Deka snickered as Link tossed Zigor over his shoulder. She went to remark to Gotenoo about the dynamic toss but noticed she had fallen asleep on the ground. She hopped off of the chair. "Yah two can stop." She directed as she walked up to them. She arranged Link's hat on her head. "Yah, getting better… Honey." she praised winking at Link. "Zigor, why don't yah put Gotenoo to bed; she's had a rough day." She nodded over at Gotenoo.
Zigor sighed as he sat up. He got to his feet rubbing his head as he looked over at Gotenoo asleep on the floor. "Fine… fine… It's your turn to train with him…" Zigor said as he shook his head and walked over to Gotenoo picking her up. He vanished with her.
Deka smirked and she walked back to her chair. She tipped it over nudging it to where Zigor was last standing with Gotenoo. She backed up… surveying; making sure she had the chair right where she wanted it. She looked over at Link.
Link raised an eyebrow wondering what she was doing. "Yah ever heard of the saying Look before yah leap?" Deka questioned Link as she walked up to him. He replied with a nod as he looked back at the chair. "Well, let's say Zigor hasn't learned to look before he leaps… the second time." she giggled as she looked at Link.
A yell came from where the chair was. Then they heard a crash bang as they quickly looked over to see what was happening. Zigor was lying on the ground tangled up in the chair. "DAMIT DEKA!' Zigor shouted as he held his face. Deka chuckled. "Eznik warned yah about that and has pulled that trick on yah several times yet yah still don't learn, do yah Zigor?" Deka yapped. Zigor glared at her.
Deka looked at Link. "Shall we continue yah'r training? I'm going to toss some punches and kicks at yah and I want yah to block 'em." Deka tittered completely ignoring Zigor's incessant cussing in another language.
Link glanced over at Zigor who sounded rather angry. He didn't know what to say or do for him so he just nodded at Deka as he got into a stance. Deka tossed a couple of slow punches to get him prepared for her faster ones. She continued speeding up her kicks and punches, but he was able to keep up.
Link watched her attacks closely, watching how she built speed while learning how to block them. He was definitely getting the hang of it when he abruptly let out a yelp as he fell on his ass. He glanced at Deka's tail wrapped around his knee that had pulled him off of his feet. He looked at Deka who was laughing. He shook his head as his attention then went to the door as he heard someone clapping.
Autum was standing there. Her dress was rather casual not at all her usual look. She was wearing a loose blue shirt with a pair of tight black pants with holes on the thighs that billowed at the bottom of the legs. Her hair was cut short to her shoulders and was pulled back in a low ponytail. "You could probably beat her Link if she didn't use cheap tricks when she fights." Autum conveyed as she walked into the room towards Link and Deka.
Deka grinned at Autum as she raved. "I see that yah still admire my lovely techniques. Perhaps even a little jealous of such… maybe, someday I'll teach yah some." Deka studied Autum as she walked up. "Yah know yah look a lot different without yah long hair." Deka reported as she brushed back her own hair. "It doesn't look so bad. Don't yah agree Linky or do yah only get the hots for women with long hair?"
Autum glanced at Deka shaking her head while she held out her hand to Link who seemed a bit shocked to see her. She pulled Link up to his feet. "It seems you've been keeping busy with the rat and the drunkard." she razzed as she glanced at Zigor who was sitting on the chair watching them.
Link nodded a little. "They've been helping me learn hand to hand combat…" he stated as he looked her new look over. He then noticed her studying his garbs. He let out a sigh fearing she was going to make fun of his tunic as well.
Autum tugged on his sleeve. "Nice tunic. I believe that is what it is called, right?" she quipped; she knew that the two 'wonder twins' probably already teased him about it. She looked over at Deka who was grinning at Autum. "Do you have something to say rat?" she snapped. "Or do you just like standing there looking stupid?"
Deka chuckled. "It's just nice to see yah being nice to someone. And I have to admit I've never seen yah'll in normal clothing either. Oh my god… that like makes yah 'almost' a normal mortal!" she laughed joking with Autum. She then added in an exaggerated tenor of 'supposed to be' whisper "Hey…in case yah didn't know…so to save yah any awkward moments… Linky here has a crush on yah."
Link looked at Deka; shocked. "N-No I don't!" he spat at her trying to recover his dignity. He blushed some as he glanced at Autum looking for her response to such nonsense. She chuckled as she watched Link freak out. "He's just as bad with Eznik; can't take the teasing." "Mustn't do much joking where he comes from." guessed Deka.
Link looked at the ground. His ears drooped; …great… he thought, now he was going to be stuck being teased. Suddenly he winced as he felt a hand on his head. He looked at Autum who was smiling at him.
"You need not get so worked up about what these little twerps say. Besides it's all in fun…mean, vindictive and crude…but all in the name of fun." she smirked. Just how could they think this is fun, he wondered? He let out a sigh of disparagement.
"Want to spar, so I can see how much the rat's training has helped or if she's ruined you for life?" Autum jest as she continued to use his head as an armrest. "Boy, looks like you got a nice shiner on your cheek."
"Come on Autum… At least make it a challenge… Zigor get yah ass over here!" Deka looked over at the teen who gave her the bird. "What yah a chicken? Afraid to get owned by a girl?" she impishly implied. Zigor looked at her; pissed. "Why don't' you fight and get your ass handed to you?" he rebuked.
Deka put her finger in her ear; scratching as she answered. "I have been busy training with Link and ya'll well rested. So get up here and yah might actually learn how to fight." Zigor sighed getting to his feet. He walked up to the group with his ears drooped; knowing he and Link were both going to get their asses kicked.
Autum sneered as she moved off of Link's head. She backed away from Link, finding her a spot. "I guess you get to work on team work, though if I were you I wouldn't count too much on the drunk." she jibed glancing over at Zigor as she spoke to Link.
Zigor walked up and grabbed the back of Link's collar dragging him away from Autum. "Listen…" Zigor said speaking as quietly as he could since he knew how proficient Autum's hearing was. "We got to attack her together… I'll lead for a distraction, follow after and give a good punch to her gut."
Link nodded a little, this was the first he really worked with anyone to fight. He looked at Zigor, he seemed rather serious about this. Link prayed that this wasn't another little game of these jokesters' as he followed Zigor who slowly walked back towards Autum, taking his fighter's stance.
Autum chuckled as she looked at the two of them. She walked over to a spot getting into a casual fighters stance. She glanced at Deka nodding to let the rat know she was ready.
"Alrighty ladies! Let's get the fight on a roll!" Deka announced grinning at the two.
"Ready?" Zigor looked at Link who nodded. "Keep up." Zigor darted at Autum with Link following close behind. Zigor threw a punch at her but vanished before she could even block it. Link swung his fist at her surprised as she blocked it by catching it.
As Autum hung onto Link's fist she swung up a high kick; hitting Zigor in the face as he reappeared. Link grabbed his wrist trying to free it as he swung with his leg hoping to catch her off guard. Autum let go of his wrist and shoved him back causing him to lose his balance. She let out a small groan as she was kicked in the side by Zigor.
Link stumbled back but caught his balance. He watched Autum punch at Zigor and ran up grabbing her from behind. Link let out a yelp as she banged him in the face with the back of her head. She ducked low and kicked hard tripping Link as he grabbed his injured nose.
Autum glanced at Zigor who appeared next to her. He slammed his fist down at her. She swiftly dodged it as she got up to her feet. She glanced out of the corner of her eye as the teen reappeared. She leered at him as she gave a fast uppercut to his gut. She moved next to him and kicked out his leg from under him.
Autum let out a small chuckle looking at the two. "You two lasted a bit longer than I expected." Autum commented as she held out her hand to Zigor. She pulled Zigor up to his feet. She studied him as she did. She guessed that the only reason she could sense where he was teleporting was because he drank unlike that Elite Tea who clearly had full control over her power. As for Zigor, it was clear after the few teleports he executed he had overexerted himself. He looked like he might pass out.
Deka approached Zigor as she watched Autum advance Link. He sat on the floor tending his facial wounds. A large grin covered Deka's face as she turned facing Zigor and sent her tail out in front of Autum. Autum caught unaware and stumbled over Deka's tail falling right on top of Link. Her chest was right in his face. Autum pulled herself back off of him as she looked down at the teen. She witnessed the color flushed across his face. Autum shook her head with a small grin on her face as she stood up.
Deka and Zigor were both snickering. "Looks like yah finished him off with your boob smash." Deka laughed, nodding at Link who was still stunned looking down at the ground. He was bright red. " Deka glanced at Zigor. "Yah ain't be laughing is yah? Cause we all know that boob smash would have done you in far worse than it did Linky here. If yah had tits that big landing in your face, by George… yah would've had a heart attack; Mr. I'm not any good around the opposite sex. And I guessing that's because they have tits."
Zigor veered away turning red himself…red with anger. Autum held out her hand to Link. She pulled him to his feet. She looked over at Deka shaking her head. She should've guessed that the rat would pull something like that. She let out a sigh observing Link who was staring at the ground. "I'm fine…you fine?" she expressed trying to get him passed it. "They're as bad as my brother you know." Link thought them far worse but he'd never dare say so.
"Yah got to give credit where credit is due, we're much better than Eznik. Our jokes, yah know yah enjoy them, especially when we get Eznik with them." Deka bragged as she walked over to the chair sitting down in it. She glanced at Zigor who quickly vanished. Her guess he was more than pissed with her for such a teasing especially since he was one that can dish out but can't take in. And she bet… he didn't want to set himself up for more torment by passing out in front of everyone. It was pretty obvious he pushed his limits of teleporting. No doubt he's passed out on his bed right now...that is if he had enough strength left to teleport properly.
Link was a bit flustered about the teasing; knowing that he somehow was going to have to get past it. When they weren't teasing they were the nicest people, he thought but this teasing kept pushing him out of his comfort zone. His ears were drooping as he let out a small sigh wondering if Navi was doing ok.
Autum rolled her eyes at Link who was looking away from them. She just was not quite able to put hands around the idea that he is so shy and easily discomfited. "Well, are you done being embarrassed Blondie? If so, shall we get you a bit better at hand to hand combat so then I can get working on training you with your sword?" She questioned him; she knew he still needed a lot more training if he wanted to survive the fight ahead.
Link nodded, rubbing the back of his neck trying to calm down. He found it hard to believe that Deka actually considered that Autum was nice to him for to him it seemed she liked to harass him as much as her and Zigor. "Deka get up here." Autum asserted. She decided she was going to make Deka suffer for teasing Link by using her in her little prank. She was going to make Deka be the dummy they tested things on.
Deka got up brushing back her hair as she walked up nonchalantly to the two. Since Autum had used her name instead of calling her 'rat' she assumed that something was going to be coming her way. Her guess was that it was payback for tripping her and cracking the joke at her expense. She walked up next to Link removing his hat from her head and plopped it onto his. She looked at Autum with a big smile on her face; as if saying 'just try it'.
"You get to help out; since Zigor already ran off. I guess you're the next best jackass. You and I are going to do a little bit of sparring so Link can see how some of the more advance blocks are performed in conjunction with complicated attacks." Autum spoke as she backed up from the two.
Deka sighed. "Yah better move honey." She looked at Link smiling who was fixing his hat. She got into her own stance. "Anything goes?" Deka asked. "Or just hand to hand?" Autum rebuffed. "It's your choice rat." Deka chuckled. "I guess no weapons then; I rather not contend with your sword. Let's do this!" Deka smirked as she darted at Autum jumping over and swinging a kick at Autum.
Navi's eyes shot open and she looked around at her surroundings. She let out a small sigh as she rested her head back as everything hit her. She held her head. She felt calm though energy seemed to continuously rush through her. Her ears perked as she noticed someone humming. She stood up in the small bowl she was soaking in looking to where the humming was coming from.
Gajra was sitting on a hammock that was made of vines. He had an old tattered book that he was reading as the hammock swayed back and forth. He glanced over at Navi as he stopped humming. He closed the book getting up to his feet.
Navi climbed out of the bowl. She fell immediately to her knees as if her legs couldn't support her. She let out a cry. "What's wrong with me!" she whined. She was able to stand in the bowl, but why not now?
Gajra walked up to the dresser putting his book on it. "You're fine. Your body is just adjusting to the gravity… give it a minute." He spoke quietly as he studied her. He still wanted to ask her a question though he believed he already had the answer.
Navi slowly got to her feet. She stumbled a bit trying to get her footing. She looked back at her wings as they flapped. She stared at her wings shocked; there were light blue markings covering her wings that looked the same as on the flower.
"Those are Irisous markings; they are one of the few things that set Dimensional Faeries apart from the other faeries. They are writings of the old language of dimensions; well that is …the rumor about the markings anyway." Gajra spoke as he walked up to her.
Navi jumped up letting her wings hover. She smiled as it seemed she could fly a lot faster than before and it all just seemed easier. She shot up into the air and laughed. It seemed things were going her way. She was going to be helpful after all! She zoomed around Gajra, circling him over and over but stopped as he held up his hand.
"You do know… if you fly as fast as you can you will be teleported?" Gajra questioned her. Her expression told her answer. "Sit down." He nodded to the table. He had his answer, and with that he was pretty sure he knew who she was. He sat down on a chair looking at her. "You don't know anything about what you are, do you?"
Navi looked down as she spoke. "Actually the Great Fairy had just revealed to me what I was so to help me and Link to be able to return here to help Eznik. She unsealed my memories but so far all I have are pieces. I don't have enough that tells me anything essential. Brat was the one who told me what happened to the dimensional faeries. Other than that I only have bits and pieces; nothing that makes sense of what is what." admitted Navi as her ears drooped.
"I'll try my best to tell you about them and who you are. You're the one who Destiny brought to the planet Sanctuary. You should have been dead, but Destiny saved you. She wanted to change your destiny so that's why she brought you to that planet. The Seer, Shukun, helped her decide a place where you could adapt and live peacefully away from all of this. I guess the fates had another plan for you despite how well-planned and how far away they sent you; here you are." Gajra professed as he looked at her. She looked to the ground.
"Your name is Kyou… you're the older sister of Keiko, she is the one who fell in love with the mortal man. You had been looking for her for a long time. But then you were captured… and Destiny is the one who saved you from certain death." Gajra spoke as he looked up at the ceiling.
Navi stared at him. He knew more about her and her life than she did. She got up to her feet; pacing. "B-b-but how do you know all of this? Did we know each other; were we friends?" She questioned him.
Gajra shook his head as he answered. "I was a friend of your sister's. As for why I know about you; I lived on the Planet Sanctuary. I met with Destiny when she brought you there." Gajra looked away from her as it seemed more than just a distant memory. He hated that planet along with the seer.
Navi was surprised. He knew her sister? She looked at the ground, trying to figure this entire thing out. She didn't even know her sister. She didn't even know she had one. She held her head, wishing she could just remember it all. She plopped down on the ground as she let out a frustrated sigh. "Can you tell me about my sister; for I have no memory of her?"
"She was very sweet, but naïve." he started. He wasn't very good at describing people, like he use to be. "She looked a lot like you, but without the dyed purple hair." Gajra got up to his feet. He wasn't sure what else to tell her. He hadn't seen Keiko in years, and as far as he knew she could be dead.
Navi looked at the table trying to remember. But all just sounded like words, nothing more; not part of her life. "Can you teach me to teleport?" she asked. She realized that she couldn't' be worrying about her forgotten memories. She needed to focus on being there to help Brat and Celtic; and Link. She needed to be there for Link.
Gajra shook his head. "I can't help you there, but I'll have Zigor teach you. You may teleport differently but it is the same basics. You will be able to teleport faster and more accurate than he can." Gajra looked at her, hoping to give her some hope to hold onto.
Navi smiled as she got up to her feet. "So can we go talk to him?" She jumped up flying up to Gajra. He replied with a small nod heading towards the door as Navi followed behind.
Link swung a punch at Deka hitting her in the face. She swung back hard with a hit to the gut. She used her tail to trip him. She stumbled back some herself, rubbing her cheek. She looked at Link who was lying on his back; by the looks of it he wasn't getting back up. Deka sat down on the ground trying to catch her breath. She looked over at Autum who was watching the two.
Link closed his eyes panting. He was covered in bruises. Autum had been making him and Deka go through an endless series of drills. He didn't know how much more he could take at the rate that Autum was pushing them. He was sore, tired and was pushing himself as much as he could to keep going.
Autum looked at the door. She grinned at Navi as she rushed into the room. "Link!" Navi squealed and flew up in front of him. She looked him over and whimpered. He was covered in bruises! What type of training was he going through?
Link opened his eyes. He had a black eye and bruises on his cheek. He smiled at her. "Hey." He said weakly. "Are you ok Link!?" She questioned him as he sat up slowly. He nodded "I'm fine." He winced some as he held his side. "It looks like Gajra was able to help you."
Navi nodded. She glanced over at Deka who didn't look quite as bad as Link did. "What type of training did they put you through?" Navi quizzed as she looked over at Link. He grabbed his hat off of the ground and let out a small yawn as he rubbed his eyes. "We did a bunch of different training drills that Autum taught us."
Autum looked at Gajra who was standing at the door. She studied him; he looked like he was looking for someone. She wasn't sure if she should ask him what he wanted or not. Gajra turned to Autum. "When you see Zigor, tell him I would like to speak with him." Gajra requested and then walked on down the hall.
Autum looked at Deka. "You can go get yourself cleaned up. I'll take his training from here." Deka chuckled as she got to her feet. "I'm sure I can do that type of training." Deka grinned at Autum as she walked passed Autum. "Don't be too rough… I'm sure his little friend wouldn't be too happy."
Deka let out a yawn as she walked down the hall. She stretched her arms and shuttered some from the pain of her sore muscles. She hadn't done that much training in a long time. She was going to get some rest after she took a shower. She walked up to one of the spare bedrooms.
Deka noticed that the sheets had been pulled down off of the bed. She walked over to the other side of the bed to see what the problem was. Her heart sank as she saw Eznik lying on the ground. He had a needle sticking out of his chest; it looked like he was trying to treat himself.
Deka ran up to the intercom on the wall. She dialed a few numbers. "AUTUM! I need you in spare room 12, it's Eznik!" Deka screamed over the intercom. She ran up to Eznik and checked for a pulse. It was very slow and he was very pale. He was in bad shape.
Autum took off out of the room. Her hearts raced; she knew it could be only one thing. She noticed that Link and Navi were following. Autum ran into the room running up to Deka who looked like she was on the verge of tears.
"Deka I need you to go to Eznik's room… there's a green container under his bed. I need you to get it as fast as you can." Autum spoke to her as she got on her knees checking Eznik's pulse. Deka nodded and took off out of the room. Autum looked at Link. "I need you to grab his legs. We are going to get him up on the bed."
Link nodded, he wasn't sure what was going on. He didn't understand what could be wrong with the doctor. He grabbed Eznik's legs and helped Autum gently place him on the bed. "What's wrong!?" Navi cried; she couldn't stand being quiet anymore. She wanted to know what was wrong with Eznik.
Autum looked at Link. "Go get a wet rag from the bathroom." Autum nodded towards the room. Link ran into the bathroom as Autum gently pulled the needle out of his chest. She observed Eznik, trying to determine how bad his condition was, completely ignoring Navi.
Navi let out a small whimper; she was panicking for she had no clue as to what was going on but she knew it was bad. She looked at Deka who ran into the room with the container. She held it out to Autum who took it. Autum opened it and set it on the bed. She started to mix the vials. "Is he going to be ok Autum?" Deka asked concerned; she prayed that she had found him in time.
Autum nodded a little as she hooked up the medical gun. She shot it into Eznik's chest. She took the rag from Link and put it on Eznik's head. She let out a small sigh; they wouldn't know how bad it was till later, but she didn't want the others to worry about Eznik. "Go on and get yourself cleaned up Deka. I'll call you if his condition changes at all."
Deka nodded as she looked at Eznik who didn't look any better. "I'll be in the room next door, when Zigor wakes up, I'll tell him what's going on…and give him Gajra's little message as well." relayed Deka as she headed to the door. She looked back at the two non-mergers who had their eyes locked on Eznik. She knew it would be better if Autum explained what happened to Eznik and why it happened. She then walked out of the room.
"Link, I need you to go to the medical wing. When you walk in on the right… the first cabinet, open it and look for a white case with the numbers 37hb2." Autum instructed as she looked back at her younger brother worried about his condition. "Navi you go with him." He figured that Navi wanted to stay and drill her with questions but Autum wasn't in the mood for explanations right then.
Link ran out of the room. He glanced at Navi who flew alongside. "What do you think happened?" Navi looked at Link as she spoke. Shaking his head Link ran into the medical wing, "I don't know but it seems like he must need whatever is in the case." Link ran up to the cabinet opening it. It was filled with white containers. He ran his finger down the boxes till he pulled out a rather large container that had a handle on it. "Got it." he said as he darted back out to the other room.
Autum looked at the two as they ran into the room. She grabbed the container from Link and set it on the bed. She opened it up pulling out the equipment in it. She started to set it up so she could keep an eye on Eznik's status.
"What happened to him? What's wrong with him? He was fine earlier today." Navi grilled Autum as she flew up in front of her. Navi looked down at the machines as Autum started to hook them up to Eznik.
Autum looked at Navi and then to Link. "He had a major heart attack; he's been pushing his body too hard. With his lack of sleep, going through the dimensional police torture and him torturing himself with his guilt over his daughter's capture, finally put too much stress on his hearts." Autum said as she looked at Eznik. She hooked up a couple of devices to his chest.
Autum let out a small sigh. She was sure Eznik hadn't explained everything to them. She turned on the machine and it started to beep. "He's dying, he has been for awhile." informed Autum as she looked at them. "Our species only lives 28 years and he's coming close to his 28th birthday. His condition has gotten worse over the last so many months."
"But you're his older sister, aren't you!?" Navi drilled trying to make this make sense. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Eznik was only 27 and he was going to die!? Their species only lived 28 short years; that was horrible. They barely even had their lives started and it ends. It didn't make sense! And besides Autum was a fighter; she puts much more stress on her body. Why was she still alive?
"I'm a rare case… My hearts didn't stop working. As for my twin and Eznik's twin they both underwent a surgery that lets them live longer. Our older brother and sister; I'm pretty sure they sold their souls to a demon so to live longer." explained Autum
Link ears drooped as he looked over at Eznik. "Why doesn't he get the surgery?" he asked, confused with such. It would only make sense that he would have the surgery so why is it that he hasn't? He didn't want to see Eznik die. He is a friend. They risked a lot to return to help him and yet his time is already cut short.
"Because only one person knows how to do the surgery" Autum declared. "And he refuses to teach anyone. One reason.. is that people would use it against our species, because we are a rather disliked species. Number two he just doesn't feel like he deserves it, from what he has done in his past." Autum rattled on, pausing as she looked at the two, they looked like they were trying to hold on strong from the news they just heard.
Autum looked at Eznik. "He's too stubborn to die now; not with so much at stake. So don't you two, worry about him. He'll be fine." She spoke as if she was trying to convince herself of it as well. She knew in the end his time was running short, though she didn't want to believe it. She had always kept the idea of it safe in the back of her mind so she never really had to deal with it but now it was staring her in the face.
Navi flew up next to Autum. "Is he really going to be ok?" she asked. Navi looked into Autum's eyes; she knew there had to be more to this. Autum looked at Navi. "To be honest, I can't tell you what damage has been done, till after he wakes up." Autum paused looking at Eznik and then continued "You should go get yourself cleaned up Link. You both can use Eznik's room. There will be a small green bottle in the bathroom that should help with the bruises and the pain." she advised looking at the teen. "When he wakes up I promise to call you two."
Link nodded a little looking at Navi. "Don't you worry too much yourself, Autum." Link spoke up looking at her. "We need you to be focused, in case he doesn't get better in time to pull this off." he counseled as his heart ached. He didn't want to think about that option but knew it could be a reality.
Autum nodded as she looked at him with her blue eyes. "Go get some rest." she urged. "Don't make me tell you again." She heaved out a sigh as she knew that he had been through a lot and this was the last thing the teen needed; seeing one of his friends laying there holding onto his life.
Link nodded and then walked out of the room with Navi following behind. He looked down at the ground as he walked down the hall. It didn't feel right that Eznik was dying. He was only 27 yet there he was laying there with all of those machines hooked up to him.
Navi looked at Link. She didn't know what to say. Everything was looking up but then it crashed rock bottom with Eznik. She closed her eyes and let out a small sigh. She prayed to the goddesses that Eznik would be fine.
Link tossed his hat onto the bed. He walked into the bathroom. Looking at the mirror he examined the bruises that were on his face. He let out a small sigh as he rubbed his bruises a little. He looked at Navi in the mirror as she sat on his shoulder. "You holding up ok?" he asked.
Navi nodded a little as she looked over at the tub in the room. She winced as he picked her up and set her on the sink. Link took off his belt, his mind was wandering… he couldn't' stop thinking about Eznik. He glanced at Navi as he took off his boots.
Link took off his tunic so he stood with his white pants on. He walked up to the tub studying it. He pushed one of the buttons as the shower started. He winced from the shock of it. Navi let out a small laugh as she jumped up. She flew up where the water was coming from. "It's like it's raining." she giggled as she put her hand in the water.
Link smiled at her and he looked to the other set of buttons. He pushed another one of the buttons. The shower went off and the tub started to fill up. He bent down and put his hand in the running water. He flinched finding the water warm; it was the last thing he expected. He was used to warming water for a bath or just bathing in the cold lakes. He looked up at Navi who landed on the edge of the tub.
Link splashed her with some of the water. She let out a cry as she flapped her wings. "Link!" She started to splash him with the water. Link laughed a little; he was trying to get his mind off of his worrying about Eznik.
A few hours passed and Eznik finally opened his eyes. He moved his arm over his eyes. "Autum?" he spoke quietly, his best assumption would be that she was in the room with him.
Autum looked at him as she turned off her cell phone. "How are you holding up?" she questioned him. She studied how he was reacting, she knew something was wrong. "As good as I can be after a heart attack, I suppose.." Eznik chuckled lightly trying to keep his hopes up.
"You're blind… aren't you?" Autum questioned him. She knew that he was trying to joke about it, but in the truth this might be worse than he wanted to admit. Eznik let out small sigh knowing he couldn't hide it from his sister. "Yeah, I can't see anything. When was it that you found me?" Eznik asked trying to figure out if this would be permanent or not.
"It was about 27 hours." Autum spoke as she looked over to the machines. "So you think you will be able to see again?" She asked concerned.
Eznik chuckled. "I'll be able to see how worried you are in about an hour or two." He was relieved to know that he wasn't going to remain blind. He trembled as he felt Autum grab his hand. He could tell that she was worried, she was rather quiet.
"I was supposed to let the others know when you woke up. They're all worried about you." Autum said as she looked at Eznik. "Would you rather I wait till you can see again before I tell them?" She asked, she'd rather not have the rest of them worrying more about Eznik.
"If you would, I rather not have to explain to them why I can't see anything." Eznik let out a small sigh. "How did Navi and Link take the news?" He knew that she would have to explain to the two what was happening.
Autum let go of his hand as she got to her feet. "Their holding up as best as they can with that kind of news." Autum looked at him; he still didn't look to be in the best of condition. "You need to rest Eznik, stop killing yourself over what happened with Brat. If you end up dead before we even step foot into that station the rest of us won't come out of it alive. They would be completely torn up about it; they will be fools for the slaughter. They all depend on you more than you want to believe. You're like a father to all of them; or at least a father figure. You ran away from one child and ended up with more than you ever wanted. As much as you refuse to get that surgery those kids need you to get it Eznik. You have your regrets and reasons why you don't want to teach anyone else it, but you're also going to be taking them all with you. You think they are going to be able to stand on their two feet without a doctor, a friend, a father figure? It's going to tear them down when they need that person the most. Stop drowning in your self-hate and punishment, grow some balls and take a chance for once." Autum lectured her younger brother.
Eznik laid thinking about everything she said. He sat up slowly and looked in the direction of her voice as he still couldn't see anything. He wasn't sure what to say. He wanted to shove it back in her face to defend himself; but in all truth he knew that the crew wanted him to live, he knew they needed him to live as did his daughters. Eznik let out a small sigh. "You need me just as much as them, don't you?" he accused her.
Autum looked away from him. "I trust you the most out of any of our family, also you seem to know me more than the rest of them; you get me. You're one of the few people in my life I have to turn to. I also don't want to lose my younger brother. The rest of them might not like you but you're my friend, my brother who happens to be a pain in my ass." Autum admitted as she looked at him and smiled forgetting he couldn't see. And one thing she didn't mention but she found out how much it would hurt losing him from being captured by the government and them telling her that they killed him.
Eznik brushed back his bangs that were hanging down. He took off his glasses toying with them in his hands. He let out a small sigh, "We'll see…" he spoke up, he had been ready for his time to come, but this was adding something to his plate. He didn't think any of his older siblings really did care. He thought that Autum only tolerated him. He knew for Autum to admit this, she was worried about him a lot. He never really took into consideration that she just might actually need him.
