said goodbye.
"see... later" it was unnecessary to say goodbye, after all the lucky one was already gone.
And without him now the dining room had a single person.
A person in an empty and quiet dining room.
A quiet dining room.
"ummh?"
This may be a quiet dining room, but still Himiko wondered what that sound she was hearing was
"Is it normal... that I hear a heartbeat?"
Himiko Yumeno the ultimate illusionist (magician) student, now knew something new.
"is Makoto Naegi perhaps a magician too?" she asked herself that question by bowing her head.
'and if so'
"Why would Naegi want my heart to act this way?"
The story of the magician and the lucky boy one continues… maybe
End!
I have been wondering for a while what it would be like to make a story with these two cute characters, Makoto and Himiko themselves if they are not a popular ship... but to some extent they have their charm... at least for me.
We read each other another time
