Chapter 11: Reunion

Link slowly looked up at Deka . He could feel that his face was still blushed. "Honey yah still blushing." Deka laughed as Link timidly looked away from her. Deka chuckled looking at the blonde. She looked over at Zigor to see how he was enjoying this but he just rolled his eyes.

"Let's go to the mess hall. We can get something to snack on and chat." Zigor suggested as he looked at Link and then to Navi. He hoped it might get their minds off of whatever Deka and Eznik said to them. He started to walk out of the room.

Deka grabbed Link's hand pulling him off of the bed. "Come on, Honey, let's-a get you fed and moving." Link stumbled a little looking awkwardly at Deka. Out of the corner of his eye he looked at Navi who still was hiding. He looked back at Deka as she let go of his hand.

Deka looked at Link. "Go on now, honey. I'll get yah little friend. Zigor will show yah the way." she insisted as she smiled at Link, pushing him along. He shook his head walking out of the room feeling like he had no choice. He looked up at Zigor who was waiting for him.

"What did they say to you, Link?" Zigor asked curiously. He started to walk down the hall. He glanced back at the teen who was slowly following. Zigor sighed and turned, putting his hand on Link's shoulder. "Relax, we're all friends here." he said assuringly as he smiled.

There was a quick flash that blinded Link for a second. He looked around confused. They were in a new room with a few circular tables with hovering chairs around them. He looked at Zigor confused as his ears dropped.

"Welcome to the mess hall." Zigor proudly announced as he removed his hand off of Link's shoulder. "Sorry, didn't feel like walking when teleporting is easier." He walked over to a machine. It was simple like a vending machine but it had a dialing panel, no place for money deposits and no pictures of food choices. Zigor looked back at Link.

Link looked around the room studying it. He figured at this point he was never going to catch up with new world. He shook his head as he walked up to a hovering chair placing his hand on it. This place was still so strange to him. It was the first time that he really had a chance to look everything over. He looked over at Zigor who was standing next to a weird machine.

"Come over here" Zigor requested as he nodded his head towards the machine. Once the blonde walked up to him he turned to the dialing panel. "Pick ANYTHING you would like to eat." He glanced at Link. He knew the non-merges reaction was going to be entertaining.

Link looked at Zigor, not sure what joke he was trying to play. "Ham?" he spoke up unsure what to say. "A sandwich?" Zigor asked him. Link nodded a little. Zigor dialed on the panel. There was a beep from the machine and a small compartment opened. Zigor pulled out a sandwich on a plate holding it out to Link.

Link stared at it totally baffled and then looked the machine over. "How did it..?" he started to ask as he took the sandwich. Zigor responded as he tapped on the panel. "Some complicated engineering and atom manipulation or some crap like that." The machine beeped again as another small compartment opened. Zigor grabbed out a blue soda holding it to Link. "Try this, I'm sure you never had anything like it before." He smirked.

Link took it studying the can. He noticed that there was a small tab on the top. He walked over to the table setting the plate down on it. He sat down in the chair holding the can. "Did you talk with Brat a lot?" Zigor asked the teen as he started dialing on the panel to get himself some food.

"Just a little." Link spoke shyly as he pulled the tab on the can, opening it. He winced at the popping noise it made. He looked at Zigor as he walked over and sat down next to him, handing him a small bag of potato chips. "Eznik said she killed people, is that true?" Link asks Zigor nervously as he takes a drink. A disgusted look covered Link's face from the taste of the drink. He wished to spit it out but chose not to be rude. He disapprovingly swallowed it.

Zigor chuckled, moving a small carton in front Link. "My guess is you didn't like that all that much. There's some milk in this, hopefully that's something you will like." Zigor offered as he looked at his can of soda, opening it as he ran Link's question through his mind. "To be honest, I really don't know what happened that day. All we have are the rumors and the news reports as our information. She closed off to us after that."

Zigor took a drink leaning his chair back some. "My guess is that most of it is true, by the way Brat responded to such, hiding away, cutting herself off from her friends and family. According to the news reports she killed hundreds of thousands of people in under a half hour. Bodies of the dead looked as if they had been half eaten or worse. Mass slaughter as they put it. Only one survivor was reported that day other than Brat."

Link looked down at his food as he spoke. It didn't seem right. How could she have eaten people? It didn't make sense..and that many, ridiculous? he thought. She seemed like a nice and normal person, no way, any of that could be true, he assessed. So it is that he wondered why her father and friends would even consider such a possibility?

"What happened to the survivor?" implored Link not wanting to ask how she supposedly ate the people or why he would even believe such of his friend.. Link looked at Zigor surveying him as he took a bite out of his sandwich.

Zigor glanced over at Link. "She's wondering when her sister is going to stop running and just come home to her and Eznik. So everything will just go back to normal." he iterated as he then took a drink of his soda. "I believe Eznik knows what really happened that day, but he swears he doesn't. Still, whenever he speaks of it he seems to look guilty for it, like he's holding back.."

Link opened the small milk carton taking a drink of it. He set it back on the table. Happy that it was something he liked, still, nothing like how it was at home. His mind went through all what Zigor had said. He knew Eznik knew how to lie, by how much he'd hide from Autum. He took his sandwich biting into it. It tasted like the sandwich Brat had fixed for him.

"So how was she doing?" Zigor asked Link trying to get away from the topic of Brat's killings. took a long chug of his drink as he waited for his reply. "She seemed to be doing fine. She was on Eznik's ship when we met up with her. Um.. is it normal that she talks to herself?" Link asked him trying to distinguish if such was normal..

Zigor laughed as he stood up. "You should see her when she's programming. She gives lectures to the computer." He walked over to the machine to get himself another sandwich. He dialed on the panel. "It's good to hear that she is still her same old self. You want another sandwich?" Link nodded at him. He dialed the panel again and he pulled out 2 more sandwiches. He walked back over to Link sitting down.

He handed Link a sandwich. "So… what do you do as Brat's 'crew'?" Link asked. He wasn't sure what a crew would do in a place like this, what kind of jobs there would even be. He grabbed his drink and took another gulp.

Zigor took his sandwich putting his feet up on the table relaxing. "I am a pilot. I drive these spaceships like we're on right now. I point it in a direction, pick the speed and steer it on. Now Deka, she is into combat and 'spy' stuff.. so she claims. She's not the best at it but it's enough to get by, I guess. It's worked out so far. What's it like where you're from? What kind of work do you do, Link? And your little fairy friend, what does she do?" Zigor quizzed him.

Link leaned back in his seat trying to relax some like Zigor as he picked up his sandwich ready to take a bite. "Where I'm from is a lot different. And Navi and I don't truly have jobs as in your way of things. Our life so different then here. I see very little in common with this place and where I am from." Link paused as he bit his sandwich, chewed and swallowed then he continued on wishing to express the unbelievable differences between the two places.

"First off, we don't have such... um.. Machines…that cook ..and all the other things that I've seen these machines do… We have no metal buildings or the like. Nor are there lights held in bulbs or walls that have ears or ceilings that have eyes. Nothing like this. Nothing even ocean of stars lies above us as we live on a planet. Hyrule is covered with forest, rivers, plateaus, mountains, lakes and small villages. There are a few castles but the only place that is really crowded or busy is Hyrule market, but nothing like the space station that I went to."

Zigor smiled softly. "Sounds like a peaceful place." He looked up at the ceiling thinking about his own comment. "I would like to visit a place like that. It would be no doubt far less hectic and where one would be able to relax, have nothing to worry about, just feeling the breeze of the wind."

Link looked at him. He was more than surprised that Zigor seemed to want to visit a place like that. Though he remembered Eznik seemed to know the planet where they fought Kwan at. His guess that they were in these metal machines a lot, so a planet would be a peaceful change. "So where are you from? Or were you born on one of these ships?" he asked as he bit back into his sandwich.

Zigor looked at him; it was a painful set of memories Link had hit. "The place where I am from is basically destroyed. All the trees, wildlife, cities all destroyed because of a bastard who betrayed his own people to the dimensional government." he stated as simply as he could without going into too much detail.

Link could tell by Zigor's tone that he had hit a nerve. He understood why, for it sounded like a bad memory and he knew about those. He looked away from Zigor, not sure what else to ask now; not sure where to steer this conversation from here for fear he'd hit another nerve. He was used to Navi keeping the conversation going. He really wasn't good at it though he had surprisingly felt quite at ease with Zigor.

Zigor wished not to be rude. It was just that Link bringing up that memory had put him in a cautious mode. Zigor knew it was totally understandable that he would ask such a question, especially not knowing his history, yet he found that he had lost his desire to be accommodating. He kind of had a sick feeling of leftover memories. The two sat in silence as they finished up their food.

"Awe come on out sweetie." Deka urged Navi. "None of us are going to condemn yah for what yah said, not even yah liddle cutie boyfriend." She pulled up a chair sitting on it, as she waited for the faerie to say something.

Navi came out from under the hat, revealing only her eyes. She looked at Deka, not sure what to say. She could feel that her face was still red. She didn't want to be made fun of for it. She didn't want her to figure out how important and embarrassing this was to her.

Deka smiled at Navi. "It's okay sweetie. He got the hots for yah, so yah should be happy about that. I may be no match maker but the way he reacted, I know he does." she said trying to cheer up the faerie the best she could.

Navi let go of the hat smiling a little looking at Deka. "Really think so?" Navi asked her. She stood up as Deka nodded. "I'm sorry about getting you upset sweetie, didn't know that he liked yah and vice versa. Don't worry yah just got to wangle him up on a leash. Snap the whip and get him to do what he needs to."

Navi stared at her. "I like how he is… he might not… ." She looked down at the bed in her embarrassment as she sat back down in her frustration with it all. "Show.. that he likes me… but I think.. just knowing he cares is enough for me." she confessed as she smiled meekly to Deka.

"Sweetie, sweetie. Saying that means yah don't know if he really likes yah the way yah like him. Yah need to build up the courage to ask him." Deka contested as she watched Navi reaction. She observed Navi look away.

Navi was remembering what Link had said to her. She closed her eyes and sighed. She opened her eyes as she felt Deka pat her on the head. Deka could tell that Navi probably had asked the teen about it. "Awe, sweetie, come on, tell me... what did he say?" Deka inquired.

Navi looked up into Deka's brown eyes. "He said he never thought about it before… Also, that he didn't know how he felt." she rendered as her ears drooped. Her heart sank wanting to know how Link really felt about her. The feeling that he had left her with at the moment was just confusion and heartache, because he didn't know what his feelings were. He's never even contemplated such.

Deka nodded at Navi. "Well yah two have been through a lot. I think he just needs time. And he is a shy one, yah know." She smiled, getting up. "Don't worry about it, things like this take time, and nourishment. Yah can't hurry love. There's no pushing or rushing it. So when yah get time when yah all get back home, ask him again." Deka stretched as she brushed back her hair. "Shall we meet up with the guys and get sumpin to eat?" she asked as she looked at Navi.

Navi stood up slowly holding onto Link's hat. She nodded a little. "Yah… may I sit on your shoulder?" Navi asked as she looked up at her. Deka smiled holding out her hand to Navi. Navi climbed up, tugging Link's hat along with her. She climbed onto her shoulder sitting down.

Zigor glanced over at Link. He let out a sigh not sure what else to silence was starting to bite at him. His ears perked up as he heard familiar footsteps. His eyes went to the door as Deka walked in. "Ello boys!" Deka waved at them. "Yah ate without us? Yah know yah both need manners!" she joked as she walked up sitting on the table next to Link.

Deka looked at Link as she sat there. She took Link's hat from Navi and held it out to Link. Link looked nervously at the offering. He then snatched it and placed it on his head. "So, was Zigor a good little boy?" she sarcastically asked. Link looked at her unsure of how to respond to such a question.

Zigor snapped out something in another language as she responded in the same language, leaving Navi and Link out of the loop. Deka grinned at Zigor. She said something else to Zigor in the language. He responded pointing at Link. The two then bickered in the other language. Link looked down not sure what they were saying. He felt a bit awkward as the two seemed to be talking about him.

Deka shook her head. "Sorry yah two." She smiled at Link as she hopped off of the table. She took Navi off of her shoulder, setting her on the table. "Do yah want anything to eat Navi?" she asked as she headed over to the machine.

"Something small?" she threw out not sure what was being offered. She looked over at Deka as she started to type on the panel of some machine. There was a small beep. Deka pulled out a couple of sandwiches. She walked back, dropping it on the table next to Navi.

Navi jumped a little as she dropped the plate on the table next to her. She then looked at the plate with the two sandwiches. The bread looked to be a grey tone. As for the meat it was a white color and seemed to have a blue tint like veins running through it. Deka sat down in the seat. She grabbed the sandwich and pulled off Navi a piece. "Here try this."

Navi took it looking it over. It looked like it was old. It appeared moldy to her. Still to be polite she took a small bite into it. Her ears perked as she sat down eating the rest of it. "What is it?" Navi asked. Link looked at Navi and then to Deka wondering the same.

Deka pulled off a piece for Link. "It's called Tyruhs, it's from my home. My mom use to make it all the time." she happily offered as she took a bite out of her sandwich. She glanced over at Link to watch him eat his piece. She smiled that the two seemed to like it. "So what did yah talk 'bout,...me... perhaps, probably?" she asked the two guys looking at them.

"Nothing that you would want to know." Zigor replied. He watched Deka get up walking over to the machine again. "What you two have, a 'girlie' 'girl' talk?" he jibbied. "Nah, we talked about how much yah know... drink." she snidely responded as she dialed on the panel getting herself a drink.

"Daddy!" A young girl screamed out as she darted into the room at full speed. She jumped and tackled Link out of his seat. She hugged him tight. "I missed you so much!" She cried out and then followed by a few things in a demonic language.

Link let out a small cry out from the small girl's weight as he laid on the floor underneath her. Link looked at the pink hair pigtailed girl who was hugging him. He winced a little as she squeezed him tighter. He had no clue who this girl was or why she was calling him daddy. Link looked at Zigor who was busy snickering. Link's ears dropped as he was pinned to the ground by this little girl.

Navi looked at the girl on Link. She looked to be about 13 or so. She had four wings on her back. Navi held her tongue as Deka walked up to Link. "Rin, sweetie that's not yah daddy." She pointed at Zigor who was looking away, obviously trying to avoid the fact that the girl was there.

Rin let go of Link who exhaled. He started to catch his breath from the squeeze the girl had had on him. "Oh I'm sorry!" She looked up to Zigor with her gold eyes. "DADDY!" She jumped up and tackled him off of his chair.

Link sat up slowly as he looked at Zigor and Rin. They looked nothing alike. He slowly got up to his feet. It felt like he had been hit by a bull. That little girl had some strength to her. He looked to Deka as if asking for an explanation. She just smiled at him.

Deka's attention turned to the door as two redheads walked into the room. "Oh isn't it my two favorite goobers!" Deka shouted as she got up and walked over to them. "Yah both better give me a big hug or else!"

A young girl with red spiky hair ran up and gave Deka a big hug. She was wearing overalls that were way too big for her. She wore a green long sleeve shirt with huge sleeves on them. "Deky!" She let go of Deka looking up at her. "Have you seen my daddy?" Deka nodded. "He's resting right now, pumpkin." Her attention then went to the young teen who looked to be 15.

"Awe Sakki yah have grown!" Deka hugged him tight. "It's nice to see you too Deka." He said as he hugged her back. He wore a black hoodie that had some red markings on it. An oversized mouse ran out of his hoodie up Deka's arm onto her head.

"Awe my baby!" Deka squeaked as she let go of Sakki. She pulled the mouse off of her head. "Oh how is my baby!?" She kissed the mouse on the head. "Did Sakki and Gotenoo treat yah nice during the weeks?" She smiled as she rubbed noses together.

Link and Navi watched the group. Link smiled that they all seemed happy to see each other. It made him feel more at ease. He looked at Navi who was sticking out her tongue in disgust to Deka and her mouse. Link chuckled a little while watching her.

Navi looked up and smiled at him, blushing a little. She looked down at the table not sure what to say to him. She felt a small pat on her head by Link's finger. She looked up at him thinking about what Deka had said to her.

Zigor finally pried Rin off of him as he stood up. He looked down at Rin smiling awkwardly. He looked at Link and Navi who were looking at him curiously. He let out a small sigh brushing back his bangs. He wasn't sure how to explain any of this to the non-mergers. He just shook his head. "I'll explain this later…" he commented as he then looked away as Rin held onto his arm smiling so happily being reunited with her "father".

Deka looked at Sakki. "So where is Atia and Gajra?" she asked Sakki as she set the mouse onto her shoulder. Sakki looked up at her. "Not sure... they walked down one of the other halls. I would assume they went to find Eznik." he informed her as he just then noticed the two non-mergers. He peered at the young blonde with a piercing glare. Link was shocked when their eyes met.

It was like he had shot daggers into them. Link looked away. He got shivers up his spine from the kid's glare. He wasn't sure what was up with the kid but it gave him the chills. He got the feeling the kid wanted to kill him, but he didn't know why.

"Who's the two new people?" Sakki spoke up as he studied Link's reaction. His eyes trailed to Navi who was looking at him. He smiled at her softly.

Deka smiled, putting her arm on Sakki's head. "Oh right." Deka exclaimed as she looked at the two smiling, deciding if she wanted to tease them or not. She decided to give them a break "These two are non-mergers, Link and Navi. They are friends of Eznik, Autum and Brat."

Deka then pointed at Sakki. "This little goober is Sakki. He probably wants to kill yah Link, because he's sexist!" She pointed her thumb at Gotenoo who waved at the two. "That pip squeak is Eznik's other daughter, Gotenoo. And the liddle pink haired demon is Rin. She's Zigor's little daughter.. And last but not least, this little fella is Echa." she stated as she patted the mouse on the head.

The two non-mergers looked at the odd group that they were introduced to. "Hi." Navi spoke up. She looked at Gotenoo who walked up to them. "You're a very pretty faerie, miss. Are you a princess?" she asked as she smiled at Navi. Navi scratched the back of her head a bit embarrassed. "Thank you but I'm no princess."she awkwardly replied. Gotenoo looked up at Link studying him. "Thank you for saving my dad from the dimensional police." she said as she smiled at him.

Link nodded. "It was nothing." he said though in his heart he still felt horrible for they had left Brat and Celtic behind. He sat down looking at Gotenoo who sat down as well. She seemed to be watching him. "I-is there something else you want to ask?" Link finally queried as he couldn't' take her staring at him any longer

Gotenoo bit her thumb trying to think of what to say. "Brat… She seemed ok, right? She didn't seem paranoid, did she?" She looked up at Link looking for an answer. She just wanted Brat to be like how she use to be, before that day.

Navi looked at Gotenoo as she conveyed "She didn't seem paranoid. She seemed to be more worried about Eznik's wellbeing. She planned the whole escape. She seemed perfectly fine." She smiled at Gotenoo trying to help comfort the girl's feelings. Gotenoo looked at Navi smiling happily.

Link smiled a small smile trying to show that he agreed. He looked over at Zigor who sat on the other side of him. He watched Rin as she ran off to the machine to grab some eyes slowly drifted to Deka and Sakki who both seemed to be off in their own conversation. Link lifted his hat up as he ran his hand through his hair trying to keep his mind off of what was coming ahead. The things that the rest of this group seemed to be avoiding as much as possible till they had to truly address it..
